Helen Entenman Gifford
(1926 - 2005)

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -Helen Entenman Gifford, 78, of Champaign, Ill. and formerly of Edgerton, Ohio and Columbus, Ohio, died Friday, Sept. 23, 2005, at her home.
Born Oct. 8, 1926, at Delta, Ohio, to Ailsa (Fuller) and Paul Entenman, she married Fred Gifford, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 1991.
A homemaker, she had graduated from Edgerton High School.
Surviving are a daughter, Carol Gifford Forman of Champaign; four grandchildren; six great-granddaughters; two sisters, Norma Johnston of Edgerton and Louise Weimer of Pleasant Lake, Ind.; and three brothers, Art Entenman, Frederick Entenman and Fay Entenman, all of Edgerton. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 8, at 11:30 a.m. in Linden Lutheran Church, 1230 Oakland Park Ave., Columbus. Private burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Broad Street, Columbus.
Memorials may be made to a local Hospice or cancer center or to a local library or school library.

Alice M. Moore
(1929 - 2005)

DEFIANCE - Alice M. Moore, 76, of Defiance, died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005, as the result of an automobile accident in Williams County.
Born June 30, 1929, at Fulton County, to Dorothy L. (Grime) and Elmer J. Weber, she married Alan R. Moore in 1948, and he preceded her in death in 2002.
A cashier at A & P Food in Defiance for seven years, she had also worked at Jim Kennedy Sales and Service for eight years. She had attended the Second Baptist Church, Defiance.
Surviving are a son, Douglas A. (and wife, Darcy) Moore of Defiance; a daughter-in-law, Denise Moore of Defiance; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Weber of Dayton and Ronald Weber of Bryan; and a sister, Mrs. Anna Belle Reagle of Ney.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Daniel R. Moore; and a sister, Ruby Parent.
Visitation will be held Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. in the Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home, Defiance and Saturday from 10-11 a.m. in the Second Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the church with the Rev. Max Begley to officiate. Burial will be in Evansport Cemetery, Defiance County.
Memorials may be made to Quadco Rehab and Good Samaritan School.

Doris M. Lehman
(1914 - 2005)

STRYKER - Doris M. Lehman, 90, of Stryker, died Monday, Sept. 26, 2005, at the Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers-Bryan.
Born near Stryker on Oct. 20, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Addie (Miller) and Frederick Werder. On July 29, 1945, she married Clair Lehman, and he preceded her in death in 2001.
Prior to her retirement, she had worked as a clerk in the former Central Market in Stryker for many years. She was a member of the Stryker United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two nieces and four nephews.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband and parents, were two sisters, Helen Musser and Alice Woodward; and three brothers, Ira, Milton and William Werder.
Visitation will be held today from 7-9 p.m. in the Grisier Funeral Home, Stryker.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Melvin Peter to officiate. Interment will follow in the Stryker Cemetery.

Lewis Emery Bly
(1924 - 2005)

