Ozel Clark

Birmingham, Ohio - Ozel Clark, 85, of Birmingham, Ohio went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday evening September 12, 2011 in Specialty Hospital of Lorain, Amherst, Ohio. She was born May 23, 1926 in Robbins, Tennessee to the late Sudley and Charity (Sexton) Griffith.
Ozel attended North Lake Missionary Baptist Church in South Amherst. She had been a member of the First Church of God of Elyria for most of her life. She loved to garden, make quilts, do word search puzzles and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter and son in law Judy and Robert Reed of Zanesville, Ohio, by her grandchildren, Wendy D. Tallman, Lonnie Miller, and Mystie Long, and by her great grandchildren, Jessica, Richard, Samuel, Kayla, Madison, Michael, and Christa. She is also survived by her sisters Imanell Fiebiger of Vermilion, Ohio, and Jean Gray of Elyria, Ohio and by her brother and sister in law Rev. Joe and Faye Griffith, of Elyria, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Clark, twin daughters Janet and Jeanette, in infancy, brothers Odeva and twins Zethra and Zenial, and by her sister Evilee. A celebration of Ozel's life will be held on Friday, September 16, 2011 from 11:00 A.M until time of services at 1:00 P.M. at North Lake Missionary Baptist Church, 323 North Lake St., South Amherst, Ohio with Rev. Gary Griffith and Rev. Earl Connor officiating. Burial will be in Florence Township cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to North Lake Missionary Baptist Church. Walker Funeral Home 98 West Main St. Norwalk, Ohio is in charge of arrangements.

Johnny R. Scaggs

Norwalk, Ohio - Johnny R. Scaggs, 52, of Norwalk, Ohio, died Friday, September 2, 2011 in his home. He was born October 3, 1958 in Logan, West Virginia to the late John E. and Alma (Messer) Scaggs and came to this area in 1972 from Logan.
Johnny was a 1976 graduate of Midview High School in Elyria, Ohio and was a carpenter. He was a member of Eagles Aerie #711, Norwalk, Ohio and Wakeman Eagles Club. He enjoyed hiking, fishing,, and playing his guitar.
Johnny is survived by his by Soul Mate, Becky Kaltenbach of Norwalk, Ohio and by her children, Betty Jo DeHaven, Pauline Annette Kovac, Shaun Peter Kaltenbach, and Benjamin Clayton Kaltenbach, and by her grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers and sister in law, Keith Scaggs of Lorain, Ohio, Roger Scaggs of Elyria, Ohio and Paul and Debbie Scaggs of Lorain, Ohio and by his sisters and brother in law, Debbie Ferrell of Elyria, Ohio and Sharon and Speedy Waters of Vermilion, Ohio. There will be no calling hours, memorial services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Scaggs family.
Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio is in charge of arrangements.

Molly A. Vogus

Willard, Ohio - Molly A. Vogus, 86, of Willard, and formerly of Norwalk, Ohio died Wednesday afternoon, October 12, 2011 in Hillside Acres Nursing Center. She was born January 22, 1925 to the late Harry H. and Elouise (Kennedy) Broome and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church of Willard, Ohio, and was a former member of St. Mary, and St. Paul Catholic Churches of, Norwalk, Ohio. She was the former organist at St. Paul Catholic Church, taught music at St. Paul High School, was the church soloist at First Presbyterian Church, Norwalk, Ohio, also played organ at St. Paul Episcopal Church, Norwalk, Ohio, and sang at the Town and Country Theatre in Norwalk, Ohio. Molly was also a member of the Norwalk Musical Club, Child Conservation League, Maple City Garden Club, and the Shoe String Players. She loved her pets.
She is survived by her daughters and sons in law Marcia and Neil Robinson, of Norwalk, Ohio, Diane and Jeff Mazzocco, of Willard, Ohio, with whom she made her home, Monica and Norman Thomsen, of Sandusky, Ohio, and Denise Bortz of Elmore, Ohio. She is also survived by grandchildren, Scott and Brenna Blymyer, Nicholle and Jim Pearson, Matthew Bortz, Meaghann and Nathan Green, and Jeffrey Immel, and by 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Vogus in 2003, and by a grandson.
Friends may call on Monday, October 17, 2011 from 10:00 A.M. until time of services at 11:00 A.M. in First Presbyterian Church, 21 Firelands Blvd, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Adrian Doll and Fr. Eric Culler will officiate. Inurnment will be in St. Paul cemetery, Norwalk, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 55 Whittlesey Ave., Norwalk, Ohio, or to the Huron County Humane Society, 246 Woodlawn Ave. Norwalk, Ohio. Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main St. Norwalk, Ohio is in charge of arrangements.

Walter D. Dishman

Norwalk, Ohio - Walter D. Dishman, 70, of Norwalk, died Thursday, October 6, 2011 in Twilight Gardens Nursing Center. He was born November 26, 1940 in Red Jacket, West Virginia to the late Walter and Bessie (Grimmett) Dishman and had lived in this area since 1961.
He liked to fish, be outdoors, and spend time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Karen (Lawrence) Dishman, of Norwalk, Ohio, and by his sons and daughter in law, Scott Dishman, of Norwalk, Ohio and Michael David and Angie Mounts of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and by two granddaughters, Meghann DeWees and Kristen Mounts. Walter is also survived by his brother, Doug Dishman of Columbus, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his brothers, William and Milton Dishman.
Friends may call on Sunday, October 9, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00p.m., in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main St10, 2011 at 2:00p.m. in Hester cemetery, Norwalk, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Warren J. Fink

Norwalk, Ohio - Warren J. Fink, twin son of Tina M. Knittel and Garry O. Fink, was born on Thursday, September 15, 2011 in University Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio, and passed away the same day.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his twin brother, Wesley Allen Fink, and by his brothers, Trenton Knittel, Michael Arreche, and Owen Fink. Warren is also survived by his Maternal Grandparents, Sylvia Knittel of Norwalk, Ohio and Ronald Knittel of Sandusky, Ohio, by his Paternal Grandparents, Charlotte and Gary Fink of Willard, Ohio, by aunts, great aunts, great uncles and cousins.
There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be private.

