Thomas F. Thornton Jr. age 87, died late Sunday, September 21, 2003 at his residence in Taylor, Michigan.
He was born February 12, 1916 in Lansing, MI. He lived in Beaver Falls, PA, where he graduated high school and lived for many years. He assisted his family in collecting antiques many years for Mary Thornton Antiques in Milan, Ohio, and enjoyed an early career at Fox Film Company in Detroit, MI. He retired as a maintenance worker for Greenfield Village in Michigan after 30 years. He was an avid collector of records and films, in which he entertained family and friends over the years.
He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Cunningham of Bellevue; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas F. Thornton Sr. and Mary R. (Rowland) Thornton.
Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 – 10:00 A.M. at the Evans & Groff Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 10:30 A.M. at Milan cemetery in Milan, Ohio.
Memorial contributions, if desired, may be sent to the family or one’s favorite charity.

Edith May (Arnold) Rew, age 83, of Norwalk, died Friday, September 26, 2003 at Norwalk Memorial Home in Norwalk.
She was born December 6, 1919 in Collins, Ohio. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Norwalk and the Daughters of the American Revolution, Sally De Forest Chapter. She worked at Norwalk Memorial Home for 13 years, and enjoyed being a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughters, E. Elaine (Gordon) Micoff of Melvin, MI, Shirley (Wally) Beil of Sandusky, Charlynne (Jim) Busek of Norwalk, Londa (Hugo) Rosado of Mansfield, sons; Harold “Bing” (Suzanne) Rew of Monroeville and Richard E. Rew of Norwalk; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Eva Sheridan of Mansfield, and Janette Ray of Greenwich; brother, Alfred Arnold of Denver, CO.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Rew; daughter, Leona Rew; son, Alfred Rew; parents, Alfred and Nellie (Baker) Arnold; sister, Cecelia More; brother, Lory Arnold.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 P.M. at the Evans & Groff Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home. The Rev. Edna Stahl will officiate. Burial will follow at Collins cemetery in Collins, Ohio.
Memorial contributions, if desired, may be sent to First United Methodist Church, 60 W. Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio 44857 or one’s favorite charity.

Kolman Kosa, age 74, of North Fairfield, died July 30, 2003 at Fisher - Titus Medical Center in Norwalk.
He was born at home, July 23, 1929 in Mansfield, Ohio. He was raised in the Mansfield and Cleveland, Ohio area. He lived in New London during the 1970's and later moved to North Fairfield, Ohio. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Norwalk, and served in the US Army.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. (Goldbach) Kosa of North Fairfield; sons and daughter - in - law, Kerry (Deborah) Kosa of Wellington and Kris Kosa of Fairfield Township; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brother, Alexander Kosa Jr. of Valley City, OH; sister, Helen Fekete of Plainfield, IND; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander Kosa Sr. and Barbara (Skorvan) Kosa.
There will be no visitation. Arrangements by the Evans & Groff Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio.

Lorena A. Arps, 76, of Holgate, Ohio died peacefully on Thursday morning, June 13, 2013 at CHP Defiance Inpatient Hospice. She was born July 12, 1936, in Deshler, Ohio to the late Ernest & Wilhelmina (Behrman) Hoops. On October 6, 1956, she married Norbert Arps at St. John Lutheran Church, Deshler, who preceded her in death on May 9, 2003.
Lorena worked in the office at Sherwin Williams, Deshler for over 25 years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hamler and Low German Club. She was a also a homemaker, caregiver, and assisted her husband on their dairy farm for many years. She loved to garden and work in her flower beds and spend time with her family.
She is survived by her children; Jan (Kent) Sonnenberg of Holgate, Diane (David) Ragless of Van Buren, Robert Arps of Holgate, and Pamela (Karl) Klein of Napoleon, grandchildren; Elaine, Ted (Kari), and Darla Sonnenberg, Kevin Ragless, and Andrea, Caroline, and John Klein, and sister, Pauline (Vernon) VonDeylen of Bloomington, MN. She was preceded in death by brothers, Eldor & Marvin Hoops, and sister, Martha Mittermaier.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hamler. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 2 - 8 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon and Monday from 10 - 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice.

