Charles W. Flickinger
(1938- 2005)
PERRYSBURG - Charles W. Flickinger, 67, of Perrysburg, died Monday, Oct. 10, 2005, at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born June 30, 1938, to Alma L. (Fields) and Cleon R. Flickinger, he married Janet M. Williams in June of 1957, at Bellevue, and she survives.
A graduate of the University of Toledo, he worked for the AT&T Phone Company for over 30 years, retiring as district manager in 1990.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Perrysburg and the IOOB Breakfast Group. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters, Mrs. Asif (Christine) Mahboob of Whitehouse, Karen S. Rogers of Greenwood, Ind. and Mrs. Al (Brenda K.) Koch of Succasunna, N.J.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Services were held Oct. 14, in Grace United Methodist Church, Perrysburg with burial at Fort Meigs Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church.
Robert W. Choate
(1922 Ñ 2005)
Robert W. Choate, 82, of Bryan, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2005, at the Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers-Bryan.
Born Dec. 16, 1922, in Jackson, Mich., to Bessie M. (Hawley) and Floyd D. Choate, he married Marjorie V. Gilbert on June 1, 1947, in Cement City, Mich., and she preceded him in death in September 1999.
A 1941 graduate of Hanover High School in Michigan, he was a World War II Army veteran serving with the 143rd Anti-Aircraft Battalion.
In 1985 he retired from Robinair Manufacturing in Montpelier as plant superintendent after 39 years with S.P.X. Corporation. From 1988 to 1996, Bob worked at the Chief Supermarket in Bryan.
A member of the Universalist Unitarian Church of East Liberty, Mich., he was also a member of Masonic Blue Lodge No. 209, where he was a past master, and the Williams County Playhouse in Montpelier.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Joyce) Betz of Springport, Mich. and Mrs. Tom (Kathleen) Moon of Bellevue, Mich.; two sons, Edwin L. Choate of Montpelier and Barry (and wife, Sandi) Choate of Van Wert; three grandchildren, MIchelle Sautter, Jennifer Summer and Shonda Betz; a brother, Larry Choate of Jacksonville, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jack; a sister, Delores Fish; and two half brothers.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the Thompson Funeral Home, Montpelier.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the church.
William Muir
(1940 - 2005)
WHITEHOUSE - William Muir, 65, of Whitehouse, died suddenly Sunday afternoon, Oct. 30, 2005, after suffering an apparent massive heart attack in his home. Born Aug. 30, 1940, in Wauseon, to Emaline (Turi) and Walker Muir, he married Rebecca Butler on Aug. 20, 1961, and she survives.
He was a resident of the Swanton area for 22 years before moving to Whitehouse three years ago. Employed at Burkholder Drywall of Archbold for several years, he had previously worked at Olan Andrews Drywall.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Timothy Muir of Delta; a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Tammey) Cervantes of Delta; two grandchildren; his mother, Emaline Muir of Corydon, Ind.; a brother, James (and wife, Sue) Muir of Swanton; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Pat) Krasula of Swanton and Mrs. Larry (Barb) Kissel of Corydon, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-7 p.m. in the Short Funeral Home in Archbold.
Services will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Reid Short to officiate.
Mary E. Lautermilch
(1944 - 2005)
Mary E. Lautermilch, 61, of Bryan, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005, at Community Hospital and Wellness Centers-Bryan.
Born April 21, 1944, at Detroit, Mich., to Mable (Batterson) and Cy Fireovid, she married Junior Lautermilch on Dec. 16, 1966, in Pulaski, and he survives.
The office manager at Orchard Hills Country Club, Bryan, she was a member of the Pulaski United Methodist Church and the Montpelier Moose.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, David Lautermilch of Bryan; three daughters, June Pearly, Sue Lautermilch and Laura Otstott, all of Bryan; a half brother, Roger Chappuies of Bryan; and five grandchildren.
Her parents and a sister, Janet Gregory, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Deborah Kaylor to officiate. Burial will follow in Shiffler Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Pulaski United Methodist Church.
Frank "El Piloto" Sanchez
LAREDO, Texas - Frank "El Piloto" Sanchez died Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, at a local hospital.
Born in Dolores, Texas, he had been a resident of Laredo most of his life.
Surviving are his children, Frank A. Sanchez Jr., David A. (and wife, Charlene) Sanchez, Mrs. Lyle (Barbara M.) Carry, Mrs. Daniel (Diana E.) Dennis, Mrs. Powell (Teresa) Towne and Mrs. Emilio (Frances) Escalante; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Virginia Viera, Silverio Sanchez Jr., Arturo (Maria Elena) Sanchez and Roberto (Gloria Alicia) Sanchez; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Silverio and Teofila Sanchez; a brother, Alfredo Sanchez; and a sister, Guadalupe Tapat.
There will be no services and interment will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the directions of the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St., Laredo.
Jason C. Forward
(1976 - 2005)
ARCHBOLD - Jason C. Forward, 29, of Michigan Center, Mich. and formerly of Archbold, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005, in Leslie, Mich. as the result of injuries sustained from an automobile accident.
Born June 7, 1976, in Adrian, Mich., he was the son of Diana (Black) and Chuck Forward of Archbold. A Key Account Manager for Nutro Pet Foods, he was a graduate of Archbold High School. During high school, he was a three-year letter winner in baseball and a four-year varsity starter in both football and wrestling. He was a two-year All League Selection and led the NWOAL in scoring during his senior season. He was a three time state qualifier in wrestling and placed second in the State OHSAA Wrestling tournament. In 1995, he was selected as the Outstanding Wrestler in the Ohio State Dual Tournament.
A member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Archbold, he graduated from Ohio University in 2000.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a twin brother, Jeff (and wife, Kristen) Forward of Archbold; a brother, Clark Forward of Ann Arbor, Mich.; grandmothers, Judy Forward of Michigan Center, Mich. and Irene Black of San Diego, Calif.; and a special friend, Kelly Bryan of Leslie, Mich. Preceding him in death were his grandfathers, John Forward and Richard Black.
A Memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. Peter's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Gary Ferguson to officiate. There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be made to the Archbold High School Wrestling Club.
