Andrew 'Andy' Taylor
(1932 - 2007)

LYONS - Andrew "Andy" Taylor, 74, of Lyons, died Sunday morning, Feb. 25, 2007, at the Toledo Hospital.
Born Nov. 3, 1932, at Delta, he was the son of Minnie (Foreman) and Roy Taylor.
For over 25 years, he was a small engine repairman with the Andersons of Maumee, from where he retired. Later he worked at the former Coast to Coast Hardware store in Wauseon.
He was a member of the National Guard.
Surviving are his children, Mrs. Steve (Debbie) Miller of Lyons and Robert Taylor of Fayette; a brother, Richard Taylor of Lyons; former daughter - in - law, Carla Taylor; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his brothers, Olen, Harold and Taddy Taylor, and sisters, Genevieve Beckett and Betty Leininger.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 - 8 p.m. in the Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 Ohio 109, Delta. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be at Heath cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Lucas County Unit, 135 Chesterfield Lane, Suite 100, Maumee, Ohio 43537.

Denvil E. Owens
(1926 - 2007)

SHERWOOD - Denvil E. Owens, 80, of Sherwood, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2007, at Harborside of Defiance.
Born June 27, 1926, at Tom's Creek, Va., to Hazel (Jackson) and Lee Owens, he married Margaret Seaver in 1946 and she preceded him in death.
Prior to his retirement, he had been an operator at Johns - Mansville in Defiance for over 26 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of the Defiance VFW and Moose and the Bryan Eagles.
Surviving are his sons, Denver (and wife, Barbara) Owens of Bryan and David (Nancy) Owens of Delaware Bend; a daughter, Mrs. Dick (Debbie) Miller of Sherwood; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Wilburn Owens of Appalachia and Jesse (Virginia) Owens of Canton; and sisters, Gladys Farmer of Lebanon, Va., Joyce Fulcher of Tacoma, Va., Pete Renfro of Tacoma, Va. and Sue Jenkins of Norton, Va.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jeffrey; and sisters, Edith Potter and Doris Carroll.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. in the Burr Funeral Home & Crematory, Sherwood.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Larry Grow to officiate. Burial will follow in Sherwood cemetery with graveside military rites presented by the Sherwood VFW. Memorials may be made to Hospice, The Caring Way, of Defiance.

P. Diane Rosebrock
(1941 - 2007)

SHERWOOD - P. Diane Rosebrock, 66, of Sherwood, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan.
Born Feb. 18, 1941, at Woodlake, Calif., to Helen (Muse) and Ben Hunt, she married Albert Rosebrock on April 3, 1965, and he survives.
A homemaker and cake decorator, she was a member of the Living Waters International Church. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son, Brian (and wife, Kimberly) Rosebrock of Union City, Mich.; a daughter, Kathy Rosebrock of Defiance; seven grandchildren, Keisha, Kaylee, Christopher, Katrial, Caleb, Unique and Jocelyn; her father, Ben Hunt of Marshfield, Mo.; a brother, Chester (Marilyn) Hunt of Springfield, Mo.; and sisters, Charlotte Hunt and Patsy Denney, both of Marshfield, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her mother and brothers, Don and Ronnie Hunt.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. in the Burr Funeral Home & Crematory, Sherwood. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Dr. David G. Lion to officiate. Burial will follow in St. John Lutheran cemetery, Sherwood.
Memorials may be made to the family.

Erma E. Rufenacht
(1909 - 2007)

ARCHBOLD - Erma E. Rufenacht, 98, of Archbold, died Saturday morning, Feb. 24, 2007, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold, where she had resided since Nov. 27, 2000.
Born Jan. 31, 1909, near Archbold, to Amanda (Baer) and Joseph Beck, she married Reo Rufenacht on Feb. 16, 1932, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 1999.
A lifelong resident of the Archbold area, she was a homemaker.
Prior to her marriage, she had worked at Ohio Art in Bryan, and later worked at ForeCraft in Archbold for 20 years.
She was a member of the West Clinton Mennonite Church near Pettisville and its WMSC.
Surviving are three children, Mrs. Luke (Marilyn) Yoder of Archbold, Mrs. Stanley (Marlene) Smucker of North Newton, Kan., and Dwayne (and wife, Bonnie) Rufenacht of LaJunta, Colo.; eight grandsons; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Delmar (Darlene) Beck of Archbold and Carl Beck of Sonora, Calif.; a sister, Marjorie Short of Wauseon; and a sister - in - law, Bernice Rufenacht of Archbold.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Val Beck; and two sisters, Lois Beck and Arlene "Becky" Gasche.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 7 - 9 p.m. and Thursday from noon until 2 p.m. in the Fairlawn Chapel.
Memorial services will be Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in the West Clinton Mennonite Church with Pastor James Roynon to officiate. Interment will precede in the Pettisville cemetery. Short Funeral Home in Archbold is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee.

