Iola Mae Shisler
(1914 - 2005)

Iola Mae Shisler, 91, of Bryan, died Saturday, May 7, 2005, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers-Bryan.
Born Feb. 7, 1914, at Bryan, to Lilly A. (Hesrick) and Cecil E. Gray, she married Harley R. Shisler on March 17, 1964, and he preceded her in death.
A homemaker, she had been a secretary at Bryan Metals.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Marv (Vicki) Nafziger of Archbold; two stepsons, Nolan (and wife, Donna) Shisler and Jack (Jackie) Shisler, both of Oakwood; three grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Neva Wallace. Visitation will be held Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home, Bryan. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Faith United Methodist Church with the Rev. Susan Roads to officiate. Burial will be private at Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Oakwood.
Memorials may be made to Faith United Methodist Church or to the donor's choice.

Ronald L. Bailey
(1938 - 2005)

Ronald L. Bailey, 67, of Bryan, died unexpectedly early Saturday, May 7, 2005, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers-Montpelier.
Born Feb. 7, 1938, in Defiance, to Leola (Johnson) and Harold Bailey, he married Miriam 'Mate' Clark on Feb. 26, 1959, and she preceded him in death on Dec. 10, 1990. On July 6, 1991, he married Mary Lou Kurtz and she survives.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Spangler Candy Company in Bryan as a logistics manager. He attended the Alliance Church in Bryan and was a trustee and member of the alumni board of directors of Howe Military School in Howe, Ind.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Clarke "Brad" (and wife, Christine) Bailey of Defiance; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Scott (Cheryl) Grisier of Wauseon; a stepson, Jeff Burford of Frankfort, Germany; and five grandchildren.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-9 p.m. in the Grisier Funeral Home, Stryker.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Alliance Church, Bryan, with the Rev. Gary Keisling to officiate. Burial will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery, Defiance.
Memorials may be made to the Howe Military School, PO Box 240, Howe, IN 46746-0240.

Felista Amburgey

SHELBY TWP., Mich. - Felista Amburgey of Shelby Twp. and formerly of Bryan, Ohio, died Saturday, May 7, 2005.
Surviving are her husband of over 45 years, Ralph; a son, Michael (and wife, Lisa) Amburgey; grandchildren, Justin and Whitney; and sisters, Marilyn Barnstead and Mrs. Larry (Fran) McRoy. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. in the Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 1425 N. Elm Ave., Jackson, Mich. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 180505 W. 12 Mile Rd., Southfield, MI 48076, or Beaumont Hospice, 1200 Stephnson Hwy., Troy, MI 48083.

Joan C. (Spieth) Sakos
(1946 - 2005)

Joan C. (Spieth) Sakos, 59, of Bryan, died Saturday, April 16, 2005, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio-Perrysburg, of ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis).
Born Oct. 30, 1946, she was the daughter of Ethel (Reynolds) and Oscar W. Spieth. A 1964 graduate of Pioneer High School and a 1968 graduate of college in Texas, she served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from the Air National Guard.
She was a teacher at Northwest State Community College, a member of the American Legion and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Bryan.
Surviving are her father, Oscar W. Spieth of Pioneer; sons, Kyle (and wife, Sherry) Sakos of Pioneer, Paul Sakos of Dayton and Erich (Sarah) Sakos of Tinker Air Force Base; three grandchildren; and a brother, Lawrence (Thelma) Spieth of Pioneer.
A memorial service is to be held Tuesday in the Trinity Episcopal Church on Ohio 576, Bryan, at 6 p.m. Her body has been donated to science.
Memorials may be sent to ALS or Hospice of Northwest Ohio-Defiance.

