Donald L. Grime
(1929 - 2007)

ARCHBOLD - Donald L. Grime, 78, of Archbold, died Monday morning, Sept. 10, 2007, at his residence.
Born Feb. 6, 1929, near Archbold, to Hulda (Miller) and Lester Grime, he married Mary Stites on Aug. 9, 1947, and she survives.
An Archbold resident all of his life, he owned and operated D & W Collision Service.
He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Archbold, a 4th degree in the Knights of Columbus, a lifetime member of the Fathers of Sons of Veterans of Foreign Wars and former member for many years of the Elks, Eagles and Moose lodges.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Barbara Grime-Parker and Patricia Grime-Coulon; three sons, Frank (and wife, Cheryl) Grime, Andy (Lois) Grime, both of Archbold, and Tony (Deb) Grime of Camden, Mich.; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Saul of Bryan; and two brothers, Kenny (Martha) Grime of West Unity and Wayne (Nancy) Grime of Archbold.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter; a grandson; two sisters, Evelyn Grime and Doris Stamm-Wyse; and two brothers, Harold Grime and Leo Grime.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-9 p.m. in the Short Funeral Home, Archbold, with Rosary services at 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter's Catholic Church, Archbold, with Father Gary Ferguson to officiate. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

Ethelyn P. Dachsteiner
(1909 - 2007)

HOUSTON, Texas - Ethelyn P. Dachsteiner, 98, a former long-time resident of Bryan, Ohio, and Orange City and Hollywood, Fla., and a current resident of Houston, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at her daughter's residence, where she had resided the past three years.
Born Aug. 21, 1909, at Bryan, to Iva (Davis) and Roy Miller, she married Henry F. Dachsteiner on Nov. 11, 1934, and he preceded her in death on April 2, 1973.
A 1927 graduate of Bryan High School, she was a homemaker and a member of First Lutheran Church, Bryan.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary (and husband, Chuck) Gable of Sneads Ferry, N.C., and Ellen Essenpreis of Houston; two granddaughters, Beth (Jathan) Miller of Deland, Fla., and Jan (Dan) Roush of Jacksonville, N.C.; five great-grandchildren; a niece, Shirley (Marion) Gilbert of Bryan; and a cousin, Jean Wetmore of Bryan.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Clark Miller. Funeral services and visitation will be private for the family. Interment will be at Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, Bryan.
Burr Funeral Home & Crematory, Bryan, is in charge of arrangements.

Merilyn R. Balogh
(1926 - 2007)

EDGERTON - Merilyn R. Balogh, 81, of Edgerton, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at Park View Nursing Center in Edgerton, where she was a resident.
Born Aug. 20, 1926, near Edgerton, to Evelyn (Edwards) and Raymer Miller, she married Paul Balogh on Nov. 16, 1946, at Edgerton, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 2004.
A homemaker, she had also been a cook for many years at St. Mary's School.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton, Catholic Ladies of Columbia, Rosary Altar Society, Jolly Neighbors and John D. Smith Post No. 10 American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving are four sons, David (and wife, Deb) Balogh and Donald (Kathy) Balogh, both of Edgerton, Joseph (Diane) Balogh of Mansfield and John (Jill) Balogh of Raleigh, N.C.; four daughters, Paula Balogh, Cynthia (and husband, Ron) Leppelmeier and Kathe (Rick) Stotz, all of Edgerton, and Karen (Keith) Muehlfeld of Napoleon; 21 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Madilyn (Richard) Fritch of Edgerton and Leone Neidhardt of Hicksville.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Wendell and Kenneth Miller. Visitation will be Tuesday after 2 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home Edgerton, with a scripture service to be conducted at 8 p.m.
Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Stephen Schroeder to officiate. Interment will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary School.

