CELINA - Phyllis M. Poppe, 77, of Celina died at 2:40 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2003, at Gardens at Celina.
She was born Dec. 26, 1925, in Darke County, the daughter of the late John Smith. On Aug. 30, 1967, in Van Wert, she married John Poppe, who survives in Celina.
Mrs. Poppe was formerly employed by Goodyear.

She was preceded in death by three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Eugene Baker officiating. Burial will be in German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Calling hours are an hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
FORT JENNINGS - Alvera M. "Vera" Wieging
Died: Sunday, March 2, 2003
Age: 98
FORT JENNINGS - Alvera M. "Vera" Wieging, 98, died at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, March 2, 2003, at Vancrest Health Care Center.
She was born Sept. 18, 1904, in Ottoville, the daughter of the late Walter and Josephine (Sanders) Bigelow. In 1922, she married Edward Wieging, who preceded her in death on Aug. 25, 1959.
Mrs. Wieging was a beautician for 66 years, working until she was 93 years old. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Jennings, she cooked for the priest and sisters. She liked to sew, crochet and needlepoint and loved to cook. She was especially known for her pies. She was also a member of the CLC, Auxiliary VFW Post 3740 in Ottoville and helped start The Daughters of Auxiliary American Legion Post 715 in Fort Jennings and was a member of the American Legion Post 715 and Altar Rosary Society. She was a 1927 graduate of INEZ Kiefer Beauty College in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Survivors include a sister, Frances Kiefer of Swanton; a daughter-in-law, Pat Wieging of Fort Jennings, eight grandchildren, Gary (Margie) Wieging of Fort Jennings, Edward (Doreen) Wieging of Elida, Jack (Mary) Wieging of Granger, Ind., Randy Wieging, Debbie (Bob) Kennedy of Fort Wayne, Ind., Marsha (Dennis) Kahle of Elida, Cindy Wieging of Defiance and Linda (Keith) Gossar of Sarasota, Fla.; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, and one stepgreat-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Walter, Hillary, Bill and Ralph Bigelow; four sisters, Margaret Bigelow, Esther Metzger, Irene Spencer and Dorothy Hostman; two sons, Herbert J. and Thomas E. Wieging; one granddaughter, Lisa Marie Wieging, and a special friend, Lynn Bervinkle.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Fort Jennings, the Rev. Tony Borgia officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Fort Jennings.
Calling hours are 1-4 and 5-9 p.m. today at Harter & Son Funeral Home, Delphos, where a parish wake will be held at 5 p.m. today.
Preferred memorials are St. Joseph's Building Fund and donor's choice.
ELIDA - Richard Henry Kerman
Died: Saturday, March 1, 2003
Age: 90
ELIDA - Richard Henry Kerman, 90, died at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2003, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born Dec. 28, 1912, in Napoleon, the son of the late Ray Orville and Maude Della (Lenhart) Kerman. He married Amanda Bertha Stemen, who preceded him in death on Nov. 13, 1991.
Mr. Kerman, an avid fisherman, was a tool & die maker for Sheller Globe Corp. (Superior Coach). He was a member of Salem Mennonite Church in Elida.
Survivors include one son, Richard Ray Kerman of Elida and a sister, Rosemary Kanter of Wapakoneta.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Salem Mennonite Church, Elida, the Rev. Mel Hathaway officiating. Burial will be in Salem Mennonite Church Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Harter & Son Funeral Home, Delphos.
Preferred memorial is donor's choice.
Michael James Rollins
Died: Friday, February 28, 2003
Age: 22
Michael James Rollins, 22, of Van Wert died Friday afternoon, Feb. 28, 2003, in Bowling Green.
He was born Sept. 18, 1980, in Van Wert, the son of Charles R. Rollins Sr. of Ohio City and Pamela S. (Blackmore) Dellinger of Van Wert.
Other survivors include four brothers, Chuck (Jenny) Rollins, David Rollins (Sarah Smitley) Jeremy (Audrey) Rollins and Joel Rollins, all of Van Wert; two stepbrothers, Shaun (Aimee) Dellinger of San Francisco, Calif., and Shane (Rona) Dellinger of Coldwater; one stepsister, Brandi (Jeff) Zoller of Columbus; his stepgrandmother, Virginia Dellinger of Willshire; a companion, Gretchen Roberts of Perrysburg, and six nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dalila Rose Rollins, who preceded him in death on April 9, 2001.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, the Rev. Steve Placke of Vineyard Christian Fellowship officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
Calling hours are 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

