Esther K. Wilson, age 76, of Wauseon, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Heartland of Wauseon.

Arrangements are pending at the Edgar - Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon.

Junior Robert Bourn
(March 9, 1929 - January 28, 2015)

Junior Robert Bourn, age 85, of Wauseon passed away early Wednesday January 28, 2015 at the Fulton County Health Center. After his retirement as an Electrician from the Campbell Soup Company where he had worked for more than 25 years, he became an Ordained Minister in 1991 and went on to pastor the Faith Missionary Baptist Church near Traverse City, Michigan for 17 years, retiring in 2008.

Mr. Bourn was born on March 9, 1929 in Chesterfield Township, Fulton County, the only son (child) of the late Seth Lyman and the late Hazel (Kohn) Bourn. On August 11, 1950 he married the former Ilva Peters and she survives. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Wauseon. He came to know Christ as his Savior at age 21 and served Him the rest of his life. He immensely enjoyed preaching the Gospel to everyone. He was a US Navy veteran having served from 1947 until 1950.

Surviving besides his wife are children; Seth (Diane) Bourn of Melbourne, FL., Cheryl Bourn of Wauseon, Cynthia (Douglas) Evans of Fayette, Sandra Heising of Wauseon, Kathleen (Craig) Frank of Wauseon, Michael (Brenda) Canada of Stryker, and Melody Peters Royal of Miamisburg, Oh., along with 20 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death was daughter Tina Peters Graber, grandson Christian Michael Canada, great grandchildren Isaac Andrew Downing, Sylvie Soleil Heising and Jasper Henry Heising.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday February 3, 2015 at the Faith Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Titus officiating. Interment will follow in the Bayes cemetery. Friends may call at the Edgar - Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon from 4:00 - 7:00pm on Monday and from 10:00am until service time on Tuesday. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to either the Faith Missionary Baptist Church, PO Box 6837 Traverse City, Mi 49696 or Faith Baptist Church in Wauseon. Evelyn Stoltz
(April 21, 1919 - January 29, 2015)

Mary Evelyn Stoltz passed away on January 29, 2015 at the age of 95. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence and the late Susie (Sheckler) Stark.

Known to all as Evelyn, she lived her entire life in Ohio. Born in Bucyrus, she grew up in Liberty Center and after her marriage to Ralph Stoltz in 1950, moved to Wauseon. The last several years of her life were spent at Emeritus at Hillenvale in Mount Vernon where she moved to be closer to her daughter.

Evelyn was very active in Christ United Methodist Church in Wauseon, where she was a long time member. While her children were growing up, the entire family sang in the church choir and she continued to do so until she was in her 80s. Gardening was her passion, and she was generous with gifts of produce to neighbors and friends. Evelyn knitted during the long winter months when it was difficult to get outside and the church benefitted from the many knitted items she donated to the annual Church Bazaar. She was a former member of the Wauseon Women’s Club and the United Methodist Women.

Always supportive of her daughters’ extracurricular activities, Evelyn attended many softball games, tennis matches, and band and choir concerts. After her husband’s death in 1992, she continued to actively attend concerts, plays and Wauseon High School football games with a circle of friends. She liked to laugh but was also known for her tenacity, persistence and spunk. This earned her the nickname “Sparky” from the staff and residents at Emeritus, where she brought joy and laughter to others.

Evelyn was predeceased by her sister Helen Spiess and her husband Ralph Stoltz. She is survived by her daughters Beverly Saksa and Brenda Bailey - Hainer.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Wednesday February 5, 2015 at the Christ United Methodist Church, 215 N. Fulton St., in Wauseon with Pastor Ruth Ann Scoby officiating. Interment will follow in the Wauseon Union cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 2:00 - 6:00pm. The Edgar - Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon has been entrusted with arrangements.

James E. Kiefer
(Died June 8, 2015)

James E. “Jim” Kiefer, age 64, of Stryker, passed away in his home on Monday, June 8, 2015. Jim and his wife Nancy have owned and operated Jacoby Packing in West Unity for 15 years.

Jim was born in Perrysburg on October 22, 1950, the son of Charles and Janice (Henry) Kiefer. On October 29, 1977 he married Nancy Snyder, and she survives. Jim loved riding his Harley - Davidson Motorcycle.

Surviving is his wife, Nancy; son, Josh (Amanda) Kiefer of Bowling Green; daughter, Valerie Kiefer of Stryker; grandchildren, Lillian and Emma Snow and Adelaide and Jacob Kiefer. He is also survived by brothers, Bob (Linda) Kiefer and Steve Kiefer, both of Perrysburg and sister, Judy (Gator) Rice of Perrysburg. He was preceded in death by parents.