Yevonna L. Funnell
(1924 - 2007)

CAMDEN, Mich. - Yevonna L. Funnell, 83, of Camden and formerly of West Unity, Ohio, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, at Judy's Country Care in Camden.
Born Jan. 13, 1924, in Williams County, Ohio, to Letha (Wasnich) and Earl Detwiler, she married Douglas D. Funnell and he preceded her in death on March 15, 2003.
A graduate of West Unity High School, she was a bookkeeper for the Farm Bureau in West Unity and then a homemaker. She was a member of the Farm Bureau council, the Brady Grange in West Unity and a Christian.
Surviving are three sons, William "Bill"(and wife, Shelia) Funnell of West Unity, Donald "Don" (Virginia) Funnell of Greensburg, Pa. and Robert "Bob" Funnell of Bryan; two granddaughters, Deborah "Deb" Funnell of Montpelier and Mrs. Robert "Matt" (Sarah) Leone of Tucson, Ariz.; three grandsons, Tad (Glenda) Funnell of Stryker, Chad Funnell of Ocean City, Md. and Eric (Jennifer) Funnell of Greensburg, Pa.; and two great-grandsons, Tyler and Calvin Funnell of Greensburg, Pa.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband, were her parents; a grandson, David Funnell; four brothers, Dwight "Todd" Detwiler, Keith Detwiler, Les "Bud" Detwiler, and an infant.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Hollingshead-Beck Funeral Home, West Unity. Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Nick Woodall to officiate. Burial will be in Floral Grove Cemetery, West Unity.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

James Paul Luke
(1932 - 2007)

James Paul Luke, 75, of Bryan, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at Fountain Park Inn. Born June 12, 1932, at Bryan, to Wilma V. (Chappieus) and Harry L. Luke, he married Phyllis Laurene Wisman on Dec. 19, 1953, at Bryan, and she survives.
A machinist at The Aro Corporation, Bryan, from 1962-1994, he also served with the U.S. Marines in Korea, where he was awarded the Purple Heart.
His memberships included St. Patrick Catholic Church, K of C Council No. 1915, DAV, Bryan VFW and Bryan American Legion. He was an avid bowler who also coached Little League and Pony League baseball.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Deanna (and husband, James) Tucker and Stephanie (Robert) Corron, both of Bryan; a son, James (and wife, Caroline) Luke II of Temecula, Calif.; and six grandchildren, Julie Tucker of Granville, Jospeh Tucker, Stephen and Robyn Corron, all of Bryan, and Joshua and Breana Luke, both of Temecula, Calif.
He was preceded in death by two children, Sandy and Timmy; his parents; four brothers, Virgil, Robert, Walter and Darrell Luke; and two sisters, Gladys Yoder and Lizzie Landel.
Visitation will be Sunday from 4-8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with a scripture service to be held at 8 p.m.
Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bryan, with Father Charles Ritter to officiate. Interment will be in Brown Cemetery on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with graveside military rites conducted by Bryan V.F.W. Post No. 2489.
Memorials may be made to St. Patrick School.

Orville 'Si' Manley

MONTPELIER - Orville "Si" Manley, 87, of Montpelier, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home, Montpelier.
Born Aug. 19, 1920, at Montpelier, to Ottie Virgil (Altaffer) and Orville Manley, he married Margaret M. Ehrmin on Dec. 19, 1942, at Montpelier, and she survives.
A 1940 graduate of Montpelier High School, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Employed for 30 years as a carpenter building show displays at the Aro Corporation in Bryan, retiring in 1982, he had also previously worked for his brother, Theo "Pepsi" Manley, in the Manley Dairy in Montpelier.
A member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, he was a former member of the Fountain City Squares.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Paul (and wife, Dona) Manley of Huntersville, N.C.; three grandchildren, Ian, Brian and Christopher; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mark A. in 1984; and two brothers, Theo in September 1993 and Clayton "Milo" in September 2005.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Thompson Funeral Home, Montpelier.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Bruce A. Tumblin to officiate. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Montpelier.
Memorials may be made to the church or Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers-Hospice.
