Jack K. Teegardin

(1943 - 2005)

HAMILTON, Ind. - Jack K. Teegardin, 62, of Hamilton, died Friday, Aug. 5, 2005, at Millers Merry Manor.
Born May 4, 1943, in South Bend, he was the son of Hazel (Gilbert) and Kenneth Teegardin. An electrician for General Electric, he was a member of the Fort Wayne VFW Post 10006, the 40 & 8, the Churubusco American Legion Post 0157 and the Fort Wayne Eagles.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mark (Michele) Miller and Mrs. Randy (Denise) Davis, both of Columbia City; a sister, Mrs. Steve (Jackie) Friend of Hamilton; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home in Hamilton. Graveside services will be Monday at 12:30 p.m. at Teegardin Cemetery in Hamilton. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Vivienne "Vicki" R. (Radeff) Idzkowski
(1918 - 2005)

SMITH MOUNTAIN LAKE, Va. - Vivienne "Vicki" R. (Radeff) Idzkowski, 87, of Smith Mountain Lake, Va., died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005.
Born Jan. 13, 1918, in Toledo, she was the daughter of Sarah (Potter) and Valdimir Radeff. A Lake Seneca, Montpelier, Ohio, resident for 34 years, where she had served on the board and beautification committee, she was a volunteer for 20 years at CWU Thrift Shop in Bryan, Ohio. She was a member of First Church Christ Scientist, Boston, Mass.
Surviving are her daughters, Joey Lynne Lengel of Oregon, Ohio, Mrs. Richard (Jeannine) Howe of Smith Mountain Lake; grandchildren, Mrs. Andy (Andrea) Noonan, Eric (and wife, Holly) Howe, Tony Lengel and Jason (Kelly) Howe; great-granddaughters, Abigail and Kate Noonan.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Stanley A. Idzkowski; a brother, John Radeff; and sisters, Marge Hentges and Rosalind Navarro.
Services will be private and there will be no visitation.
Arrangements are by Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, Roanoke, Va.

Lucile "Lou" Ames

(1913 - 2005)

Lucile "Lou" Ames, 91, of Bryan, died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2005, at the Inn of Fountain Park, Bryan.
Born Sept. 22, 1913, at McClure, to Bodil (Olsen) and Carl Richard Nelson, she married Herbert K. Ames on May 19, 1934, at Cleves, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on April 14, 2005.
A member of the Bryan Area Cultural Association, Orchard Hills Country Club, First Presbyterian Church and the Williams County YMCA, she was an avid golfer, tennis and bridge player. She was the Orchard Hills Country Club Ladies Golf Champion for two years, a former tennis champion and a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow. She co-chaired the Auditorium Renovation Project and was co-designer of the City of Bryan flag.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Dr. Alan R. (Patricia K.) Brown of Overland Park, Kan. and Mrs. Dr. Larry O. (Holly) Hanna of Bryan; four grandchildren, Mrs. Karl (Cynthia K.) Seebacher of Centerville, Mrs. Steve (Cheryl K.) Thayer of Las Vegas, Nev., Mathew O. (and wife, Jennifer) Hanna and Douglas O. (Mandy) Hanna of Bryan; six great-grandchildren, Kevin, Tommy and Joshua Seebacher, Sydney Thayer, Owen and Ellie Hanna.
A private family graveside service will be observed with a memorial service Wednesday at noon in the First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Rob Marrow will officiate. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to the Williams County YMCA Endowment Fund through the Bryan Area Foundation, the Williams County YMCA or First Presbyterian Church.