Charles F. 'Charlie' Andrews Jr.
(1928 - 2007)

WAUSEON - Charles F. "Charlie" Andrews Jr., 78, of Wauseon, died Friday morning, Feb. 23, 2007, at the Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon, where he was admitted Sunday.
Born May 4, 1928 near Lyons to Inez (Layman) and Charles Andrews Sr., he was married to Barbara Hartsel in 1952 and she preceded him in death in 1988. He then married Patricia Chittenden (Link) Rupp on Feb. 14, 1990 and she survives.
A lifelong resident of the Lyons/Wauseon area, he farmed and retired from The Andersons at Maumee after 25 years. He was a member of the North Clinton Mennonite Church at Wauseon. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Timothy (and wife Beth Ann) Andrews of Lyons; eight step-children, Ron (Roberta) Rupp of Paris, Texas, A.J. (Linda) Rupp of Fort Wayne, Ind., Gary (Lorene) Link of Morgantown, Ind., Ed (Linda) Rupp of Lyons, Joyce Nafziger of Wauseon, Mrs. Randy (Nancy) Becker of Toledo, Dave (Michelle) Link of Bellefontaine, and Mrs. Dave (Julie) Gugel of Wauseon; 27 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Phyllis Zook of Wauseon.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Shaun Gugel. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2 - 9 p.m. at North Clinton Fellowship Hall. Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the North Clinton Mennonite Church with Pastors Brad Faler and Gary Blosser officiating.
Short Funeral Home in Archbold is in charge of the arrangements.
The family suggests memorials be given to North Central Mennonite Church.

Teddy Gutierrez Jr.
(1954 - 2007)

BRYAN - Teddy Gutierrez Jr., 52, of Bryan died early Friday, Feb. 23, 2007 at Medical College of Ohio, Toledo.
Born Oct. 12, 1954 in Bryan to Venetta (Marsh) and Teddy Gutierrez Sr., he was a member of the Eagles and served in the Marine Corps.
Surviving are two children, Mathew (and wife Tiffany) Gutierrez of Edgerton and Jesteen Gutierrez of Bryan; four grandchildren, Paige and Isaiah Canles, Gabe Wilson and Peyton Gutierrez; three brothers, Neddy (Eldagene) Gutierrez of Montpelier, Freddy Gutierrez of Lima and Joe (Renona) Gutierrez of Ft. Wayne; and five sisters, Terry Gutierrez of Bryan, Mrs. Chuck (Sue) Jones of Montpelier, Mararita Gutierrez of Bryan, Mrs. Dave (Teresa) Williams of Findlay, and Mary Gutierrez of Colorado.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. at Oberlin - Ford Funeral Home, Bryan. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Fountain Grove cemetery, Bryan. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Maurice Orville Pinkham
(1931 - 2007)

Maurice Orville Pinkham, 75, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007, in Tennessee. He had previously resided in Bryan for a short time.
Born Dec. 13, 1931, at Saco, Maine, he was an alumni of Tri State University in Angola, Ind. Surviving are a sister, Barbara; ex - wife, Bonnie Pinkham of Bryan; four children, Richard Pinkham of Caliente, Nev., Jeff Pinkham of Bryan, Russell Pinkham of Hamilton, Ind., and Rena Pinkham of Ionia, Mich.; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A private memorial will be conducted by the family at a later date.
Memorials may be sent to Jeff Pinkham.

