MARK LOUIS PETERSON
Mark Louis Peterson, 53, passed peacefully with his family by his side November 12, 2009 at his home on Center Road, Wilmington, Ohio after losing a 15-month battle with brain cancer. His wife, Tami Sue West Peterson, survives. They were married October 10, 2008. Mr. Peterson was born May 27, 1956 in Wilmington, Ohio, son of Martha S. Peterson of Wilmington, Ohio and the late Paul K. Peterson. He was a 1974 graduate of Clinton Massie High School and attended Wright State University and the University of Dayton.
Mr. Peterson worked as a Ramp Lead at ABX/DHL for 30 years until he became ill with cancer. He loved being a private pilot, his work, nature, fishing, and hunting with his close friends and family. He will be sorely missed by all whose lives were touched by his generous and kind spirit.
In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Peterson is survived by two brothers, Dennis (Patricia) Peterson of St. Joseph Missouri and Shaun (Chris) Peterson of Wilmington, Ohio; two step-children, Codey Harris Schalk of Wilmington, Ohio and Emily Michelle Schalk of Wilmington, Ohio; and nieces and nephews, Kendra Peterson Schwartz, Alysa Peterson, Jacob McGee, and Ellen Peterson. He will also be missed by his trusted schnauzers, Sugar and Spice.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Pastor Bob Jones officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove cemetery, Wilmington, Ohio. Friends may call from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Monday, November 16, 2009 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.

HAROLD DANE TOMPKINS
Harold Dane Tompkins, 87, of Wilmington, Ohio died 5:35 AM, Monday, November 16, 2009 at Hospice of Cincinnati. His wife, Georgia Baldwin Tompkins, preceded him in death in 1990. Mr. Tompkins was born January 25, 1922 in New Petersburg, Ohio, son of the late Harley and Mary Pauline Perie Tompkins. He was a graduate of Fairfield High School, and served in the U.S. Army Infantry during World War II.
Mr. Tompkins retired from Suburban Propane where he had worked as a fuel deliveryman. He was a member of the American Legion Post 49, the VFW, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the DAV.
Mr. Tompkins is survived by two daughters, Shirley Tompkins of Michigan and Trudy Aebig of Cincinnati, Ohio; a stepson, Richard (Sybil) Yazell of Deland, Florida; three sisters, Isabel (Robert) Baldwin of Leesburg, Ohio, Betty Taylor of Leesburg, Ohio, and Mary Ann (Fred) Ferring of Hudson, Massachusetts; two granddaughters, Sarah Beaumont of Cincinnati, Ohio and Rachael Beaumont of Cincinnati, Ohio; two great grandchildren, Brettany Tompkins and Jodie Tompkins; a brother-in-law, Jim Rhonemus of Wilmington, Ohio; a stepdaughter-in-law, Beth Yazell of Florida; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, a son, Harold "Rex" Tompkins, a stepson, Roger Yazell, five sisters, Jane Rhonemus, Donna Jean Tompkins, Bertie Lou Tompkins, Sara Tompkins, and Ruth Smith, and two grandsons, Jay D. Tompkins and Brett A. Tompkins, are preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill cemetery, Leesburg, Ohio with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 49 Memorial Squad. Friends may call from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Friday, November 20, 2009 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home. BERNICE GEORGES
Bernice Georges, 100, of Sabina, Ohio died 6:30 PM, Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Autumn Years Nursing Home. Her husband, James Andrew Georges Sr., preceded her in death June 9, 1980. They were married June 10, 1937. Mrs. Georges was born June 10, 1909 in Hillsboro, Ohio, daughter of the late Henry Atwood Huffenberger and Pearl Wright Huffenberger. She was a graduate of Wilmington High School.
Mrs. Georges was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. Prior to her marriage, she had worked at Sheeter's Five and Dime Store in Wilmington. She was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church. She had been active in the Sacred Heart Sodality and the Clinton County Historical Society. She also enjoyed creating oil paintings at Clara Linkhart's Art Studio in New Vienna.
