Rex E. Craig Sr

Age: 69
CONVOY - Rex E. Craig Sr., 69, of rural Convoy died at 8:10 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2003, at his residence.
He was born April 14, 1934, in Van Wert, the son of the late Joseph Craig Sr. and Cecil (Risher) Craig. On Nov. 10, 1978, he married Evelyn E. Storm, who survives.
Mr. Craig retired from the City of Van Wert in 1996 and currently worked at Fort Wayne Vehicle Auction, Fort Wayne, Ind. He attended Joy Fellowship Church in New Haven, Ind., was a social member of the Van Wert Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the Sons of the American Legion.
Other survivors include one son, Rhett E. Craig of Convoy; one brother, Albert O. Craig of Salt Lake City, Utah, and a sister, Juanita Druckemiller of Van Wert.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Craig Jr. and Walter R. Craig, and a sister, Betty Waldron.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, the Rev. Matthias Snodderly officiating.
Calling hours are 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

G. Beatrice Armstrong

MIDDLE POINT - G. Beatrice Armstrong, 95, died at 10:20 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital.
She was born March 23, 1908, in Logan County, the daughter of the late William W. and Laura Edna (Klinger) Shafer. She married H. Ancel Armstrong, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Armstrong was a homemaker, formerly employed at Borden Cheese Company in Van Wert. Her hobbies included crocheting, cooking, baking and sewing. She enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews.
Survivors include four nieces, Joann Baker, Betty Lane, Phyllis Culver and Sheryl Ball; nine nephews, Lester, John, Ken Shafer, Norman, Nolan, Dean, Ernest, Ronald and Harry Armstrong; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Shafer, and a brother-in-law, Edwin Hammons.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Emery, Chester and Kenneth Shafer; one sister, Lucille Hammons; one niece, and one nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel, Delphos, the Rev. Cynthia Lumm officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Harter & Son Funeral Home, Delphos.
Memorial contributions are Middle Point Fire & EMS and Middle Point United Methodist Church.
Lucille A. Bollinger
Died: Sunday, May 04, 2003
Age: 91
ROCKFORD - Lucille A. Bollinger, 91, of Rockford, died at 11:45 pm. Sunday, May 4, 2003, at Maplewood of Shane's Village, Rockford.
She was born Feb. 14, 1909, in Rockford, the daughter of the late Luther and Maude (Brookhart) Adams. On Aug. 26, 1929, she married Vilas Bollinger, who preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 1991.
Mrs. Bollinger was a homemaker.
Survivors include:
Son - Richard (Alice) Bollinger of Berne, Ind.
Daughters - Esther (Denton) McMahn of Huntsville, Ala., Miriam (Donald) Baer of Paulding, Martha (Robert) Bruns of Rockford and Sharon (Gary) Kimmel of Celina
Sister-in-law - Shirley Adams of Lima
Sixteen grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild survives.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert, two grandsons, and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, the Rev. Mike Berne officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. today and an hour prior to service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
William M. Paul
Died: Sunday, May 04, 2003
Age: 70
DELPHOS - William M. "Bill" Paul, 70, died at 11:58 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2003, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born Sept. 8, 1932, in Delphos, the son of the late E.J. "Boots" and Audrey (Kohn) Paul. On Nov. 9, 1963, he married Carolyn Rowley, who survives in Delphos.
Mr. Paul retired from Ford Motor Company in 1993 after 34 years.

Daughters - Lisa (Bill) Loughman of Findlay and Julie (Tim) Menke of Perrysburg
Sister - Joan Steinbrenner of Delphos
Five grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Abie Marie Loughman.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Delphos, the Rev. David Howell officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Harter & Son Funeral Home, Delphos, and an hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
Helen A. Fackler
Died: Sunday, May 04, 2003
Age: 91
Helen A. Fackler, 91, of Van Wert died at 12:57 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2003, at Hearth & Home, Van Wert.
She was born Jan. 14, 1912, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late George O. and Ocie (Temple) Boroff. On March 20, 1931, she married Thurman T. "Ted" Fackler, who preceded her in death on Sept. 18, 1976.
Mrs. Fackler worked at Colonial Restaurant for 13 years and the Van Wert County Hospital for several years. She was a member of First Friends Church in Van Wert, a member of the Women of the Moose for over 50 years, the Van Wert American Legion Auxiliary and a charter member of the FOE Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sisters, S. Louise Boroff and Mae Wallace, both of Van Wert.
She was preceded in death by eight brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Rev. Bill Jeffress officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where a Fraternal Order of Eagles service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Preferred memorial is Hearth & Home Activities Fund.
Tana L. Sweigart Wenning
Died: Saturday, May 03, 2003
Age: 54
ST. MARYS - Tana L. Sweigart Wenning, 54, of St. Marys died at 8:57 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2003, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
She was born Sept. 4, 1948, in Celina, the daughter of Harold "Butch" Fry and the late Helen (Elsea) Fry. On July 7, 1992, she married Dennis Wenning, who survives.
Mrs. Wenning was employed as a cashier supervisor by K-Mart in the St. Marys Square Shopping Plaza. She had previously been employed at the former Huffy Bicycle Mfg. in Celina.

Sons - James (Jane) Sweigart and John (Judy Cron) Sweigart, both of Celina, Jeff (Kim) Sweigart of St. Marys
Stepson - Neil Wenning of Rockford
Stepdaughters - Maria Wenning of Rockford and Yvonne Wenning of Houston, Texas
Brothers - Arlen "Jake" (Kathy) Fry and Louis (Susan) Fry, both of St. Marys
Sisters - Brenda (Mike) Fishbaugh of Celina, Mary (Bill) Wisener of St. Marys and Sandy (Jim) Wieman of New Bremen
Nine grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Sweigart, and a brother, Lee Fry.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Ohio 703 West, St. Marys, the Rev. Michael Spaulding officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
