Mary Jane Gracia
(1959 - 2007)

STRYKER - Mary Jane Gracia, 47, of Stryker, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 16, 2007, at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich., where she was admitted Sunday.
Born June 14, 1959, at Nassawadox, Va., to Ofelia (Rodriguez) and Alvino Alvarez, she married Eleazar "Ali" Gracia on Sept. 8, 1979, and he survives.
A resident of the Stryker area since 1979, she worked at Sauder Woodworking in the comps and benefits department for 27 years.
She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bryan and attended the Restoration Tabernacle Church in Defiance.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Jeremiah Gracia of Bowling Green; two daughters, Mauriana Gracia and Marrissa Gracia, both of Stryker; her parents, Alvino and Ofelia Alvarez of Ottawa; a brother, Gilbert Alvarez of Ottawa; and a sister, Patricia Alvarez of Ottawa.
Visitation will be today from 6 - 8 p.m. and Friday from 2 - 8 p.m., with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. Friday, in the Short Funeral Home, Archbold.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bryan, with Father Nicholas Weibl, Pastor Janet Strickland and Pastor H.G. Strickland to officiate. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Catholic cemetery near Archbold.

Wyona Marseille W. Beals
(1921 - 2007)

Wyona Marseille Beals, 85 years, of Bryan, died at 12:50 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Mrs. Beals was a teller at First National Bank in Bryan for 45 years. She was a member of the First Church of Christ in Bryan.
Wyona Marseille Beals was born on Aug. 5, 1921, in Bryan, Ohio, the daughter of Hal C. and Agnetta (Pollock) Spire. She married Ralph Puhl in 1937, and that marriage ended in 1946. She then married Paul Robert Butler in 1948, and he tragically died three months later in an automobile accident. Marseille then married former Bryan Police Chief Frank Beals Jr. on Sept. 2, 1950 in Bryan, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 2006.
Surviving are her two daughters, Terry (Puhl) McBroom of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida and Debbie (Rock) Dunlap of Conyers, Georgia; grandchildren, Cheri (Andy) Matyk of Indian Rocks Beack, Fla., Mark (Mary) McBroom of Seminole, Fla., Kristy McBroom of Zanesville, Ohio, Rocky (Maria) Dunlap of Atlanta, Ga., and Rochelle Dunlap of Conyers, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Taylor McBroom, Connor, Madison and Grant McBroom, Andrew and Amanda Matyk; three sisters, Donna Sauder of Archbold, Marge Schlosser of Bryan and Joyce (Jim) Waterston of Pioneer. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Paul Robert Butler and Frank Beals Jr.; grandson, Steven McBroom; son - in - law, C. Richard McBroom; and brother, Joe Spire.
Funeral services for Wyona Marseille Beals will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, at the First Church of Christ, 129 North Walnut St., Bryan, with Pastor Larry Snavely officiating. Interment will follow in Shiffler cemetery, rural Bryan. Visitation for Mrs. Beals will be held on Friday, Jan. 19, from 5 - 8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry St., Bryan, and also one hour prior to services on Saturday in the church.
Memorials in the name of Wyona Marseille Beals may be given to Dream Haven Elderly Group Home, 233 West Morrison St., Edgerton, or to the Alzheimer's Association Northwest Ohio Chapter, 2500 North Reynolds Road, Toledo, 43615.

Elmer S. Hinschlager
(1922 - 2007)

PAULDING - Elmer S. Hinschlager, 84, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at the Dallas Lamb Foundation Home, Payne.
Born Oct. 29, 1922, at Trilby, to Ruby (Sturm) and Theodore Hinschlager, he married Mary Young on Dec. 20, 1947, and she survives.
A World War II Navy veteran stationed in the Solomon Islands and Admiralty Islands of the South Pacific, he had been employed by Aro Corporation in Bryan, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Paulding; was a V.F.W. Post No. 587 life member; and was a Cub Scout master for many years.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Mrs. Carl (Janet) Knippen of Delphos, Karen Brown of Mendon, Robert (and wife, Rebecca) Hinschlager of St. Mary's, Charles (Theresa) Hinschlager of Sherwood and Mrs. Gene (Carol) Stallings of Marysville; 14 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Rudolph and Willard Hinschlager; and a sister, Florence Macaro.
Visitation will be Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 - 11 a.m. in the Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Eble to officiate. Burial will be in Rochester cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Paulding Area Visiting Nurses and Hospice or a charity of the donor's choice.

Rex Louis Vollmar
(1917 - 2007)

GRAND RAPIDS - Rex Louis Vollmar, 89, of Grand Rapids, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at County View Haven, Napoleon.
Born Nov. 28, 1917, at Grand Rapids, to Esther and Meno Vollmar, he married Charlotte Pauff on Sept. 9, 1940, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 21, 2006.
A lifelong Lucas County farmer, he was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Masonic Lodge No. 289 F&AM, both in Grand Rapids. He was also a member of Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo, Zenobia Shrine, Toledo, and its Shrine Band and the German Band.
Surviving are three sons, Robert (and wife, Ruth) Vollmar of Bryan, James (Linda) Vollmar of Liberty Center and Kenny Vollmar of Grand Rapids; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Vollmar.
Visitation will be today from 4 - 8 p.m. in the Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center, preceded by Masonic Memorial services at 3:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Pamela Gordon to officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant cemetery, Grand Rapids.
Memorials may be made to Country View Haven, the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Association.

