Rilla Aletzia (Bohner) Kunsman
(1922 - 2006)

MONTPELIER - Rilla Aletzia (Bohner) Kunsman, 84, of Montpelier, died late Friday morning, Aug. 18, 2006, at the home of her son in Montpelier following a lingering illness. Born Feb. 3, 1922, in Steuben County, Ind., to Ida (Kline) and Earl Sheldon Wolff, she married Carl V. Bohner and he preceded her in death in July 1978. She then was married to William J. Kunsman on June 16, 1996, and he preceded her in death in September 2005.
A 1940 graduate of the former Metz, (Ind.) High School, she had been a Williams County resident most of her life. She resided in Montpelier for many years, then in Edon from 1996 until 2005 when she relocated back to Montpelier.
A homemaker, she had retired in 1982 from what is now Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Montpelier, where she had been employed as a cook for many years.
She was a member of Central United Brethren Church, Montpelier.
Surviving are two sons, Joseph P. (and wife, Shirley) Bohner of Holgate and Daniel L. (Brenda) Bohner of Montpelier; six stepchildren, Connie Bidwell of Edon, Mrs. Ronald (Judy) Long of Springville, Ala., Jerry Kunsman and Michael (Gail) Kunsman, both of Yuba City, Calif., William J. (Sharon) Kunsman Jr. of Lancaster, Calif., and Robert (Melinda) Kunsman of Bryan; seven grandchildren, Joseph R. (Debra) Bohner, Leslie V. (Carolyn) Bohner and Brian Levi Bohner, all of Montpelier, Christopher (Pam) Bohner of Antwerp, Monica Gilcher of Sandusky, Wendy R. Kyle of Angola, Ind. and Mrs. John (Beth) Dye of Bryan; four stepgrandchildren, Michalle Schoeamacher and Alan Birchmeier, both of Defiance, Mrs. Frank (Bridgette) Bartoe of Holgate and Mrs. Doug (Heather) Custer of Montpelier; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be in Wilson - Geesey Funeral Home, Montpelier, on Sunday from 2 - 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. in Central United Brethren Church, Montpelier, with Pastor Mike Martinelli to officiate. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Montpelier.
Memorials may be made to the church.

Vernon R. Nutter
(1925 - 2006)

Vernon Robert "Bob" Nutter, 80, of Bryan, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2006, at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home, Montpelier, where he had been a resident the past two weeks. Born Nov. 3, 1925, at Montpelier, to Virginia Ann (Allman) and Wilton Vernon Nutter, he married Phyllis Lucille Crozier on Nov. 5, 1955, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Elmore. She preceded him in death on Jan. 5, 1997.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was a purchasing agent for Ohio Art Company. He was previously employed by the ARO Corporation and Bard Manufacturing.
A member of the First Presbyterian Church, Bryan, he was also a member of the Bryan Moose Lodge No. 1064 and had previously been active with the Bryan Masonic Lodge No. 215 and the Bryan Eagles Aerie 2233.
Surviving are a son, Robert "Rob" (and wife, Katrina) Nutter of Winchester, Va., and grandchildren, Sarah, Michael and Stephen Nutter, also of Winchester.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 6 - 8 p.m. and Monday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Rob Marrow to officiate. Interment will follow in Shiffler cemetery, rural Bryan.
Memorials may be made to any food pantry of the donor's choosing.

