Louise Fair

DELPHOS — Louise Fair, 79, of Delphos died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 27, 1924, in Bluffton, Ind., the daughter of the late Howard and Lavina (Baber) Hoover. On Sept. 25, 1943, she married Ivan "Tucker" Fair, who survives in Delphos.
Mrs. Fair worked at Meyers Cleaners and retired from Van Dyne Crotty.

Sister — Katie (Robert) White of Middle Point
Brother — Mel (Val) Hoover of Marietta
Three grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ben, Howard and Milton Hoover.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel, Delphos, the Rev. Wayne Prater officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Judy Marie Homan

Age: 45
CELINA — Judy Marie (Kincaid) Homan, 45, of Celina died at 10:54 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6, 2003, at Joint Township Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Church, Celina, the Rev. Tom Brenberger officiating. Burial will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Celina.
Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Thursday at W.H. Dick & Sons Funeral Home, Celina.
Mabel E. Miller
Died: Monday, October 06, 2003
Age: 82
WILLSHIRE — Mabel E. Miller, 82, of Willshire died at 3:36 p.m. ( Ohio time) Monday, Oct. 6, 2003, at Lima Memorial Hospital, Lima, following a brief illness.
She was born March 18, 1921, in Adams County, Ind., the daughter of the late Chauncey O. Manley and Mary Mae Julian. On Oct. 14, 1939, she married Harold J. Miller, who preceded her in death on March 24, 1969.
Mrs. Miller retired in 1982 from General Electric with 22 years of service.

Daughters — Sharon (Jerry) Agler of Lewisborg, Tenn., Rose (James) Pierstorff of Rockford and Mary C. (Archie) Hill of Huntertown, Ind.
Sisters — Edna Manley of Berne, Ind., Mildred Wolf of Pleasant Mills, Ind., Velma (Jim) Penrod of Bluffton, Ind., Lois Kaufman of Leipsic and Marcile (Leonard) King of Decatur, Ind.
Brothers — Glen Manley and Kenneth Manley, both of Decatur, and Lester Manley of Monroe, Ind.
Fifteen grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Violet Roe, Jean Cook and Esther Cook, a brother, Richard "Sonny" Manley, and a great-granddaughter, Bailey Dircksen.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. (Indiana time) Friday at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, the Rev. William Simms officiating. Burial will be in Willshire Cemetery, Willshire.
Calling hours are 1-8 p.m. (Indiana time) Thursday at the funeral home.
Esther B. Lause
Died: Monday, October 06, 2003
Age: 85
DELPHOS — Esther B. Lause, 85, of Delphos died Monday afternoon, Oct. 6, 2003, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 11, 1917, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Lewis G. and Mary B. (Vogt) Lause. On Jan. 2, 1937, she married Ralph C. Lause, who preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 1986.
Mrs. Lause was a homemaker.

Sons — James (Darlene) Lause of Ottoville, Lewis (Susan) Lause of Marion and Alan (Debbora) Lause of Belmont, Calif.
Sister — Isabell Cattell of Canton
Eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by a stepfather, William Henry Vogt, and two brothers, Eugene E. and W. Lewis Vogt.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church, Delphos, the Rev. Harry Tolhurst officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Delphos.

Doris M. Harmon
Died: Monday, October 06, 2003
Age: 91
GLENMORE — Doris M. Harmon, 91, formerly of Glenmore, currently a resident of Colonial Nursing Home, Rockford, died at 8:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert.
She was born Aug. 19, 1912, in Liberty Township, Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Enos Nelson and Nettie Mae (Overholt) Prichard. On Feb. 15, 1935, she married Bertis William "Bert" Harmon, who preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 1976.
Mrs. Harmon was a homemaker and a member of Wren United Brethren in Christ Church.
Survivors include two sons, Larry D. (Jean) Harmon of Wren and Terry L. (Brenda) Harmon of Convoy; two daughters, Sue (Gene) Barna of Rockford and Janet Harmon of Van Wert; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Lynn Harmon, four brothers, Hugh Bynon Prichard, Ada Doyt Prichard, Charles Ray Prichard and Alta Ralph Prichard, and six sisters, Cora Bell Ralston, Mildred Roberts, Mary Thatcher, Ethel Phillipy, Vera Prichard and Lucy Evelyn Clouse.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Rev. Lee Cook officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City.
Calling hours are 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are Colonial Nursing Home or Rockford EMS.
Maurice E. Dowler
Died: Monday, October 06, 2003
Age: 71
Maurice E. "Red" Dowler, 71, of rural Van Wert died at 4:55 p.m. (Indiana time) Monday, Oct. 6, 2003, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born Oct. 29, 1931, in Tully Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late Stephen and Freda (Kreischer) Dowler. On June 17, 1951, he married Virginia L. Wortman, who survives.
Mr. Dowler retired as a farmer in Union Township after 40 years and had been employed at the Van Wert County Engineer’s Office. A 1949 graduate of Union High School, he was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Van Wert where he had served on the church council and as usher and elder. He had served as a Union Township trustee for 20 years, was an honorary member of the Fraternal Order of Police, a member of Old Fashioned Farmers Association, Elks Lodge of Van Wert and Van Wert Crime Stoppers. He was a former member of Van Wert Chamber of Commerce Board of Trustees, Farmers Mutual Board of Directors, Van Wert County Trustees Association, the Two-Cylinder Club, Antique Tractor and Toy Collectors, the Van Wert Moose Lodge and Scott Lions Club.
Other survivors include his children, Joyce (Doug) Runyon of rural Van Wert, William (Kathy) Dowler of rural Convoy and Sharon (Kevin) Gehres of rural Ohio City; a brother, Robert (Lois) Dowler of New Haven, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Dugan Runyon, Heather Mohr, Adam Runyon, John Dowler, Stephen Dowler, Kyle Gehres and Alisha Gehres; three great-grandchildren, Christopher Mohr, Katrina Runyon and Morgan Dowler, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Derek Runyon, a brother, Paul Henry Dowler, and a sister, Lois Ann Dowler.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Van Wert, the Rev. Lance O’Donnell and William Barlow officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Convoy.
Calling hours are 4-9 p.m. Friday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, and noon to time of service Saturday at the church.
Preferred memorial is Lutheran Hour of Worship.
