BETTY REED HANDY
Betty Reed Handy, age 80, of Wilmington, Ohio died 3:25 PM, Wednesday, July 23, 2003 at her residence. Her husband, David Handy Sr. preceded her in death September 24, 1994. Mrs. Handy was born September 9, 1922 in Clay County, Kentucky to the late Pleas and Mary Bell Hacker Reed.
Mrs. Handy was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church of Wilmington, Ohio and a former seamstress for the Clifton Shirt Company in Loveland, Ohio.
Mrs. Handy is survived by two sons, Stephen (Gwen) Hensley of Wilmington, Ohio and Gerald Hensley of Morrow, Ohio; two brothers, James Reed of Blanchester, Ohio and Lee Roy Reed of Blanchester, Ohio; five sisters, Cora Davidson of Felicity, Ohio, Ida Kelley of Oneida, Kentucky, Clara Davidson of Loveland, Ohio, Viola Taylor of Lebanon, Ohio, and Marie Cassidy of Columbus, Ohio; five grandchildren, Shannon Bowman, Cherie Gilbert, Sandy Hewson, Andrew Hensley, and Brian Puckett; six great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Handy is preceded in death by two brothers, Jessie Reed and Delbert Reed, and two sisters, Lula Robinson and Sophia Spurlock.
Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon, Saturday, July 26, 2003 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio. Burial will be in Clinton Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 11:00 AM till 12:00 Noon, Saturday, July 26, 2003 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.

MARY FRANCES WALKER BLACKBURN
Mary Frances Walker Blackburn, age 97, of 514 W. High Street, Waynesville, Ohio (formerly of Wilmington and Xenia, Ohio) died 5:32 AM, Thursday, July 24, 2003 at Quaker Heights Nursing Home in Waynesville. Ms. Blackburn was born February 24, 1906 to the late Joseph M. and Eugenia Cast Walker. A 1924 graduate of Wilmington High School, she attended Wittenberg University, Ohio State University, and the Columbus Art Academy. She was a member of the Episcopal Church in Xenia, Ohio and was active in numerous animal welfare leagues throughout her life.
A son, Theodore Walker Blackburn of Xenia, Ohio; a grandson, Timothy Walker Blackburn of Wilmington, Ohio; and a former daughter-in-law and caregiver, Joan Blackburn of Kettering, Ohio, survive Ms. Blackburn.
In addition to her parents, her former husband Leonard Thomas “Tom” Blackburn preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Monday, July 28, 2003 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio. Burial will be in the Sugar Grove cemetery, Wilmington, Ohio. Friends may call from 12:00 Noon – 1:00 PM, Monday, July 28, 2003 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.

RUTH E. KELLY
Ruth E. Kelly, age 90, of 820 E. Center Street, Blanchester, Ohio (Formerly of Cuba, Ohio) died 6:35 AM, Wednesday, July 09, 2003 at Continental Manor Nursing Home. Her husband Carl Kelly, to whom she was married September 4, 1935, preceded her in death May 5, 1987. Mrs. Kelly was born September 4, 1912 in Warren County, Ohio to the late Harry C. and Eva Bryan Atkinson. She was a graduate of Kingman High School and Wilmington College. Mrs. Kelly was a member of the Cuba Friends Meeting.
Mrs. Kelly is survived by three sons, Kenneth (Barbara) Kelly of Cuba, Ohio, Roger C. (Ruth M.) Kelly of Blanchester, Ohio, and Paul A. (Bonnie) Kelly of Cuba, Ohio, three daughters, Catherine (Robert) Osickey of Gainesville, Florida, Ann (Jim) Newman of Dayton, Ohio, and Mary (Frank) Joseph of Green Cove Springs, Florida, two sisters, Virginia Greisheimer of Xenia, Ohio and Ada (Wilbur) McKay of New Burlington, Ohio, 19 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, a brother, John Atkinson and three sisters, Mary Greene, Clara Zurface, and Leola Gray precede her in death.
Funeral services will be 9:00 AM, Saturday, July 12, 2003 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Rudy Haag officiating. Burial will be in the Greenlawn cemetery, Milford, Ohio. Friends may call from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Friday, July 11, 2003 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.

HAROLD K. CHANEY
Harold K. Chaney, age 81, of 546 Forest Lake Drive, Wilmington, Ohio died 6:17 PM, Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at Hospitality Homes in Xenia, Ohio. His wife, Katherine Haywood Chaney, to whom he was married October 21, 1993, survives him. Mr. Chaney was born September 24, 1921 in Westboro, Ohio to the late Cuthbert and Catherine Murphy Chaney.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Chaney was a retired General Motors employee. He was a member of the F&AM; Lodge #273 in Norwalk, California as well as the American Legion in California.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Chaney is survived by a son, James K. (Peggy) Chaney of Texas; a brother, Charles (Gloria) Chaney of Wilmington, Ohio; one stepson; one stepdaughter; five grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, July 14, 2003 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Rev. Mary E. Cochran officiating. Burial will be in the Troutwine cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, Monday, July 14, 2003 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.

