Janet Stombaugh
(1954 - 2006)

NAPOLEON - Janet E. Stombaugh, 52, a resident of the Filling Memorial Home of Mercy, Napoleon, died Friday, July 14, 2006, at the Filling Memorial Home of Mercy.
Born April 16, 1954, at Toledo, she was the daughter of Lois M. (Kuszmaul) and Paul L. Stombaugh. An assembler at Quadco for several years, she was a member of Lick Creek Church of the Brethren, Bryan.
Surviving are her parents, Paul L. and Lois M. Stombaugh of Bryan; two brothers, Dennis (and, Isabelle) Stombaugh of Akron and Ned (Lorisa) Stombaugh of Coatsville, Pa.; two nieces, Dawn Stombaugh of Racine, Wisc. and Beth Stombaugh of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Todd Stombaugh.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 3 - 5 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan.
Memorial services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Filling Memorial Home of Mercy, N - 160 Ohio 108, Napoleon, with Chaplain Denise Brown to officiate. Private graveside services will be held in Shiffler cemetery, Bryan.
Memorials may be made to the Filling Foundation c/o Filling Memorial Home of Mercy, Napoleon.

Evelyn L. Merillat
(1916 - 2006)

ARCHBOLD - Evelyn L. Merillat, 89, of rural Archbold, died Sunday, July 16, 2006 at Heartland of Wauseon. Prior to her retirement she had worked as a beautician and had a beauty shop in her home from 1959 until 1993.
Mrs. Merillat was born in Archbold on August 24, 1916, the daughter of the late Thomas and the late Florence (Valiton) Field. On Feb., 11, 1940 she married Millard Merillat, and he survives. She was a member of the Tedrow United Methodist Church, the Fulton County Association for Retarded Citizens, Extension Homemakers Club, and a former member of the Ottokee Grange and the "Franklin Friendly Folks."
In addition to her husband she is survived by two grandchildren, David Marshall of St. John's, Mich. and Teri Scott of Eaton Rapids, Mich.; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Lou Ann Merillat, a son, Marvin Gene Merillat, a half - sister, Jeanette Todd and a brother, Walter Field.
Visitation will be Thursday from 3 - 5 and 6 - 8 p.m. at the Edgar - Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon, Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Ruth E. Carter - Crist and Pastor Pam Short officiating. Interment will follow in the Smith cemetery, near Archbold.
Memorials may be made to Tedrow United Methodist Church or Quadco.

E. Ruth Gorsuch
(1915 - 2006)

WEST UNITY - E. Ruth Gorsuch, 91, of the Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold and formerly of West Unity, died Saturday morning, July 15, 2006, at the nursing home.
Born May 15, 1915, in Brailey, to Addie (Sanders) and Charles Gingery, she married Dale Gorsuch and he preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1993.
After attending the Blake School in Brailey and Swanton High School, she was employed at the Spangler Candy Co. in Bryan and was a former owner and operator of the Tasty Freeze in West Unity. She was also a homemaker and a member of the West Unity Methodist Church.
Surviving are four sons, Leroy (and wife, Bonnie) Gorsuch of Auburn, Ind., James (Phyllis) Gorsuch of West Unity, Larry (Joan) Gorsuch of West Unity and Paul (Dianne) Gorsuch of Sturgis, Mich.; four daughters, Mrs. Richard (Doris) Friday of Falls City, Wash., Mrs. Thomas (Ilah) Barnhardt of Mulberry, Ariz., Mrs. Charles (Glenda) Lehman of Archbold and Susan Newcomb of Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home, Archbold; 17 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband of 57 years, were her parents; an infant son, Donald Gorsuch; a grandchild; three great-grandchildren; her sister, Dora Everingham; and three brothers, John, Herman and Howard Gingery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 - 8 p.m. in the Hollingshead - Beck Funeral Home, West Unity. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the West Unity United Methodist Church with an hour of visitation prior to the services. The Rev. Ruth Ann Scoby is to officiate. Burial will be at the Floral Grove cemetery, West Unity.
Memorials may be made to the Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home or to the West Unity United Methodist Church.