Eva M. Wisman
(1917 - 2007)

Eva M. Wisman, 89, of Bryan and a former Montpelier resident, died Monday morning, Jan. 15, 2007, at Hillside Heritage Nursing Home near Bryan, following a lingering illness.
Born Feb. 17, 1917, at Northwest Township, Williams County, to Adessia (Martin) and Daniel Bauer, she married Ray H. Wisman on Nov. 3, 1934, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 1994.
In 1979, she retired as head cook at Storrer Elementary School, Montpelier, where she had been employed for 22 years.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. James (Phyllis) Luke of Bryan; a son, Norman "Butch" (and wife, Marilyn) Wisman of Bronson, Mich.; six grandchildren, Mrs. James (Deanna) Tucker of Bryan, Roger (Rose) Wisman of Bronson, Mich., Mrs. Robert (Stephanie) Corron of Bryan, Allen (Bobbette) Wisman of Addison, Mich., James (Caroline) Luke II of Temecula, Calif., and Rhonda Wisman of Quincy, Mich.; 10 - great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-granchildren; and a stepgreat-grandson.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Sandra and Timmy Luke; a brother, Kenneth Bauer; and two sisters, Katherine Smith and Lillian Reamsnyder.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. in the Wilson - Geesey Funeral Home, Montpelier.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor David Miller to officiate. Burial will be in Brown cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Kenneth J. Rau
(1932 - 2007)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Kenneth J. Rau, 74, of Fort Wayne and formerly of Bryan, Ohio, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, at his residence.
Born Oct. 25, 1932, at Defiance, Ohio, he was the son of Donelda (Friend) and Waldo I. Rau.
He had retired after 28 years as a highway worker with the Ohio Department of Transportation. He attended Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Harlan.
Surviving are his significant other, Kathleen McMaken of Fort Wayne; sons, Kenny (and wife, Kim) Rau of Sylvania, Ohio, and Kevin (Aimee) Rau of Bryan, Ohio; grandchildren, Alexis and Nate Rau of Bryan and Nick and Caleb Rau of Sylvania; brothers, Jack (Donna) Rau of Gatlinburg, Tenn., Bobby (Connie) Rau of West Unity, Ohio, and Dave Rau of Auburn; sisters, Marilyn Hall of Hicksville, Ohio, Dorothy Oyer of Westland, Mich., and Madonna Spicer of Edgerton, Ohio; sister - in - law, Beulah "Bea" Rau of Hicksville; and many nieces and nephews.
His parents and brothers, Richard, Donald, George and Wally Rau preceded him in death.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. in the Burr Funeral Home & Crematory, Bryan.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Amy Beitelschees - Albers to officiate. Burial will follow in Shiffler cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Bryan Parks and Recreation Department to purchase a bench and tree.

Richard G. "Bo" Bostater
(1942 - 2007)

Richard G. "Bo" Bostater, 64, of Bryan, died Monday morning, Jan. 15, 2007, at his residence following a brief illness. Born Sept. 15, 1942, at Bryan, to Gertrude (Cramer) and Victor Bostater, he married Sandra K. Ruffer on June 17, 2004, at Bryan, and she survives. An Army veteran stationed in Germany from 1960 to 1963, he was employed by the City of Bryan Street Department for 14 years, retiring as street commissioner. He was also the co - owner of B & M Auto Service for 20 years. He was a life member of the Ohio Gun Collector's Association, the Amateur Trap Shooting Association, the National Rifle Association, Bryan Moose Lodge No. 1064, Williams County Bass Anglers, Pheasants Forever and the Williams County Conservation Club. He was a former member of the Bryan Eagles Aerie 2233. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lynn (Christa) Hancock of Columbus; a granddaughter, Hannah Hancock; stepdaughters, Shanon Kimpel of Antwerp and Brittany Kimpel of Archbold; stepgranddaughter, McKenzie Mason; two brothers, Robert (and wife, Vickie) Bostater of Bryan and Roger Bostater of New London, N.C.; a sister, Mrs. Richard (Joyce) Bennett of Williams Center; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 - 8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Crystal Goodnight to officiate. Private burial will be in Fountain Grove cemetery. Memorials may be made to Visiting Nurses and Hospice of Williams and Fulton Counties, 230 Westfield Drive, Archbold, OH 43502.