Lewis Emery Bly, 81, of Bryan, and formerly of West Unity, died Tuesday morning, Sept. 27, 2005, at the Inn at Fountain Park-Bryan..
Born in West Unity on Jan. 28, 1924, he was the son of Mabel (Lyons) and Lloyd Bly. A Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving as a pilot in World War II, he was a graduate of West Unity High School and Tri-State University of Angola, Ind. with a degree in engineering.
He was employed by the Game Time Equipment in Litchfield, Mich., Addison Products of Jonesville, Mich., Bard Manufacturing in Bryan, and then became an insurance agent, owning and managing the Bly Insurance Agency in West Unity.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 669 in West Unity, the Lions Club of West Unity, the Loyal Order of Moose in Montpelier, the Superior Lodge No. 179 F & AM of West Unity, and the West Unity United Methodist Church, where he was a major contributor to the church bell tower.
Surviving are his wife, Marjean (Wolford) Beck Bly of Bryan; three daughters, Teresa  Taylor of Radford, Va., Mrs. David (Andrea) JoHantgen of West Unity and Amy Nafziger of West Unity; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Ronald (Kathleen) Van Etten of Petersburg, Mich., Mrs. Larry (Susan) Terrill of Krum, Texas, Mrs. Ronald (Denise) Dean of Archbold and Mrs. Brian (Barbara) Von Wert of Wauseon; two grandsons, Matthew JoHantgen of Montpelier and Mitchell  Taylor of Radford, Va.; three granddaughters, Mrs. Adam (Michelle) Siebenaler of Montpelier, Kiley Devlin of Hamilton, Ind. and Bethany  Taylor of Radford, Va.; three great-grandsons; two brothers, Kenneth (and wife, Olive) Bly of Florida and formerly of West Unity, and Van Bly of Kalamazoo, Mich.; eight stepgrandchildren; and 15 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his first wife, Lyla (Hartman) Bly on Dec. 13, 2000; and two brothers, Maurice and Donald Bly.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Hollingshead-Beck Funeral Home in West Unity. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the West Unity United Methodist Church with an hour of calling prior to the services. Officiating the services will be the Rev. Ruth Ann Scoby. Burial with military rites by the American Legion Post 669 of West Unity will be in the Floral Grove Cemetery in West Unity.
Memorials may be made to the West Unity United Methodist Church.

Carol J. Martin
(1934 - 2005)

CAMDEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Carol J. Martin, 71, of Camden Township, died Monday, Sept. 26, 2005, at the Hillsdale Community Health Center.
Born July 5, 1934, in Grover Hill, Ohio, to Mary (Stahl) and William Mason, she was married to Richard Martin on Nov. 5, 1949, and he survives.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Mrs. Javier (Pamela) Lazo of California; three sons, Richard (and wife, Debra) Martin of Reading, James (Kathy) Martin of Montpelier, Ohio and David (Vicki) Martin of Wapakoneta, Ohio; a sister, Mrs. Albert (Mary Alice) Monroe of Paulding, Ohio; a brother, Gary (Dee) Mason of Oakwood, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters; and a brother.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the George White Funeral Home in Reading.
Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor David Tran officiating. Interment will follow in Berg Cemetery in Montgomery.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.

William L. "Billy" Flynn II
(1986 - 2005)

DEFIANCE - William L. "Billy" Flynn II, 19, of Defiance, died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, as the result of an automobile accident in Hardin County.
Born March 11, 1986, at Bryan, he was the son of Brenda (Wygant) and William L. Flynn.
Surviving are his father and stepmother, William and Stephanie Flynn of Angola, Ind.; his mother and stepfather, Brenda and Anthony Scantlen of Defiance; two brothers, Jordan Follett and Mikeal Scantlen, both of Defiance; a stepbrother, Zachary Rickter of Edon; a sister, Shayla Flynn of Angola, Ind.; grandparents, Larry and Kathy Wygant of Montpelier; and stepgrandparents, Donald and LaDonna Scantlen of Defiance and Ed and Pat Davenport of Edon.
He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Geannie Richards.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home, Defiance.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Michael Kelly to officiate. Burial will be in Evansport Cemetery, Defiance County.
Memorials may be made to the family.

Joseph Magda
(1912 - 2005)

MONTPELIER - Joseph Magda, 93, of Montpelier, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005. Born April 7, 1912, at Olean, N.Y., he and his late wife, Genevieve, were the original land owners of the land where the Montpelier Industrial Park is now located.
Surviving are children, Camille Saunders (Robert Longuski), Marlene Magda (John Jurkiewicz) and James Magda; grandchildren, Jeffrey (and wife, Mitzi) and Darrick (Mary Beth); great-grandchildren, Andrew, Adam, Austin, Jereme and Hannah.
Arrangements were handled by the L.J. Griffin Funeral Home, Canton, Mich.

Mikolaj Wlasiuk Sr.

ARCHBOLD - Mikolaj Wlasiuk Sr., 80, of Archbold, died Sunday evening, Oct. 2, 2005, in his home.
Among his survivors is his wife, Lydia.
Arrangements are pending at Short Funeral Home in Archbold.
