Sandra K. Meiring
(Died September 17, 2012)

Sandra K. “Sandy” Meiring, age 58, of Wauseon, Ohio, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2012 at Ebeid Hospice Center in Sylvania., Ohio. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Sandra was born on January 28, 1954 to Ned and Maxine (Slight) Judson in Napoleon, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her father, Ned Judson, sister, Cheryl Hennig, and brother, Michael Judson. She is survived by her husband, Gerald Meiring, daughters, Amanda Fish (Josh) of Sylvania, Stacy Mosetti (Chris) of Toledo, Charlene Morris (Chip) of Neapolis, Megan Meiring of Wauseon, Monica Meiring of Wauseon, three grandchildren, Keely Fish, Mikaela Fish, Cheyenne Miller, mother, Maxine Judson of Napoleon, and sister, Sharon Michalski (Tim) of Sylvania.

Sandra was a 1972 graduate of Delta High School. Sandra married Gerald on October 3, 1991. She was employed at Sauder Woodworking in Archbold for 24 years, where she retired in 2012. She was a faithful member of Emmaus Lutheran Church in Wauseon where she loved to attend services and volunteer. Sandra also volunteered at Stars Unlimited, where her two daughters, Megan and Monica, and one granddaughter, Cheyenne, dance.

Sandra loved spending time with family and friends. She loved having cookouts and spending time outdoors. She loved the time she had playing and having fun with her three grandchildren, Keely, Mikaela and Cheyenne. Sandra also loved reading books, it was her favorite way to relax after a busy day.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Edgar - Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 21, 2012 at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Wauseon, with the Rev. Charles Althoff, officiating. Interment will follow in the Wauseon Union cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Ebeid Hospice Center in Sylvania. The family would like to thank the staff at Ebeid Hospice Center for their loving care and compassion.

Mildred Sigg
(October 10, 1917 - September 20, 2012)

Mildred Sigg, age 94, of Wauseon passed away Thursday September 20, 2012 in her home.

Funeral services will be held at the Edgar - Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon at 10:00am on Tuesday September 25, 2012 with Pastor Tyler Quillet officiating. Interment will follow in the Wauseon Union cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 - 8:00pm.

Heidi Lee Grime
(Died September 22, 2012)

Heidi Lee Grime, age 43, of Wauseon passed away unexpectedly late Saturday September 22, 2012 at the University of Toledo Medical Center. She was an LPN who was working home health care for the past 2 years.

Heidi was born on September 13, 1969 the daughter of Ron and Nancy (Doherty) Grime. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She loved watching tv and movies as well. Surviving are her children; Lynlee Reinking of Toledo, Joel Reinking and Koelton Fenton of Wauseon, her parents Ron and Nancy Grime of Wauseon and Grandmother; Lucille Grime of Wauseon.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday September 29, 2012 at Sara’s Garden in Wauseon with Pastor Donna Stutzman officiating. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to either the Graves’ Disease and Thyroid Foundation, P.O. Box 2793, Rancho Santa Fe, CA 92067, the American Lung Association, the Down’s Syndrome Association or the charity of the Donor’s choice.

Kenneth G. Rapp
(November 6, 1925 - September 26, 2012)

Kenneth G. Rapp, age 86, of Wauseon, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Heartland of Wauseon. Prior to his retirement he had been a lifelong carpenter.

Kenneth was born in Toledo, Ohio on November 6, 1925. In 1985 he married Florice Faling, and she survives. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII.

Surviving is his wife, Florice, of Wauseon; two daughters, Marjorie (Arlie) Free of Wauseon, Shirlee (Lyle) Bates of Wauseon; one son, Larry Rapp of Archbold; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; four half - sisters, Dorothy Galbraith of Lyons, Lois Gray of Wauseon, Mary (Allen) Rathburn of Arizona, Susan Decker of Colorado; and two half - brothers; Ronnie (Carol) McCance of Wauseon, and Richard McCance of Delta.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the Winameg cemetery, near Delta, with the Rev. Floyd Vincent, officiating. There will be no visitation. Edgar - Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon has been entrusted with arrangements.

Michael E. Nichols
(Died September 29, 2012)

Michael E. Nichols, age 44, of Wauseon, passed away Saturday night, September 29, 2012 at the University of Toledo Medical Center in Toledo. He had worked in shipping and receiving at the former Plastec in Wauseon.

Mike was born in Morenci, Michigan on August 9, 1968, the son of Bill and Joette (Altman) Nichols. On October 19, 1998 he married Rebecca Hough, and she survives. He was an Army Veteran. He was also a member of the Eagles Post 1357 in Garrett, Indiana.