Helen Catherine Swihart
(1931 - 2006)

Helen Catherine Swihart, 75, of Bryan, died Sunday, July 16, 2006, at her residence, following a brief illness.
Born Feb. 19, 1931, in Detroit, Mich., to Clara May (Wright) and Dr. James E. Clark, she married Jaye R. Stewlow in 1952 and that marriage ended in 1973. She then married Glenn F. Swihart on June 24, 1977, in Adrian, Mich., and he preceded her in death in January 1986.
Employed in the Environmental Services Department at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in both Bryan and Montpelier for eight years, she retired in 1996.
Surviving are her daughters, Cheryl L. Belt of Bryan and Sheila G. Stewlow of Temperance, Mich.; two grandsons, Torrey Dean Belt Sr. and Ryan C. Belt; and great-grandchildren, Torrey D. Belt Jr. and Kristi N. Belt.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Edna C. Shivley and Delana C. Weaver; and half sister, Isabelle Shuldice.
There will be no visitation or services. Arrangements have been made by Krill Funeral Service, Bryan. Memorials may be made to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Hospice Care.

Rev. Donald F. Holsinger
(1930 - 2006)

ARCHBOLD - The Rev. Donald F. Holsinger, 75, of Archbold, died Saturday evening, July 15, 2006, at his home.
Born Aug. 19, 1930, in Rochester, Pa., to Ethel (McClure) and Donald Holsinger, he married Darlene Stevens on Sept. 7, 1951, and she survives.
Ordained to the ministry and having served Nazarene churches in Pennsylvania and Ohio, he had served the Archbold Church of the Nazarene from 1970 - 1981 and was the associate at the Bryan Church of the Nazarene from 1981 - 1993. He was a member of the Bryan Church of the Nazarene. He retired from Sauder Woodworking Co. in Archbold after 20 years.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons, Donald (and wife, Kathy) Holsinger Jr. of Wauseon, Melvin (Tracy) Holsinger of Tucson, Ariz. and Robert (Debbie) Holsinger of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Mrs. Chris (Gaylene) Carpenter of Montpelier; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Errol Holsinger of Ellwood City, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. James (Ethel) Beyer of Hot Springs, Ark. and Beverly Gould of St. Petersburg, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ronald and Noel; and a sister, Sarah Bright. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2 - 8 p.m. in the Short Funeral Home, Archbold. Services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Bryan Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Roger Blough, the Rev. Michael Dunson and the Rev. Wayne Sweeley to officiate. Private interment will be in the Archbold cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Bryan Church of the Nazarene or to the donor's favorite charity.

Jolene D. Miller
(1983 - 2006)

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Jolene D. Miller, 23, of Indianapolis, died early Saturday morning, July 15, 2006, from injuries received in an automobile accident in Indianapolis.
Born Jan. 28, 1983, in Toledo, Ohio, she was the daughter of Joyce (Steiner) and John Miller of Archbold.
A 2001 graduate of Archbold High School, she had received an associate degree in culinary science from the Cooking & Hospitality Institute of Chicago in 2003. She had lived in Indianapolis for the past three years and worked in retail sales and at Yat's Restaurant.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are two brothers, John (and wife, Marla) Miller and James (Monica) Miller, all of Archbold; and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by Baby Miller and grandparents, John and Doris Miller and Leo and Kathryn Steiner.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 - 8 p.m. in the Short Funeral Home, Archbold. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the North Pettisville cemetery followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. in the Central Mennonite Church with Pastor Ron Shipley of the First Baptist Church in Wauseon to officiate.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Weldon W. Starr
(1913 - 2006)