Kenneth L. Heffelfinger
(1918 - 2007)

Kenneth L. Heffelfinger, 88, of rural Bryan, died Thursday morning, Feb. 22, 2007, at Hillside Country Living near Bryan, where he was a resident.
Born Nov. 24, 1918, at DeKalb County, Ind., to Pearl (Bauer) and Henry Wallace Heffelfinger, he married Mary P. Chaney on Sept. 15, 1942, at Hicksville, and she survives.
A 1937 graduate of Hicksville High School, he was a lifelong farmer and elevator man. He was employed by the Bryan Elevator, the Thaman - Fox Elevator, Challenge Cook, the Edgerton Lumber Company, and then Williams Landmark, where he retired in 1985.
He was affiliated with the Melbern United Methodist Church and the Farm Bureau, and was the owner of Craftsman Lumber.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Michael (and wife, Marilyn) Heffelfinger of Edon, Richard (Karen) Heffelfinger of Reading, Mich., and John (Rebecca) Heffelfinger of Bryan; a daughter, Mrs. Mike (Sue) Bowman of Bryan; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a stepgranddaughter; and two brothers, Wendell (Clara) Heffelfinger of Hicksville and Darrell (Beverly) Heffelfinger of Auburn, Ind.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Justin Heffelfinger.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan. Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Diane Schaffner to officiate. Interment will follow in Six Corners cemetery near Hicksville.
Memorials may be made to the Melbern United Methodist Church.

Lance A. Larson
(1942 - 2007)

DEFIANCE - Lance A. Larson, 64, of Defiance, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
Born March 19, 1942, at Ajo, Ariz., to Marjorie (Welty) and Allen M. Larson, he married Linda L. Bauer on Sept. 18, 1992, and she survives.
Retired from General Motors in Defiance, he had previously worked at Auglaize Country Club in Paulding County.
He had attended various Methodist churches and was a member of the Auglaize Country Club and Rolling Thunder Dance Club in Defiance.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons, Randy A. (and wife, Norma) Larson of Leipsic, Timothy C. (Tonia) Larson of Leipsic and Jeremy L. (Angela) Larson of Ottawa; two daughters, Mrs. Rick (Dawn R.) Morrison of Pandora and Mrs. Mitchell (Heidi A.) Downard of Lima; a stepson, Jerry M. (Laura) Sanders of Farmer; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Mitch (Ginger M.) Warncke of Wauseon and Clifford (Tonya R.) Koenig of Defiance; 19 grandchildren; his stepmother, Cloe Payne of Gilboa; three brothers, Jim Payne of Lakeland, Fla., Bill Payne of Findlay and Jerry Payne of McComb; and a sister, Karen Schmitt of Findlay.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Charles Payne Jr. Visitation will be Saturday from 6 - 8 p.m. and Sunday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. in the Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Ottawa.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. George Jarrell to officiate. Burial will be in Harman cemetery, Gilboa.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Muriel Hensler Hokanson Lawrence
(1917 - 2007)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Muriel Hensler Hokanson Lawrence, 90, of Kansas City and formerly of Bryan, Ohio, died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007, at Kingswood Senior Living Community in Kansas City.
Born Jan. 30, 1917, at Kansas City, she was the daughter of Ella (Meade) and Otto H. Hensler. She married Edward W. Hokanson in 1961 and he preceded her in death in 1969. In 1977, she married Robert R. Lawrence and he preceded her in death.
A member of Christ the King Catholic Church, she was active in Pan - Hellenic, Community Concert and other civic projects.
Surviving are three stepsons, Edward W. (and wife, Janet) Hokanson Jr. of Grand Junction, Colo., Richard B. Hokanson of Kansas City and David F. (Jeanne) Hokanson of Leawood, Kan.; eight step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; two nephews, Donald C. Bollard III of Overland Park, Kan., and Meade Bollard of Kansas City; and a niece, Emily Bollard Reed of Kansas City. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a stepson, Stephen K. Hokanson. Visitation will be Saturday from 9 - 10 a.m. in the Christ the King Catholic Church, 8510 Wornall Road, Kansas City.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to KCK Catholic Community Hospice, 716 North 5th, Kansas City, KS, 66048.
Arrangements are by the McGilley State Line Chapel.
