Lynn Short
(1937 - 2006)

STRYKER - Lyn Short, 69, of rural Stryker, died Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 29, 2006, at her home, following an extended illness.
Born Oct. 18, 1937, at Wauseon, to Millicent (Helvoigt) and Stewart H. Hyatt, she married Roger D. Short on June 14, 1958, and he survives.
She was employed at Sauder Village, Archbold, for 15 years in housekeeping.
A member of Pine Grove Mennonite Church, Stryker, she had taught Sunday and Bible school for many years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Michael (and wife, Sandra) Short of Stryker, Greg Short of Stryker and Mrs. Zachary (Lana) Rising of West Unity; five grandchildren; a brother, Don (Nancy) Hyatt of Toledo; and a sister, Mrs. Dan (Anne) Knott of Sylvania.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be today from 6 - 9 p.m. and Saturday from 2 - 5 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. in Lockport Mennonite Church, rural Stryker.
Memorial services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. in the church with Pastor Walter Campbell to officiate. Private family graveside service and interment will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Lockport cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Fulton and Williams Counties, Sauder Village or Pine Grove Mennonite Church.
Arrangements are by Grisier Funeral Home, Stryker.

Roger L. Lyons Sr.
(1943 - 2006)

MONTPELIER - Roger L. Lyons Sr., 63, of Montpelier, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, Nov. 29, 2006, at his home of apparent natural causes.
Born April 13, 1943, at Edon, to Evelyn O. (Underwood) and Donald K. Lyons, he married Donna L. Merrifield on Oct. 2, 1964, and she survives.
A Montpelier resident most of his adult life, he was a 1961 graduate of Edon High School.
He had retired in April as a machine operator at DYCO Manufacturing Co., Montpelier, where he had been employed for 12 years.
Formerly employed as an officer with the Montpelier Police Department, he had served a number of years on the Montpelier Fire Department.
He was a life member of the Montpelier Eagles Lodge No. 2246.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Roger L. (and wife, Kristin) Lyons Jr. of Tacoma, Wash., and Michael (Anna) Lyons of Bryan; three grandchildren, Holly and Cameron Lyons of Bryan and Jon Lyons of Tacoma, Wash.; his father, Donald K. Lyons of Montpelier; a brother, Kenneth (Ruth) Lyons of Edon; a sister, Mrs. Jim (Carolyn) Roesener of Camden, Mich.; two stepbrothers, Harold "Pete" (Bonnie) Mills of Edon and Duke Mills of LaGrange, Ind.; and a stepsister, Sharon Taylor of Montpelier.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn O. Lyons; stepmother, Maude Lyons; and a sister, Donna Hayes.
Graveside funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Riverside cemetery, Montpelier, with the Rev. Dwight Bowers to officiate. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements are by Wilson - Geesey Funeral Home, Montpelier.

Anna Figgins
(1919 - 2006)

Anna Figgins, 87, of Bryan, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Bryan.
Born April 30, 1919, at Hicksville, Ohio, to Cecilia (Mozeic) and Peter Vitek, she married Lowell D. Figgins in Hicksville, N.Y. and he survives.
She was a homemaker.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Randy (Beverly) Tingle of Fairplay, Colo.; two sons, Terry (and wife, Connie) Figgins of New Hall, Calif., and Peter Figgins of Edgerton; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Frank, George and Tony Vitek; and a sister, Julia Cottrel.
Visitation will be Friday from 3 - 7 p.m. in the Oberlin - Ford Funeral Home, Bryan.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Father Charles Ritter to officiate. Burial will follow in Shiffler cemetery, Pulaski.
Memorials may be made to CHWC - Hospice, Bryan.

Donna J. Buda

Donna J. Buda, 75, of Bryan, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2006, at the Toledo Hospital.
She was the widow of Ned G. Buda who preceded her in death in June of 1983.
Arrangements are pending at Thompson Funeral Home - Montpelier.

Jayce Michael Brazier

MONTPELIER - Jayce Michael Brazier, 10 - day - old son of Alexis Brazier and Benjamin Moll, died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, at the emergency room of Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Montpelier.
Service arrangements are pending at Thompson Funeral Home - Montpelier.

Isabel Mae Leu
(1917 - 2006)

ARCHBOLD - Isabel Mae Leu, 89, of Archbold, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, at Fairlawn Haven.
Born June 8, 1917, at Hillsdale County, Mich., to Beatrice (Gearig) and William Neuenschwander, she married Earl Leu on June 9, 1940, and he preceded her in death in 1982.
A graduate of Wauseon High School, she had lived on the family farm in Franklin Township. She was a cook at Zone School for several years and, after her children were grown, she worked as a billing clerk at Young Spring and Wire until her retirement in 1979.
She was a member of the Archbold United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was involved with the WSCS, the weekly Bible study, the Quilting Club and volunteered for the thrift sale.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Max (Pat) Yoder of Archbold; two sons, Ron (and wife, Helen) of Archbold and Robert "Buggs" (Sally) of Wauseon; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be today from 3 - 8 p.m. in the narthex of the Archbold United Methodist Church.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the church with Pastor David David to officiate. Burial will be in the Wauseon cemetery. Short Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Fairlawn Haven or Archbold United Methodist Church.

