Nancy L. Cholka
(1937 - 2006)

Nancy L. Cholka, 68, of Bryan, died on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2006 at the Harborside Healthcare Center in Bryan.
Born Sept. 17, 1937 in Chicago, Ill., to Abigail (Cramer) and Edward Goveia, she was married to Donald M. Cholk, Sr. on Sept. 5, 1977 in Mattawan, Mich., and he survives.
She was a retired school bus driver and retired from the Millcreek - West Unity school district. She was also a member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America - Detroit, Mich.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughters, Mrs. Jim (Mae) VanDyke of Delton, Mich., and Mrs. Scott (Kimberly) Stevens of Bowlingbrook, Ill.; sons, Jim Lloyd of Michigan and Greg Weekes of Miami, Fla.; six grandchildren; a brother, Joe (and wife Isabelle) Goveia of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and a sister, Mrs. Dick (Bernadine) Schweig of Lombard, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two children, and a brother.
Visitation will be held from 9 - 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 8 at the Burr Funeral Home & Crematory of Bryan.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 8 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Fountain Grove cemetery in Bryan.
Memorials may be given to an agency of the donor's choice.

Carl R. 'Bud' Govin
(1927 - 2006)

MONTPELIER - Carl R. "Bud" Govin, 79, of Montpelier died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2006 in his home following a lingering illness.
Born August 5, 1927 in Montpelier to Olive Marie (Bohner) and Charles Henry Govin, he was a lifelong Montpelier - area resident.
He was married to Genevieve "Jenny" Bunton on Nov. 23, 1948 and she survives.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of Montpelier Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #944, the United Trainmen Union and he was a Life Member of Montpelier Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #312.
He had retired in 1982 as a switchman with the Norfolk & Western Railroad where he had been employed for 32 years and for many years he was a self - employed carpenter.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Gary (Geraldine) Stobinski of Monclova, Janice Govin of Montpelier, Mrs. LeRoy (June) Swalley of Stryker and Mrs. Matt (Jean) Carlin of Montpelier; seven grandchildren, Kirk Stobinski, Dean Stobinski, Paul Swalley, Nicole Grapengeter, Dawn Swalley, Tracie Stein and Cory Carlin; 16 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Bonnie Masters of Edon.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, William Govin in March 1980; and a sister, Shirley Beckwith in June 1982.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 - 8 p.m. in Wilson - Geesey Funeral Home, Montpelier. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Todd Mills officiating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Montpelier, with military graveside rites conducted by Montpelier Veterans Organizations.
Preferred memorials are to Hospice of Community Hospitals & Wellness Centers of Williams County.

Homer W. Wright
(1912 - 2006)

PIONEER - Homer W. Wright, 94, of Pioneer died Saturday morning, Aug. 5, 2006 at Harborside Healthcare of Northwest Ohio, Bryan following a lengthy illness.
Born June 13, 1912 in Hicksville to Eliza (Baer) and George N. Wright, he was married to Virginia L. (Orewiler) on Feb. 28, 1953 in Pioneer and she preceded him in death.
A life - long area resident, he was a former Bridgewater Township farmer and a self - employed carpenter. From 1969 through 1979 he was employed at Peltcs Lumber Company in Montpelier. He was a member of the Pioneer Methodist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Harry (Mary) Fultz of New Haven, Ind.; granddaughters, Mrs. Bob (Amy) Boothman of Bryan and Valerie Thena of New Haven; three great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death in addition to his wife were his first wife, Beatrice A. (Bechtol) in 1947; a daughter, Patricia Ann Wright in 2001; a half brother; a half sister and two sisters.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. in Thompson Funeral Home, Pioneer. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Mike Raypholtz officiating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Montpelier.
Preferred memorials are to Pioneer Methodist Church or Hospice of Community Hospitals.

