Nancy L. Curts 01/10/2005

Nancy L. Curts, age 72, of Township Road 230, Cardington, died Monday morning, January 10, 2005 at her residence. She was born December 15, 1932 in Chardon, OH to the late Milo B. and LaVerne E. (Korns) Richey.

Nancy was a 1950 graduate of Cardington HS, she was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Mt Gilead and she had worked as a clerk at Whiston's Pharmacy in Mt. Gilead for over 20 years.

On March 25, 1951 at the United Methodist Church in Cardington she married Robert Curts and he survives in Cardington.

Other survivors include, three sons and their wives; Gary and Holly Curts of Mt. Vernon, Michael and Pam Curts of Terre Houte, Indiana, and Stephan and Joanna Curts of Mt. Gilead; 9 grandchildren, Clay, Alec, Chad, Laurel, Andrew, Adria and Rebecca Curts, Kristy (Cris) Boehm, and Sarah (Kurtis) Campbell; 2 great-grandchildren, Ethan and Aubrey Boehm; 3 brothers, James Richey of Spencer,NY, Keith Richey of Delaware and David Richey of Edison; a sister, Juanita Randall of Mt. Gilead; and 2 aunts, Dorothy Parks of Twinsburg and Martha Korns of Marengo.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was also preceded in death by her step-mother, Virginia Emswiler Richey, 3 brothers, Joseph, Jack and Phillip Richey and a sister, Jean Ann Richey.

Friends may call Wednesday, January 12, 2005, from 3-7PM at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 13, 2005 at 11AM at Trinity United Methodist Church in Mt. Gilead and burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Cardington.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Trinity United Methodist Church, 75 East High Street, Mt. Gilead, Ohio 43338.

Woneta J. Mounts 01/01/2005

Woneta J. Mounts, age 73, died Saturday morning at Morrow Manor Nursing Center. She was born on February 16, 1931 in Mt. Victory, Ohio to the late Gail and Thelma (Cogley) Mabery.

On June 13, 1950 in Greenup, KY she married Kenneth E. Mounts and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include one daughter and her husband Carol and Gary Bradley of Fulton; one son and his wife Royce and Marie Mounts of Mansfield; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and one sister Dorothy Price of Marion.

In addition to her parents Woneta was preceded in death by 1 brother and 1 sister.

Friends may call at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington on Monday January 3, 2005 from 5-8PM where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:30PM with Pastor Edward Colegrove of the Edison Enterprise Baptist Church officiating.

Norma J. Hildebrand 12/31/2004

Norma J. Hildebrand, age 76, of Woodside Village Care Center, died Friday morning, December 31, 2004 at Woodside Village Care Center. She was born July 20, 1928 in Cardington to the late Ralph W. and Mabel E. (Pinder) Wiseman.

She worked over 20 years in Central Supply at Morrow County Hospital working as a Supervisor. She also had worked for Dr. Kubbs. Norma was a member of Gilead Friends Church, the Women's Missionary Group and had taught Sunday School. She was also a Garden Club member.

On July 20, 1946 at her home in Harmony Township she married Orrin W. Hildebrand. He preceded her in death on September 17, 2004.

Survivors include 2 children and their spouses, Nancy Jo and Robert Smith of Cardington and Timothy and Barb Hildebrand of Mt. Gilead; 4 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Jeff, and Carrie; one great-granddaughter Caraline; two sisters and their husbands, Vonnie and Ken Hull of Mt. Gilead, and Sheree and Joe Graham of Cardington; brother and sister in law, Warren and Martha 'Pat' Hildebrand.

In addition to her parents and husband, Norma was preceded in death by a brother, Carlos Wiseman.

Friends may call Monday, January 3, 2005 from 4-7Pm at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at Gilead Friends Church with Pastor Charles Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Quakerdom Cemetery

Stella Mae Kaelber 12/30/2004

Stella Mae Kaelber, age 80, of US RT 42 in Cardington died Thursday afternoon, December 30, 2004 at Bennington Glen Nursing Center. She was born February 6, 1924 in Swordscreek, Virginia to the late Howard F. and Rittie B. (Childers) Bostic.