Dolores M. McBride
(1927 - 2006)

WALTON, Ind. - Dolores M. McBride, 79, of Walton and formerly of Bryan, Ohio, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, at the home of her son in Young America.
Born March 31, 1927, at Danbury, Ohio, to DeEtta Rose and Francis P. Harmon, she married Edward L. McBride on Dec. 14, 1946, at Bryan, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 6, 2006.
She drove a school bus for Southeastern School Corporation from 1968 to 1975 and was a member of the Union Presbyterian Church in Walton.
She is survived by a son, Kenneth E. McBride of Young America; two daughters, Cheryl R. Gilbert of Walton and Mrs. Michael S. (Marlene R.) Mehaffie of Peachtree City, Ga.; five grandchildren, Brian R. Cripe of Walton, Hickory R. Gilbert of Logansport, and Ashley, Sarah and Katie Mehaffie, all of Peachtree City, Ga.; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold (and wife, Mary Lou) Harmon of Bryan; a brother - in - law, Ralph McBride of Bryan; and a sister - in - law, Mrs. Bill (Marguerite) McNany of Warren. Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband, were a daughter, Loraine Rochelle McBride, and a brother, Paul Harmon.
Visitation will be today from 5 - 8 p.m. in the Murray Weaver Funeral Home Walton Chapel, 401 N. Main St., Walton.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Kathie Jones to officiate. Burial will follow at 4 p.m. at Fountain Grove cemetery, Bryan.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and Alzheimer's Association.

Richard David Brigle
(1926 - 2006)

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. - Richard David Brigle, 80, of Battle Creek, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, at Select Specialty Hospital in Battle Creek.
Born Jan. 23, 1926, at Montpelier, Ohio, he was the son of Pearl Lee (Faber) and Wayne Wesley Brigle.
Having served in Europe in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946, he was the head engineer at Simpson Industries in Litchfield, Mich. for many years.
He was a member of the DAV.
Surviving are sons, Richard Lee Brigle of Paw Paw and David Wayne Brigle of Grand Rapids; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Gary Brigle of Montgomery.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Vivian (Baker) Brigle; a daughter, Linda (Brigle) John; and a sister, Maxine Bechtol.
Private family services are to be held. Arrangements are by the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service, Battle Creek.
Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans.

Lois M. Culver
(1926 - 2006)

MONTPELIER - Lois M. Culver, 79, of Montpelier, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, at the Medical University of Ohio, Toledo.
Born Dec. 13, 1926, at Ransom, Mich., she was the daughter of Elnora (Dunlap) and Melvin Edinger. She had been a waitress and bartender and was a member of the F.O.E. Auxiliary in Montpelier. Surviving are three sons, Mike (and wife, Georgette) Gibbs of Bryan, Gary (Dee) Gibbs of Belle Center and Billy (Donna) Culver of Coldwater; two daughters, Mrs. Roger (Trudy) Dietsch and Sherry L. Tietsort, both of Montpelier; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Ellsworth (Hilda) Edinger of Adrian, Mich.; and three sisters, Mrs. Melvin (Bernetta) Benker of Zapata, Texas, Mrs. Bill (Carol) Jardine of North Henderson, Texas, and Mrs. Tom (Helen) Gassaway of Pioneer.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Delbert and Robert Edinger. Visitation will be Monday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. in the Thompson Funeral Home - Montpelier. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be at Riverside cemetery, Montpelier.
Memorials may be made to Hospice, The Caring Way, of Williams and Fulton Counties.

Sharon L. Wolf
(1937 - 2006)

Sharon L. Wolf, 69, of Sherwood, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
Born Sept. 13, 1937, at Garrett, Ind., to Una (Fellers) and Everett Cooper, she married Herbert Wolf in 1954, and he survives.
A retired realtor, having worked for Osborne & Associates, she was a member of the VFW Auxiliary of Sherwood, the Moose Lodge of Defiance and the Eagles of Defiance.
She was a previous board member of the Ohio Women Bowlers Association and was a previous president of the Defiance City Bowling Association.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Peggy Wolf of Sherwood; three sons, Michael (and wife, Cheryl) Wolf of Sherwood, Brian (Gwen) Wolf of Noble, Okla. and Larry (Michelle) Wolf of Oklahoma City, Okla.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Tom (Kristi) Bellamy of Bryan and Mrs. Neal (Debbie) Price of Antwerp; and two brothers, Everett Cooper of Ossian, Ind. and James (Peggy) Cooper of Waterloo, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Laura K. Wolf; two sisters, Judy Lockwood and Sandra Cooper; and a brother, Leslie Cooper.
Visitation will be today from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. in the Mast - Mock - Hoffman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Nick Woodall to officiate. Burial will be at Myers cemetery, Defiance County.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Wayne L. Grieser
(1920 - 2006)

WEST UNITY - Wayne L. Grieser, 86, of West Unity, died Wednesday evening, Nov. 8, 2006, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold, where he had resided since Aug. 11. Born June 2, 1920, near Archbold, to Priscilla (Vonier) and Albert Grieser, he married Jane Blair on June 1, 1947, and she survives.
A resident of the Kunkle - West Unity area for 50 years, he had moved to Archbold in 2006. Mr. Grieser was a farmer and was also employed at Northwestern Electric Co - op in Bryan for about 10 years.
He was a member of the West Unity Evangelical Mennonite Church, now known as Solid Rock Community Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Jerry (and wife, Sherree) Grieser of Archbold and Leslie Grieser of West Unity; two daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Janna) Williams of Napoleon and Mrs. Larry (Lisa) Gratz of Anna; three granddaughters; six step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth Grieser of Evansport; and two sisters, Edith Wyse of Archbold and Rutheda Stuckey of Archbold.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Royal Grieser; and a sister, Glada Zuercher. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 - 8 p.m. in the Short Funeral Home, Archbold.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the Fairlawn Chapel with Pastors Charles Gautsche and Mike Beasley to officiate. Interment will follow in the Pettisville cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Gospel Barn or Fairlawn Haven..