Surviving besides his wife, Rebecca, is his father, Bill Nichols of Jacksonville, FL; his mother, Joette (Ron) Heimert of Garrett, IN; son, Brandon Nichols of Wauseon; daughter, Brooke Nichols of Wauseon; brother, Paul (Kristina) Nichols of Decatur, IN; sister, Renee (Pat) Myers of Garrett, IN; brother, Dennis (Tiffany) Cole of Toledo; sister, Sarah Cole of Toledo, and grandfather; Charles Altman of Wauseon. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Cole, brother; Matthew Cole, and grandmother; Phyllis Altman.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the Edgar - Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon, with Pastor James Nichols officiating. There will be no visitation. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Eagles Post 1357, S. Randolph St., Garrett, IN 46738.

Mary Ellyn Blank
(Died October 4, 2012)

Mary Ellyn Blank, age 78 of Wauseon Ohio, passed away in her home on Thursday October 4th, 2012 after a lengthy illness. She was surrounded by family and friends as she made her way to her eternal home in heaven.

Mrs. Blank was born on June 4, 1934 at home in Archbold Ohio to Richard and Mary Etta (Dominique) Lauber, now both deceased. She married Theodore Blank on June 16, 1956 who preceded her in death in March of 2009

She graduated as a registered nurse from St. Vincent Medical School of Nursing in 1955. She worked for Saint Vincent Hospital in the early 1960s. Mary Ellyn & Ted moved to Wauseon in 1965, and she was employed by Dr. R.K. Vogel in his private practice for over 20 years. She then started a career at the Fulton County Health Center in the Stress Unit and prior to retirement she finished her medical career in the Utilization Review Department completing a 50 years in nursing.

Mrs. Blank was a member of Saint Caspar Catholic Church in Wauseon and a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She and her husband Ted served at CYO youth co - coordinators, parish council, and several Toledo Diocesan Committees and Professional organizations throughout her life time. She was also a member of the Wauseon High School sports and music booster organizations and a patron the of the Fort Defiance Players Community Theatre.

Surviving are two sons, Jamie (Susi) Blank of Defiance, Jeff (Kathy) Blank of Holland, MI and a daughter, Jenny (Dale) Bates of Fayette. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Tony (Angie) Blank, Kris Blank, Lindsey (Joe) Metts, Tedd (Melanie) Blank, Bobby Blank, Mary Blank, Trisha (Brodie) Bates, and Tiffany Bates. Three great-grandsons, Anthony Blank, Jr., Alexander Blank, and Jackson Metts. Mary Ellyn is also survived by three brothers, Tom (Barb) Lauber of Naples, FL, Ed (Bonnie) Lauber of Archbold, Robert (Bonnie) Lauber of Wauseon and a sister, Pam (the late William) Chesnut of Spring, TX.

Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Monday Oct 8, 2012 at 11:00 am with Rev. Fr. Robert Holden officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Caspar cemetery. Visitation is on Sunday October 7th, 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00pm to 8:00 pm in the Pope John XXIII room of Saint Caspar Catholic Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Edgar - Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon.

Florence A. Roth
(Died October 7, 2012)

Florence A. Roth, age 93, of Archbold, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, early Sunday morning, October 7, 2012 at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold. She had worked as the executive secretary at the former Young Spring and Wire in Archbold for over 20 years.

Florence was born in Fulton County on April 14, 1919, the daughter of Sam C. and Vernie (Bowman) Rupp. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth A. Roth in 1971. She was also preceded in death by her parents; infant brother, George; sister, Alice Rupp; brothers, Charles, Ralph and Ray Rupp.

Surviving are her children; Veryl (Norma) Roth of Huntington, IN, LuAnn (Ronald) Fielitz of West Unity, OH, Samuel J. (Evangeline) Roth of Grand Rapids, MI, Virgil (Lynn) Roth of S. Pasadena, CA, Mary Ellen (Edward) Fambrough of Titusville, FL; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

A lifelong member of the Archbold Evangelical Church, she gave a lifetime of service to her church. She taught Sunday School for over 50 years, held Bible studies in her home, taught Bible classes at Zone and Fayette Schools, was involved with community migrant ministries, volunteered in a Drug and Rehabilitation Program in Alvordton, and was active in the Prison Ministries. In 1998 she was chosen Archbold’s “Citizen of the Year”.

There will be a “Celebration Life” at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 14, 2012, at the Archbold Evangelical Church, with Rev. Steve Shaffer, officiating. Interment will be in the Pettisville cemetery. Friends may call in the Chapel at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold on Saturday from 2:00 until 8:00 P.M. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Gideons International, Prison Ministries or Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home. Grisier Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with arrangements.