Anita M. Junk

Anita M. Junk, 86 of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away September 8, 2011 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, Ohio. Anita was born in London, Ohio, to the late Jerry and Marie Sullivan.
After graduating from London High School, Anita worked at the selective service office. She met Ned on a blind date; married four years later and moved to Norwalk, Ohio, where she maintained a nurturing environment for her four children. She was an avid reader and was known for her baking skills, especially her tasty cinnamon rolls. Anita later enjoyed working at the Sears catalog office in Norwalk. She was very active at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Norwalk as a Eucharistic minister and was involved in several bible study groups. She had also volunteered at the local board of elections.
Ned and Anita celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary before Ned passed away five months later in 2010. She will be greatly missed by her four children, Deb Chaney, Jeffrey, Beth (Ted) Schindler and Christopher. Her grandchildren Jennifer (Patrick) Brooks, Casey and Molly Schindler and a great-granddaughter Alexis Brooks will also miss her.
Anita is survived by sisters, Dorothy Madden and Jeannie Kelleher, and by her brother, Jack Sullivan. She is also survived by sisters in law, Jane Karnes, Mary Lou Webber, and Mary Lou Junk, by her brother in law, Bob Webber, and by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Alice Powers, by her brothers in law, Bob Powers, Dick Madden, Bill Kelleher, Byron Smith, Bill Karnes, Don Jackson, Fred Junk and Ray Harden and by her sisters in law, Polly Sullivan, Ann Smith Harden and Ruth Jackson. The family extends their gratitude to Anita’s wonderful neighbors the Bradens and Youngbloods. We are also grateful to the Stein Hospice staff.
Calling hours on Monday, September 12, 2011 at Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, will be from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 A.M. in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street in Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. Frank Kehres will officiate. Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 13 in Mount Sterling, Ohio.

Warren E. Downing

Norwalk, Ohio - Warren E. Downing, 91, of Norwalk, Ohio, died Wednesday, September 28, 2011 in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio. He was born November 26, 1919 in Norwalk, Ohio to the late Ellsworth and Corrine (Kelly) Downing and was a lifelong area resident.
Warren was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in W.W. II. He received the Purple Heart Medal while serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. Warren participated in New Georgia, the Solomon Islands, and Guadalcanal. He was a member of Firelands Post #2743 Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans. Warren was a truck driver for Spector’s Trucking and West Baking Company of Norwalk, Ohio. He enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, cooking, canning, and bird watching.
Warren is survived by his wife of 45 years, Shelbia J. (Whitaker) Downing of Norwalk, Ohio and by his children, Warren E. (J.R.) and Constance Downing of Bellville, Ohio, Ronnie and Lana Downing of Bellville, Ohio, Gerald Downing of Norwalk, Ohio, DeAnna and Jim Stively of Norwalk, Ohio, Bonnie and Bobby King of Shiloh, Ohio, Ron and Pam Whitaker of Norwalk, Ohio, and Kimberly Adams of Plymouth, Ohio, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brothers, Elmer Harris of Iowa, Don Harris of Norwalk, Ohio and Harold Downing of Norwalk, Ohio and by his sisters, Martha Rice of Norwalk, Ohio and, Margaret Webb of Plymouth, Ohio and Betty Pasley of California. Warren was preceded in death by his sisters, Dorethea Hester, Marilyn Baxter, and brother Royal Downing.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 3, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. in Woodlawn cemetery, Norwalk, Ohio with military graveside services conducted by VFW Post #2743 and American Legion Post #41.

Brent Michael Marett

Norwalk, Ohio - Brent Michael Marett, 22, of Norwalk, Ohio died Saturday evening September 17, 2011 at his home. He was born March 21, 1989 in Norwalk, Ohio and was a lifelong area resident.
Brent was a 2008 graduate of Norwalk High School and worked with his father at Marett Unlimited and stepfather at Hardy's Masonry. While in high school Brent played and lettered in football and wrestling. He loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle and spend time with his friends. He was a very social and caring person.
Brent is survived by his mother and stepfather Margaret and Douglas Hardy of Norwalk, by his father, Rich Marett and Christine Jarrell of Norwalk, by his brother Bill Marett of Norwalk, his sisters Megan and Josh Cook of North Ridgeville, Ohio and Kadi Hardy of Norwalk. Brent is also survived by grandparents Joan Marett of Norwalk, Joyce Mowry - Monroeville, Nancy Mowry - Norwalk, Donald Mowry - New London, Ohio and Donald Hardy of Huron, Ohio. He also is survived by niece Abby Cook and nephews Austin Cook and Corbin Barber.
Friends may call on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Funeral services will take place in Walker Funeral Home on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Adrian Doll officiating. Interment will be in Wakeman Township cemetery, Wakeman, Ohio.