Denver D. Young
(1922 - 2007)

TEMPERANCE, Mich. - Denver D. Young, 84, of Temperance and formerly of Lambertville and Stryker, Ohio, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, at the St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
Born Aug. 9, 1922, at Stryker, Ohio, to Goldie (Sines) and Frank Young, he married Florine "Thelma" Janney on Nov. 24, 1948, at Lambertville United Methodist Church, and she preceded him in death on April 21, 1987.
A graduate of Stryker High School and Davis Business College, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
The post master in Lambertville for 28 years, from 1954 to 1982, he had previously been employed at Ohio Art in its former Stryker facility. After retirement, he worked at Tony's in Lambertville for five years making doughnuts. He was also a retired Bedford Volunteer Fire Fighter serving at Lambertville Station No. 47.
He was a long time active member of Lambertville United Methodist Church and was also a member of Bedford Senior Citizens, The Post Masters Association, Lambertville VFW Post No. 9656, an honorary member of Bedford Volunteer Fire Dept. No. 2 and a former member of the Exchange Club.
Surviving are his children, Robert (and wife, Elizabeth) Young of Temperance, Mrs. David (Janet) Caygill of Lambertville; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a sister, Mrs. Ervin (Wanda) Bruns of Stryker.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bard Young.
Visitation will be today from 1 - 9 p.m. in the Bedford Funeral Chapel, 8300 Lewis Ave., Temperance.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Lambertville United Methodist Church where he will lie in state from 10 a.m. The Rev. Thomas Zimmerman is to officiate. Interment will be in Lambertville cemetery where VFW Post No. 9656 will conduct military honors.
Memorials may be made to the church or Bedford Senior Citizens.

John R. Kraska

We say farewell today to our father, brother and friend, John R. Kraska. John was born to John and Mary Kraska of Delta, Ohio on June 6, 1934. He passed on to be with the Lord November 25, 2003 at the home of his daughter in Maumee.
He leaves behind daughters, Kristine Kraska of Waterville, Bonnie (Larry) Hudspeath of Maumee, Cheryl Mattin of Fayette, Angie Mattin of Delta, Tina Mattin of Wauseon, and Gay (Troy) Borton of Monclova; and sister Helen Williams of Whitehouse. Grandchildren included: Glen (Carrie) Hudspeath, Amy (Kevin) Clark, Garrett Ebersole, Cole Ebersole, Ashley Teems, Sarah Mattin and Madison Mattin. He was also blessed to enjoy two great-grandchildren Anna Hudspeath and Mayzie Clark. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Kraska, parents, and two sisters.
John was a graduate of Delta High School Class of 1953 and a member of the Morenci American Legion. After serving in the Korean War, he was a self - employed contractor in the Northwest Ohio area. He attended Oasis Christian Fellowship in Wauseon.
Final respects can be made at the Grisier Funeral Home in Delta on Friday, November 28th from 3:00 - 8:00 P.M. Services will also be held at the Grisier Funeral Home in Delta on Saturday, November 29th at 10:00 A.M.
The family requests tributes can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio of the American Cancer Society.

Bonnie L. Masters
(1953 - 2007)

EDON - Bonnie L. Masters, 53, of Edon, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, at her residence.
Born Oct. 21, 1953, at Montpelier, to Mildred R. (Gibbs) and Cleo Andrews, she married Michael E. Masters and he preceded her in death in December 2001.
A 1971 graduate of Edon High School, she was a day care provider and also made Barbie doll clothes. She was a member of the Bryan Eagles Auxiliary.
Surviving are a brother, Ron Andrews of Montpelier; a half brother, Richard Gambler of Mendota, Ill.; a nephew, Chad (and wife, Shannon) Lyman of Edon; and two nieces, Melinda Melvin of Illinois and Wendy Gambler of Columbus.
Visitation will be Thursday after 4 p.m. in the Thompson Funeral Home, Montpelier.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Michael D. Raypholtz to officiate. Interment will be at Edon cemetery.
Memorials may be made at the American Diabetes Association.

Martha J. Essex
(1924 - 2007)

Martha J. Essex, 82, of Bryan, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at the Dilworth Center, Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Montpelier.
Born Aug. 16, 1924, at Jewell, to Oressa (Brubaker) and Walter A. Hammon, she married Earl R. Essex on Dec. 15, 1946, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 1966.
A graduate of North Richland Adams High School, she was a 49 - year resident of Wauseon.
She was employed at the Fulton County auditor's office for six years before accepting a secretarial position at Hallett and Hallett Attorneys at Law in Wauseon, where she worked for 31 years.
She was an active member of the Christ United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary, all in Wauseon.
Moving to Bryan in 1996, she had resided at Hillside Country Living since 2005.
Surviving are two children, DeWayne R. (and wife, Linda) Essex of Bryan and Dorene J. Essex of Westerville; four grandchildren, Mrs. Thomas (Heather) Schaper of Bryan, Mrs. Jeffery (Holly) Farthing of Maumee, Ms. Jennifer Neal of Raleigh, N.C. and Ms. Kelly Neal of Columbus; and four great-granddaughters, Abigail, Madelyn, Addison and Claire.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. in the Edgar - Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Christ United Methodist Church, Wauseon, with the Rev. Hap Itson and the Rev. Richard Buchsteiner to officiate. Interment will be private.
Memorials may be made to CHWC Hospice, Christ United Methodist Church or to the charity of the donor's choice.
