Ruth M. Medaugh
(1915 - 2007)

PAULDING - Ruth M. Medaugh, 91, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, at the Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Bryan.
Born Nov. 3, 1915, at Antwerp, to Eva M. (Johnson) and Harry K. Harris, she married Robert M. Medaugh on Nov. 2, 1947, and he preceded her in death on June 20, 1996.
A retired teacher for Paulding, Napoleon and Whitehouse school systems, she was a former legal secretary for Bill Hunt and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Corona Chapter No. 95. She was a member of First Christian Church, Paulding, and the Order of the Eastern Star Corona Chapter No. 95.
Surviving are a daughter, Stephene R. Medaugh of Ann Arbor, Mich.; three grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Harriet Horney and Dorothy Hooker; and a stepgrandson, Raymond Yeary.
Visitation will be Thursday from2 - 4:30 p.m. and 6 - 8:30 p.m. in the Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the First Christian Church, Paulding, with the Rev. Fred Schuman to officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul cemetery, Paulding.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church.

Nancy K. Hyatt
(1945 - 2007)

TOLEDO - Nancy K. Hyatt, 61, of Toledo, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, at her home following an extended illness.
Born May 1, 1945, at Hicksville, to Esther (Lipp) and Ralph Parker, she married Donald F. Hyatt on Aug. 28, 1966, and he survives.
A para - professional with the Toledo Public Schools, she was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and was a former Girl Scout leader.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Douglas (and wife, Rebecca) Hyatt of Toledo, Timothy (Angie) Hyatt of Toledo and David (Jennifer) Hyatt of Lakewood; a daughter, Mrs. Tobias (Emily) Buckell of Bluffton; six grandchildren, Daniel, Allison, Rachel, Julian, Stuart and William Hyatt; and two sisters, Mary Lou Short of Taveres, Fla. and Joyce Cramer of Archbold.
Preceding her in death were her parents and a sister, Dolores "Annie" Robertson.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 - 8 p.m. in the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Toledo.
Visitation and a memorial service will be held Wednesday evening, time to be determined, in Pine Grove Church near Stryker. The Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial services for Nancy K. Hyatt will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Pine Grove Church near Stryker. Visitation will precede the service from 4 - 6 p.m. The Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker is in charge of arrangements.

Charles V. Steele
(1930 - 2007)

EDGERTON - Charles V. Steele, 76, of Edgerton, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.
Born Sept. 24, 1930, at Edgerton, to Bessie (Henney) and Claron Steele, he married Janet Jerger on Dec. 27, 1958, and she survives.
A 1948 graduate of Edgerton High School, he was a farmer near Edgerton for his entire life.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Robert (and wife, Gina) and Michael (Sandy), both of Edgerton; a daughter, Mrs. John (Yvonne) Pierce of Hicksville; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Kennedy of Bryan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of graveside services (due to weather), the service will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville. There will be no visitation.
Burial will be at Farmer cemetery, Farmer.
**Funeral services for Charles V. Steele, who died Saturday, Feb. 10, have been postponed until Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville.

Richard Neal Harrod
(1930 - 2007)

Richard Neal Harrod, 76, of Bryan and formerly of Jackson, Mich., died Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, at Hillside Country Living, Bryan.
Born July 11, 1930, at Albion, Mich., he was the son of Hazel Winnie (Engler) and Joseph Neal Harrod.
A 1948 graduate of Albion High School and a member of F.O.E. Aerie 612 in Jackson, he had been a resident of Hillside Country Living for the past nine years.
There are no immediate survivors.
Interment will be at Albion cemetery, Albion, Mich. No visitation or services are scheduled at this time. Thompson Funeral Home - Montpelier is in charge of arrangements.

David E. Corman
(1962 - 2007)

WEST UNITY - David E. Corman, 45, of West Unity, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007, in the Dilworth Center of Montpelier.
Born in Morenci, Mich., on Jan. 27, 1962, to Mary Ellen (Wolford) and Lawrence "Ike" Corman, his father lives and resides in Alvordton.
He was a 1981 graduate of Hilltop High School, began working for the Oberlin Turkey Farm in Bryan, then became employed at TRW in Fayette for 23 years.
He was a member of the Salem Mennonite Church in Waldron, Mich.; the American Motorcycle Assoc.; the National Rifleman's Assoc. of America. His passion was being an outdoor sportsman, an avid Michigan Wolverine and Cleveland Browns fan.
He was a devoted father to his three daughters, Alicia Corman of Ann Arbor, Mich., Erika and Samantha Corman of West Unity. Also surviving are one brother, John L. (and wife, Jackie) Corman of Alvordton; one sister, Mrs. Dennis (Coleen) Franz of Holgate; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his mother, were his paternal and maternal grandparents. Visitation will be Saturday from 6 - 8 p.m. and Sunday from 2 - 8 p.m. at the Hollingshead - Beck Funeral Home in West Unity.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the West Unity United Methodist Church with an hour of calling prior to the services starting at 10 a.m. from the church. Officiating the services will be the Rev. Ned Wyse and the Rev. Dorothy Ritchey - Moore. Burial will be in the Shiffler cemetery near Bryan. Memorials may be made to the Williams County Cancer Assistance, or to the Community Hospitals of Williams County - Hospice.

