JESSIE “JOANNA” ROBINSON
Jessie “Joanna” Robinson, 73, of 301 Doan Street, Wilmington, Ohio died 3:20 PM, Thursday, September 30, 2004 at her residence. Her husband of 56 years, Gilbert Robinson Jr., survives. They were married September 4, 1948. Mrs. Robinson was born January 8, 1931 in Wilmington, Ohio to the late Jesse and Faye Bradshaw Stephens. She was a graduate of Wilmington High School.
Mrs. Robinson was a mother, a homemaker, and provided childcare to many children over the years. She had also worked at G.C. Murphy in Wilmington. She was a member of the Bible Missionary Baptist Church, where she was active in the church kitchen. She was also a member of the Clinton County Mental Retardation & Developmentally Disabled Board.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Robinson is survived by two sons, Jackie (Cathy) Robinson of Wilmington, Ohio and Frankie (Deidre) Robinson of Richmond, Virginia; four daughters, Marjorie (Lenard) Curtis of Wilmington, Ohio, Deborah Flemming of Columbus, Ohio, Bobbie (Donald) Howard of Wilmington, Ohio, and Virginia Knaff of Dayton, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Norma Tyler of Columbus, Ohio; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, a brother, Preston Stephens; three sisters, Virginia Cowan, Betty Jimison, and Kay Lewis; and two grandsons, Anthony Dixon and Royce Robinson are preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, October 4, 2004 at Bible Missionary Baptist Church, 243 Grant Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Pastor Kurtis L. Summerville officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Sunday, October 3, 2004 at Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio and from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, Monday, October 4, 2004 at the Bible Missionary Baptist Church.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Clinton County M.R.D.D. Board, 4425 St. Rte. 730, Wilmington, Ohio 45177.

KATELYN DeJESUS LOPEZ
Katelyn DeJesus Lopez, 5 months old, of 345 Doan Street, Apt. 8, Wilmington, Ohio died 4:29 AM, Thursday, October 7, 2004 at Children's Medical Center, Dayton, Ohio. Katelyn was born April 23, 2004 in Wilmington, Ohio the daughter of Demetrio Lopez and Rebecca Turner, both of Wilmington.
In addition to her parents, Katelyn is survived by a brother, John Peacock Jr. of Wilmington, Ohio; her grandparents, Jose Antonio Lopez of Wilmington, Ohio and Manuela de Jesus Ramirez of Mexico; her great grandmother, Ola Mae Fields; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Katelyn is preceded in death by two sisters, Brionna Lyn Mae Peacock and Johna Matthews Peacock; her grandfather, Thomas Turner; and her grandmother, Deborah Lynn Reeder.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, October 11, 2004 at the Wilmington Church of God, 100 R. Gordon Drive, Wilmington, Ohio with Rev. Elizabeth J. Looney officiating. Burial will be in Gist Settlement cemetery, Highland County. Friends may call from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM, Monday, October 11, 2004 at the Wilmington Church of God.

