Linda Long 09/22/2004
Linda Long, age 56, of Chesterville Avenue, Cardington died Wednesday evening, September 22, 2004 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born March 27, 1948 in Paintsville, KY to Sebert and Polly (Patrick) Wells.
On May 11, 1968 in Mount Gilead, Linda married William (Bill) E. Long and he survives in Cardington.
A 1966 graduate of Cardington-Lincoln High School, Linda had worked at Morrow Lanes with her husband Bill for 21 years. In addition she had worked as a teller at Peoples Bank, Bank One and First Federal Savings and Loan, as a secretary at Hall, Elkin and Howland Law Firm and most recently as a purchasing clerk at the Morrow County Hospital.
In addition to her parents, Sebert and Polly, and husband Bill, Linda is survived by 2 sons and daughter-in-laws, Eric and Marcie Long of Cardington and Michael and Missy Long of Marysville, and 4 grandchildren, Cori and Cody Long of Marysville and Jacob and Elizabeth Long of Cardington.
Friends may call at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington on Friday, September 24, 2004 from 4-8PM. The funeral service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, September 25, 2004 at the funeral home with Reverend Jim Summers officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Union Cemetery.

Orrin Hildebrand 09/17/2004
Orrin Hildebrand, age 81, of Mt Gilead, died Friday morning September 17, 2004 at Woodside Village in Mt. Gilead. He was born May 23, 1923 in Gilead Twp., Morrow County to the late Paul D. and Susan L. (Hull) Hildebrand.
He was retired from the Morrow County Highway Department, and had also worked 18 years at HPM Manufacturing. Orrin had been an active member of the Gilead Friends Church since 1957. He loved gardening and working in his yard, his grandchildren, and camping, especially starting the campfire, were also his passions.
On July 20, 1946 in Harmony Twp he married the former Norma Wiseman at her home. She survives in Mt. Gilead.
Other survivors include two children and their spouses, Nancy Jo and Robert Smith of Cardington and Timothy and Barb Hildebrand of Mt. Gilead; four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Jeff, and Carrie; great-granddaughter, Caraline; and a twin brother, Warren G. Hildebrand of Mt. Gilead.
In addition to his parents, Orrin was preceded in death by a brother Herbert Hildebrand.
Friends may call on Sunday, September 19, 2004 from 2-5PM at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 20, 2004 at 10AM at the Gilead Friends Church, US RT 42, Mt. Gilead. Pastors Ron Ellyson, Brian Mosher and Charles Robinson will officiate, and burial will follow in Quakerdom Cemetery.
Viola I. Davis 09/17/2004
Viola I. Davis, age 93, of County Road 11, Cardington died Friday evening Sept. 17, 2004 in the Morrow County Hospital Extended Care Unit. She was born June 11, 1911 in Trivoli, Ill. to the late James I. and Alice R. ( Frank ) Frank.
Viola had been a member of the Cardington Homemakers and the Morrow County Farm Bureau.
On Oct. 26, 1929 in Peoria, Ill. Viola married Roland P. Davis. Roland died June 29, 1992 ending their 62 year marriage.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law ; Eugene and Nancee Davis, James T. Davis, and Robert and Marilyn Davis all of Cardington ; nine Grandchildren ; ten Great-Grandchildren and four Great-Great-Grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Viola was preceded in death by four brothers, five sisters, and a daughter-in-law Mary Davis.
Friends may call Tuesday Sept. 21, 2004 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington where the funeral service will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Pastor Donald Pletcher of the Saint John ( Windfall ) Lutheran Church will officiate. The burial will be in the Glendale Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Morrow County Hospital Extended Care Unit, 651 West Marion Road, Mount Gilead, Ohio 43338.
Mildred Hannan 09/12/2004
Mildred Hannan, age 95, formerly of West Main Street, Cardington, died Sunday afternoon, September 12, 2004 at Morrow County Hospital. She was born August 29, 1909 in Licking County, Ohio to the late Clyde E. and Emma (Clark) Hannan.
Mildred was a 1927 graduate of Fredericktown High School and attended the Cardington First United Methodist Church. Mildred had worked as a hair stylist during her lifetime, was a volunteer at Morrow County Hospital for over 20 years and also a member of the Cardington Garden Club.
Family and friends will celebrate Mildred's life with a remembrance gathering and fellowship at Cardington First United Methodist Church on Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at 1PM.
Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Nursing Department of the OSU Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.
Thelma J. Partlow 09/09/2004
Thelma J. Partlow, age 76, formerly of Cardington, died Thursday evening September 9, 2004 at Woodside Village Care Center in Mt. Gilead. She was born January 28, 1928 in Cardington to the late Harry L and Irene (Pusey) Carpenter.
Thelma worked at Tecumseh Products in Marion for 19 years and was a member of the Cardington Church of the Nazarene. She also was a member of the Eastern Stars in Chesterville, the American Legion Auxiliary Jenkins-Vaughan Unit # 97 and the Moose Lodge of Galion.
In Galion on August 7, 1946 she married Robert E. Partlow and he preceded her in death on October 14, 1999.
Survivors include 3 sons, Robert (June) Partlow, Jr. and Stanley Partlow (Jackie Litchfield) both of Cardington and Roger (Debbie) Partlow of Mansfield; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Vivian Owens and Iadell Beam of Cardington; 2 brothers, Lawrence Carpenter and Merrill M. Carpenter both of Cardington.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Edward M. Partlow and 2 sisters, Marietta Gantzhorn and Ruby Mason
Friends may call Monday, September 13, 2004 from 5-8PM at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington. An Eastern Star service will be observed at 8PM. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home Tuesday at 11AM with Pastor John Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery.
Madison Meade 09/01/2004
Madison Meade, infant daughter of Brad Meade of Kentucky and Brandy Williamson of Mount Gilead died Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at Children's Hospital in Columbus.
In addition to her parents, Madison is survived by sisters, Katelynn and Adrianna Willamson, paternal grandparents, Ella May and Charles Meade and maternal grandparents, Jerry and Sherry Williamson.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 3rd from 2-4 PM at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington. Burial will be in Pikeville, Kentucky