Marcella M. Gee
(1928 - 2006)

MONTPELIER - Marcella M. Gee, 78, of Montpelier and formerly of Waldron, Mich., died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2006, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Bryan. Born March 1, 1928, at Tucson, Ariz., to Mary E. (Warner) and Leon Johnson, she married Richard E. Gee on Oct. 14, 1949, at Montgomery, Mich., and he preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 2003. A resident of Waldron, Mich. for approximately 52 years, she had graduated from Montpelier High School in 1946.
A homemaker, she had also owned and operated Gee's Inc. in Montpelier for five years and prior to that had owned and operated Rowe's Recreation for three years.
She was a member of the Montpelier Eagles Auxiliary.
Surviving are a son, Terry Gee of Pioneer; three daughters, Cheri Day of Montpelier, Mrs. Avelino (Bonnie) Gonzales of Montpelier and Mrs. James (Connie) Madell of Eustis, Fla.; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, David (and wife, Pam) Lash of Bryan and nieces survive.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Davey Lash; a brother, Paul Johnson; and one niece.
Visitation will be held Monday from 3 - 8 p.m. in the Thompson Funeral Home, Montpelier.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Homer L. Miller to officiate. Interment will be at Evergreen cemetery, Ransom, Mich.
Memorials may be made to Hospice, The Caring Way, of Williams and Fulton Counties.

Phyllis A. Westmeyer
(1940 - 2006)

PIONEER - Phyllis A. Westmeyer, 66, of Pioneer, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006, as the result of an automobile accident at Fulton County Road 22 and U.S. 20A. Born Feb. 20, 1940, at Concord, N.C., to Bettie G. (Porter) and Conway S. Helms, she married Stephen A. Westmeyer on Jan. 9, 1970, at Kokomo, Ind., and he also died Aug. 15, 2006, as a result of the accident.
She had been a homemaker.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Jeffrey (Wanda) Fields of Pioneer; three sons, Gregory (and wife, Pamela) Caldwell of Gas City, Ind., Timothy (Melissa) Caldwell of New Braunfels, Texas, and Michael A. (Carrie Black) Westmeyer of Delta; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Larry 'Buddy' (Stella) Helms of Concord, N.C.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 - 8 p.m. in the Thompson Funeral Home, Montpelier.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Montpelier, with the Rev. David E. Tilly and Father Fred Duschl to officiate. Interment will be in Floral Grove cemetery, Pioneer.
Memorials may be made to the family.

Stephen A. Westmeyer
(1949 - 2006)

PIONEER - Stephen A. Westmeyer, 56, of Pioneer, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006, as the result of an automobile accident at Fulton County Road 22 and U.S. 20A.
Born Oct. 2, 1949, at Toledo, to Ruth M. (Horen) and Walter E. Westmeyer, he married Phyllis A. Helms on Jan. 9, 1970, at Kokomo, Ind. and she also died Aug. 15, 2006, as a result of the accident.
A 1967 graduate of Libbey High School, he also received a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Toledo. In 1968 he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam as a K - 9 handler in the M.P.s from 1968 to 1975.
For the last 33 years, he had worked for the U.S. Post Office as a mail processor.
Surviving are his parents, Walter and Ruth Westmeyer of Toledo; a daughter, Mrs. Jeffrey (Wanda) Fields of Pioneer; three sons, Gregory (and wife, Pamela) Caldwell of Gas City, Ind., Timothy (Melissa) Caldwell of New Braunfels, Texas, and Michael A. (Carrie Black) Westmeyer of Delta; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six brothers, Ed (Mary) Westmeyer of Avon, Tom (AnneMarie) Westmeyer of Toledo, Jerome (Michelle) Westmeyer and Philip I. Westmeyer, both of Swanton, Paul (Renee) Westmeyer of Woodbridge and John (Paula) Westmeyer of Whitehouse; six sisters, Ruth M. Westmeyer of Waterville, Mrs. Bruce (Cecilia) Cole of Wauseon, Mrs. John (Lucy) St. John of Concord, N.H., Mrs. William (Celeste) Eirich of Findlay, Mrs. Robert (Ursula) Zankl and Mrs. Michael (Mary) Dick, both of Monclova.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 - 8 p.m. in the Thompson Funeral Home, Montpelier.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Montpelier, with Father Fred J. Duschl and the Rev. David E. Tilly to officiate. Interment will be in Floral Grove cemetery, Pioneer, with graveside military rites by Pioneer Veterans.
Memorials may be made to the family.