ELSIE GARRISON SATTERFIELD
Elsie Garrison Satterfield, 97, of 115 First Street, New Vienna, Ohio died Monday, September 20, 2004 at her residence. Her first husband, Arnold Garrison, and her second husband, Archie Satterfield, preceded her in death. She was born August 10, 1907 in Highland County, Ohio to the late Richard Orville and Zelma Edith Thompson Yarger. She was a secretary for GTE in Wilmington, Ohio for many years as well as a homemaker and a farm wife.
She is survived by a stepson, Dick Satterfield of Costa Rica; a sister, Kyda Prickett of Highland, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews including, Michael (Shirley) Prickett, Stephen (Ann) Prickett, Douglas (Judy) Prickett, Gregory (Gladys) Prickett, Deborah Brock, Linda Vinup, David Lee Kaufman, Karen Wright, and Ricky Kaufman as well as other nieces and nephews who are living out of the state. In addition to her first husband, second husband, and her parents, a brother, James Richard Yarger, three sisters, Mozelle Walsh, Mary Elizabeth Sullivan, and Helen Lorraine Kaufman, and a niece, Tonya Prickett, are preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Friday, September 24, 2004 at the L. Eugene Smith & Son Funeral Home, 64 S. South Street, New Vienna, Ohio. Burial will be in Clinton Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Thursday, September 23, 2004 at the L. Eugene Smith & Son Funeral Home. MARIE B. COOPER
Marie B. Cooper, 89, of New Vienna, died 4:10 AM, Sunday, September 26, 2004 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Cooper. Mrs. Cooper was born December 16, 1914, in Greene County, Ohio, daughter of the late John and Anna Grindle Bovey. She was a volunteer at Clinton Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the New Vienna United Methodist Church, New Vienna Senior Citizens, United Methodist Women, Mothers' Club and the Clinton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Mrs. Cooper is survived by three sons, Ed Cooper of Dayton, Ohio, Bob (Theresa) Cooper of Albuquerque, New Mexico,, and Tom (Tuan) Cooper of Phoenix, Arizona; two grandchildren, Brian Cooper and David (Christina) Cooper; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Della Sears Bovey; a brother, Roy Bovey; and a sister, Jesse Jackson.
Funeral services will be 11 AM, Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at the L. Eugene Smith & Son Funeral Home, 64 S. South Street, New Vienna, Ohio with burial in New Vienna I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call from 4 PM - 6 PM, Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at the funeral home.

JASON KEITH FRYE
Jason Keith Frye, 26, of 1404 Levo Road, New Vienna, Ohio died 6:26 AM, Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at Clinton Memorial Hospital Emergency Room. Mr. Frye was born March 18, 1978 in Hamilton, Ohio the son of Brenda Frye of New Vienna, Ohio and Gordon McCreary.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Frye is survived by two sons, Chance Taylor Frye and Brandon Frye; a daughter, Chaylee Frye; and a sister, Debra Easley.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 13, 2004 at the L. Eugene Smith & Son Funeral Home, 64 S. South Street, New Vienna, Ohio with Sidney Clay officiating. Burial will be in New Vienna I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Friday, November 12, 2004 at the L. Eugene Smith & Son Funeral Home.

EDNA MARIE ROBERSON HARDING
Edna Marie Roberson Harding, 80, of Wilmington, Ohio passed this life on Thursday, November 11, 2004 at 12:35 PM. Her devoted husband, Ralph Harding, preceded her in death. Mrs. Harding was born August 22, 1924 in Wilmington, Ohio to the late Fred and Lenora Ward Roberson. She was a graduate of Wilmington High School and attended Wilbur Force University. She was a member of Bible Missionary Baptist Church. Her response to life’s challenges was always “Give glory to the Lord.”
Mrs. Harding leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Lenora (Larry) Banks, Patty Ann (Waldo) Fannin, and Margaret Ruth (John) Jones; a son, Ralph Harding; a brother, Thomas Roberson; a sister, Dorothy Moss; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a host of relatives. In addition to her husband and parents, a son, Neal Harding, a brother, Frederick Roberson, a sister, Margaret Carter; and a great granddaughter, Jordan Marie O’Neil.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at the Bible Missionary Baptist Church, 243 Grant Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Pastor Kurtis L. Summerville officiating. ALFRED R. “AL” PURTEE
Alfred R. “Al” Purtee, 81, of 274 Linton Drive, Wilmington, Ohio died 9:40 PM, Friday, November 12, 2004 at his daughter’s residence, 6339 Riber Road, Hillsboro, Ohio. Mr. Purtee was born September 27, 1923 in New Antioch, Ohio to the late John and Janie Grooms Purtee. He was a graduate of New Vienna High School and served in the Army Air Force during World War II. Mr. Purtee was a retired letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Wilmington.
Mr. Purtee is survived by a son, Jeff (Pam) Purtee of Wilmington, Ohio; two daughters, Jennifer (Dan) Williamson of Victoria, Texas and Jana (Andy) Cooper of Hillsboro, Ohio; a brother, Charles (Janice) Purtee of Hillsboro, Ohio; two sisters, Mary Eickleberry of New Vienna, Ohio and Wanita (Jack) Dowler of Kettering, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Bobby (Audrey) Purtee, Benjamin Purtee, Ashley Purtee, Mitchell Williamson, Eric Williamson, Sara Cooper, and Andrew Cooper IV; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, a brother, Frank Purtee, and two grandchildren, Lindsey Purtee and Brett Purtee precede him in death.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 20, 2004 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1769 State Route 73 West, Wilmington, Ohio with Brother Randy Zurface officiating. Friends may call from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Thursday, November 18, 2004 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio.

