Carmen (Patterson) Arnold
(1954 - 2006)

RIVERVIEW, Fla. - Carmen (Patterson) Arnold, 52, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, at Riverview, Fla.
Born Aug. 17, 1954, at Bryan, Ohio, she was the daughter of Irma L. (Adams) and Clarence Patterson Jr.
She was a graduate of Hilltop High School, West Unity, Ohio.
Surviving are her fiance, Ricky Lee Riley of Riverview; two brothers, Robert W. (and wife, Sherry) of West Unity and Ike (Tina) Patterson of Oak Harbor, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Gerry (Claudia) Ruihley of Lexington, Ohio and Mrs. Don (Virginia) Funnell of Greensburg, Pa.; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A family service was held Oct. 9 at Stowers Brandon Chapel in Brandon, Fla.

Sandra J. Mack
(1947 - 2006)

Sandra J. Mack, 59, of Bryan, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2006, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Bryan.
Born May 17, 1947, at Dearborn, Mich., to Beverly (Brown) and Edward Pelkins, she married Verl Mack and he survives in Bryan.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Scott (and wife, Jennifer) King of Wyandotte, Mich.; and a daughter, Mrs. Mike (Victoria) Gleason of Brownstown, Mich.
There will be no visitation or funeral services at this time. Burr Funeral Home & Crematory is handling arrangements.

Rhoda S. Giesige
(1942 - 2006)

SHERWOOD - Rhoda S. Giesige, 64, of Sherwood, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006, at her residence.
Born April 3, 1942, at Delphos, to Ruth (Edds) and Forrest Ford, she married Ronald W. Giesige on Oct. 9, 1970, and he survives.
A resident of Sherwood since 1978, she had worked as an orderly at Defiance Hospital for about eight years, retiring in 1984.
She was a member of the House of Prayer church in Montpelier and had raised orphaned animals. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother, Ruth Ford of Defiance; four sons, Rodney (and wife, Nancy) Giesige of Wauseon, Tom (Beth) Giesige of Sherwood, Tony (Nannette) Giesige of Defiance and Ron (Miranda) Giesige Jr. of Sherwood; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Larry (Cheryl) McKeeghan of Maricopa, Ariz., Mrs. Eric (Laura) Morrison of Continental, Mrs. Jim (Arlene) Okuley of Defiance and Mrs. Daryl (Nancy) McCullough of Cloverdale; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; 10 stepgrandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Robert (Colleen) Mason of Glendale, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her father and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday from 2 - 9 p.m. in the Lawson - Roessner Funeral Home and Saturday from 9 - 10 a.m. in the Church of the Nazarene, 1656 Jefferson Ave., Defiance.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the church with the Rev. Don Harris to officiate and the Rev. Carol Retcher to assist. Interment will be at Sherwood cemetery, Sherwood.
Memorials may be made to the Defiance County Hospice.

Terry Shaffer
(1955 - 2006)

Terry D. Shaffer, 51, of Bryan, died Tuesday evening, Oct. 10, 2006, at his residence.
Born March 8, 1955, at Bryan, he was the son of Lena I. (Repp) and William H. Shaffer.
Surviving are his daughter, Crystal Shaffer of Bryan; a son, Dwight Shaffer of Lima; grandchildren, Shina Shaffer of Defiance, Haden Shaffer of Montpelier and Alexis, Kaleb and Colten Rose of St. Joe, Ind.; brothers, Loren Shaffer of Stryker, Paul Shaffer of Ashland, Ky., Marlin Shaffer of Bryan and John Shaffer of Bryan; and a sister, Vickie Shaffer of Bryan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gerald Shaffer; and a sister, Glenna Shaffer. Memorial services will be Saturday at 8 p.m. in the Grace Community Church with the Rev. Mike Kelly to officiate. Arrangements are by the Oberlin - Ford Funeral Home, Bryan.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the family in care of Oberlin - Ford Funeral Home.