TIMOTHY D. STACKHOUSE
Timothy D. Stackhouse, age 50, of Wilmington, Ohio died Sunday, July 6, 2003 at his residence. Mr. Stackhouse was born June 19, 1953 in Wilmington, Ohio to the Charles O. Stackhouse of Wilmington, Ohio and the late Marilyn Sayre Stackhouse. He was a graduate of East Clinton High School.
In addition to his father he is survived by his stepmother, Judy Stackhouse of Wilmington, Ohio, two stepbrothers, Matthew Foster and Michael Foster, a stepsister, Linda Ross, a sister-in-law, Vickie Stackhouse, an uncle, Richard Nixon, an aunt Virginia Weymouth, two nephews, Chad Stackhouse and Jeremy Stackhouse, three cousins, Connie Mason, Kenneth Sayre, and Dan Nixon, as well as many loving and caring friends. In addition to his mother, a brother, Michael A. Stackhouse is preceded in death.
Memorial services will be held 4:00 PM, Thursday, July 10, 2003 at the Presbyterian Church of Wilmington, 840 Timber Glen Drive, Wilmington, Ohio with Dr. Thomas B. Martin officiating. Friends may call from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM, Thursday, July 10, 2003 at the Presbyterian Church of Wilmington.

PHYLLIS C. STORER
Phyllis C. Storer, 64, of 637 N. Mulberry Street, Wilmington, Ohio died Sunday, April 4, 2004 at Celebration Hospital in Kissimmee, Florida. Her husband, Sherman Storer, whom she married October 6, 1956, survives. Mrs. Storer was born April 2, 1940 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Merle and Mildred Morgan Akers.
Mrs. Storer retired from Clinton Memorial Hospital in 1995. She was a member of the Wilmington Assembly of God and the Clinton County Quilt Club.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Storer is survived by two sons, James Storer of Wilmington, Ohio and David Storer of Wilmington, Ohio; three daughters, Pam (Mark) Tucker of Columbus, Ohio, Sherry Storer of Wilmington, Ohio, and Paula (Ralph) Hudson of Wilmington, Ohio; two sisters, Jean Bertka of El Paso, Texas and Joyce Fraker of Columbus, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Matthew Richardson and Liza Richardson. In addition to her parents, a brother, Johnny Akers, precedes her in death.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, April 10, 2004 at the Wilmington Assembly of God, 609 W. Locust Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Rev. Richard Bracht officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Friday, April 9, 2004 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio.

ROGER AMES
Roger Ames, 70, of 151 Indian Ridge Drive, Piketon, Ohio (formerly of New Vienna, Ohio) died 4:29 PM, Monday, April 5, 2004 at Pike Community Hospital, Waverly, Ohio. Mr. Ames was born March 21, 1934 in Clinton County, Ohio to the late Clair and Esther Hunt Ames. He was a graduate of New Vienna High School. A blacksmith by trade, Mr. Ames loved raising and being around horses.
Mr. Ames is survived by a son, Wayne (Kathy) Ames of New Vienna, Ohio; a daughter, Judith (Tom) Birt of Aberdeen, Ohio; a sister, Martha Gillespie of New Vienna, Ohio; four grandchildren, Justin Dean, Jamie Dean, Megan Birt, and Robert Ames; 10 great grandchildren; and Evelyn Jean Ames of New Vienna, Ohio. In addition to his parents, a brother, Norman Edward Ames, two sisters, Ruth Humphreys and Mary Arnold, and a great grandchild precede him in death.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, April 9, 2004 at the L. Eugene Smith & Son Funeral Home, 64 S. South Street, New Vienna, Ohio. Burial will be in Sugar Grove cemetery, Wilmington, Ohio. Friends may call from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 PM, Friday, April 9, 2004 at the L. Eugene Smith & Son Funeral Home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