Mrs. Georges is survived by a son, James A. (Ruth) Georges Jr. of Hillsboro, Ohio; four daughters, Rita Ann (Nick) Estell of Sabina, Ohio, Rose Mary Wilson of Big Rapids, Michigan, Patricia (Jerry) Sewell of Wilmington, Ohio, and Jeanie (Robert) Klockner of Newark, Ohio; 24 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a close friend, Ruby Kessler; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, two brothers, Vernon Huffenberger and Robert Huffenberger, and a sister, Pauline Ritenour, are preceded in death.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 28, 2009 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church, 73 N. Mulberry Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Rev. James M. Wedig officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Friday, November 27, 2009 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home.

RUBY JESSALYN SNELLING
Ruby Jessalyn Snelling, 72, of Wilmington, Ohio, died 5:10 AM, Thursday, December 10, 2009 in Clinton Memorial Hospital. Her loving husband of 37 years, Donald A. Snelling, preceded her in death March 10, 1995. Mrs. Snelling was born November 12, 1937 in Clarksville, Ohio, daughter of the late Lester H. "Bud" Dunn and Virginia Greathouse Dunn. She was a graduate of Wilmington High School.
Mrs. Snelling retired from Clinton Memorial Hospital. She was a lifelong member of the Wilmington United Methodist Church, but had recently joined Bible Baptist Church of Wilmington. She was a devoted wife and mother who lived her life with quiet courage and dignity. She was a sweet and gentle soul who was loved by all who knew her.
Mrs. Snelling is survived by two sons, David (Darcy) Snelling of Battle Creek Michigan and John (Dena) Snelling of Wilmington, Ohio; two daughters, Patricia (Donald) Richards of Wilmington, Ohio and Judith (Dan) Cutter of Wilmington, Ohio; two brothers, Richard (Marge) Dunn of Xenia, Ohio and Ronald (Linda) Dunn of Miamisburg, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Sean, Cindy, Ty, Nick, Casey, Ginny and Alex; seven great-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, her stepmother, Rosetta Dunn, and a stepsister, Carolyn Hewitt, are preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon, Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Josh Dixon officiating. CHARLES "CHUCK" ROSENBERGER
Charles "Chuck" Rosenberger, 72, died Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at Clinton Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. His wife, Phyllis Clark Rosenberger, survives. Mr. Rosenberger was born January 24, 1937 in Clarksville, Ohio, son of the late Charles J. and Ruth Wysong, Rosenberger.
For 25 years Mr. Rosenberger was co-owner of Rosenberger Trucking. He was also supervisor of bus transportation at Clinton-Massie for 27 years, retiring in May 2007. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and community servant. He served 11 years with the Ohio Army National Guard, posted at the Blanchester Armory. Mr. Rosenberger was also a long-time member of the Clarksville Volunteer Fire Department and served the citizens of Clarksville as member of council and mayor. He loved to serve others and was an example to all in his family.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Rosenberger is survived by one son, Michael (SonYe) Rosenberger; two daughters, Sheila Rose and Vanessa Rosenberger, and four grandchildren, Clifford Rosenberger, Gregory Rose, Megan Rosenberger, and Phillip Rose, all of Clarksville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward "Buddy" Rosenberger.
As his wife, children, and family, we suffer the loss greatly and we know we have lost one of the best husbands, fathers, and grandfathers that anyone could have, but we know he has gone to a good home where there will be no more suffering and sorrow.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Bethany Baptist Church, 10156 State Route 350, Clarksville, Ohio. Burial will be in Clarksville cemetery. RUBY LEE WRIGHT
Ruby Lee Wright, 86, of Wilmington, Ohio died 5:00 AM, Sunday, December 20, 2009 at her residence. Ms. Wright was born October 15, 1923 in Troy, Alabama, daughter of the late Rev. Jesse W. and Mattie Glover Wright.
She had worked as a nurses' aide at Wilmington Nursing & Rehabilitation Residence. During her life, she had also been employed at the Irwin Auger Bit in Wilmington, the Clinton County Children's Home, and the Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama. She was a member of Quinn Chapel A.M.E. in Wilmington and a former member of The Order of the Eastern Star Alma Pride Chapter 532 in Montgomery, Alabama. She was also a client of the Clinton County Adult Day Care Center.