Jimmie Lee Wilson
(1929 - 2005)

MONTGOMERY, Mich. - Jimmie Lee Wilson, 76, of Montgomery and formerly of Muncie, Ind., died Friday, May 6, 2005, at Harborside Nursing Home, Bryan, Ohio.
Born April 10, 1929, at Muncie, Ind., to Lorena C. (Lewis) and Morgan C. Wilson, he married Janet M. Lovett on July 16, 1983, at Muncie, Ind., and she survives.
A resident of Montgomery since 1999, he was manager of Ross Supermarket for approximately 25 years until retiring on April 1, 1994.
A 1947 graduate of Muncie Central High School, he was past president of Kiwanis 5000 Club in Muncie and a past member of the Muncie Moose.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Rex (and wife, Roxann) Wilson of Muncie; three daughters, Pam George of Portland, Ind., Mrs. Tehzeeb (Wanda) Jafri of Fort Wayne, Ind. and Mrs. Jon (Debbie) Funkhouser of Muncie, Ind.; a stepson, James (Jay) Huser of Anderson, Ind.; seven grandchildren; a stepgrandson; a stepgranddaughter; and three brothers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-4 p.m. in the Thompson Funeral Home-Montpelier.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Ruth Ann Scoby to officiate.
Memorials may be made to the activity fund at Harborside Healthcare Northwestern Ohio-Bryan.

Martin Robert "Bob" Eberly
(1924 - 2005)

Martin Robert "Bob" Eberly, 80, of Bryan and a former Montpelier resident, died Thursday afternoon, May 5, 2005, at Harborside Healthcare of Northwestern Ohio-Bryan, following a lingering illness.
Born Aug. 13, 1924, at Montpelier, to Lola Faye (Martin) and Harold G. Eberly, he married Lee Janeen Hinsch on June 13, 1970, and she survives.
A lifelong Montpelier and Bryan resident, he was a 1944 graduate of Montpelier High School. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Bryan, the Montpelier Eagles Lodge, the Montpelier Grange and the Hicksville Kitchenetters Band. He was a faithful blood donor, having been honored for exceeding the several gallon mark.
He had retired in 1984 as a construction foreman and inspector with the Ohio Gas Company where he had been employed for 41 years. Following retirement, he had been a substitute Bryan City Schools bus driver and a long time van driver for the Bryan Senior Center.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, T-Sgt. Martin William (and wife, Jennifer) Eberly of Great Falls, Montana and 2nd Lt. James Raymond (DaNeal) Eberly of Scott AFB, Ill.; three grandchildren, Jadan, Miriam and Mathea; three sisters, Mrs. Howard W. (Marian) Wasnich-Klingler of West Unity, Mrs. Ronald (Shirley) Piddock of Hillsdale, Mich. and June Huston of Montpelier; and his mother-in-law, Elowene G. Hinsch of Hicksville.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, William Brown; and his stepmother, Virgil Eberly-Clinger.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. in the Wilson-Geesey Funeral Home, Montpelier. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Ted Mathes to officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Montpelier.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers of Williams County or The Bryan Senior Center.

Carol A. Eddings
(1956 - 2005)

ARCHBOLD - Carol A. Eddings, 48, of Archbold, died Tuesday evening, May 3, 2005, at her home, following a lengthy illness.
Born July 9, 1956, at Tecumseh, Mich., to Jennie (Bird) and William Rader, she married Mark Eddings on Oct. 27, 1984, and he survives.
A lifelong resident of southeast Michigan and northwest Ohio, she moved to Archbold in 2000 and worked as a bar tender and a teacher in daycares in Wauseon, Delta, Defiance and Archbold. She made and sold crafts, candles and floral arrangements. She was member of the Democratic Womens Club and attended St. MartinŐs Lutheran Church in Archbold.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Scott (and wife, Priscilla) Hall of Rockport, Texas ; a daughter, Mrs. Brandon (Catrina) Allen of Archbold; three grandchildren; her parents, Williams and Jennie Rader of Tecumseh, Mich.; and a brother, Gary (Merry) Rader of Erie, Mich. Preceding her in death were a brother, Douglas Rader, and two sisters, Deb Rader and Sherry Rader.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Hope Christian Fellowship on US 20A near Wauseon with Pastor Donna Stutzman to officiate. There will be no visitation.
Short Funeral Home in Archbold is in charge of the arrangements.