Richard D. Garber

(1919 - 2005)

STRYKER - Richard D. Garber, 86, of Stryker, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005, at Medical College Hospital of Ohio in Toledo.
Born July 28, 1919, in Stryker, to Muriel (Migenery) and Clinton Garber, he married Joanna Jolly on March 20, 1946, in Stryker, and she survives.
Employed with the Campbell Soup Co., Napoleon, in the parts department for 23 years, he also worked with his father and brothers in the Garber Garage, Stryker, from 1937-1962.
He was a 1937 graduate of Stryker High School and was a Stryker/Springfield Twp. volunteer fireman and the village treasurer. He also served in the civilian service at Wright-Patterson Air Base. He was well known for his trumpet playing skills and played for many years with the Defiance Bud Widmer Band and the Bryan and Napoleon City Bands. He was a member of the Stryker United Methodist Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters, Mrs. Carlton (Becky) Schooley of Bowling Green, Judy Waldfogel of Miamisburg and Karen Gottstein of Germantown; a son, Jim (and wife, Cathy) Garber of Tampa, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jack Garber of Clearwater, Fla. and Gene Garber of West Unity.
Preceding him in death were his parents; an infant daughter, Mary Sue; brothers, Herbert and Charles; a sister, Mrs. Helen Bly; and a son-in-law, Jim Waldfogel.
Visitation will be held today from 7-9 p.m. in the Grisier Funeral Home, Stryker.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Melvin Peter to officiate. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Stryker.

Deanna "Dee" Jones

(1937 - 2005)

Deanna D. "Dee" Jones, 67, of Bryan, died Thursday morning, Aug. 4, 2005, at the Dilworth Center, Montpelier.
Born Dec. 29, 1937, at Edon, to Faith (Young) and Marion Burkhart, she married Maurice  Jones on March 21, 1956, in Edon, and he survives.
Before retiring, she was employed at First National Bank and Oberlin Mortgage Group in Bryan. A member of the First Church of Christ in Bryan, she was also a member of the Bryan Area Business Women, the CHWC-Auxiliary and the Red Hats.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Michael  Jones of Bryan; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Valerie) Fetters of Bryan and Amanda (and special friend, James Smith)  Jones of Tampa, Fla.; two grandchildren, Mrs. Andy (Chelsey) Garcia of Hillsdale, Mich. and Scottie Jo Fetters of Montpelier; and two brothers, Larry (and wife, Paula) Burkhart of Edon and Ken (Dee) Burkhart of Oregon.
Visitation will be held Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home-Bryan. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the First Church of Christ-Bryan with the Rev. Larry Snavely to officiate. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Association or the Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers Hospice Program.

James Bowen

FRUITLAND PARK, Fla. - James Bowen of Fruitland Park, Fla. died Sunday, July 31, 2005, following a brief illness.
Born in Inez, Ky., he had moved to Fruitland Park in 1986 from Bryan, Ohio.
He was active in real estate and was a retired teacher, farmer and independent businessman. A veteran of World War II, he was a 50-year Mason.
Survivors include sons, Jason Bowen of Altamonte Springs, Eric Bowen, abroad with the United States Army and Glen Bowen of Edgerton, Ohio; granddaughters, Sarah Grace Bowen and Jennifer Noelle Bowen; stepgrandchildren, Kasey, Adam and Heather Collins; and a sister, Lorraine Howard of Lexington, Ky.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Allen Bowen in 1977.
Arrangements were handled by Beyers Funeral Home, Leesburg, Fla.

William "Stan" Pepple Sr.

William "Stan" Pepple Sr., 82, of Bryan died Monday evening, August 15, 2005, at the James Cancer Hospital in Columbus. Mr. Pepple, his wife Loella and his family, owners of Stan Pepple Motors in Hicksville, moved to Bryan in 1970 when they purchased Lindsey Motor Sales. Mr. Pepple was active in many organizations including Hicksville Rotary Club, formerly, and currently the Bryan Rotary Club and was past president of the Bryan Chamber of Commerce. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy in World War II and was recalled to duty during the Korean War. Prior to owning the car dealerships, Mr. Pepple was a high school and economics teacher at Butler High School, Butler, Ind. Arrangements are pending at Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home in Bryan.

Golda M. Schelling

MILTON, W. Va. - Golda Marie Schelling, 84, of Milton, W. Va. and formerly of West Unity, died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005, at the Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W. Va. Among her survivors is her son, Ron Schelling of Milton.
Arrangements are pending at the Hollingshead-Beck Funeral Home in West Unity.