PAYSON
Died: Tuesday, November 19, 2002
PAYSON, ARIZ. - Myrtle Anspaugh, 84, of Payson, Ariz. died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002 in Payson, Ariz.
She was born Sept. 25, 1918 near Defiance, the daughter of James and Carrie Bodenfender. On Jan. 15, 1936, she married Orville Anspaugh who preceded her in death in June 1999.
Mrs. Anspaugh started the Castle Convalescent Nursing Home in the early 1940s. Then she became a homemaker.
Survivors include:
Daughters - Carolyn Paris and Mary Pikulik both of Payson, Ariz., Shirley Weir of Van Wert
Son - James Anspaugh of Ohio City
Fourteen grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held Nov. 23 in Mesa, Ariz.
COLUMBIA CITY - Walter G. Schuman
Died: Tuesday, November 19, 2002
Age: 90
COLUMBIA CITY, IND. - Walter G. Schuman, 90, of Richland Township, Whitley County, Ind., died at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002 at The Oaks Living Center, Columbia City where he had been a resident since Oct. 1, 2002.
He was born Aug. 24, 1912, in Richland Township, Ind., the son of Grover C. and Bessie (Bowerman) Schuman. He married Myrtle O. Coyle who preceded him in death on Jan. 24, 1962. On July 9, 1966, he married Olive M. Knott Coyle who survives.
Mr. Schuman was a farmer. He raised registered Hereford cattle and was one of the first farmers in the county to use anhydrous ammonia in the corn fertilization and the addition of satellite fertilization. He resided on the family farm throughout his lifetime until failing health in May 2001.
Other survivors include two sons, Larry Schuman of Columbia City and Stephen M. Coyle of Van Wert; two daughters, Jeraldine L. Thomas and Mary Belle Chiles both of Van Wert; a sister, Ocie Spurrier of Columbia City; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Everett Schuman; a brother, Edson Schuman; and a sister, Adele Schuman.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City, Ind., with the Pastor Orlo Hibbs officiating. Burial will be in South Park Cemetery.
Calling hours are from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held at 8:30 p.m. today presented by the Due Guard Masonic Lodge.
Preferred memorials are to Senior Citizens Center or Whitley Branch of Parkview Home Health & Hospice.
BOTKINS - Randall E. "Randy" Greve
Died: Monday, November 18, 2002
Age: 49
BOTKINS - Randall E. "Randy" Greve, 49, of Botkins died at 6:44 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney, following a sudden illness.
He was born June 15, 1953, in Lima, the son of Ralph B. Greve of Wapakoneta and the late Norma M. (Doseck) Greve. On Aug. 9, 1975, he married Kay A. Maurer, who survives.
Mr. Greve was owner and operator of Greve Dry Wall & Painting, Botkins.

GREENVILLE - Etta Mae (Bruss Foley
Died: Sunday, November 17, 2002
Age: 59
GREENVILLE - Etta Mae (Bruss) Foley, 59, of Greenville died at 3:21 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, at her residence.
She was born April 26, 1943, in Greenville, the daughter of the late Paul E. and Blanch (Godown) Bruss. On Dec. 28, 1963, she married Thomas Foley, who survives.
Mrs. Foley taught the elementary grades in the Greenville School system for 34 years. She had taught at Woodland Heights, East School, South School and Gettysburg. She retired from teaching in June 1998.
She was also a Greenville businesswoman in partnership with her husband in the operation of the former Foley's. For several years, they also owned Mr. R.V. in Greenville. For the past 22 years, the couple had owned and operated the Fairlawn Steakhouse in Greenville, along with their family.

She was preceded in death by her father- and mother-in-law, Gaylord and Vada Foley, and a niece, Heather Bailey.
A celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenville, the Revs. John White and Dr. Fred Bernhard officiating. Burial will be in Abbottsville Cemetery, Arcanum.