Kathy A. Keller
(1964 - 2006)

Kathy A. Keller, 42, Bryan, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2006, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Bryan.
Born July 19, 1964, at Bryan, she was the daughter of Sharon R. (Clark) and John W. Keller, who survive in Bryan.
A 1986 graduate of Sunnyside School, she was employed at Quadco Rehabilitation Center from 1986 to 1996. She attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Bryan.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by maternal grandparents, Boyd and Arlene Clark of Bryan; paternal grandparents, Robert and Carmie Keller of West Unity; an aunt, Mrs. Kevin (Lana) Tucholski of Maumee; three cousins, Andrew, Nicholas and Audrey Tucholski of Maumee; and her "best buddie, " Megan Freudenberger of Ney.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2 - 8 p.m. in the Thompson Funeral Home, Montpelier.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Bryan, with Pastor Richard W. Buchsteiner to officiate. Interment will be in Fountain Grove cemetery, Bryan.
Memorials may be made to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers Share Foundation or Bryan EMS.

Annie Irene Nickels
(1928 - 2006)

Annie Irene Nickels, 78, of Bryan, died Monday evening, Oct. 9, 2006, at Hillside Country Living.
Born April 4, 1928, at Spencerville, Ind., to Laura (Grill) and David Baughman, she married Marvin L. Nickels on June 5, 1947, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 1978.
A homemaker, she had worked for Dr. David Brown and the Williams Clinic in Stryker prior to her retirement.
Surviving are a son, Leroy Nickels of Bryan; a daughter, Marsha Rice of Bryan; granddaughters, Kristina Nickels of Stryker and Kelly Nickels of Defiance; and great-granddaughters, Kylee and Kayce Nickels of Stryker.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Michael Nickels; and 12 brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be Friday from 10 - 11 a.m. in the Burr Funeral Home & Crematory.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Fred Brandon to officiate. Burial will follow at Maple Grove cemetery, Edgerton.
Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Club or the Alzheimer's Association.

G. Jeanette Mosier
(1939 - 2006)

G. Jeanette Mosier, 67, rural Bryan, died early Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006, at the home of her daughter near Alvordton, following a battle with cancer.
Born Sept. 15, 1939, at Montpelier, to Leota (Walters) and Vernice Echler, she married Robert P. Dangler Sr. and he preceded her in death on Oct. 19, 1979. She then married Garry D. Mosier Sr. of Bryan on Jan. 26, 1990, and he survives.
A Montpelier resident until 1990, she then relocated to Bryan.
Retired in 2001 as a route driver with Fisher Automatic Service of Bryan, she formerly had been employed at Ohio Art Company, Bryan, for over 20 years.
She was a member of Montpelier Eagles Auxiliary, Bryan Eagles Auxiliary, Bryan Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and AMVETS Auxiliary.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Robert (and wife, Dodi) Dangler of Sherwood; three daughters, Sandy Dangler (and special friend, Joyce Beatty) of West Unity, Mrs. Fred (Sally) Bleikamp of Alvordton and Mrs. Robert (Peggy) Bowen of Montpelier; nine grandchildren, Christopher (Stacey) Bleikamp, Garry Bleikamp, Zackary Dangler, Stacy Bleikamp, Josa Beatty, Stephanie Bowen, Sabrina Bowen, Riley Dangler and Austin Bidlack; two great-grandchildren, Jaden and Jacy Bleikamp; her mother - in - law, Mrs. Lawrence (Edith) Hopkins of Bryan; three brothers, Norman (Mary) Echler of Montpelier, Raymond (Sue) Echler of Edon and William Brownell (Mary) Echler of Decatur, Ill.; and two sisters, Phyllis Fitzenrider of Montpelier and Mrs. Forest (Gertrude) Brown of Camden, Mich.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her first husband, were her parents; a daughter, DorMae Dangler on July 18, 1989; three brothers, Roger, Richard and Donald Echler; and two sisters, Glenadee Towers and Margaret Miller.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. in the Wilson - Geesey Funeral Home, Montpelier. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Mike Beasley to officiate. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Montpelier.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Williams/Fulton Counties or Cancer Assistance of Williams County.

