READING, Mich. - Harold E. Ashton, 88, a longtime Reading resident, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, in Sebring, Fla.
He was born Dec. 7, 1914, in Scott, the son of the late Morgan and Winnie (Mohr) Ashton. On Feb. 12, 1939, he married Ruth Rumble, who survives.
Other survivors include:
Daughters - Sharon (Lou) Burke and Nina (Robert) Risk, both of Reading, and Marilyn (Robert) Roth of Simsbury, Conn.
Sons - Dennis (Sharon) Ashton of Ortonville, Mich., Don (Bobbie) Ashton of Fort Wayne, Ind., and William (Diane) Ashton of Boca Raton, Fla.
Brother - Russell (Maxine) Ashton of Colorado
Twelve grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by one brother, a sister, and one son, Robert.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at George White Funeral Home, Reading. Internment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Reading.
Calling hours are 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

CELINA - Rose Ann Chrisman, 68, of Celina died at 6:35 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at Celina Manor.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Rev. Richard Riedel officiating. Burial will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2-9 p.m. Sunday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina.
SPENCERVILLE - Myrtle R. Louth
Died: Tuesday, February 4, 2003
Age: 82
SPENCERVILLE - Myrtle R. Louth, 82, of rural Spencerville, died at 3 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home, Spencerville.
She was born Feb. 21, 1920, in Delphos, the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Cleman Rahrig. On Nov. 30, 1940, she married Maurice A. Louth, who preceded her in death on Sept. 20, 1984.
Mrs. Louth retired from Ohio Decorative Products in Spencerville after 20 years of service and had assisted her husband on the family farm. She had been a member of Olive Chapel United Methodist Church in Converse and attended Kingsley United Methodist Church in Van Wert County. She was a member of Bowersock Bros. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post Auxiliary 6772 in Spencerville and the Converse Garden Club. She was a 1938 graduate of Delphos St. John's High School.
Survivors include four sons, Bernard (Pam) Louth, Dennis (Kay) Louth and Rex (Deb) Louth, all of Spencerville, and Larry Louth of Celina; one daughter, Marilyn Ladd of Spencerville; one sister, Elda Calvelage of Delphos; a brother, Bernard (Juanita) Falke of Delphos; one brother-in-law, Arnold Liebrecht of Delphos; 14 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Beverly Louth; one brother, Forest Rahrig, and a sister, Agnes Liebrecht.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, the Rev. Charles Glover officiating. Burial will follow in Wright Cemetery, near Converse.
Calling hours are 3:30-5:30 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - Marie Mae Miller

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - Marie Mae Miller, 88, of Baldwin City, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at the Baldwin Care Center.
She was born July 15, 1915, in Elida, the daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Williams) Lloyd. On July 15, 1933, she married Jesse Edward Miller in Elida, who preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 1995.
Mrs. Miller was a homemaker.
Survivors include:
Son - Robert (Shirley) Miller of Baldwin City
Daughter - Mary Ann (Charles) England of Broken Arrow, Okla.
Sisters - Eleanor Leatherman of Lima and Margie Verhling of Michigan
Six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Lamb-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home, Baldwin City, Kan. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Allentown Cemetery.
Mrs. Miller will lie in state after 1 p.m. today and the family will gather to meet friends from 6 p.m. to service time at the funeral home in Baldwin City.
Area arrangements were handled by Harter & Son Funeral Home, Delphos.
SPENCERVILLE - Margie J. Baxter Heil

SPENCERVILLE - Margie J. Baxter Heil, 57, of Spencerville, died at 8:20 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home in Spencerville,
She was born June 4, 1945, in Lima, the daughter of Richard G. and Dorothy E. Gold Kill. On Jan. 27, 1979, she married Vernon E. Baxter, who preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 1996, Then on Oct. 26, 1996, she married R. James Heil, who survives.
Mrs. Heil was co-owner of the RJ Discount Mart in Spencerville.
Other survivors include:

Stepson - Merl James "M.J," Heil of Van Wert;
Brothers - William E. (Mary) Kill of Venedocia and Raymond C. (Carol) Kill of St. Marys
Sisters - Juanita L. (James) Stauffer of New Lebanon and Ronda Bennette of Tucson
Several nieces and nephews and one grandchild, Melinda K. Ford of Tucson, also survive.
One grandson, Shawn Bennette, is deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, the Revs. Thomas M. McDonald and Oran L. Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Spencerville Cemetery.

OAKWOOD - Ernest A. Burnett

Age: 76
OAKWOOD - Ernest A. Burnett, 76, died at 12:51 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne.
He was born Jan. 27, 1927, in Miami, Fla., the son of the late Newton I. and Adalia (Moyer) Burnett. In 1947, he married Sarah A. Amstutz, who preceded him in death in 1975. In 1977, he married Barbara Friend Donley, who preceded him in death in 1989.
Mr. Burnett directed band at Paulding High School for 27 years. He was recently employed part-time as a music teacher at Oakwood Elementary School.

Sons - Marvin K. (Kathy) Burnett of Archbold and Kevin D. (Joni) Burnett of Fort Wayne, Ind.
Stepchildren - Shayna Donley of Centerville and Brian Donley of Oakwood
Brother - Raymond Burnett of Hamilton
Six grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Ernest Jr.; one sister, Adalia Carmack, and a brother, Orville Burnett.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Christian Church, Paulding, the Rev. Susan Taylor officiating. A 2 p.m. graveside service will be conducted at Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton.
Calling hours are 2-5 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at Den Herder Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church.

DECATUR, Ind. - Helen M. Redding, 82, of Decatur, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at Adams County Memorial Hospital, Decatur.
She was born Feb. 9, 1920, in Adams County, Ind., the daughter of the late Ernest and Pearl (Frauhiger) Longenberger. On April 23, 1941, she married Marvin P. Redding, who preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 1986.
Mrs. Redding was a homemaker.
Survivors include:
Daughters - Janell (Virgil Jr.) Bowers of Decatur and Joan (Richard) McDougall of Paulding
Brothers - Harry Longenberger of Monroe, Ind., and William Longenberger, Roger Longenberger and Richard Longenberger, all of Bluffton, Ind.
Sister - Lucille Bucher of Preble, Ind.
Four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Bertsch and two daughters, Judy & Joyce Redding.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home, Decatur, the Rev. Jean Carmean officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Ossian, Ind.