RENALD "IKE" ROBINSON
Renald Isaac Robinson, 86, of Wilmington, Ohio died 4:30 PM, Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at Clinton Memorial Hospital. His wife of 55 years, Dorotha Mason Robinson, preceded him in death November 11, 1995. His second wife, Dorothy Hawk Robinson, survives. Mr. Robinson was born October 14, 1917 in Jeffersonville, Ohio to the late Ralph and Hazel Knisley Robinson. He was a graduate of Jeffersonville High School and attended LaSalle University.
Mr. Robinson began his career with Steel Products in Springfield, Ohio, he then owned Robinson’s Market in Jeffersonville, Ohio. He went on to become an accountant and controller for Cudahy Foods in Washington Court House, Ohio until his retirement. After retirement, he was a long time staff member of Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home in Wilmington, Ohio and L. Eugene Smith & Son Funeral Home in New Vienna, Ohio. He was a member of the Wilmington United Methodist Church, the B.P.O. Elks 797, the Clinton County Squares, and a 65-year member of the F&AM; 468 in Jeffersonville, Ohio.
In addition to his second wife, Mr. Robinson is survived by a son, A. Kent (Gayle) Robinson of Springfield, Ohio; a daughter, Marsha (Thomas) Snyder of Wilmington, Ohio; three stepdaughters, Judy Stewart of Sabina. Ohio, Janet (Bob) Channell of Greenwood, Indiana, and Kathy (Greg) Linkhart of New Vienna, Ohio; a stepson, Jeffrey (Barb) Hawk of New Vienna, Ohio; five grandchildren, Kara Robinson (Bennet) Crook, Kyle (Debbie) Robinson, Kirk Robinson, Damian (Kim) Snyder, and Brady (Donna) Snyder; twelve step-grandchildren, Steve (Michelle) Stewart, Jill (Donnie) Rorschach, Jennifer Sweet Bratt, Michael (Shaleah) Channell, Kevin (Laura) Channell, Tennille (Cullen) Istre, Ashley (Shane) Creek, Jeffrey Hawk, Jessica Hawk, Bethany Norman, Brittany Norman, and Bobbi Jean Norman; seven great grandchildren, Max Crook, Kylie Robinson, Daniel Robinson, Raegan Snyder, Brynne Snyder, Kari Jo Snyder, and Mason Snyder; and seven step-great grandchildren, Trevor Stewart, Madison Rorschach, McKinley Rorschach, Tyler Sweet, John Channell, Chloe Istre, and Lincoln Istre. In addition to his first wife and parents, a stepson-in-law, Dale Stewart, a brother, Robert Robinson, and a sister, Mildred A. Cassel, are preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Monday, April 12, 2004 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery, Jeffersonville, Ohio. Friends may call from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Sunday, April 11, 2004 and from 12:00 Noon – 1:00 PM, Monday, April 12, 2004 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home. Masonic services will be conducted at the conclusion of visitation on Sunday.

SHAWN RYAN JONES
Shawn Ryan Jones, 26, of 267 N. Lincoln Street, Wilmington, Ohio, died Saturday, April 10, 2004. Mr. Jones was born February 5, 1978 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Valerie Rose of Wilmington, Ohio and the late Richard Ray Jones. He attended Wilmington City Schools and participated in several different sports. Mr. Jones was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 49. He performed in several Wilmington College theatrical productions. He portrayed Tad Lincoln in the first production of “Lincoln’s Last Hours.” Mr. Jones attended Bible Baptist Church of Wilmington.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Jones is survived by a special friend, Delilah Ott of Wilmington, Ohio; two sons, Joshua Ryan Jones of Wilmington, Ohio and Aaron K. Snider of Wilmington, Ohio; his stepfather, Jack Rose of Wilmington, Ohio; his stepmother, Pam Rasnic of Dayton, Ohio; a half brother, Richard Shane Houston of New Mexico; three stepbrothers, James Stoops of Wilmington, Ohio, Christopher Stoops of Wilmington, Ohio, and John M. Rose III of Indiana; two stepsisters, Sarah Rose of Florida and Vanessa Rose Sowash of Indiana; his grandmother, Leanna M. Stephenson of Wilmington, Ohio; his step-grandmother, Lue Stephenson of Tennessee; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In addition to his father, a sister, Chrystal Dawn Jones, and grandparents, Stanley H. Stephenson and George and Marie Jones precede him in death.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Friday, April 16, 2004 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Jeremy Stout & Paul Butler officiating. Burial will be in Auburn cemetery, Highland County, Ohio. Friend may call from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Thursday, April 15, 2004 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Joshua Jones and Aaron Snider Trust Fund at Wilmington Savings Bank, 184 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio 45177.

MARGARET F. HOOPER
Margaret F. Hooper, 78, of Wilmington, Ohio died 12:55 AM, April 4, 2004 at Clinton Memorial Hospital. Her husband, Vernon L. Hooper preceded her in death March 5, 2003. They were married August 7, 1944. Mrs. Hooper was born October 13, 1925 in Owenton, Kentucky to the late Luther and Myrtie Meacham Jones. She was a graduate of Wilmington College.
Mrs. Hooper was a retired schoolteacher, having taught in a one-room schoolhouse in Owen County, Kentucky, Clarksville School, Hillsboro School, and eventually retiring from Clinton Massie Schools. She was a member of the Wilmington Elks Golf Course, where she recorded three holes-in-one.
Mrs. Hooper is survived by two sons, Vernon J. “Butch” (Connie) Hooper of Leesburg, Ohio and Bobby Joe (Beverly) Hooper of Augusta, Georgia; a sister, Lou Alma Gaines of Owen County, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Stephanie (Glen) Blessing of New Vienna, Ohio, Angela (Dwayne) Luttrell of Sabina, Ohio, Amy Hooper of Columbus, Ohio, and Karina Jo (Josh) Trampler of Clarksville, Ohio; and eleven great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, three brothers, Orville Jones, Ira Jones, and Clifford Jones are preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Pastor John Sodini officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove cemetery. Friends may call from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
