Keith David Reitzel
Keith David Reitzel, age 74, of Edon, Ohio, died at 5:55 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2003 at the Medical College, Ohio from complications of injuries suffered in a January 11 traffic accident. Mr. Reitzel was a farmer and operated Reitzel Machinery Sales in Edon beginning in 1970. He then moved to business to Archbold in 1977 where he operated until 1998. He returned the business back to Edon in 1998. He was United States Army veteran and served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Edon and the Edon American Legion Post #662. He was member of the Moose Lodge in Montpelier, Ohio.
Keith David Reitzel was born June 7, 1928 in Perrysburg, Ohio the son of Raymond John and Ila Marie (Snyder) Reitzel. He married
Doris Hufford on December 4, 1954 in Perrysburg, Ohio and she preceded him in death in 1987. He then married
LaRue Held on November 12, 1988 in Blakeslee, Ohio and she survives.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two sons, K. David, Jr. (Linda) Reitzel, Kenneth (Gail) Reitzel, and one daughter, Kay (Kenneth) Vollmer all of Edon, Ohio. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, K. David III, Jacob, Joseph, Josie and Jimmy Reitzel and Crissy Missler, Carrie Sanders and Calli Vollmer, two sisters, Beverly McNeeley, of Toledo, and Mrs. Gordon (Marilyn) Goeckerman, of Perrysburg. He was also preceded in death by one granddaughter Kandythe Lee Reitzel.
Services for Keith David Reitzel will be Thursday, February 13, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Edon, Ohio with Pastor Daniel Beaudoin officiating. Burial will follow in the Edon cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by Edon American Legion Post #662. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home in Edon Ohio from 7 - 9 on Tuesday, February 11, and after 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12.

Homer P. Thomas
Homer P. Thomas, age 82, of rural Edgerton, Ohio died at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2003 in Harborside Care Center where he was a patient. Mr. Thomas was a World War II army veteran and a member of the Antwerp VFW. He was employed at General Motors in Defiance as an electric furnace operator retiring after thirty - one years of service. He also held a membership with the UAW - CIO.
Homer P. Thomas was born February 25, 1920 in Harlan, Kentucky the son of Adam Clay and Lizzie M. (Lawson) Thomas. He married
Carol J. Moore on May 11, 1967 in Elliott City, Maryland and she survives.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Thomas survived by two daughters, Connie Sue McDonald, of Mattoon Illinois and Linda Kay Vogel, of Montpelier, Ohio, and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Morris, two brothers, and three sisters.Services for Homer P. Thomas will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 14, 2003, in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio. Helen Catherine Goebel
Helen Catherine Goebel, age 87, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 5:15 a.m. on Friday, February 7, 2003, at Sutter Roseville Medical Center in Roseville, California, where she was a patient. Mrs. Goebel was a homemaker and formerly worked at Syncro and Edgerton Canning Factory and was the manager of Houk Locker & Restaurant. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Edgerton and the church's Rosary Altar Society.
Helen Catherine Goebel was born August 9, 1915, in Newville, Indiana, the daughter of Eugene and Margaret (Miller) DeLucenay. She married
Nial L. Goebel on October 6, 1936, in Waterloo, Indiana, and he preceded her in death in 1995. Mrs. Goebel is survived by four daughters, Beverly Curry, Greentown, Indiana, Mrs. Paul (Judith) Brown, Lincoln, California, Mrs. Chuck (Jeanette) Orr, Jackson, Michigan, and Dianna M. Goebel, Bryan, sixteen grandchildren, thirty - seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, five brothers, Harold (Hazel) DeLucenay, Spokane, Washington, Herman (Wanda) DeLucenay and Earl (Phyllis), both of Ashley, Indiana, Edward (Phyllis) DeLucenay, New Haven, Indiana, and Eugene (Nancy) DeLucenay, and one sister - in - law, Betty DeLucenay, Garrett, Indiana. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Francis Eugene Goebel, and one brother, Richard DeLucenay.
Services for Helen Catherine Goebel will be Saturday, February 15, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Edgerton, Ohio, with Fr. Thomas Oedy officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's cemetery. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home in Edgerton, Ohio, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 on Friday, February 14, with a recitation of the rosary at 8:00 p.m.

