Betty J. Keyton

DELPHOS - Betty J. Keyton, 71, died at 10;39 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2003, at her residence.
She was born March 8, 1932, in Delphos, the daughter of the late Elmer and Helen (Mihm) Grunden. In June 1955, she married Hubert Keyton, who survives in Lima.
Mrs. Keyton was a homemaker.
Other survivors include:
Sons -- Robert (Linda) Monfort of Lima and Carl "Eddy" Keyton of Delphos
Daughters -- Bonnie (Chris) Lee and Sandy (Terry) Wilkins, both of Lima, and Helen McDermitt and Carol (Rick) Boop, both of Delphos
Sister -- Bonnie I. Ickes of Middle Point
Fourteen grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Danny Monfort and David A. Keyton and Herbert Keyton Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel, Delphos, the Rev. Bill Reeder officiating. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Maurice A. Theismann

Age: 94
DECATUR, Ind. - Maurice A. Theismann, 94, formerly of Fort Wayne and Angola, Ind., died at 4:40 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2003, at Woodcrest Nursing Center, Decatur, Ind.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary of The Assumption Catholic Church, Decatur, the Rev. Philip DeVolder officiating. Burial will be in Fort Wayne Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
Calling hours are noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home, Decatur, where a rosary service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday and a prayer service at 9:30 a.m. Monday.
Ruth E. Wurst
Died: Thursday, March 13, 2003
Age: 81
Ruth E. Wurst, 81, of Van Wert died at 1 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2003, at Van Wert Manor Nursing Home, Van Wert.
She was born Jan. 27, 1922, in Lima, the daughter of the late Melvin and Hazel M. (Gierhart) Wheeler. On Aug. 17, 1949, she married Willis Henry Wurst, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Wurst retired from Fisher Big Wheel in Van Wert after 20 years.
Survivors include:
Daughters - Debra K. (Lyle) Ebel of Grover Hill and Susan E. (Lynn) Jackson of Van Wert
Brothers - Melvin (Joan) Wheeler of Decatur, Ind., Lloyd Wheeler of Riverview, Fla., Lawrence Wheeler of Portland, Ore., and Fredric W. Wheeler of Van Wert
Sisters - Pauline Proklevich of Brandon, Fla., Violet (Gordon) Kimmey of Valrica, Fla., and Mary (Ray) Hingson of Pinellas Park, Fla.
Three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Wheeler, and a sister, Bernadine Wheeler.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, the Rev. Bill Jeffress officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Barbara L. Crouch
Died: Tuesday, March 11, 2003
Age: 70
Barbara L. Crouch, 70, of Van Wert died at 2:21 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert.
She was born May 26, 1932, in Celina, the daughter of the late Burton Stemen and Enid L. (Baldwin) Mace. On March 21, 1959, in Lyn, Ind., she married Carl H. Crouch, who survives in Van Wert.
Mrs. Crouch was a homemaker, attended First Friends Church in Van Wert and enjoyed her cats and putting together jigsaw puzzles with her grandchildren.
Other survivors include one daughter, Jane (Ralph Jr.) Kreischer of Van Wert; one stepsister, Ann (James) McCray of Van Wert; three grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one stepbrother and a sister.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, the Rev. Gene Moser officiating, assisted by the Rev. Job Stagner. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point.
Calling hours are 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Brandy Jo Flynn
Died: Monday, March 10, 2003
Age: 15
PAULDING -- Brandy Jo Flynn, 15, died at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2003, as a result of a traffic accident in Paulding County.
She was born March 11, 1987, in Toledo, the daughter of Danny R. Flynn of Dublin, Ga., and Jenifer J. (Kimmel) Flynn of Paulding.
Brandy was a freshman at Paulding High School, Paulding.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, James Flynn; paternal stepgrandfather, Max Hawk; maternal great-grandfather, Edwin Kimmel Sr., and maternal great-great-grandparents, Orvall and Dalie Glass.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding. Burial will be in Hedges Cemetery, Jackson Township, Paulding.
Calling hours are 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to service time Friday at the funeral home.
Barbara Ann (Resnor) Saum
Died: Monday, March 10, 2003
Age: 84
Barbara Ann (Resor) Saum, 84, of Van Wert, passed from the loving arms of her family into the arms of the Lord on Monday, March 10, 2003, at OSU Medical Center in Columbus.
She was born July 5, 1918, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Mina (Blank) and William Resor. On June 12, 1936, she married Gordon A. McMillen of Van Wert, who preceded her in death. On Feb. 14, 1964, she married Willis Saum of Scott, who also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Saum, a 1936 graduate of Van Wert High School, was a 50-year member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Her deep faith in God provided a lifelong source of serenity and strength. A longtime member of the Van Wert Garden Club, she was employed at Van Wert Manufacturing Co., Sears Catalog Store and the Marsh Foundation.
Mrs. Saum was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, camping, quilting and needlecrafts. She enjoyed cooking and baking. She took great pleasure from cooking and hosting holiday dinners for her family. She particularly enjoyed baking cookies. She became known to the grandchildren as the "Cookie Granny". She was a loving mother who took her role as a mother seriously, providing her children with unconditional love.
She is survived by her children, Kent (Janice) McMillen of Van Wert, Kathy (Doug) DeCamp of Columbus, Sue (Dan) Knight of Fort Wayne, Ind., Steve McMillen of Columbus, Fran (Ben LoBue) McMillen of Las Cruces, N.M., and two stepsons, Roger (Cora) Saum of Delphos and Don Saum of Tulsa, Okla.; one sister, Louise Pheneger of Wheeling, W.Va.; nine grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
A sister, Isobel Drury of Van Wert, and a brother, Billy Resor, who died in childhood, preceded her in death.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Van Wert, the Rev. Joachim Wilck officiating. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery, Scott.
Calling will be two hours before the service in the church parlor.

Maybelle Dickerhoof

Age: 86
Maybelle Dickerhoof, 86, of Van Wert died Sunday, March 9, 2003, at Sara Jane Living Center, Delphos.
She was born July 4, 1917, in Mark Center, the daughter of the late Jesse H. and Nora B. (Apple) Ebersole. On Feb. 9, 1938, in Pineville, Ky., she married Loren Dickerhoof, who preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 1976.
For a number of years she owned and cooked at Lone Tower Restaurant in Cecil.
Survivors include a son, Larry Dickerhoof of Van Wert; two daughters, Judy (Steve) Reznikov of Harlan, Ind., and Sherry (Greg) Subler of Delphos; one sister, Ocie Miller of Fort Wayne, Ind.; one daughter-in-law, Sally Dickerhoof of Delphos; a son-in-law, Bob Jackson of Harlan; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Max Dickerhoof; one daughter, Mary Jean Jackson; a brother, Mylo Ebersole; one great-grandchild, and a great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rice-Burr Funeral Home, Sherwood, the Rev. Paul Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Sherwood Cemetery, Sherwood.
Calling hours are from 2-7 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to service Wednesday at the funeral home.
