MARENGO -- Mary J. Conner, age 73, of Marengo, died unexpectedly at home Sunday morning, Oct. 6, 2002.

Friends may call Tuesday 5-8 p.m. and Wednesday 12:30 to 2 p.m., where services will follow at 2 p.m. Wednesday at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at 61, Sunbury. Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery, Chesterville.

Margaret M. Russell

PROSPECT -- Margaret M. Russell, 88, Prospect, passed away at 10:10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, at the Arbors at Delaware.

Born May 11, 1914, in Waldo, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Alma (Augenstein) Heiby.

On April 9, 1939, she married Carl J. Russell; he died Jan. 5, 2000.

A homemaker, she was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Prospect, where she was a Sunday school teacher for 17 years, member of Katherine Luther Circle, Prospect Garden Club and Jolly Joysters.

She is survived by two sons, Ralph (Patricia) Russell, Prospect, Charles (Shirley) Russell, Prospect; one daughter, Carolyn (Richard) Clunk, Delaware; one brother, Donald Heiby, Marion; two sisters, Virginia Baxter, Marion, Mary Loyer, Marion; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lowell Heiby.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Prospect, with the Rev. Stephen S. Bull officiating. Burial is in Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Gehm-Ballinger Funeral Home, Prospect.

Pallbearers will be Mike Russell, Andy Russell, Ty Williams, Bryon Bigford, Alan Clunk, Lonnie Daniels and two honorary pallbearers, Larry Clunk and Christopher Russell.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or donor's choice. Cards are available at the funeral home.

Ruth E. Search

MARION -- Funeral arrangements are pending with Denzer-Farison-Hottinger Funeral Home for Ruth E. Search, age 71, of Nassau Drive, Marion. She died Sunday afternoon, Oct. 6, 2002, at 4:30 p.m. at the home of her son in Meeker.

Marian M. Sperling

MARION -- Funeral arrangements are pending with Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors for Marian M. Sperling, age 87, Marion. She passed away Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002, at Marion General Hospital.

Carroll Dale Stith

DELAWARE -- Carroll Dale Stith, age 82, of Delaware, passed away at his home early Sunday morning, Oct. 6, 2002.

Friends may call Tuesday 5-8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., Delaware. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, Ohio 3 at 61, Sunbury. Interment in Sunbury Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at Grady, 561 W. Central Ave., Delaware, OH 43015.

Willie R. Goodman

MARION -- Willie R. Goodman, 72, 1299 Crescent Heights Blvd., passed away at 8:09 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002, at Marion General Hospital.

Born Nov. 30, 1929, in Leland, Miss., she was the daughter of the late Willie Hudson and Irene (Jones) Hudson.

She was retired as custodian with the Marion City Schools. She was a member of Christ Missionary Baptist Church. Willie was considered a neighborhood grandma. She worked through the Boosters Club at Marion Catholic High School.

She is survived by three sons, Allen Hudson, Waipu, Hawaii, Larry Hudson, Marion, Bobby Hudson, Long Beach, Calif.; three daughters, Virginia Dawson, Etesta L. Hudson, Demetria K. Goodman, all of Marion; two brothers, LeRoy Hudson and Jessie Hudson, both of St. Louis, Mo.; four sisters, Corrine Heights, Cheyenne, Wyo., Ernestine Laflorre, Chicago, Annie Rounds, Drew, Miss., Bobbie Jean Hudson, California; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter and three grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday at Christ Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Lyons officiating. Burial is in Grand Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call 5-9 p.m. Thursday at Boyd Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart of Ohio Kidney Dialysis Center.

Alma Buday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Mrs. Alma Buday, 89, passed away Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, in Charlotte, N.C., where she resided for the past 10 years.

She was born Mary Alma Clements on Feb. 18, 1913, in Bardstown, Ky., the daughter of William and Susan Clements. She was one of 13 children.

Alma married Andrew J. Buday at the Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak, Mich. in November of 1938. They moved from Detroit to Marion where Andy Buday established himself as a homebuilder. She lived in Marion for more than 40 years and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

Surviving are her daughters, Mrs. Murray (Susan) Lavender of Charlotte, N.C., Ms. Karen Garver of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Richard (Andrea) Gibb of Olympia Fields, Ill. and Mrs. Jack (Ellen) Lowe of Versailles, Ky. and eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a brother, Frederick Clements of Chelsea, Mich. and a sister, Dorothy Crowe of Flat Rock, Mich.

Visitation will be Friday from 9-10 a.m. at Gunder/Hall & folk Funeral Directors. Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Church with the Rev. Father Fred Schill officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Esther P. Cox Jividen

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Esther P. Cox Jividen, 77, of Charleston, W.Va., formerly of Richwood, Ohio, passed away Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002, at Meadowbrooke Acres Nursing Center following a long illness.

She was a homemaker and attended the First Baptist Church at Richwood.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest R. "Buster" Jividen, her son, Ernest Carroll Jividen, her parents, Grover and Rebecca Wilbourn Cox, and her sister, Valley Cox.

Survivors include two sons, James Jividen, Richwood, Randall Jividen, Marion; four daughters, Barbara Foreman of Keystone Heights, Fla., Marsha Lehman of Marysville, Ohio, Pat Milam of Poca, W.Va., Carolyn Nowery of Kenna, W.Va.; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at Raynes Funeral Home, Buffalo, with the Rev. Ezra Graley officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, Red House. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Raynes Funeral Home, Buffalo, W.Va.
