Hugh F. Dull
Died: Sunday, November 23, 2003
Age: 86

CELINA — Hugh F. Dull, 86, of Celina died at 12:22 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born Feb. 9, 1917, in Liberty Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late Herbert Oscar and Mary Luticia (Bolenbaugh) Dull. On Aug. 3, 1940, he married Opal Shaffer, who survives at the residence.

Other survivors include his children, Deanna (Larry) Riesen of Fort Wayne, Ind., Monte J. (Rebecca) Dull of Roanoke, Ind., Judy (Michael) Mersman, Thomas (Peggy) Dull, Teressa (George) Kerns and Gena Lewis, all of Celina, and Sonya (Mark) Davis of Fort Myers, Fla.; one sister, Joan (Don) Knerr of Payne; seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Forest Hubert Dull, Wilson J. Dull and Robert Lloyd Dull, and four sisters, Mary B. McNeal, Martha Elizabeth Ricketts, Mildred May Mayers and Agnes Moring.

Mr. Dull worked in the engineering department at New Idea-Avco, Coldwater, for 30 years. A 1934 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty High School, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Europe. He attended St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Celina.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Kathleen Hayes of St. Paul’s UMC officiating. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City.

Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial is State of Heart Hospice.

Harold J. Budde
Died: Saturday, November 22, 2003
Age: 79

CELINA — Harold J. Budde, 79, of Celina died at 4:32 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, the Rev. Richard R. Riedel officiating. Burial will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Celina.

Calling hours are 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina.

Ruth L. McCaslin
Died: Saturday, November 22, 2003
Age: 76

LIMA — Ruth L. McCaslin, 76, of Lima died at 7:50 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at Otterbein - Cridersville.

She was born May 2, 1927, in Lima, the daughter of the late Frank and Marjorie (Blank) Crissinger. On Oct. 13, 1946, she married Loyal D. McCaslin, who survives in Lima.

Other survivors include:

Son - Ken (LeeAnn) McCaslin of Cridersville

Daughter — Jan (Roger) Kimmet of Van Wert

Brother — Frankie (Gloria) Crissinger of Sacramento, Calif.

Eight grandchildren, Dennis McCaslin, Christina Byer, Bryan Kimmet, Nichole Hale, Kristy Rager, Nathan Kimmet, Sarah McCasliln and Steven McCaslin, and six great-grandchildren, Chadd Byer, Kalene Byer, Cassandra Hale, Dustin Hale, Elizabeth Rager and Carlton Rager, also survive.

She was preceded in death by one son and a daughter-in-law, Jeff and Judy McCaslin.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville, the Rev. John Heyward officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta.

Visitation was Sunday.

Phil Jr. Buschor
Died: Friday, November 21, 2003
Age: 65

CELINA — Phil Jr. Buschor, 65, of Celina died at 9:05 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 26, 1938, in Ohio City, the son of the late Phil J. Buschor and Margaret Evelyn “Peg” Wright. On Nov. 28, 1959, he married E. Ann Feister, who survives in Celina.

Other survivors include:

Sons — Jeff (Cindy) Buschor of Celina and Mark (Margaret) Buschor of Solon

Five grandchildren, Jacqui, Kellie and Leighann Buschor, all of Celina, and Tara and Bianca Buschor, both of Solon, also survive.

Mr. Buschor worked at Ford Motor Co., Lima, for 35 years. He was supervisor of small parts.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Douglas Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.

Calling hours are 3-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Genevieve Foltz
Died: Friday, November 21, 2003
Age: 87

Genevieve Foltz, 87, of Van Wert died at 5:10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at Vancrest Health Care Center, Van Wert.

She was born Nov. 19, 1916, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late John and Jenny (McQuewn) Borden. On July 28, 1946, in Van Wert, she married Howard W. Foltz, who preceded her in death on June 8, 1998.

Survivors include her children, Howard B. (Karen) Foltz of Lima and David J. (Janeen) Foltz of Greenville, and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas I. Borden.

Mrs. Foltz retired in 1978 after 41 years as a school teacher, teaching social studies, drama and home economics. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Van Wert and a graduate of Bluffton College. She was very active in the Van Wert County Historical Society and Van Wert Civic Theatre, a member of Twigs, Van Wert Men’s Garden Club, Ohio Retired Teachers Association and Van Wert County Cancer Society, had been an active volunteer for Brumback Library, Van Wert County Board of Elections and the Hospital Thrift Shop as well as a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Rev. Dillon Staas officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.

Calling hours are 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are Van Wert Civic Theatre or the church.

Helen L. Brown
Died: Thursday, November 20, 2003
Age: 83

MIDLAND, Mich. — Helen L. (Maxson) Brown, 83, of Midland, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at her home.

She was born Nov. 15, 1920, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Bertha Alice (Jones) Maxson.

Helen had attended and graduated from Van Wert High School and moved to Midland in 1958. She was a loving wife, wonderful mother and a good friend to many. Helen took great pride in keeping a neat and tidy house and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband, Philip Dewitt Brown whom she married on July 28, 1940, in Van Wert. She is also survived by sons, Thomas G. (Cindy) Brown of Huntsville, and their sons, Philip, William and Theodore; and Timothy L. (Anne) Brown of The Dells, Ore. and their sons, Joshua and Nathan. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Anna Boudreaux of Salen, S.C.

As per Helen’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Trinity Lutheran Church or MidMichigan Hospice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Directors.