Georgie L. Davis, 74, of Napoleon, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, June 7, 2013 at the Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center in Defiance, Ohio. She was born November 8, 1938 in Defiance County to the late August and Flora Lodissa (Hurtt) Kammeyer. On June 16, 1956, she married Maurice E. Davis in Defiance, Ohio. Georgie was a homemaker and a secretary at LDM Technologies beginning in 1967 and retiring in 2001. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and holidays with family. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Napoleon. She is survived by her husband, Maurice, Napoleon; daughters, Karen (Thomas) Kunkle, Traci (Jeff) Conklin both of Napoleon, grandchildren; Jawn (Keith) Merillat, Jamie (Allison) Davis, Zach (Ashley Reinbolt) Davis, LaFaye Davis, Taryn Conklin; great grandchildren; Kaleb, Chloe and Karissa Merillat, Tatum Davis and a new great grandchild on the way; sisters, Alberta Gilliam, Ethel Retcher, Barbara Bibler, Elsie (Fred) Olinghouse, Verona Meine, Frances (Harry) Brown, all of Defiance and a brother; Larry (Marilyn) Kammeyer of Archbold. She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Davis, and 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Napoleon, with Pastor James Castello officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens in Defiance. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2 - 8 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon and on Wednesday, one hour prior to services at the church. Suggested memorial donations may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, or the Defiance Inpatient Hospice.

Marian L. Moden, 80, of Napoleon, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Henry County Hospital on Sunday, May 26, 2013. She was born April 15, 1933 in Napoleon to late Leonard R. and Mildred C. (Gosline) Reichert. On April 12, 1953, she married William R. "Bill" Moden, Sr., who preceded her in death on March 27, 2008.
Marian was a homemaker and co - owner of the former Moden Fashion Wheel and Moden Lincoln Mercury Automotive Dealership, both of Napoleon. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Napoleon.
Marian loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was noted the first Tomato Queen of the Henry County Fair in 1950.
She is survived by her children, William R. (Mary Jo) Moden, Jr., Steve (Patty) Moden, Michael Moden, and Julie (Paul) Walker all of Napoleon; brother, Robert (Isa VanHelden) Reichert of Sarasota, Florida, grandchildren, Kimberly Jenkins, William "Rob" Moden, Christopher Moden, Steve Moden, Jr., Melissa Southey, Wesley Murrey, and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Reichert.
A private funeral service will be held at Glenwood cemetery in Napoleon officiating Pastor Tom Polker.
Memorial visitation will be held Wednesday, May 29, from 5 - 8 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon.
The family suggests memorial donations to Hospice of Henry County or a charity of the donors choice.

Thomas Lane, 53, of Toledo, Ohio, formerly of Napoleon, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio. He was born on January 14, 1960 in Napoleon, Ohio to Melvin & Miriam (Koppenhaver) Lane.
Tom graduated from Napoleon High School and Defiance College with honors. He was the Area Manager at Campbell Soup Company, Napoleon for over 25 years and currently the Distribution Manager for Bimbo Bakery, Toledo.
Tom was an avid outdoors man. He loved to go mushroom hunting and over the years, take his children and now grandchildren on nature walks. He was a proud supporter of the Toledo Zoo and Toledo Opera.
He is survived by his parents, Melvin and Miriam; children, Jennifer (Matthew) Grubaugh of Liberty Center, Nathaniel Lane and Audrey Lane, both of Mount Prospect, Illinois; grandchildren, Gavin, Tristan, and Connor Grubaugh; and sister, Susan (Thomas) Baldwin of Napoleon. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Joseph Lane, and brother, Melvin Lane, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 25th at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, Ohio. A private interment will be held at Forest Hill cemetery.
Visitation will be 2 - 8 p.m. on Friday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon and Saturday from 10 - 11 a.m. at the church.
The family suggests memorials to ALS Association, Samaritan's Purse, or a charity of the donor's choice.