Carol Frey
(1932 - 2007)

WAUSEON - Carol Frey, 74, of Wauseon, died early Thursday morning, Feb. 8, 2007, at St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee, where she was admitted Wednesday night following a brief illness.
Born March 22, 1932, near Archbold, to Verna (Beck) and Simon Frey, she was a lifelong resident of the Archbold/Wauseon area.
She worked at Globe Weiss in Wauseon, at several area dressing plants, and most recently at Burger King in Wauseon.
She was a charter member of North Clinton Mennonite Church at Wauseon where she taught Sunday School.
She is survived by a brother, Richard (and wife, Ellen) Frey of Wauseon; niece and nephews, J.R. (Angie) Frey, Jack (Carol) Frey, Fred (Elaine) Frey and Mary Jane Frey; and three grandnieces and three grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Wendell James Frey.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3 - 8 p.m. in the North Clinton Mennonite Church.
Memorial services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the North Clinton Mennonite Church with Pastors Gary Blosser, Brad Faler and Richard E. Frey Jr. to officiate. Interment will precede at 10 a.m. in the Pettisville cemetery.
Short Funeral Home in Archbold is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Gideons International or the American Heart Association.

Joanne M. Storch Gerken
(1936 - 2007)

Joann M. Storch Gerken, 70, of Napoleon, Ohio, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007 at the Golden Living Center Northcrest in Napoleon, Ohio. Born March 16, 1936 to the late Rudolph and Amelia (Bartels) Storch, she married William "Bill" Gerken Jr. on May 26, 1957 at the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Napoleon, Ohio, who preceded her on Dec. 29, 2006.
She worked as a filler operator for Campbell Soup Co. for 26 years retiring in 1997. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Henrietta Red Hat Society, Henry County Bowling Association, Campbell Soup Retirees, and the Henry County Senior Center Transportation, all of Napoleon, Ohio.
She is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Richard) Flowers of Deshler, Ohio, Kathy (Robert) Scheckelhoff of Bryan, Ohio; grandchildren, Natasha (Ryan) Muehlfeld, Rebecca Flowers, Abbey Flowers. Robby Scheckelhoff, Katey Scheckelhoff; and a brother, Richard (Dorene) Storch of Hamler, Ohio.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Napoleon with Pastor Charles Kramer officiating. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill cemetery in Napoleon. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2 - 9 p.m. at the Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon and from 10 - 11 a.m. at the church on Saturday.
Memorials may be directed to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, Henry County Senior Center, or charity of the donors choice.

Gertrude Stimmel

Gertrude "Gertie" Stimmel, 89, of rural Hoytville, Ohio died Sunday afternoon, July 15, 2007 at Blakely Care Center, North Baltimore, Ohio.

She was born on November 18, 1917 in Leipsic, Ohio to the late John Wiley and Carrie (Robinson) Zeigler. On January 21, 1938 she married Earl "Stub" Stimmel in McComb, Ohio and he survives. Together they were winter residents of Phoenix, Arizona since 1960.

She was a 1935 graduate of McComb High School. She was a homemaker and prior to her marriage she provided childcare to newborn babies and assisted the mothers in their homes. She was a member of Hoytville United Methodist Church.

Gertie is survived by her husband of 69 years, Earl "Stub" Stimmel; a daughter, Marlene (Richard) Clinger, Findlay, Ohio; a son, Melvin (Patti) Stimmel, Ocala, Florida; 9 grandchildren, Elizabeth Sheroian, Melvin Stimmel, II, Heidi Chase - Miller, William Stimmel, Matthew Stimmel, Tim Clinger, Lee Ann Logsdon, Mike Clinger and Tracey Sehnert; 16 great grandchildren; and a brother, Carl Zeigler, Nashville, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Sehnert; and two sisters, Agnes Zeigler and Ruth Zeigler.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler, Ohio, with Rev Rick Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Milton Township cemetery, Custar, Ohio.

Visitation will be held from 2 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.

Markley, Jessica — (d. January 17th, 2011)

Jessica D. Markley, 40, of Napoleon, Ohio died Monday morning, January 17, 2011 from injuries sustained in a single car accident.
She was born June 27, 1970 in Flint, Michigan to Clayton & Joann (Michalik) Brewer. On September 7, 2000 she married Daniel Markley, who survives in Napoleon.
Jessica had worked for Campbell Soup Company in Napoleon for 22 years. She will be remembered for her love of Nascar, camping, gardening, and music.
She is survived by her, mother, Joann of Fowlerville, husband, Dan, children, Miranda Markley, Megan Markley, and Steven Markley, all of Napoleon. sisters, Dawn Brooks of Pinckney, MI, Donna Brewer of Ocala, FL, Senia Brewer of Grand Blanc, MI, Clatina (Tom) Bohn of Napoleon, brothers, Dane Cook of Vermont, Tracy Michalik of Fowlerville, MI, Terry Michalik of Perrysburg.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clayton and a sister, Corey Cook.
Jessica's wishes were to be cremated and a memorial service will be published at a later date.
The family request that memorials be directed to the family of Jessica Markley c/o of the Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon, Ohio.

William "Bill" Joy
May 18, 1937 - January 17, 2011

William "Bill" Joy, 73, of Swanton, Ohio died Monday, January 17, 2011 at St. Lukes Hospital, Maumee, Ohio.
He was born May 18, 1937 in Henry County, Ohio to the late William and Gladys (Wheeler) Joy. On April 27, 1994 he married Diane "D" Snyder and she survives.
Bill owned Joy Recycling and Transportation, Swanton. He served in the US Army and is a member of the Delta American Legion Post.
He is survived by his wife, Diane "D" Joy; children, Robin; Fred; Pat; and William; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and sister, Donna (John) Norden, Napoleon.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, McClure. Interment will follow in Grelton cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.
