Charlotte Fay Sanford (Myers)

Norwalk, Ohio - Charlotte Fay Sanford (Myers), 89, formerly of 16 West Elm Street Norwalk died on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Twilight Nursing Home from a sudden illness. Born June 17, 1922 in Milan Township, she was a lifelong resident of Norwalk, Ohio and was a loving Aunt and friend to many.
Mrs. Sanford was a housekeeper and cleaned many downtown businesses and doctor offices. She enjoyed flower gardening, music, birds, and spending time with friends and family. She is survived by her brother Ralph A Myers, Jr. and wife Doris Myers and their children, many nephews and nieces, cousins, friends, long-time neighbors and acquaintances.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Ralph A. Myers and Hattie Ellen Goetz Myers, brothers Robert Myers and Walter Myers and her sisters Esther Trotzier (Myers), Lillian Laws (Myers), Helen Turner (Myers), and Edna Ensign (Myers).
Friends may call on Saturday, September 17, 2011 from 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. with funeral services beginning at 12:00 Noon in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Burial will be in Milan cemetery.

Kathleen M. "Kathy" Miller

Norwalk, Ohio - Kathleen M. "Kathy" Miller, 53, of Norwalk, Ohio, died Wednesday, October 5, 2011 in her home. She was born July 20, 1958 in Norwalk, Ohio to the late Chester W. and Margaret R. (Schaffer) Wasiniak and was a lifelong area resident.
Kathy was a 1976 graduate of St. Paul High School and was a member of St. Alphonus Catholic Church and the Ladies of St. Alphonsus. Kathy was an active member of the St. Paul Boosters Club. She was a preschool teachers aide at the Norwalk Catholic Schools Early Childhood Center where she really enjoyed working with the children. Kathy enjoyed being a wife, mother, and grandmother, and enjoyed planning family vacations. Her most memorable and precious experience was her trip to Medugorje. She truly found peace and healing during this trip. Kathy will always be remembered by her family and friends for her courage and strength.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, John, whom she married October 7, 1978. Kathy is also survived by her son, Ian of Norwalk, Ohio, and by her daughters and son in law, Erika and George Tremp of Brunswick, Ohio and Kara Miller of Norwalk, Ohio, and by her grandson, Carter J. Tremp. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters in law, James and Cheryl Wasiniak of Norwalk, Ohio, David and Jill Wasiniak of Norwalk, Ohio and Michael and Diane Wasiniak of Norwalk, Ohio and by her sister in law, Marianne (Robert) Jasper of Toledo, Ohio, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
Friends may call on Sunday, October 9, 2011 from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio where Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet will be at 7:30 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 10, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. in St. Alphonus Catholic Church, Settlement Road, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. William Pifher will officiate. Interment will be in St. Alphonsus cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Youth Pilgrimage Fund or to Norwalk Catholic Schools, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio 44857.

Louis A. Diehl

Louis A. Diehl, 63, of Hudson, Ohio died October 2, 2011 of pancreatic cancer. He was born December 14, 1947 in Pomeroy, Ohio and was preceded in death by his parents Charles H. and Bettie Jean Diehl and brother Charles Diehl.
In 2009, after serving 37 years as a United Methodist minister, Lou retired from the East Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church. During his tenure as a minister, he served at churches in the Akron, Cleveland, and Norwalk areas. Lou earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Spring Arbor College in Michigan and a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky. More recently, Lou received his MA in Renaissance-Reformation and English history from the University of Akron. He was also active in the local Hudson community and a was a member of the Hudson Clocktower Rotary Club.
After retirement, Lou spent time enjoying his favorite activities, including travel, biking, cheering his favorite sports teams, and spending time with his children and grand child while also served as a part-time visitation minister at the Hudson Congregational Church.
He is survived by his wife Judy, sons Steven Diehl (John Bae) of New York, NY, David Diehl (Kate) of Wake Forest, NC, and daughter Amy Crader (Russ), and grandson Benjamin Crader of New York, NY.
Funeral services will be held at the Hudson Congregational Church at 47 Aurora Street in Hudson at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2011. Dr. Peter Wiley will officiate. A gathering will be held after the funeral at the same location. There will be no calling hours. Internment will be private at Markillie cemetery in Hudson, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the scholarship fund at the Hudson United Methodist Church or the memorial fund at the First Congregational Church of Hudson. Walker Funeral Home, Norwalk, Ohio is in charge of arrangements.