DORIS M. McCOLLUM
Doris M. McCollum, 74, of 4653 County Road 187, West Liberty, Ohio (formerly of Wilmington, Ohio) died 1:30 AM, Sunday, November 21, 2004 at her residence. Her husband, Marvin W. McCollum, preceded her in death January 6, 2003. They were married June 8, 1948. Mrs. McCollum was born January 27, 1930 in Hamilton County, Ohio to the late William T. and Nellie G. Rager Ashmore. She was a graduate of Clarksville High School.
Mrs. McCollum retired after 30 years as a monitor technician and ward clerk at Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church of Wilmington.
Mrs. McCollum is survived by two sons, Wayne E. (Janet) McCollum of Muskegon, Michigan and Myron D. (Sharon) McCollum of West Liberty, Ohio; two daughters, Julia Ann (Dennis) Watkins of West Liberty, Ohio and Jacque Lynne (Wayne) Powell of Urbana, Ohio; two brothers, Elmer (Marjorie) Ashmore of Wilmington, Ohio and William (Bonnie) Ashmore of Lebanon, Ohio; a sister, Evelyn (Farmer) Whitacre of Morrow, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Christina Ulmer, Chad Ulmer, Tara (Josh) McGill, Duane (Nicole) McCollum, Jason McCollum, Kyle Gundolf, Ashley Gundolf, Brian McCollum, and Nathan McCollum; nine great grandchildren, Tyler Ulmer, Peighton Ulmer, John Ulmer, Matthew Ulmer, Julie Ulmer, Shelby Ulmer, Chase Ulmer, Tristen Miknist, and Kera McGill; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, a brother, Burdett Ashmore, and a sister, Estella Satterthwaite, are preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Pastor Kelly D. McInerney officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Township cemetery, Westboro, Ohio. Friends may call from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home. JOYCE ANN POOLE HAYSLIP
Joyce Ann Poole Hayslip, 58, of 9520 Rocklick Road, Hillsboro, Ohio died 6:15 AM, Sunday, November 21, 2004 at her residence. Her husband, Clarence Raymond “Ray” Hayslip, preceded her in death June 12, 2004. They were married August 8, 1964. Mrs. Hayslip was born May 4, 1946 in Greenfield, Ohio to the late Elias and Lena Newell Poole.
Mrs. Hayslip is survived by a son, Raymond Brian (Melinda) Hayslip of Hillsboro, Ohio; two daughters, Diana Christine (David) Gill of Hillsboro, Ohio and Sherry Renee (Roy) Lamb of Harveysburg, Ohio; seven brothers, Richard (Betty) Poole, Donald (Brenda) Poole, Billy (Tee) Poole, Charlie (Kathryn) Poole, Bernard (Loretta) Poole, Dale (Teri) Poole, and Wendell (Juleta) Poole; four sisters, Louise Smeal, Geraldine (John) Lamb, Linda (Kenneth) Hotard, and Barbara Jean (Phil) Cash; seven grandchildren, Gregory Hayslip, Stephanie Hayslip, Bethany Hayslip, Tomy Hayslip, Autumn Clark, Kyle Clark, and Alexander Gill; eight step grandchildren, Karen Gill, Jonathan Gill, Jonathan Lamb, Jaimie Lamb, Tommy Parlier, Cody Parlier, Jacob Parlier, and Megan Parlier; and a great grandchild, Brance Hayslip. In addition to her husband and parents, a sister, Marie Musselman, is preceded in death.
Graveside services will be 2:30 PM, Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at the Clarksville cemetery with Rev. Jim Lamb officiating. Friends may call from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at the Harveysburg Sure Foundation Ministries, Harveysburg, Ohio.