A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held from 12:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at the family’s home at 20379 Co. Rd. H, Stryker, Ohio. The family encourages everyone attending to dress casual. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be given to Community Health Professionals Hospice of Bryan or the charity of the donor’s choice. Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker has been entrusted with arrangements.

Mildred I. Durbin
(Died February 2, 2015)

Mildred Irene Durbin, age 90, of Archbold, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015 at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice.

Born June 22, 1924, to James H. and Emily Jane (Larimer) Hockman, Mildred was raised on a Logan County farm with siblings Charles, Margaret, Orla and Lola, all of whom she survived.

Twice married and widowed—Albert L. Taylor (1955 to 1967) and Robert J. Durbin (1974 to 2002)—Mildred was always the beloved and respected matriarch of her appreciative stepfamily—children Jennifer and Stephen Durbin, John and Terry Taylor, Eric and Diane Durbin, Michael and Mary Ann Durbin, and Sister Maria Engracia (Deborah Uhl née Durbin), 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Living through the Great Depression and WWII, careers in the public and private workplace, losing her first husband too early, caring for her second husband in his decline, plus her own native sharpness and common sense, resulted in a woman whose strength of character and wry humor was admired by all her knew her well.

Even during her last illness, she relentlessly deflected questions about herself in favor of collecting and sharing the doings of Stefanie, Maddie or Sasha and the rest of the family she loved.

Mildred’s only weakness was a fondness for Ohio State football, for which she compensated by her service to the District and local United Methodist Church, Gideons International Auxiliary, Fairlawn Auxiliary, Senior Center Advisory Board, and Board of Elections as a poll worker.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at the Archbold United Methodist Church, where a Celebration of Mildred's Life will immediately follow, with the Rev. David David, officiating. Interment will be in the Archbold cemetery at a later date. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Archbold United Methodist Church Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Grisier Funeral Home in Archbold.

Shirley Loretta Ann Wolf
(May 17, 1931 - February 6, 2015)

Shirley Loretta Ann Wolf, age 83, of Wauseon passed away peacefully early Friday morning, February 6, 2015.

Shirley was born on May 17, 1931 in Romulus, Michigan, the daughter of the late Clarence E. and the late Rose Elsie (VanderVoort) Shaw. Surviving are two sons; David (Julie) Wolf of Fairfax Station, VA, Tim (Vicki) Wolf of Liberty Center, OH, daughter Rose (Greg) Witt of Wauseon OH, daughter - in - law Judy Wolf of Maumee OH, brother Jack Shaw of Riverview, MI; her grandchildren Justin, Kourtney, Nate, Adam, Matt, Beth, and Shane Wolf and Emily and Gabe Witt. Also surviving are 9 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her son, John Wolf, sister, Florence Weirich and brother, Robert Shaw.

Prior to her retirement she had been a Childcare provider to many generations of local families. She was a member of the Wauseon American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with family & friends. Friends may call at the Edgar - Grisier Funeral Home on Monday, February 9, 2015 from 3:00 - 7:00pm. A memorial service will be held at Edgar - Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon on Tuesday February 10, 2015 at 10:30am with Duane and Jon Bradner officiating. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Henry County Hospice.

Reva V. Page
(May 17, 1940 - February 10, 2015)

Reva V. Page, age 74, of Stryker passed away unexpectedly late Tuesday February 10, 2015 in her home. Prior to her retirement she had worked for Gendron and Fayette Tubular in Archbold.

Mrs. Page was born on May 19, 1940 in Judsonia, Arkansas the daughter of the late Leo and the late Frances (Selvidge) Ferren. She was a member of the Bryan Eagles. Surviving is daughter Roxann (Richard) Wolfe of Wauseon, son Richard (Barb) Page of De Graff, OH, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are siters; Arveta Ramsey of Columbia City, IN, and Theresa Sturgeon of Benton Harbor, MI. Preceding her in death besides her parents was a nephew, Eddie Sturgeon.

There are no services scheduled at this time.

Sherwin William Pike
(January 24, 1955 - February 11, 2015)

Sherwin William Pike, age 60, of Hicksville and formerly of Toledo, Ohio and the Lark Lane Center in Toledo passed away late Wednesday February 11, 2015 at Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne. He had work with the Quadco Rehabilitation Center in Stryker.

Mr. Pike was born on January 24, 1955 the son of the late Rev. George and the late Grace Mary (Rabausch) Pike, Sr. He was a graduate of Edgerton High School. He enjoyed attending the Fort Wayne Komets Hockey games with his brother, George.