Doris E. Vonier
(March 4, 1924 - October 8, 2012)

Doris E. Vonier, age 88, of Wauseon passed away early Monday October 8, 2012 in her home. Prior to her retirement she had been the Switchboard Operator at the Fulton County Health Center for 25 years.

Mrs. Vonier was born on March 4, 1924 in Archbold, Ohio the daughter of the late Grover and the late Lena (Rupp) Merillat. On June 16, 1946 she married Cleo “Curly” Vonier and he preceded her in death in 1986. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church and also attended the Oasis Christian Fellowship in her later years, and a Charter member of the Wauseon VFW Auxiliary where she had held many offices including Past President. She was also a member and Past President of the Robinson - Gibbs American Legion Post in Wauseon. She loved playing euchre but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are children; Randy Vonier of Wauseon, Jolene Goldsmith of Wauseon, and Doug Vonier of Wauseon. Also surviving grandchildren Heather (Jeremy) Koster, Scott (Jenny) Vonier, Jennifer Goldsmith, Jimmy (Brittany) Goldsmith, Ryan (Shan) Vonier, Rachel (Eric) Long, also surviving are her 7 great grandchildren, Ben, Alec, Derek, Ashton, Ellis, Hattie and Paige and brother; Harold Merillat of Archbold.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Thursday October 11, 2012 at the Edgar - Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon with the Rev. Ruth Ann Scoby officiating. Interment will follow in the Wauseon Union cemetery. A luncheon will follow the funeral services at the VFW in Wauseon. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00pm where a VFW Auxiliary service will be held at 7:30pm. Online condolences may be made to the family at . The family requests that memorial contributions be made to either Community Health Professionals Hospice or the Fulton county Senior Center.

Ruby P. Fielitz
(Died October 20, 2012)

Ruby P. Fielitz, age 85, of Archbold, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon. Prior to her retirement she had been a volunteer at the former Detwiler Hospital in Wauseon and the Fulton County Health Center.

Ruby was born in Williams County, Ohio on September 27, 1927, the daughter of Vernon and Fern (Miller) May. On February 1, 1944 she married Archie Fielitz, and he survives. She was a member of the Archbold Evangelical Church.

Surviving is her husband, Archie; three sons, Roger (Mary Ann) Fielitz of Archbold, Duane (Jane) Fielitz of Defiance, Rodney (Sandy) Fielitz of Clarkdale, Arizona; grandchildren, Randy Fielitz, Jeffrey Fielitz, Kelly Patyk, Dillon Fielitz and Riley Fielitz. She is also survived by her brother, Merle May, of Lakeland, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mary Stoner.

Funeral services will be private and there will be no visitation. Interment will be in the Archbold cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Archbold Evangelical Church. Grisier Funeral Home in Archbold has been entrusted with arrangements.

Joseph H. Hein
(Died October 24, 2012)

Joseph H. Hein, age 64, of Delta, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee. He had been an Expediting Driver for Group IV in Toledo.

Joseph was born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 10, 1947, the son of Joseph and Mary (Juhola) Hein. Surviving him is one son, Alexander (Tina) Hein of Madison Heights, MI; two step-sons, Cody (Lesia) Capazo of Columbus, OH and Ben Capazo of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren, Christina Hein and David Capazo; and three sisters, Mary Robertson of Hilo, HI, Virginia (Ralph) Bennett of Ligonier, PA, and Carol Machan of Kensington, MD.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 12:00 on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Grisier Funeral Home in Delta. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the charity of the family’s choice. Grisier Funeral Home in Delta has been entrusted with arrangements.

Dennis R. Deeds
(September 4, 1963 - October 25, 2012)

Dennis R. Deeds, age 49, of Wauseon passed away unexpectedly Thursday October 25, 2012 in his home. Mr. Deeds worked for Gleason Construction in Holland, Ohio.

Mr. Deeds was born on September 4, 1963 in Toledo, Ohio the son of the late Franklin and Rose Deeds. He married the former Julie Honeywell and she survives. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the National Rifle Association, but playing with his grandson was his greatest joy.

Surviving besides his wife, Julie, is son Justin (Sarah) Deeds, grandson; Bronsyn, mother; Rose, four brothers; Walter (Sandra) Deeds of Holland, Ohio, Bob (Jennifer) Deeds of Tennessee, Tim (Angela) Deeds of Wauseon, Chuck Deeds of Metamora, four sisters; Deb (Mark) Householder of Swanton, Brenda (Ron) Shoemaker of Delta, Lisa (Randy) Beverly of Delta, Vicki (Mark) Murar of Lyons and 14 nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at the Edgar - Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon, with the Rev. Charles Althoff, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service.