D. WILBUR WILLIAMS
D. Wilbur Williams, 86, of Wilmington, Ohio, died 2:40 AM, Sunday, May 15, 2005 at Clinton Memorial Hospital. His wife, Avonelle Brown Williams, whom he married June 1, 1947, survives. Mr. Williams was born August 10, 1918, in Chester Township, Clinton County, son of the late Walter L. and Edna Janney Williams. He was a graduate of Kingman High School and The Ohio State University. Mr. Williams was a captain in the U.S. Army, 30th Infantry during World War II, and a recipient of the Purple Heart.
Mr. Williams was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Wilmington United Methodist Church, Wilmington F&AM; #52, Miami Chapter Order of Eastern Star in Waynesville and the Farm Bureau Council #16 for 55-plus years. He was also active in many agriculture-related organizations, and was an original school board member of Clinton-Massie School District.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Williams is survived by a son, James (Debbie) Williams of Wilmington, Ohio; three daughters, Jane (Richard) Lane of Centerville, Ohio, Judy (Roy) Roush of Orient, Ohio, and Nancy Jean Williams of Wilmington, Ohio; a sister, Barbara (John) Bay of Wilmington, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Camille (Michael) Kopczewski of Grove City, Ohio, Gretchen (Steve) Mossbarger of Good Hope, Ohio, Rebecca (Chad) Moehl of Orient, Ohio, Alissa Colvin of Seattle, Washington, Jeremy (Jammie) Lane of Wilmington, Ohio, Lindsey Williams of Wilmington, Ohio, Justin Williams of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Tara Williams of Santa Fe, New Mexico; and four great-grandchildren, Victoria Lane, Chad Lane, Michaela Kopczewski, and Logan Mossbarger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Winifred Elaine Williams, who died in 1951.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 19, 2005 at the Wilmington United Methodist Church, 50 East Locust Street, Wilmington, Ohio. Burial will be in Miami cemetery, Corwin, Ohio. Friends may call from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at the Wilmington United Methodist Church.

LUCILLE H. SIMMONS
Lucille H. Simmons, 88, of 75 Hale Street, Wilmington, Ohio (for 60 years she lived at 523 W. Main Street in Wilmington, which was also known as “The Old Red Brick”) died 10:45 PM, Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at Clinton Memorial Hospital. Her husband, Don W. Simmons, preceded her in death in 1971. They were married September 11, 1937. Mrs. Simmons was born December 23, 1916 in Warren County, Ohio, daughter of the late William J. and Effie Branstrator Hagemeyer. She was a graduate of Martinsville High School.
Mrs. Simmons and her husband, Don, owned and operated an antique store in Wilmington for many years. She also worked as a receptionist for Dr. Reagan’s office, and then as a secretary in the Clinton Memorial Hospital Emergency Room until her retirement in 1986. After retirement, she was an antique appraiser for Kersey Real Estate and Auction Company. She was a member of the Wilmington Friends Meeting and the Order of Eastern Star. She also organized an antique show at the Clinton County Fairgrounds for several years.
Mrs. Simmons is survived by a son, Timothy H. (Susan) Simmons of Greensboro, North Carolina; a sister-in-law, Leota Hagemeyer of Wilmington, Ohio; two stepgrandchildren, Michael Carruth of Savannah, Georgia and Tarin Swendra of Savannah, Georgia; a niece, Donna Sue Holmes of Wilmington, Ohio; a nephew, Keith (Connie) Hagemeyer of Blanchester, Ohio; five great nephews, Justin Holmes, Jarred Holmes, Joel Holmes, Lance Hagemeyer, and Curt Hagemeyer; and her grand-dog, Rocket. In addition to her husband and parents, a stepson, Donald A. Simmons, a stepdaughter, Judith S. Ames, and a brother, Wayne Hagemeyer, are preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon, Saturday, May 21, 2005 at Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Larry Barker officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove cemetery. Friends may call from 10:30 AM – 12:00 Noon, Saturday, May 21, 2005 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.