Surviving is daughter; Dawn Karralis of Port Huron, Michigan, brothers; George Pike, Jr. of Hicksville, Dwight (Donna) Pike of Fort Myers, Florida, sisters; Ruth Holcombe of Tiffin, Ohio, and Joanne Koeple of Edgerton. Also surviving are nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday February 17, 2015 at the Stryker United Methodist Church in Stryker with Pastor Jim Ernst and Pastor Tom Nedderson officiating. Interment will follow in the Maple Grove cemetery in Edgerton. Friends may call at the Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker from 2:00 - 8:00pm on Monday. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army. Online condolences may be made to the family at . Betty L. Perkins
(August 29, 1937 - February 13, 2015)

Betty L. Perkins joined her husband Archie, her mother and father; Cora and James Hollie Williamson, and others who loved her on Friday February 13, 2015. Together they are praising our Savior Jesus Christ.

Betty was born on August 29, 1937 in Lenoir City, TN. She is survived by her sons, Edwin L. (BJ) and Gregory (Debra), numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also residing in Lenoir City TN are sisters Ernestine Shaver and Jackie McBride and brother Bobby Joe Williamson. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Betty had a very deep Christian faith was a member of the Fox Hill Road Baptist Church in Hampton VA. She was also a member of the Red Hats.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00pm Tuesday March 3, 2015 at the Crossroads Evangelical Church with Pastor Matt Boyers officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 6:00pm until service time. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to either the Community Health Professionals Hospice, 6825 State Route 66 N, Defiance, OH 43512 or Fox Hill Road Baptist Church, 335 Fox Hill Road, Hampton, VA 23669. Maurice D. Boetz
(Died February 18, 2015)
U.S. Veteran

Maurice D. Boetz, age 87, of Stryker, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the Community Hospitals and Wellness Center – Bryan. Prior to his retirement in 1985 he had worked in construction for Baker and Schindler for 30 years. After retirement he worked for Planson’s Farms in Stryker and also as a security guard for Sauder’s in Archbold.

Maurice was born in Evansport, on June 18, 1927, the son of Augusta and Germaine Boetz. On August 28, 1971 he married Doris Wilcox, and she survives. He was an Army Veteran of WWII, having served in the Panama Canal. He was a lifetime member of the Defiance VFW. He enjoyed landscaping, mowing his yard, and taking care of his beloved wife. He also enjoyed his dog, Muffy, his cats, and watching old time Westerns.

Surviving, besides his wife, Doris are his children, Daniel (Pam) Boetz of Stryker, Diane (Matthew) Gloor of Napoleon, David (Deb) Boetz of Bryan, and Doty Schmidt of Bryan; two step-sons, Anthony (Meta) Fitzenrider of Bryan and Timothy Fitzenrider of Napoleon. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and sister, Madeline Hall of Defiance. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Dorenne Boetz and Donna King; brother, George Boetz; and step-son, Tom Fitzenrider.

Visitation for Maurice will be held from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M. on Friday, February 20, 2015 at the Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker, where the funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 P.M., with Pastor John MacFarlane, officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakwood cemetery in Stryker, with Veteran Services provided by the Yackee - Strong American Legion Post 60. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the American Cancer Society.

Mary Beth Doriot
(Died February 18, 2015)

Mary Beth (McGowan) Doriot, age 61, of Stryker, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, in care of hospice and nursing staff at Evergreen Manor in Montpelier, surrounded by her family. Prior to her retirement, Mary had worked as a medical secretary for Community Hospitals and Wellness Center – Bryan and also the Defiance Regional Hospital.

Mary was born in Wauseon, on January 23, 1954, the daughter of Lowell McGowan and the late Anna (Clark) McGowan. Mary attended Stryker Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed making crochet, knit and sewing crafts.

Surviving are her two sons, Andrew (fiancé, Darlene) Doriot of West Unity and Nicholas (Kelly) Doriot of Pelzer, SC. Six grandchildren, Logan, Breanna, Emma, Nico, Jaks and Aeowyn; and her Father, Lowell (Gladys) McGowan of Montpelier. Also surviving is one brother, William (partner, Craig) McGowan of Ft. Wayne, IN.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna McGowan and brother, Charles McGowan.

Visitation for Mary will be held on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 12:00 – 3:00 P.M. and 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker. The funeral service will immediately follow at 700 P.M. with Pastor Walter Hicks, officiating. In lieu of flowers or plants, memorial donations can be made to the Community Tissue Services of Northwest Ohio.