Ms. Wright is survived by two sons, Willie James Mumefield of Montgomery, Alabama and Eddie Charles (Sally) Wright of Montgomery, Alabama; a daughter, Barbara J. Jernigan of Wilmington, Ohio; three sisters-in-law, Rochelle Wright of New Jersey, Earis Wright of Montgomery, Alabama, and Adeline Wright of Montgomery, Alabama; four grandchildren, David Jernigan, Darrell Jernigan, Donald Gaston, and Angie Wright Jenkins; seven great grandchildren, Derek McMahan, David Jernigan Jr., Kamalah Jernigan, Raven Givens, Tamarah Gaston, Reginald Jenkins, and Quadche-Che Jenkins; two great-great grandchildren; her aunt, Beulah Tillman; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, four brothers and a sister-in-law, Eddie and Alice Wright, Robert Wright, Willie Wright, and James A. Wright, are preceded in death.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church, 50 N. Lincoln Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Rev. Erwin McIntosh officiating. Burial will be in Sugar Grove cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 Noon - 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at the Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church.

LINDA L. SALVAIL
Linda L. Salvail, 66, of Wilmington, Ohio died 10:00 PM, Monday, December 21, 2009 at her residence. Ms. Salvail was born February 9, 1943 in Bristol, Tennessee, daughter of Hiram Kaufman of Hillsboro, Ohio and the late Helen Yarger Kaufman. She was a graduate of Little Miami High School. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church of Wilmington and had been involved with the Wilmington Emmaus Community.
In addition to her father, Ms. Salvail is survived by two sons, Rich (Angie) Vinup Jr. of Wilmington, Ohio and Tim (Jamie) Vinup of Clarksville, Ohio; a daughter, Tonia (Doug) Johnson of Wilmington, Ohio; two brothers, David Kaufman of Blanchester, Ohio and Rick Kaufman of Wilmington, Ohio; a sister, Karen (Randy) Tyler of Peebles, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Vinup, Leigha Vinup, Hunter Vinup, Tanner Vinup, Dustin Johnson, Camden Vinup, and Cara Vinup; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Monday, December 28, 2009 at Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Josh Dixon officiating. Burial will be in Edwardsville cemetery. WILLIAM D. SANDERSON
William D. Sanderson, 86, of Wilmington, Ohio died 3:44 AM, Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at the Ohio Veteran's Home, Georgetown, Ohio. His wife, Nedra M. Sanderson, preceded him in death August 30, 2004. They were married June 26, 1948. Mr. Sanderson was born March 21, 1923 in Bloomington, Ohio, son of the late Milton and Mary Johnson Sanderson. He was a 1941 graduate of Jefferson Township High School in Bowersville.
After graduation from high school, Mr. Sanderson worked at NCR in Dayton prior to his entry into the Army Air Corps in January 1943. During World War II, he was based in China where he served as a tail gunner on B-24 bombers flying ten combat missions over Southeast Asia. On his final mission, a low altitude-bombing mission of Japanese shipping in the South China Sea, Mr. Sanderson's plane was shot down and he was forced to bail out over the Japanese controlled portion of French Indo-China. With the help of the Free French, Mr. Sanderson and the pilot were rescued and transported through enemy occupied territory and eventually returned to the American military in China. After the war, Mr. Sanderson returned to Wilmington and worked at the Defense Electronics Supply Center and Clinton County AFB until he retired in 1971.
During retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, home improvement projects, and spending time with his grandsons. He was an avid sports fan, following the Reds, Bengals, and Buckeyes. In his younger days, he played softball and enjoyed bowling.
Mr. Sanderson is survived by a son, W. Gary Sanderson of Wilmington, Ohio; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda L. & Reid Larsen of Philomath, Oregon; a sister and brother-in-law, Loretta & James Goodbar of Bowersville, Ohio; a brother and three sisters-in-law, Roger & Barbara Sanderson of Bloomington, Ohio, Eleanor Sanderson of Elkhart, Indiana, and Lue (Victor) Herbert of St. Louis Missouri; five grandchildren, Matthew Sanderson, Kyle Sanderson, Bradley Sanderson, Berkeley Larsen, and Connor Larsen; a niece, Jill Ambrose of Elkhart, Indiana; six nephews, Michael Sanderson of Elkhart Indiana, Robert Sanderson of Florida, Dennis Goodbar of Bowersville, Ohio, Richard Thomas of Jamestown, Ohio, Michael Thomas of Xenia, Ohio, and Mark Thomas of Xenia, Ohio; as well as several cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Carroll Sanderson and Russell & Mary Sanderson, and a sister and brother-in-law, Geraldine & Lawrence Thomas, are preceded in death.