She had worked 30 years at Peco in Galion and North Electric as a coil inspector. Mae was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist in Marion.

On November 7, 1936 in Greenup, KY she married Lloyd A. Kaelber and he died August 26, 1992.

Survivors include three children and their spouses, Olen and Joan Kaelber and Dave and Barbara Kaelber all of Cardington and Mariman and Richard Murphy of Launa Nigel, CA; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and a brother, Howard Hamblin

In addition to her parents and husband, Mae was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 5 sisters.

Friends may call on Sunday, January 2, 2005 from 2-4PM at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, January 3, 2005 at 1:30PM at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens on ST RT 423 North of Marion.

Denise A. Sanderson 12/30/2004

Denise A. Sanderson, age 48, of County Road 150, Cardington, passed away Thursday morning December 30, 2004. She was born January 20, 1956 in Marysville Memorial Hospital in Union County to Harold L. and Mary E. (McLaughlin) Howard. They reside in Marysville.

She was a 1974 graduate of Marysville HS and a graduate of the Tri-Rivers Licensed Practical Nursing program. Denise had worked as both nurse and secretary in Dr. William Lee's office and served as the coroner's assistant in Morrow County. She attended the First United Methodist Church in Cardington. Currently Denise was taking medical billing classes so that she could open her own business. Denise enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved Ohio State, writing poetry and going to pow wows. She enjoyed flying, had a passion for the Lord and a zest for life. Denise will be truly missed by all of her family and friends.

Denise met her husband, Mike, while they were in high school and he was the love of her life for 28 years. They were married at the First United Methodist Church in Marysville on August 14, 1976.

Survivors include a daughter born in 1981, Airen Sanderson of Columbus; 3 sisters, Rebecca Morrow of Marysville, Tami and her husband, Dennie Atzenhoefer of Columbus, Angela and her husband, Kris Rogers of Rushylvania; a brother, Timothy Howard and his fiancée, Mary Blankenship of Cable and 8 nieces and nephews. Also, she is survived by her faithful dog 'Baby'.

Friends may call Tuesday, January 4, 2005 from 5-8PM at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington where the funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at 1PM. Reverend Scot Ocke will officiate and burial will be in Glendale Cemetery.

Harley D. 'Bud' Crum 12/28/2004

Harley D. 'Bud' Crum, age 73, of Township Road 138, Cardington died early Tuesday morning, December 28, 2004 at his residence. He was born on April 13, 1931 in Green Camp to the late Walter and Elizabeth (Hendershot) Crum.

Bud had served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Richland Road Church of Christ and had served as an Elder of the church. Bud was a member of the Melody Five Band and enjoyed playing at nursing homes, square dances and for benefits. He worked for the Board of Public Affairs for the Village of Cardington Water Department for 15 years.

On August 12, 1950 in West Virginia he married the former Agnes 'Aggie' Munro and she survives in Cardington.

Survivors include 5 children and their spouses; Dana Crum of Tulsa, OK, Cindy and Mark McCloskey of Bowling Green, OH, Thomas and Marilyn Crum of King Fisher, OK, Kathy and Perry Geyer of Galion, OH and Kevin and Kay Crum of Cardington; 10 grandchildren, Nickole, Ricky, Jill, Greg, Adam, Mandy, Sean, Jarrod, Eric and Tyler; 6 great-grandchildren, Zak, Carynn, Kazee, Megan, Alyssa, Chloe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Sunday, January 2, 2005 from 1 to 5PM at Gompf Funeral Home in Cardington. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 3, 2005 at 11AM at Richland Road Church of Christ in Marion with Russell Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery in Cardington. military honors will be observed.

Those wishing to make memorial donations are asked to consider Richland Road Church of Christ or Hospice of Morrow County in care of the Gompf Funeral Home.