Frank S. Wilson
(1937 - 2006)

FAYETTE - Frank S. Wilson, 69, of Fayette, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, at his home.Frank S. Wilson Born March 10, 1937, in Gorham Twp., he was the son of Beatrice (Paine) and Harold Wilson. A life - long Fayette area resident, he was a 1955 graduate of Fayette High School. He was previously employed at TRW in Fayette and retired from Fayette Tubular in 1997 with over 21 years of service.
Having served in the U.S. Army, he was a member of N.R.A., AMVETS in Bryan, the Morenci American Legion Post No. 368 and the Morenci Sportsmen Club.
Surviving are a special companion, Shirley Eastman of Fayette; three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Julia) Thurston of Toledo, Stephany Suydam of Montpelier and Mrs. Dan (Mindy) Sadoski of Woodville; a son, Stephen (and wife, Christina) Wilson of Ypsilanti, Mich.; five grandchildren, Andrea, Crystal, Joey, Rebecca and Jennisson; two great-grandchildren, Elijah and Adrianna; two brothers, Kenneth (Shirley) Paison and Larry Wilson, all of Fayette; an aunt, Delora Ehlinger of Morenci, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 1 - 4 p.m. in the Eagle Funeral Home, Fayette.
Memorial services will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Laura Clark to officiate.
Memorials may be made to Hospice, the Caring Way, of Williams and Fulton Counties or S.A.K. Memorial Scholarship.

Frederick Eugene Sykes
(1938 - 2006)

BLUFFTON, S.C. - Frederick Eugene Sykes, 68, of Bluffton, died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006, at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
Born May 20, 1938, at Tulsa, Okla., he was the son of Dora (Franklin) and Alfred W. Sykes.
He was raised in Wichita, Kansas, from age nine until he joined the U.S. Air Force following high school graduation.
After his first tour of duty, he was a policeman in Las Vegas for a short period before reenlisting in the Air Force, serving in France and being recalled during the Cuban missile crisis. He spent the remainder of his career working for CSX Railroad, retiring as operations in Baltimore.
He and his wife of 27 years, Margie S. Sykes, settled in Bluffton in 2001. They enjoyed the music ministry of the Gracetime Worship Team, were members of The Church of the Cross and volunteered at the church's food bank. Prior to moving to Bluffton, they lived in Bryan, Ohio, for a few years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Timothy P. Sykes of Rincon, Ga.; a daughter, Susan S. Tolbert of San Diego; a stepson, Newton Ford of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, Bobby Sykes of Rogers, Ark.; three grandchildren, Lauren, Andrew and Kirsten Sykes; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held Friday at The Church of the Cross.
Memorials may be made to The Church of the Cross, P.O. Box 278, Bluffton, S.C. Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton is in charge of arrangements.

Shirley (King) Killian
(1954 - 2006)

HICKSVILLE - Shirley (King) Killian, 52, of Hicksville, died at her home, Aug. 1, 2006.
Born Feb. 12, 1954, at Fort Wayne, Ind., to Mary (Fry) and William R. King, she married Derrill Killian on June 18, 1983, and he survives.
A 1972 graduate of Wayne Trace High School, she earned her Bachelor of Music degree from Heidelberg College in 1976 and in 2002 she earned her Masters of Education in Classroom Technology from Bowling Green State University. She was the music teacher in the Central Local School District, focusing on the elementary music program.
A member of the St. Jacob's United Church of Christ, Payne, she was very involved in the Ohio Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, being awarded the Outstanding Junior in 1985, the Colonial Dames XVII Century and being awarded the Outstanding Junior, Daughters of 1812 and Daughters of the Civil War.
She was active in the Huber Opera House restoration, the Paulding and Hicksville Historical Society and served as a 4 - H advisor for the Hicksville Go - Getters Club. She was a member of the N.E.A. and a genealogist.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her mother, Mary of Payne; two sons, Warren of Ada and Anthony of Columbus; a brother, Bruce (and wife, Laura) King of Pemberville; and mother - in - law, Kathryn Killian of Hicksville.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her father; a brother, Robert; a sister, Diane; and an infant sister.
Visitation will be held Friday from 2 - 8 p.m. in the Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville, and from 10 - 11 a.m. in St. Jacob's United Church of Christ, Payne.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the church with the Rev. James Langham to officiate. Private burial will take place at Six Corners cemetery, Hicksville.
Memorials may be made to an organization of the donor's choice.