Stella A. Zyjewski

WYANDOTTE, Mich. - Stella A. Zyjewski, 86, of Wyandotte, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006.
She was the widow of Frank Zyjewski.
Surviving are two sons, David and Gerald; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Angelinas.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church with interment at Mt. Carmel cemetery.
Arrangements are by Czopek Funeral Directors.

Mary E. Powell
(1917 - 2006)

DEFIANCE - Mary E. Powell, 89, of Defiance, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006, at Laurels of Defiance.
Born March 16, 1917, in Waterville, to Grace (Jones) and Alva Perry, she married Francis L. Powell in 1936 and he survives.
A homemaker, she was a Defiance Eagles Auxiliary Golden Eagle and a member of the Eastern Star. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons, Ronald Powell of Defiance, James L. Powell of Cecil, Charles E. Powell of Ney and Gary Powell of Bryan; a daughter, Vonna Rowlands of Fort Wayne, Ind.; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Ray, Alva, Sidney, Emory, Guy and Robert Perry; a sister, Lelia Talmage; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. in the Mast - Mock - Hoffman Funeral Home. An Eastern Star service will be held Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Franks to officiate. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Defiance.
Memorials may be made to Defiance County Hospice and/or the Eastern Star Lodge.

Patrecia Lillian Lyman
(1917 - 2006)

MONTPELIER - Patrecia L. Lyman, 88, recently of Montpelier, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006.
Born Nov. 30, 1917, in Maumee, she was the daughter of Minnie Rachel (Harris) and Clarence Arthur Bowles.
She had been employed as a nurse working throughout Michigan and Ohio for 40 years until retiring in 1984.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Isabel (Cherie Kim) Perez of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Charles (Patrecia Lillian) VanderHorst of Alvordton and Mrs. Timothy Keniston (Melissa Ruth) Lyman of Muskegon; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Bouwmeester.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Margaret E. Palmer
(1924 - 2006)

MONTPELIER - Margaret E. Palmer, 82, of Montpelier and formerly of Dearborn, Mich., died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006, at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home.
Born Jan. 27, 1924, in Toledo, to Allie M. (Alpaugh) and Chester H. Wallace, she married John W. Palmer and he preceded her in death in 1983.
A 1944 graduate of Montpelier High School, she had retired as a branch manager from the Dearborn Savings and Loan Bank in Dearborn, Mich.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a brother, James (and wife, Lynne) Wallace of Montpelier, and three sisters, Iris E. Pace of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Lynn (Anna) Lightbody of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Darwina C. Wallace of Detroit.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, William, and a sister, Theda Clark.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 - 5:30 p.m. in the Thompson Funeral Home, Montpelier.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Robert W. Damschroder to officiate. Interment will be at Grand Lawn, Detroit, Mich.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Montpelier.

Robert M. Dillman
(1919 - 2006)

Robert M. Dillman, 86, of Bryan, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006, at the Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Bryan.
Born Nov. 20, 1919, in Bryan, to Fairy (Kyle) and Adam Dillman, he married Joan Willett on Nov. 11, 1944, in Bryan, and she survives.
A 1939 graduate of Bryan High School, he had attended Bowling Green State University.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in Europe, and later he retired as manager from Ringer's Drug Store after more than 40 years of service.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Bryan Masonic Lodge and Orchard Hills Country Club. An avid golfer, he started at Orchard Hills Country Club as a young caddie and later served as a president.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Mrs. Mike (Patty) Davis of Bryan, Mrs. John (Barbara) Kelley of West Chester, Rob (and wife, Beverly) Dillman of London, Ohio and Mrs. Todd (Becky) Stamm of Fairfield; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Howard Dawson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Nancy Dillman.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. in the Oberlin - Ford Funeral Home, Bryan.
A memorial service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Rob Marrow to officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bryan Area Foundation.