GEORGIA ELLEN VANCE
Georgia Ellen Vance, 87, of New Vienna, Ohio died 9:50 PM, Friday, January 1, 2010 at Highland District Hospital, Hillsboro, Ohio. Her husband, Arthur F. Vance, preceded her in death. They were married February 14, 1939. Mrs. Vance was born October 17, 1922 in New Vienna, Ohio, daughter of the late Alva W. and Lillian Carey Woods.
In addition to being a homemaker, Mrs. Vance had also been a factory worker. She was a member of Auburn United Methodist Church and had been active in the Auburn Ladies Aid Society.
Mrs. Vance is survived by a son, Francis A. (Debbie) Vance of Leesburg, Ohio; two daughters, Jean (Cecil E.) Mitchell of New Vienna, Ohio and Patricia (Raymond) Bauer of Hillsboro, Ohio; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Faymon D. & Irene Woods of Georgia and Joan Woods of Hillsboro, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Jeff (Char) Bauer of Hillsboro, Ohio, Joy Bauer (Scott) Bates of Leesburg, Ohio, Tim (Kathy) Bauer of Leesburg, Ohio, Dennis (Tommie) Mitchell of Leesburg, Ohio, Mike (Jackie) Mitchell of New Vienna, Ohio, Brad (Rhonda) Mitchell of Hillsboro, Ohio, Travis Vance of Washington C.H., Ohio, Angie (J.D.) Layne of Hillsboro, Ohio, and Robin (Tony) Bellamy of Leesburg, Ohio; 16 grandchildren, Chasidy Bauer, Brittany Bauer, Josh Bauer, Kylie Bates, Ryan Bates, Logan Bates, Caleb Bauer, Zane Mitchell, Kylie Mitchell, Zach Mitchell, Matt Mitchell, Payton Layne, Jillian Layne, Cali Layne, Olivia Bellamy, and Ashlyn Bellamy; and special friends, Cody Bush and Colton Evans. In addition to her husband and parents, two brothers, Richard "Dick" Woods and Dale Woods, are preceded in death.

DANNY DELAWDER
Danny DeLawder, 57, of Wilmington, Ohio died 3:52 AM, Friday, January 29, 2010 at the Clinton Memorial Hospital Emergency Room. His wife, Linda DeLawder, whom he married July 1, 1978, survives. Mr. DeLawder was born June 4, 1952 in Ironton, Ohio, son of Howard and Lucille DeLawder of Fairborn, Ohio. He was a graduate of Baker High School in Fairborn, Ohio, and a graduate of ITT Technical Institute with a degree in architectural design. He also served in the U.S. Army.
While living in Texas, Mr. DeLawder worked for the Fort Worth, Texas and the City of Benbrook, Texas Department of Parks and Recreation. After returning to Ohio, Mr. DeLawder began working for Clinton County as the Building and Zoning Inspector. He was currently serving as the Clinton County Dog Warden. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting, and fishing. He participated every year in the City of Wilmington Golf League. He also loved animals.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. DeLawder is survived by a son, Jeremiah (Sandy) DeLawder of Killeen, Texas; a daughter, Elizabeth DeLawder of Wilmington, Ohio; a brother, Dallas (Janet) DeLawder of Tennessee; two sisters, Deborah (Dale) Wilker of West Chester, Ohio and Darlene (Kenny Mulvaney) DeLawder of Fairborn, Ohio; his mother-in-law, Shirley (Paul) Filson of Xenia, Ohio; his step-mother-in-law, Linda G. Blanton; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. A brother, Howard DeLawder Jr., and his father-in-law, Paul Blanton, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South Street, Wilmington, Ohio with Pastor David McClellan officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral service. Friends may call from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Clinton County Dog and Kennel, c/o Clinton County Treasurer.