Sarah E. Bair
(1920 - 2006)

Sarah E. Bair, 86, Bryan, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, at Community Hospital and Wellness Centers - Archbold.
Born Jan. 17, 1920, at Findlay, to Barbara (Poe) and Paul Barkimer, she married Samuel J. Bair and he preceded her in death on Oct. 26, 1972.
A homemaker, she was a member of the New Hope Community Church, Bryan, where she was a part of the Women's Missionary Fellowship.
Surviving are three daughters, Miriam Oswalt of Swanton, Mrs. Michael (Elaine) Worman of Industry, Ill. and Marilyn Guilford of Hicksville; two sons, Carl (and wife, Phyllis) Bair of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Neil Bair of Bryan; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Martha Riley of St. David, Ariz., and Naomi Weaver of Plainfield, Mich.; and a brother, Keith Barkimer of Albuquerque, N.M.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Jerry E. Bair. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3 - 8 p.m. in the Burr Funeral Home and Crematory, Bryan. Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the New Hope Community Church with the Rev. George Kreger to officiate. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in the Sherman cemetery near Charloe.
Memorials may be made to the church, Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers Hospice program, the Community Pregnancy Centers of Bryan or an agency of the donor's choice.

Donald L. Gruver Sr.
(1916 - 2006)

EDGERTON - Donald L. Gruver Sr., 90, of Edgerton, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Montpelier where he was a patient.
Born Feb. 27, 1916, at Rensselaer, Ind., to Helen (Ramey) and Floyd Gruver, he married Ruby B. Obendorf on Feb. 26, 1939, at Newville, Ind., and she survives.
He had operated Gruver's Grocery in Edgerton for 17 years and then was employed by Lutterbein Company for 19 years.
A member of the Edgerton United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men, he was involved with the local food bank for over 50 years and retired in 2005 after serving many years as chairman of the food pantry.
He served many years as treasurer of the Ministerial Association, and was instrumental in starting Cub Scouts in Edgerton and served as cub master in the 1950s. He had also served on the Edgerton tree commission for many years and, in 1994, he and his wife Ruby were named Citizens of the Year in Edgerton.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Donald L. Gruver Jr. of Bryan; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Carl Gruver of Pioneer; and a sister, K. Betty Thomas of Ocala, Fla. He was preceded in death by a son, William C. Gruver; a daughter, Marilyn Madoux; two brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 - 8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the Edgerton United Methodist Church with Pastor Tim Gleason to officiate. Burial will follow in Maple Grove cemetery, Edgerton.
Memorials may be made to the church or to the Edgerton Food Pantry.

Larry Bishop
(1947 - 2006)

Larry E. Bishop, 59, Bryan, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, at his residence. Born June 9, 1947, at Bryan, he was the son of Louise (Priar) and Louis Bishop.
A 1965 graduate of Bryan High School, he had attended Bowling Green State University. He was a veteran of the United States Marines, having served during the Vietnam Conflict.
Retired from Con - Agra Foods (formerly LaChoy) in Archbold, he was a member of the First Brethren Church of Bryan, the Bryan D.A.V., the Montpelier Eagles and the National Rifle Association.
He is survived by his parents; a son, Heath (and wife, Anne - Marie) Bishop of Bellevue, Neb.; two daughters, Destiny Purcell (Andrew Blaine) and Kristin Hayes, both of Archbold; three grandchildren, Ashley Bishop of Bellevue and Llydia Blaine and Jasper Purcell, both of Archbold; and a brother, Thomas (Orty) Bishop of San Antonio, Texas.
Preceding him in death was a brother, Michael Bishop.
Visitation will be Sunday from 1 - 4 p.m. in the Burr Funeral Home and Crematory, Bryan. Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Fred Brandon and the Rev. Sam Shultz to officiate. Burial will follow in the Fountain Grove cemetery, Bryan.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, the First Brethren Church or an organization of the donor's choice.
