Margaret K. Driftmyer
(1909 - 2005)

BAY VILLAGE - Margaret Kathryn Driftmyer, 96, of Bay Village and formerly of Western New York and West Unity, died Tuesday evening, April 19, 2005, in the St. JohnÕs West Shore Hospital of Westlake.
Born April 1, 1909, at West Unity, to Ada (Eberly) and Chester Bistline, she married the Rev. Lester W. Driftmyer on Sept. 1, 1932, and he preceded her in death on June 3, 1992.
A graduate of Kunkle High School, she had attended Bowling Green State University for two years earning a teaching certificate. She was a substitute teacher in Rochester, N.Y. and also taught school in Kunkle for two years. She accompanied her husband in pastoring in the Western New York Conference of the United Methodist Church, retiring in 1969 and returning to West Unity.
A past member of the West Unity United Methodist Church, she was also a past member of the Senior Citizens of West Unity and the Carnation Library Club of West Unity.
Surviving are two daughters, Janet Poletta of Montpelier and Nancy Driftmyer of Bay Village; two granddaughters, Mrs. Harry (Jamie) Lutz of Montpelier and Mrs. Jesse (Cathy) Godsey of Edon; two grandsons, Michael (and wife, Rochelle) Dale of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Stephen (Lisa) Dale of Stoneham, Mass.; a granddaughter-in-law, Pamela Poletta of West Unity; seven great-grandchildren; and her sister, Mildred Bernath of Fort Myers, Fla.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Jane Ressler; her brother, David Frederick Bistline; and her grandson, David Lester Poletta.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 6-8 p.m. in the Hollingshead-Beck Funeral Home in West Unity. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the West Unity United Methodist Church with an hour of visitation prior to the services. The Rev. Ruth Ann Scoby is to officiate. Burial will be in Shiffler Cemetery, Bryan.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Albert "Doc" Perras
(1924 - 2005)

TOLEDO - Albert D. Perras, 80, of Toledo, died Monday, April 18, 2005, at the Northwest Ohio Hospice Center, Perrysburg.
Born July 20, 1924, in Pineville, Mo., he was the son of Minnie and Clyde Perras.
A physician for 40 years, he retired in 2000. He was a member of the American Medical Association, The Toledo Academy of Medicine and was formerly on the medical staff at St. Charles Hospital. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of American Legion Post No. 553.
Surviving are his wife, Donna (Colbow); sons, Douglas (and wife, Tamera) Perras and Craig Perras; a daughter, Mrs. Warren (Kathy) Perras-Karmol; a brother, Del (Lillian) Perras; seven grandchildren, including Lucas Henricks of the Bryan area; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Perras.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 5-9 p.m. and Friday from 2-9 p.m. in the Hoeflinger Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Ave. Toledo.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lake Twp. Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

Iris Arlene Hills
(1918 - 2005)

WALDRON, Mich. - Iris Arlene Hills, 86, of Waldron, died Monday, April 18, 2005, at her residence.
Born Oct. 2, 1918, at Hillsdale County, Mich. to Sadie (Gearig) and Dale Robison, she married Clifton Hills on Jan. 16, 1943, at Waldron and he preceded her in death on Aug. 27, 1971.
A lifelong Waldron area resident, she was a member of Waldron First Church of Christ and retired from Pioneer Transformer in 1982 with 10 years of service.
Surviving are two daughters, Janet Hills of Muskegon and Joanna Hills of Waldron.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband, were her parents; two sisters, Frances  Taylor and Mabel Seeley; and a brother, Willis Robison.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 6-8:30 p.m. in the Eagle Funeral Home, Waldron. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Waldron First Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Waldron Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Waldron First Church of Christ or Hospice of Hillsdale County.

Gloria Ann DeLine
(1936 - 2005)

MONTPELIER - Gloria Ann DeLine, 69, of Montpelier and a former longtime resident of Fulton County, died Tuesday, April 19, 2005, at Harborside Healthcare Northwestern Ohio-Bryan.
Born March 4, 1936, at  Johnson City, Tenn., she was the daughter of Margaret Ann (Minton) and Wilburn G. Sparks.
Retired in 2001 after approximately 10 years as a machine operator for Kamco Corp. in West Unity, she was a former member of the Williams County Senior Center in Montpelier.
Surviving are four sons, Gary (and wife, Teri) DeLine of Stryker, Larry (Connie) DeLine of Delta, David DeLine of Edgerton and Marion DeLine of Fostoria; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Betty) Warren of Bryan and Linda Chapa of Archbold; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Elizabeth Sparks; two half sisters, Margaret Ann Miller and Mary Louise Sparks; three infant sons; and a daughter, Mary Ann Mashigan in 1986. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-6 p.m. in the Thompson Funeral Home-Montpelier.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Davis to officiate.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Unit at Harborside Healthcare Northwestern Ohio-Bryan.

Frances V. Opdycke
(1917 - 2005)

ARCHBOLD - Frances V. Opdycke, 87, of Archbold, died Monday evening, April 18, 2005, at St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, shortly after arrival.
Born Nov. 18, 1917, near Fayette, to Lena (Doriot) and George Miller, she married Phillip Detter and he preceded her in death. She married Willard Opdycke on June 28, 1986, and he preceded her in death on June 28, 2002.
A graduate of the Moody Bible Institute of Chicago, she had attended the Chicago Academy of Arts. She worked for the American Medical Association in Chicago for many years and retired from Sheridan Manufacturing Co. in Wauseon. She attended the Central Mennonite Church near Archbold. Surviving are two brothers, Harold Miller of Wauseon and Donald (and wife, Lorene) Miller of Adrian, Mich., and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Lloyd Miller, Dale Miller and Kenneth Miller; and two sisters, Edith Beaverson and Hazel Wyse.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-8 p.m. in the Short Funeral Home, Archbold.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastors Jeffrey Smith and Wanda Stopher to officiate. Interment will follow in the Smith Cemetery, rural Wauseon. Memorials may be made to the Central Mennonite Church or to the donor's favorite charity.

Bernice M. Cotter
(1916 - 2005)

ARCHBOLD - Bernice M. Cotter, 88, of Archbold, died Tuesday morning, April 19, 2005, at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home in Montpelier where she had resided since Oct. 15, 2004.
Born Aug. 7, 1916, near Archbold, to Frances (Rupp) and Edward Burkholder, she married Lee Cotter on Feb. 6, 1937, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 1992.
A lifelong resident of the Archbold/West Unity area, she was a homemaker and designed and made special occasion candles. She was a volunteer Cherry Coat at the Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon, a member of the Archbold Garden Club and the Evangelical Mennonite Church in Archbold and its Ladies Aid.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. LaRue (Lana) Short of Archbold and Mrs. Dr. Harold (Lynda) Kaplan of Fairfax Station, Va.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, June Hinchcliff of Allentown, Pa.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Roger; and a brother, Kenneth Burkholder.
Visitation will be held Friday from 3-9 p.m. in the Short Funeral Home, Archbold.
Memorial services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Evangelical Mennonite Church with Pastors Thomas Louis and Charles Rupp to officiate. Interment will precede in the Pettisville Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
