FORT JENNINGS - Ralph William Fry
Died: Friday, January 17, 2003
Age: 84

FORT JENNINGS - Ralph William Fry, 84, of rural Fort Jennings in  Jackson Township, died at 10:22 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at Lincolnway Home, in Ridge Township.

He was born Oct. 10, 1918, in Delphos, the son of the late Glenn and Saloma (Bryan) Fry. On Nov. 11, 1977, he married Alice (Rider) Little Wallick, who survives at Lincolnway Home.

Mr. Fry, retired farmer, was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the South Pacific. A member of Grace Church in Middle Point, he was also a member of Isaac Van Wert Post 178, American Legion in Van Wert, Robert G. Longwell Post 5803, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Buckeye State Sheriffs' Association and a life member of the 37th Division Veterans Association.

Survivors include one brother, Ernest (Delores) Fry of Sarasota, Fla., a sister, Marcile Crosby of Toledo, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Mercer Cemetery, Mercer.

Calling hours are 3-6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are Lincolnway Home Activity Fund or Grace Church.

DECATUR, Ind. - Lois F. Krick
Died: Friday, January 17, 2003
Age: 76

DECATUR, Ind. - Lois F. Krick, 76, of Decatur died at 5:35 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at Adams County Memorial Hospital, Decatur.

She was born Oct. 3, 1926, in Pleasant Mills, Ind., the daughter of the late Elmer A. and Irene B. (Louth) Garwood. On Oct. 24, 1944, in Decatur, Ind., she married Doyle H. Krick, who preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 1986.

Mrs. Krick retired in 1985 from Fleetwood Motor Homes with 13 years of service. She had also worked part time with Decatur Fabric Service.

Survivors include:

Daughters - Betty A. (William) King of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Judy D. Lambert of Fort Payne, Ala.

Son - David A. Krick of Hoagland, Ind.

Thirteen grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Charles R. Garwood.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, the Rev. Brian Wikoff officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery.

Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

LIMA - Marilyn Elaine Martin
Died: Friday, January 17, 2003
Age: 60

LIMA - Marilyn Elaine Martin, 60, died at 5:51 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at her residence.

She was born Jan. 28, 1942, in Delphos, the daughter of the late Edwin and Lela (Putman) Lindeman. On July 30, 1960, she married James L. Martin, who survives in Lima.

Mrs. Martin was a homemaker who owned and operated the Dairy Island for 12 years.

Other survivors include:

Daughters - Christina R. (Reggie) Rendon of Corpas Christi, Texas, and Nancy (Mark) Austin, Stacey (Matt) Widmaier and Mickie (Mike) Ebbeskotte, all of Lima

Sisters - Joanna (Richard) Roberts of Spencerville, Donna Snadley of Van Wert and Carol (Robert) Maloney of Middle Point

Brothers - Gerald (Kaye) Lindeman and Larry (Joyce) Lindeman, both of Delphos, Paul (Betty) Lindeman of Van Wert and James (Sue) Lindeman of Ohio City

Thirteen grandchildren, Heidi (Jay) Clemons, Misty Austin, Cody Austin, Randy Barber, Danielle McConnell, Zachary Meeks, Zavier Meeks, Donavan Ebbeskotte, Drew Ebbeskotte, Alexandra Widmaier, Mathew Widmaier, Bethany Widmaier and Jamie Martin, and two great-grandchildren, Kyle and Rebecca Clemons.

She was preceded in death by one son, James L. Martin Jr., two sisters, Imogene Joseph and Dorothy Williams and four brothers, Carl, Donald, Edwin and Kenny Lindeman.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Harter & Son Memorial Chapel, the Rev. Terry Brock officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.

Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

GROVER HILL - Veronica Mary "Ronnie" Golliver
Died: Thursday, January 16, 2003
Age: 80

GROVER HILL - Veronica Mary "Ronnie" Golliver, 80, died at 8:42 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at Van Wert Manor Nursing Home, Van Wert.

She was born Sept. 6, 1922, in Pittsfield, Mass., the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (O'Boyle) Robinson. On Oct. 17, 1945, in Long Island, N.Y., she married Russell T. Golliver, who preceded her in death on April 14, 1995.

Mrs. Golliver was employed at General Electric in Pittsfield, Mass, and Fort Wayne, Ind. A homemaker, she was a WAC in the U.S. Army from 1943-45, serving as a surgical technician (Tech-4).

Survivors include:

Son - Michael (Becky) Golliver of Alvaton, Ky.

Daughter - Susan (John) Moon of Grover Hill

Five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Patrick, Donald and Charles, and five sisters, Ellen Willner, Margaret Cotter, Nancy Carlson, Kathryn Mancivalano and Jane Spence, and a great-grandson, Austin Golliver.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, the Rev. G. Allen Fillman officiating. Burial will be in Middle Creek Cemetery, Grover Hill, with military graveside rites conducted by Grover Hill VFW Post 2873.

Calling hours are 2-9 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. to time of service Monday at the funeral home.

OHIO CITY - Mary Catherine Roehm
Died: Thursday, January 16, 2003
Age: 79

OHIO CITY - Mary Catherine Roehm, 79, of Ohio City died at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at Vancrest Health Care Center, Van Wert.

She was born Jan. 7, 1924, in Putnam County, the daughter of the late Joseph and Francis (Schroeder) Palte. On Aug. 31, 1946, she married Max S. Roehm, who preceded her in death on Jan. 7, 1989.

Mrs. Roehm, a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Michael C. (Deborah) Roehm of Ohio City and Mark J. (Karla) Roehm of Willshire; two brothers, Rich (Dellia) Palte and Ben (Doris) Palte, both of Columbus Grove; six grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Lawrence, Joseph and Ignatius Palte, and one sister, Marge Youngpeter.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, the Rev. Joseph M. Schmelzer of St. Mary of the Assumption Church officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City.

Visitation is one hour before services Saturday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial is Vancrest Nursing Home Activity Fund.

CELINA - Eugene Harmon Davis
Died: Wednesday, January 15, 2003
Age: 87

CELINA - Eugene Harmon Davis, 87, of Celina, formerly of Atlanta, died at 9:02 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at Colonial Nursing Center, Rockford.

He was born Feb. 8, 1915, in Celina, the son of the late Rowland and Cora Etta Siler Davis. On March 22, 1941, he married Marjorie K. Seward, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Davis was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include:

Brothers - Robert (Clara) Davis, Edward (JoAnn) Davis and Armon (Virginia) Davis, all of Celina

Sister-in-law - Ruth Davis of St. Marys

Sister - Romola (Charles) Beougher of Rockford

He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Russell Davis, another brother, Kenneth Davis, and one sister, Zella Ruth Harter.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Katie Hayes officiating. Burial will be in North Grove Cemetery, Celina, with graveside military honors.

Calling hours are 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

MENDON - Adam Michael Glen Harner
Died: Wednesday, January 15, 2003
Age: 6

MENDON - Adam Michael Glen Harner, 6, of Mendon died at 6:58 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, in a one-car accident on Mercer Road.

He was born Aug. 16, 1996, in Lima, the son of Michael Glen and Sheryl Ann (Byer) Harner, who survive in Mendon.

Adam was a kindergarten student at Parkway Elementary School.

Other survivors include:

Brother - Austin of Mendon

Sisters - Sarah of Celina, Ashley of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Andrea, Abbey, Amy and Audrey, all of Mendon

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, the Rev. Randy Christian officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Bethel Cemetery, Mendon.

Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