Lawrence L. Reinhart
Lawrence L. Reinhart, age 93, of rural Bryan, Ohio, died at 1:05 p.m. Friday, February 7, 2003 in Community Hospitals of Williams County in Bryan, Ohio where he was a patient since Tuesday. Mr. Reinhart was a lifelong farmer and was also employed by Issac Tire in Bryan for many years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Edgerton, and was a charter member, former Grand Knight, longtime recorder for Knight of Columbus Council #1494 in Edgerton, and was a 4th Degree Knight with the Bishop Rappe Assembly #824. He was also an avid fisherman and bowler and a member of the Moose Lodge in Bryan, Ohio.
Lawrence L. Reinhart was born February 15, 1909 in Philo, Illinois the son of Frank and Teresa (Schuerich) Reinhart. He married
Mary Catherine Wortkoetter on February 15, 1936 in Hicksville, Oho and she survives.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Reinhart is survived by three daughters, Virginia "Ginnie" (Tom) Brenner, of Bryan, Ohio, Mary Lou (Cletus) Radabaugh, of Blakeslee, Ohio, Dorthea (William) Roeger, of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, two sons, Tony Reinhart and Rex (Debra) Reinhart, both of Bryan, Ohio, eighteen grandchildren, twenty - four great grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Leonard Reinhart, in Florida, and two sisters, Ruth Foley, of Ft. Wayne, and Christine (Basil) Arend, of Wauchula, Florida. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Radabaugh, four brothers, James, Herbert, Raymond and Ralph Reinhart and two sisters, Mary Bradley and Edna Meyer.
Services for Lawrence L. Reinhart will be Monday, February 10, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Edgerton, Ohio with Fr. Thomas Oedy officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's cemetery. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home in Edgerton, Ohio after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, with recitation of the Rosary at 8:00 p.m. There will also be a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus service at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Earnest E. Goshorn
Earnest E. Goshorn, age 81, of Edon, Ohio died at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2003 in Community Hospitals of Williams County in Bryan after an extended illness. Mr. Goshorn was farmer and worked for Powers and Sons prior to employment by the Aro corporation in Bryan, Ohio, from where he retired with twenty - five years of service. He was World War II Army veteran and held membership at the Bethlehem Christian Union Church near Edon, Ohio.
Earnest E. Goshorn was born April 21, 1921 near Edon, Ohio the son of Harland Alton and Jennie Mable (Robb) Goshorn. He married
Helen I. McCrea on February 4, 1951 in Edon and she survives.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Goshorn is survived by four sons, Dennis (Diane) Goshorn, of, Edon, Ohio, Mark (Susie) Goshorn, of Farmer, Ohio, Craig Goshorn, of Florissant, Colorado, Jeffrey Goshorn, of Bryan, Ohio, four granddaughters, Laurel, Alicia, Stephanie and Melissa Goshorn, a step-granddaughter, Elizabeth Goshorn, and a step-grandson, Dustin Smetzer. Mr. Goshorn was preceded in death by one brother, Laurence Goshorn, and five sisters, Ethel Long, Lois Luke, Leona Austin, Doris and Donna Goshorn.
Services for Earnest E. Goshorn will be Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at 2:00 .m. in the Bethlehem Christian Union Church near Edon, Ohio with Pastor Willard McKinley officiating. Burial will follow in the Edon cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by the Edon American Legion Post #662. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home in Edon, Ohio from 2 - 5 and 7 - 9 p.m. on Monday, February 10.

DeWayne V. Peter
DeWayne V. Peter, age 80, of Farmer, Ohio, died at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 1, 2003, in his home after an extended illness. He was a farmer and had served in United States Army in the European theater during World War II. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bryan, Ohio and the Farmer American Legion.
DeWayne V. Peter was born November 13, 1922, in Milford Township of Defiance County, Ohio the son of Earl and Beatrice (Miller) Peter. He married
Blanche A. Lee on May 22, 1943 in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts and she survives.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Peter is survived by two daughters, Peggy L. (Daniel) Vermillion, of Bryan, Ohio, Deborah A. Hutchison, of Pioneer, Ohio, one son, Tim D. (Kathleen) Peter, of Edgerton, Ohio, three grandchildren, Jennifer Nichols, Jessica Timbrook, Kerrie Hutchison and seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Kermit Peter, of Hicksville, Ohio, and a sister, LaVerne Beard, of Kankakee, Illinois. He was preceded in death by one brother, Willard Peter.
Services for DeWayne V. Peter will be Tuesday, February 4, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the Trinity Lutheran Church, in Bryan, Ohio with Pastor Richard Buchsteiner officiating. Burial will follow in the Farmer cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by the Farmer American Legion. Visitation will be in the church on hour prior to the service on Tuesday

John M. Smith
John M. Smith, age 71, of Kendallville and longtime Edon, Ohio area resident died at 8:05 a.m., Sunday, January 26, 2003, shortly after admittance to Community Hospital of Noble County in Kendallville. Mr. Smith had resided in Kendallville since 1975 and was employed as an inspector at Hendrickson Suspension for thirty years prior to his retirement in 1994. He served as a medic with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in battle. He served as Scout Master with the Edon Boy Scouts for many years and was also a former member of the Edon American Legion Post #662. He attended Faith United Methodist Church in Kendallville.
John M. Smith was born in Edon, Ohio on November 20, 1931, the son of Ira and Alta (Luke) Smith. He married
Kathryn M. Thompson on June 19, 1954, in Edon, Ohio and she survives.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Smith is survived by two sons, Kent (Kathie) Smith, of Montpelier, Ohio, Jerry Smith, of Kendallville, Indiana, three grandchildren and six great grandsons. He was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter and one brother William Smith.
Services for John M. Smith will be Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio with Pastor Jim Toole, of Faith United Methodist Church in Kendallville officiating. Burial will follow in the Edon cemetery. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio from 4 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28.