Ralph L. Vogelsong, 84, of Napoleon, passed on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 @ 12:27pm.
He was born July 29, 1928, the son of Charles W, Vogelsong and Marguerite (Mawhorr) Vogelsong.He married Mary Barker on 4 - 16 - 1949. She preceded him 3 - 17 - 2006.
He's survived by his children, Arlette (Larry) McGill of Lafayette, La., Ralph (Marlene) Vogelsong of Napoleon, Annita Losey of Minneapolis. MN., Becky (John) Breckler of Sherwood, Jo (Ole) Barrera of Bryan, Polly (Charlie) Sulfridge of Hicksville, Rex (Nancy) Vogelsong of Archbold, Sandra Keesbury of Bryan, and Stephanie (Mark) Pyles of Santiago, Dominican Republic.28 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, brothers; William (Elizabeth) Vogelsong of Cecil, Howard (Juanita) Vogelsong of Sherwood, sister’s; Edna Beardsley and Sandra Vogelsong, both of Sherwood, and Joan Vogelsong, of Defiance.
He was proceeded by his parents, brothers; Kenneth Vogelsong, Harold Vogelsong, Jim Beardsley. Infant sisters, Barbara and Patricia Vogelsong
Arrangements are in care of Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon.
There will be no visitation. A private service will take place Saturday, May 25, 2013

Dwight F. Gerken, 70, of Hamler, Ohio died peacefully on Monday, May 20, 2013 at his residence. He was born April 28, 1943, in Marion Township, Ohio to the late Reinhold & Norma (Harms) Gerken. On May 9, 1964, he married Carol (Smith) Gerken at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Napoleon Township.
Dwight was a lifelong dairy and grain farmer. He was a member of the Angus Association and National Farmers Organization. He always looked forward to helping his children and grandchildren with their 4 - H cattle at the fair. He liked model trains and loved tending to his Angus cattle.
He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Hamler. He served in the US Army from 1966 - 1968 and was a member of the Hamler American Legion Post.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; stepmother, Margaret Gerken of Hamler; children, Steven (Adeline) Gerken of Deshler, Cynthia (Jed) Butler of Spring, Texas, and Leeann (Todd) Bockelman of Napoleon; grandchildren, Adam & Brooke Gerken, Aiden & Avery Gerken, Lydia & August Butler, Larkin Giesige, Brady, Lauder, and Brock Bockelman.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 23 at Hope Lutheran Church, Hamler, Ohio. Interment will follow at Hope - St. Stephen's Lutheran cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the Hamler American Legion.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2 - 8 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon and Thursday from 10 - 11 a.m. at the church.
The family suggests memorials to Hope Lutheran Church, Hamler or Cherry Street Mission, Toledo.

Hilda I. Drewes, 104, of Napoleon, Ohio passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the Lutheran Home in Napoleon, Ohio. She was born on October 2, 1908 in Adams Twp., Defiance County to the late William J. and Helen (Joost) Gerken. In February of 1932, she married Arthur Meineke at St. Marks Lutheran Church in Defiance, Ohio who preceded her in death on November 16, 1948. She later married Richard Drewes in December of 1957 who also preceded her in death in June of 1965.
She was a homemaker and a farmer, helping for years on the family farm. Drivers by would remember her on her riding mower until just a few years ago. She was also employed at the Farmers Mutual Telephone Company in Okolona, Ohio where she worked for 25 years. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Florida, Ohio where she was a charter member of the Ladies Aid and the LWML. She loved quilting at the church and at home, making quilts for all of her family and many loving friends. Hilda was a member of the Henry County Hospital Auxiliary where she worked in the hospital gift shop for many years and was also a member of the Ward L. Adams American Legion Auxiliary #454. Hilda will always be remembered by her great sense of humor and her loving kindness.
She is survived by her daughters; Janice (Marvin) Rabe of Napoleon, Ohio, and Margaret (Gary) Smith of Crossville, Tennessee; grandchildren; Jennifer (Scott) Plassman, Jeff (Deb Hayes) Rabe, Randal (Jeanne) Rabe, Anette (Rev. Jeff) Shanks, Greg (Karen) Smith, Rick Smith, great grandchildren; Jason (Sabrina) Plassman, Trevor (Jessica) Plassman, Spencer Plassman, Melissa (Erik) Nelson, Elizabeth Rabe, Jordan Shanks, Josiah Shanks, Chiara Smith, and Alexis Smith She was preceded in death by sisters; Amelia Nagel, Edna Nagel, brothers; Fred, Carl, Eldor and Victor Gerken, and a great grandson, Michael Rabe.
Funeral services will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Florida on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. officiating Pastor Robert Azinger. Interment will follow at Flatrock Township cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday at Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon, Ohio from 4 - 8 p.m. and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
Suggested memorial donations may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church Building Fund, St. Peter Pre - school Fund, or to Hospice of Henry County.