Mariann C. Wade
(1933 - 2006)

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. - Mariann C. Wade, 73, of Bonita Springs and formerly of Bryan, Ohio, died Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at Hope Hospice House of Bonita Springs.
Born Feb. 3, 1933, at Fort Wayne, Ind., she was the daughter of LaDonna and Harold Ulrich.
A resident of Bonita Springs for 20 years, after moving from Bryan in 1985, she had retired from General Tire of Bryan after 20 years of employment. She was also employed by Imperial Bonita Estates of Bonita Springs for 10 years.
She was a member of the American Legion Post 303 of Bonita Springs, a Ladies Auxiliary member of the VFW Post 7727 and the Bryan Moose No. 618.
Surviving are her husband of 28 years, Carmon G. Wade of Bonita Springs; a son, Scott G. (and wife, Juanita) Moorehead of Mechanicsville, Va.; two daughters, Mrs. David (Susan J.) Shock of Evansport, Ohio, and Ann M. Daniels of Bonita Springs; two stepdaughters, Crystal K. Boger of Bryan, Ohio and Lisa Wade of Troy, Ohio; a stepson, Andrew G. (Amy) Wade of Troy, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Phillip (Mary Ann) Ulrich of Fair Oaks, Calif., David Ulrich of Eugene, Ore., Allen (Linda) Ulrich of McClure, Ohio, and Kenneth (Sonja) Ulrich of Bryan, Ohio; and a sister, Mrs. Melvin (Theresa) Hunt of Terre Haute, Ind.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 22, at 2 p.m. in the Oberlin - Ford Funeral Home in Bryan with Pastor Don Barnett to officiate.
Memorials may be made to the Hope House Hospice of Bonita Springs.

James Blake Stallard
(1936 - 2006)

James Blake Stallard, 69, of Bryan and formerly of Findlay and Dayton, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind., where he had been a patient the past month.
Born Sept. 1, 1936, at Pikeville, Ky., he was the son of Zella (Phipps) and Walker Stallard.
A self - employed truck driver, he was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and was discharged in 1962. He was a member of the Bryan Amvets Post 54 and the Butler Eagles Aerie 2733.
Surviving are a daughter, Nancy Brady of Boise, Idaho; two sons, Jim Stallard of Boise, Idaho and Randy Stallard of Spokane, Mich.; friend, Bonnie Harmon of Bryan and her daughters, Christine Conkle of Kendallville, Ind. and Julie Kashmer of Bryan.
There will be no visitation or services. Private burial with military honors will take place Monday at the Ohio Western Reserve National cemetery, Rittman.
Arrangements are by Krill Funeral Service, Bryan.

Joan H. Anspaugh
(1948 - 2006)

EDON - Joan H. Anspaugh, 57, of rural Edon, died Tuesday afternoon, July 18, 2006, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, following an illness.
Born Sept. 3, 1948, in Bryan, to Anna B. (Mach) and Richard E. Anspaugh, she was a lifelong area resident.
A 1966 graduate of Edon High School, she was also a graduate of Elkhart Institute of Technology, Elkhart, Ind.
She had retired in 1999 as medical records director at Paulding County Hospital, Paulding, where she had been employed for 30 years.
An active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Edon, where she had served on the Church Council, she was also a member of the Friendship Circle, Mary - Martha Society, Altar Guild and Women of the Church. She had also volunteered as a reading mentor with the Edon schools. Surviving are four sisters, Shirley Anspaugh of Edon, Mrs. Gary (Helen) Crudele of Stow, Mrs. Ric (Carol) Brandt of Edon and Mrs. John (Linda) Clark Jr. of Bryan; seven nephews, Scott (and wife, Rosie) Brandt of Angola, Ind., Adam (Amy) Brandt of Edon, Matthew Brandt of Blakeslee, Jeremy Anspaugh of Montpelier, Benjamin Clark, Jesse Clark and Casey Clark, all of Bryan; three great-nieces and three great-nephews, Kaitlyn, Sarah, Ryan, Kyle, Levi and Alea.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1983, her mother in 1995, and a brother, Norman in 1986.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 - 8 p.m. in the Wilson - Geesey Funeral Home, Montpelier. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Edon, with the Rev. Clayton J. Bailey to officiate. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Montpelier.
Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