EDON - Weldon W. Starr, 92, formerly of Edon, died Friday, July 14, 2006, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan after a brief illness.
Born Dec. 2, 1919, at Ainger, to Murre Z. (Brubaker) and Pierson F. Starr, he married Helen E. Darr on Oct. 24, 1936, at Auburn, Ind., and she preceded him in death on Dec. 24, 2005.
A member of the Bethlehem Christian Union Church, he was a service mechanic for several auto dealerships in the area until his retirement in 1980.
Surviving are three sons, Wayne A. (and wife, Kay) Starr of Holland, Robert D. (Carol) Starr of Pemberville and Jon E. (Danica) Starr of Columbus; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harold (Marcille) Starr of Montpelier.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lyle Starr.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 3 - 5 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Bethlehem Christian Union Church near Edon with his grandson, Reverend Kevin Starr to officiate. Interment will be in Riverside cemetery, Montpelier.
Memorials may be made to the Bethlehem Christian Union Church, 04016 County Road M - 50, Edon, Ohio, 43518, or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Vivian L. Alexander

STRYKER - Vivian L. Alexander, 86, a lifelong resident of Williams County, died Friday, July 14, 2006, at Evergreen Manor after a short illness.
The youngest of eight children in the family of Hattie (Haines) and John Briner, she attended the Ainger one - room school in Bridgewater Township, then graduated from Montpelier High School in 1937. She lived in Cleveland during World War II and then married returning serviceman Herbert Alexander in 1946. They established a home in the Stryker area and he preceded her in death in July 1998. She was a lifelong homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Stryker where she was active as a teacher and worker in many ministries of the church through the years.
She is survived by one sister, Bernice Briner, presently at Hillside Country Living; children Joan of Schaumburg, Ill., Steve of Stryker, Mark (and wife Rebecca) of Springfield; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be at Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker, Monday from 2 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Stryker. Interment will be in the Riverside cemetery in Montpelier.

I. David Moskowitz
(1938 - 2006)

I. David "Davey" Moskowitz, 68, of Bryan, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2006, at The Dilworth Center, Montpelier.
Born on March 4, 1938, in Pittsburgh, Pa., Davey was the son of Samuel and Jeanette Moskowitz. He was a graduate of Mount Lebanon High School in Pittsburgh where he held records in Track and Cross Country. In school, he was also the captain of the Boxing, Cross Country and Track teams. Davey supported his hometown by being one of Pittsburgh Steelers biggest fans.
Mr. Moskowitz had worked for over 41 years at Bard Manufacturing. He was a member of Olive Branch Christian Union Church where he played drums. He was an avid drummer that especially liked playing Country - Rock and was well known for his rendition of "Wipe - Out." For over ten years Little Davey was president of Bryan Softball League. He was also a coach for the Industrial Softball League for 10 years and was a coach for the Montpelier Girls Softball League for three years. Davey raced as a stock car driver when the Bryan Raceway was in existence. He was also a longstanding member of the Montpelier Moose and Montpelier Eagles. Little Davey was a friend to all and loved by many.
Surviving is his wife, Kathy Jean Russell Moskowitz of Bryan; six sons, Isaac D. Moskowitz II of West Unity, Gregory (Keri) Heber of Waco, Texas, Rory Browning of Columbus, Denny Elkins of Coldwater, Mich., William Mohr of Cincinnati and Todd Moskowitz of Bryan; three daughters, Jeanette (Frank) Hull of Montpelier, Debi (Tim) Swager of Fremont, Ind., and Nora Elkins of Coldwater, Mich.; 11 grandchildren, Ashley and Heather Fisher, Babette (Terry) Riter, Kylie Swager, Timmy Swager, Amber (Drew) Kuespert, Kyarra, Agustin, Alona, Xavier and Isaac Elkins; four great-grandchildren; a half brother, Dr. Paul Zolbroad of Pittsburgh; a half sister, Dr. Wilma (Norm) Austin of Pittsburgh; a mother - in - law, Clara Russell; a brother - in - law, David (Patti) Russell; two sisters - in - law, Patricia Beebe and Diane (Ron) Case; and nine nieces and nephews.
Davey was preceded in death by his parents; three children, Timothy Browning and Carrie and Rob Heber; and a half brother, Dr. Leon Zolbroad.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at 3 p.m. at Olive Branch Christian Union Church, Fayette, with Pastor Joe Redmond officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 16 from 1 - 7 p.m. at Oberlin - Ford Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to his loving wife, Kathy Moskowitz c/o Oberlin - Ford Funeral Home.