Walter D. Fry
Walter D. Fry, age 63, of Butler, Indiana, died at 5:35 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2003, shortly after admittance to DeKalb Memorial Hospital in Auburn. Mr. Fry was employed by Universal Tool in Butler, Indiana for thirty - four years prior to his retirement. He was veteran of the Army National Guard based in Angola, Indiana and held a membership with Butler American Legion Post #202. He also was a member of Butler Eagles Aerie #2733.
Walter D. Fry was born June 12, 1939 in DeKalb County, Indiana, the son of James Leo and Bertha Mae (Garland) Fry. He married
Nancy M. Ordway on October 22, 1966 in Edgerton, Ohio and she survives.
Mr. Fry is also survived by three daughters, Lisa Fry, of St. Louis, Candace Simmons, in Arizona, Angela Clark, in California, three sons, Dale Eugene Clark, in California, Bradley D. (Deborah) Fry, of Fremont, Indiana, Duane A. (Traci) Fry, of Butler, Indiana, and nine grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Robert Fry, of Butler, Indiana, six sisters, Dorothy Jones, Ann Morris and Berdina Jones, all of Bryan, Ohio, Janet Collingsworth and Margaret Miller, both of Butler, Indiana and Donna Landel, of Edgerton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Services for Walter D. Fry will be Monday, January 20, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio with Pastor Darrol Haggen officiating. Burial will follow in the Butler cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by the Butler American Legion Post #202. Visitation will be at the Krill Funeral Home in Edgerton from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 p.m. on Sunday, January 19. Services will be conducted by the Butler Eagles at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday evening.Memorials in the name of Walter D. Harold A. Herrington
Harold A. Herrington, age 81, of rural Stryker, Ohio, died at 6:05 a.m. on Wednesday, January 1, 2003, in Community Hospitals of Williams County in Bryan, Ohio after an extended illness. Mr. Herrington was employed by the Ohio Art Company for nearly twenty years as a press room foreman and retired in 1985. He was a World War II Army veteran and held memberships in the Stryker American Legion #60 and the Bryan VFW. He was also a member of the Bryan Masonic Lodge and the Zenobia Shrine in Toledo, Ohio.
Harold A. Herrington was born October 24, 1921 in Bangor, Michigan, the son of Howard and Dessa I. (Harrington) Herrington. He married
Betty J. Miller on June 6, 1946 in Bryan, Ohio and she survives.
Mr. Herrington is also survived by one daughter, Loretta (Thomas) Cape, of Edgerton, Ohio, three sons, Kenneth (Jeanie) Herrington, of Stryker, Tommy (Jackie) Herrington, of Ney, and Timothy Herrington, of Stryker. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, one brother, Lloyd (Phyllis) Herrington, of Bryan, Ohio, and one sister, Rita Jean (Andy) Anderson, of Apache Junction, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one grandchild.
Services for Harold A. Herrington will be Saturday, January 4, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home in Edgerton, Ohio with Ted Mathes officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove cemetery, Edgerton, Ohio with graveside military rites conducted by the Stryker American Legion Post #60. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home in Edgerton from 4 - 8 p.m. on Friday, January 3.

Herman Craven
Herman Craven, age 91, of rural Edon, Ohio, died at 11:30 p.m., on Saturday, January 4, 2003, in Northern Lakes Nursing Center in Angola, Indiana after an extended illness. Mr. Craven was self - employed plumber for many years and also had been employed at K & L Wood Products in Hamilton, Indiana and Miller Concrete in Edon, Ohio.
Herman Craven was born March 31, 1911 in Wagoner, North Carolina, the son of Charlie and Lessie (Cockerham) Craven. He married
Kathryn Wilder on December 23, 1936 in Angola, Indiana and she survives.
Mr. Craven is also survived by one daughter, Shirley (Leon) Smith, of Edon, Ohio, one son, Dean Craven, also of Edon and one sister. He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters and one grandson, Mark Smith in 1991.
Graveside services for Herman Craven will be conducted by the family on Tuesday, January 7, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in Columbia cemetery near Columbia, Ohio. There will be no visitation. Krill Funeral Service in Edon, Ohio is in charge of arrangements.
