David L Bingman 01/20/2005

David W Bingman, age 66, of County Road 40 Galion, died at his residence. He was born on January 28,1938 to the late Leo and Leona (Conaway) Bingman.

David served in the United States Navy, was a member of VFW Post 8054 and AmVets Post 87 in Mt. Gilead. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 97 in Cardington and the Moose Lodge 303 in Galion. David volunteered at Malabar Farms in Mansfield and was involved with the Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association.

He is survived by 3 brothers Dean, Donald and Daniel Bingman all of Cardington; 4 sisters Elizabeth and Tom Botts of Tulsa, OK, Dorothy Denton of Mt. Vernon, Frances Jo and Jim Pegelow of Mesa, AZ and Ruth Bingman of Columbus; and his Fiancé Janet Collins of Galion.

In addition to his parents David was preceded in death by 1 brother Dale Bingman.

Friends may call on Tuesday January 25, 2005 from 6-8PM at Gompf Funeral Home
in Cardington where services will be held on Wednesday at 11AM with Pastor Joe Stafford of Wesley Chapel officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Union Cemetery with full military honors.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Malabar Farms or the Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association in care of Gompf Funeral Service 440 South Center Street Cardington, 43315.

Wanda M. Elliott 01/19/2005

Wanda M. Elliott, age 66, of County Road 155, Cardington, died Wednesday, January 19, 2005, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born February 15, 1938 to the late Frederick and Edna (Kenyon) Jones.

Wanda had worked at Encore as a press operator for more than 30 years.

On February 20, 1956 in Elkin, Maryland she married Ralph Elliott and he survives in Cardington.

Survivors also include her son and his wife Paul and Beth Elliott of Haslet, TX; 2 granddaughters, Lauren and Lindsay Elliott of Haslet, TX; a brother, Dwayne  Jones of Marion and a step-sister Veldren Immel of Lancaster.

In addition to her parents Wanda was preceded in death a sister, Opal Koons.

Friends may call Friday, January 21, 2005 at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington from 4-7 PM where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2005 at 2PM. Burial will be in Glendale Union Cemetery.

Dorothy Fisher 01/18/2005

Dorothy Fisher, 89 years young and a lifelong residence of Cardington, quietly went to rest on January 18, 2005, after a long, full life.

Dorothy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cardington. She was also an active member of her garden club and volunteered for many years with the Violet Twig. She was a member of the Genealogical Society of Morrow County and regularly corresponded with people nationwide in furtherance of this interest. She loved to read and served on the book selection committee of the Cardington Public Library for a number of years. She was a member of Eastern Stars and of the Reveille Club. Dorothy was a skilled bridge player who was always up for a challenging match. But she was probably known best for love of music and her ample skill as an organist and pianist. It was with great satisfaction that she continued to play at the Cardington Alumni Banquet each spring and to sit in when local musicians came together to play. Her music will be her legacy to everyone that knew and loved her.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Merle Fisher, whom she married on June 28, 1935, her daughter, Jeanne Anne Fisher, her brother, Robert Neal, her sister, Helen Neal and her parents, Dr. Carl and Elizabeth (Lloyd) Neal.

Dorothy will be sadly missed by her children, Thomas Fisher and Debbie Rohrbach of Loudonville, David and Suzanne Fisher of Clintonville, James and Joy Fisher of Cardington and Rose Mary and Jim Clinger of Cardington, her sister-in-law, Grace Neal of Mount Gilead and her dog, Chloe. Dorothy was also the beloved grandmother of ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington on Friday, January 21, 2005 from 2-8PM where the funeral service will be held Saturday, January 22, 2005 at 11AM. Pastor John  Jackson will officiate and burial will follow in Glendale Union Cemetery.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Cardington Emergency Squad and the Cardington Fire Department in care of the funeral home, 440 South Center Street, Cardington, Ohio 43315.

Tammi Skeens 01/17/2005

Tammi Skeens, age 41, of Shawsville, VA, formerly of Cardington, OH died at her residence January 17th. She was born June 7, 1963 in Galion to the late Ronald 'Runt' Lanum and Flora J. (Rush) Rose who survives in Bay City, TX.

Tammi was a graduate of Cardington-Lincoln High School and was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband Keith Skeens, of Shawsville, VA; a daughter, Laticia  Johnson of Shawsville, VA, a daughter, Ashley Skeens and son, Brandon Skeens both at home; 7 siblings, Debra Tackett of Lewis Center, Sheila and Jackie Skeens and Kimberly Couch of Roanoke, VA, Angela Garcia, Lisa Sparks and Crystal Shay all of Bay City, TX, and Ronald Lanum, Jr. of Lakeworth, FL and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, Tammi was preceded in death by a daughter, Heather Skeens.

Friends may call at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington on Friday, January 21, 2005 from 10-11AM. The funeral service will follow at 11AM with Pastor Jay Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Union Cemetery.

Edith M. Kincaid 01/14/2005

Edith M. Kincaid, age 69, of Township Road 245, Cardington, died Friday evening January 14, 2005 in the Marion General Hospital Intensive Care Unit. She was born on December 20, 1935 in Marion County to the late Dale and Cleo (Potts) Kelly.

On April 10, 1951 in Greenup, KY she married Clifford E. Kincaid and he survives her.

In addition to her husband Edith is survived by two sons and their wives, Clifford and Lea Kincaid of Cardington and Robert and Ruth Kincaid of California, 1 daughter Anna Snyder of Cardington; 2 sisters Betty Bushottz and Diane Kelly both of Marion; 3 brothers Charles Kelly and Kenneth Kelly of Marion and Ed Kelly of Richwood; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington on Monday January 17,2005 from 4-7PM where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1PM with Pastor Anthony Trapani of Gilead Pentecostal Church officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Union Cemetery.

Norman Irons 01/12/2005

Norman Irons, age 76, of State Route 529, Cardington, died Wednesday evening January 12, 2005 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born June 4, 1928 in Cardington to the late George and Nola (Mathews) Irons.

Norman was a 1946 graduate of Cardington High School and a member of Cardington First United Methodist Church where he had been Chairman of the Administrative Council and had been an active member of the Men's Group where he served as the Secretary-Treasurer for many years. He retired after 44 years from HPM Manufacturing in Mt. Gilead where he had been the Supervisor of Engineering.

On November 28, 1953 in Mt. Gilead he married the former Loretta Foster and she survives in Cardington.

He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Paul (Zella) Graf of Crestline.

In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his step-father, William H. Bean, 3 brothers, Richard, Gerald, and Paul Irons and 2 sisters, Evelyn Slack and Wanda Meadows.

Friends may call at Gompf Funeral Home on Friday, January 14, 2005 from 5-8PM where funeral services will be held Saturday, January 15, 2005 at 11AM. Pastor John  Jackson officiating and burial will follow in Glendale Union Cemetery in Cardington.