Linda Sue "Ma" Corrick

New London, Ohio - Linda Sue "Ma" Corrick, 58, of New London, Ohio, died Saturday, September 3, 2011 in her home. She was born November 6, 1952 in Ronceverte, West Virginia to the late Louie R. and Betty L. (Lemons) Honaker, of Alderson West Virginia and moved to the Akron, Ohio area when she was 18. She came to the Norwalk area in 2006.
She is a member of the Park United Methodist Church in Akron, Ohio and is a member and past Worthy Matron of Fernleaf Chapter #422 Order of Eastern Star, Akron, Ohio. Linda was a member of the Kenmore High School Band Boosters Club. She was the former owner of Sweetheart Catering of Akron, Ohio and Norwalk, Ohio and was a former cook at the Norwalk Salvation Army. One of Linda's passions in life was cooking, as well as, spending time with her grandchildren, road trips with her husband, Denver, and summer trips with her sisters. She also enjoyed camping and gardening.
Linda is survived by her husband of 26 years, Denver D. Corrick of New London, Ohio. She is also survived by her son and daughter in law, Mike and Sarah Richards and their children, Tyson and Gianna of Brimfield, Ohio and by her daughter and son in law, Betty L. and Clay Christopher and their children, Danni, Makayla, and C.J. Linda is also survived by her sisters and brothers in law, Freda and Ronald Sipe of North Canton, Ohio and Ginny and Sammy Walker of Alderson, West Virginia and by her nieces, Sheila, Melissa, Mary, Kasey, and Leighann.
Friends may call on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Friends may also call on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M. in the Park United Methodist Church, 2308 24th Street, Southwest, Akron, Ohio. Rev. Dr. Linda Somerville will officiate.

Nancy D. (Horton) Parrella

Norwalk, Ohio - Nancy D. (Horton) Parrella, 73, of Norwalk, Ohio died Monday, October 10, 2011 in Twilight Gardens Home. She was born June 12, 1938 in Brownesville, Pennsylvania to the late Robert A. and Virginia M. (Goodnight) Horton and came to this area in 1974 from Avon, Ohio.
Nancy was a registered nurse while she lived in Brownesville and worked with her late husband, Angelo, who was the former owner of Angies Body and Frame of Norwalk, Ohio.
She is survived by her sons, David M. Parrella, and Kenneth R. Parrella, both of Norwalk, Ohio and by her daughters, Kerri S. Risner of Norwalk, OhIo, Bonnie L. Parrella of Castalia, Ohio and Sandra D. Parrella of Norwalk, Ohio, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Friends may call on Saturday, October 15, 2011 from 2:00 P.M. until the time of service at 4:00 P.M. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. David Dietwiler will officiate.

Eldon P. Smith

Norwalk, Ohio - Eldon P. Smith, 73, of Norwalk, died early Monday morning, October 3, 2011 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born January 16, 1938 in Peru Twp., Ohio to the late Carl and Emma M.( Meyers) Smith and was a lifelong area resident. Eldon was a veteran of the US Army for two years serving in Korea and then joined the National Guard and eventually retired from there.
He attended St. Paul Catholic Church. He was a member of the Norwalk Post #2743 Veterans of Foreign Wars, and American Legion Post #41. He enjoyed small engine repair, going to flea markets and auctions.
He is survived by his children Larry Smith, of Norwalk, Ohio, John Smith, of Bellevue, Ohio, Jeff (Maggie) Smith, of Perrysburg, Ohio, and David (Rachel) Smith, of Huron, Ohio, Terri Cunningham and Karen Smith, both of Bellevue, Ohio, and Jillian (James) Patterson, of New Albany, Indiana, by 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Eldon is also survived by his brothers, Charles (Billie) Smith, of Norwalk, Ohio, Robert (Joanne) Smith, of Peru, Ohio, Kenneth Smith, of Peru, Ohio, Donald (Pat) Smith, of New Haven, Ohio, and Raymond (Trish) Smith, of Sandusky, Ohio, by his sisters Evelyn Stockmaster, of Havanna, Ohio, Rosemary Grine, of Collins, Ohio, Dorothy Pifher, of West Chester, Ohio and Irene (Dale) Braden, of Norwalk, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his brothers Adelbert, and James Smith, and by his sisters Ruth Myntti, and Eleanor Braden.
Friends may call on Thursday, October 6, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in Walker funeral Home, 98 West Main St. Norwalk, Ohio, where prayer services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Settlement Rd., Norwalk, Ohio. Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus cemetery.

Charles O. Bowers

Sandusky, Ohio - Charles O. Bowers, 87, of Sandusky, died Sunday evening, October 2, 2011 at Firelands Regional Medical Center. He was born June 23, 1924 in Richland County, Ohio to the late Hieple and Bertha (Wagner) Bowers and moved to this area in 1949 from Fredericktown, Ohio.
He was a veteran of W.W.II serving in the Navy. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Norwalk, Ohio. He was a truck driver for Norwalk Truck Line and Branch Motor Express. Charles was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Norwalk Post #2743. He enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by his son and daughter in law Larry L. and Carlene Bowers of Willard, Ohio, and by his daughter and son in law Linda and Dale Delamater, of Norwalk, Ohio, by 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty in 2006 and by his son Daniel L. Bowers in 2010. Friends may call on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main St. Norwalk, Ohio, where funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. James McClain pastor of Calvary Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodlawn cemetery.
