Age: 89

GOMER - Mabel M. Stewart, 89, died at 8:35 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2003, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.

She was born March 9, 1914, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Eli and Lula (Markley) Stewart.

Miss Stewart retired from J.C. Penney. She was a member of Ridge United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: three nephews, Eric (Robin) Stewart, Larry (Deb) Stewart and Garry (JoAnn) Stewart, and a niece, Karen (James) Frankhouser, 10 great-nieces and nephews and six great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Kenny Stewart, and an infant sister, Florence Stewart.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Harter and Son Memorial Chapel, Delphos, the Rev. Ron Lumm officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery.

Calling hours are 6-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are Delphos Visiting Nurses, Ridge United Methodist Church and Elida Fire and Rescue.

Tana L. Sweigart Wenning
Died: Saturday, May 3, 2003
Age: 54

ST. MARYS - Tana L. Sweigart Wenning, 54, of St. Marys died at 8:57 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2003, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.

She was born Sept. 4, 1948, in Celina, the daughter of Harold "Butch" Fry and the late Helen (Elsea) Fry. On July 7, 1992, she married Dennis Wenning, who survives.

Mrs. Wenning was employed as a cashier supervisor by K-Mart in the St. Marys Square Shopping Plaza. She had previously been employed at the former Huffy Bicycle Mfg. in Celina.

Other survivors include:

Sons - James (Jane) Sweigart and John (Judy Cron) Sweigart, both of Celina, Jeff (Kim) Sweigart of St. Marys

Stepson - Neil Wenning of Rockford

Stepdaughters - Maria Wenning of Rockford and Yvonne Wenning of Houston, Texas

Brothers - Arlen "Jake" (Kathy) Fry and Louis (Susan) Fry, both of St. Marys

Sisters - Brenda (Mike) Fishbaugh of Celina, Mary (Bill) Wisener of St. Marys and Sandy (Jim) Wieman of New Bremen

Nine grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Sweigart, and a brother, Lee Fry.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Ohio 703 West, St. Marys, the Rev. Michael Spaulding officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.

Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mandy Lynn Williamson
Died: Saturday, May 3, 2003
Age: 27

MENDON - Mandy Lynn Williamson, 27, of Mendon, formerly of Delphos, died Saturday, May 3, 2003, at her residence.

She was born Jan. 4, 1976, in Lima, the daughter of Robert and Sandra (Lindeman) Williamson, who survive in Delphos.

Ms. Williamson worked at Vancrest Health Care of Delphos as a nurses aide.

Other survivors include:

Sons - Robert Brown, Lae Brown III "Junior" and Curtis Brown, all at home in Mendon

Daughter - Elizabeth "Lizzy" Brown at home

Brother - Jim Williamson of Delphos

Grandmother - Mildred McKinley of Delphos

Many uncles and aunts also survive.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marge and Carl Lindeman and Harold Williamson

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Harter and Son Memorial Chapel, Delphos, the Rev. David Howell officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Rita L. Boardwine
Died: Friday, May 2, 2003
Age: 48

Rita L. Boardwine, 48, of Van Wert died at 7:45 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2003, at her residence.

She was born Aug. 15, 1954, the daughter of the late Samuel and Geneva (Thomas) White . On April 22, 1989, she married John A. Boardwine, who survives.

Mrs. Boardwine was a homemaker.

Other survivors include:

Children -- Thomas S. (Rhonda L.) White of Van Wert and Aaron R. (Rebecca M.) White of Lima

Brothers -- Henry White of War, W.Va., and Dale White of Berwind, W.Va.

Sisters -- Marsha (Danny) Muncy of Berwind and Phyllis (Bob) Thatcher and Patsy (Denny) Hockett, both of Rockford

Three grandchildren, Jordan, Tyler and Tori, also survive.

Private family services will be held.

HAVILAND - Clarence Cook
Died: Tuesday, August 20, 2002
Age: 85

HAVILAND -- Clarence Cook, 85, of Haviland died at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2002, at the home of his son, near Five-Span, Ohio.

He was born Sept. 21, 1916, in Eifort, the son of the late Edward O. Cook and Ada May (Smith) Cook Stroth. On Nov. 3, 1946, he married Christina Leonard, who preceded him in death on Dec. 24, 1998.

Mr. Cook worked as a carpenter throughout his life and retired in 1981 as a press operator at Federal Mogul in Van Wert. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he served from 1941-45 in the 607th Coast Artillery Battery and was a gun crewman during Pearl Harbor. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Van Wert.

Survivors include one daughter, Victoria (Nick) Spencer of Oakwood; two sons, Clifford Cook of Haviland and Joseph (Betty) Cook of near Five-Span; two half sisters, Wilma Jean Everman of Portsmouth and Marian Frances Stroth of Blackfork; a half brother, Warren "Buzz" Stroth of Jackson; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Walter E. Stroth, two half sisters, Anna Lee Rutledge and Betty Lou Powell, and a great-grandson, baby Noah Keller.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Brickner Funeral Home, the Rev. Tim Burden officiating. Burial will be in Blue Creek Cemetery, Haviland, with graveside military rites conducted by the combined honors unit of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803.

Calling hours are 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday and an hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial is Trinity United Methodist Church, Van Wert.

PAULDING - Clara R Sinn
Died: Tuesday, August 20, 2002
Age: 100

PAULDING -- Clara R. Sinn, 100, died at 1:10 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2002, at Paulding County Hospital, Paulding.

She was born Aug. 26, 1901, in Princeville, Ill., the daughter of the late Carl G. and Marie (Spahr) Zeltwanger. On Feb. 20, 1927, she married George Sinn, who preceded her in death on May 4, 1989.

Mrs. Sinn was a homemaker and a member of the Latty Apostolic Church, Latty.

Survivors include a daughter, Minnie Sinn of Paulding; two sons, Ray (Ann) Sinn and Walter (Renee) Sinn, both of Haviland; 20 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Carl Sinn; four sisters, Nellie Sinn, Martha Zeltwanger, Marian Zeltwanger and Minnie Fetter, and five brothers, Carl, Fred, William, Albert, and an infant, Christ Zeltwanger.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the church with church clergymen officiating. Burial will be in Latty Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery.

Calling hours are 2-5 and 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, and an hour prior to services Friday at Latty Apostolic Christian Church.

The family suggests memorials to Gideon's International or Apostolic Christian Church Building Fund.

DECATUR
Died: Saturday, August 17, 2002
Age: 0

DECATUR, Ind. -- Mary E. Fuhrman, 80, of Decatur died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2002, at Adams County Memorial Hospital, Decatur.

She was born Dec. 19, 1921, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Carl P. and Cleo M. (Krick) Miller. On March 2, 1939, she married Earl G. Fuhrman, who preceded her in death on March 17, 1999.

Mrs. Fuhrman was a homemaker. A former member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, she attended St. Mark's United Methodist Church. She was a member of Women of the Moose 1311, United Methodist Woman and was a former Sunday School teacher.

Survivors include three daughters, Linda (Richard) Byer of Willshire and Nancy (Jack) Affolder and Barbara (Bill) Wolfe, both of Decatur, Ind.; two brothers, William P. Miller of Maumee and Earl L. Miller of Kokomo, Ind.; 10 grandchildren, Tony L. Arnold, Troy E. Arnold, William T. Wolfe, Scott M. Wolfe, Tammy R. Passwater, Sheryl Harner, Shelly Schwartz, Sheila Byer, Shelby Strack and Shawnette Byer, and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home, Decatur, the Rev. Fuhrman Miller officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery, Decatur.

Calling hours are 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial is Pathways.
