Lola I. Montgomery

Lola I. Montgomery, 82 of Cambridge, Ohio died at 4:10 a.m. Monday, August 19, 2002 at Ohio State Univesity Hospital.

She was born September 15, 1919 at New Lexington, Ohio a daughter of the late William & Grace Ketchum Jenkins. She retired from Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center. She was a member of the Golden 60's.

Surviving are her husband, Edward D. Montgomery, whom she married August 10, 1941 of the home, son, Fred ( Rachel) Montgomery of Baltic, two daughters; Marie ( Paul) Clark of Cambridge & Martha ( Larry) Nelson of Brandon, Fla.brother, Lloyd ( Dolly) Jenkins of Zanesville, six grandchildren, two step grandchildren, nine great- grandchildren, & two step- great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents, brother, Earl Jenkins & sister, Esther Culver.

Friends may call from 9:00 a.m.till 11:00 a.m. Thursday August 22, 2002 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Mike White officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.

Kathy J. Stemm
Kathy J. Stemm, 39 of South Zanesville died at 8:45 p.m. Monday, August 19, 2002 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital.

She was born July 19, 1963 at Zanesville, a daughter of Steven J. & Judy Mason Appleman of Zanesville. She was employed at Muskingum Area Technical College as a text book buyer.

Surviving in addition to her parents, is her husband, Douglas A. Stemm of the home, two daughters; Shauna & Samantha Stemm both of South Zanesville. Two brothers; Joey & Jeff Appleman both of Zanesville, grandmother, Lela Mason of Zanesville.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Harold Mason.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2002 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 2002 with Rev. Mark Fulkerson officiating. Burial will follow at Duncan falls Cemetery, Duncan Falls, Ohio.

Ethel L. Henderson

Ethel L. Henderson, of New Concord, Ohio died at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August15,2002 at the Beckett House, New Concord, Ohio.

She was born in Falls Twp. the daughter of the late Henry & Lulu Oliver Orr. Mrs. Henderson attended the Conerstone Full Gospel Church.

Surviving are three daughters; Jane Cottrill of Zanesville, Pat and husband Ken Watson of Wadsworth Ohio, Kaye and husband Leonard Jordan of New Concord, four sisters; Opal Longley and Mary Applegate both of Zanesville, Florence Henderson of Charlotte N.C., Bonnie White of Racine Ohio, twelve grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Wilbert Earl Henderson,in 1985, and two sons, Dub Henderson and Dell Henderson.
No calling hours will be observed.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2002 at Zanesville Memorial Park with Pastor J. Stephen Harrop officiating. Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue entrusted with arrangements. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Cornerstone Full Gospel Church.

Henry A. "Hap" Anderson

Henry A. " Hap" Anderson, 91 of Zanesville, Ohio died at 1:00 a.m. August 9, 2002 at Genesis Bethesda Hospital.

He was born October 4, 1910 at Stafford, Ohio a son of the late William & Grace Wilson Anderson. He was owner & operator of The H.A. Anderson Painting & Decorating retiring in 1975. He was a member of Coburn United Methodist Church, Honor Lodge 726 F& AM, Zanesville Chapter #9 Royal Arch Masons, Zanesville Council # 12, Cyrene Commandery # 10 Knights Templar, Scottish Rite Masonry, Zavi Shrine Club, Aladdin Temple Shrine, Elks Lodge, BPOE # 114.

Surviving are one daughter; Linda ( John )  Taylor of Zanesville, two grandchildren; Jeffrey M.  Taylor & Maredith L.  Taylor both of Columbus, Ohio, Step-daughter, Marilyn ( Case) Loos, of Sarasota, Fla., one brother; Roy Anderson of Cincinnati, Ohio, three nieces & a nephews; Diane Snyder, Lynne Sprague, Helena Pieratt, & John Anderson. He was preceded in death in addition to his parents, his first wife, Thea G. Anderson, his second wife, Roberta " Dolly" Anderson, brother, Warren Anderson.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, August 18, 2002 and from 10:00 a.m. till service time Monday at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, where services will be held at 11:00 AM with Rev. Webster Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park . Honor Lodge will hold services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Crohn's & Colitis Foundation C/O Childrens Hospital,Columbus, Ohio.

Alfred E. Agin

Alfred E. Agin Jr., 65, of Zanesville, Ohio died Friday, August 9, 2002 at his residence.

He was born May 30, 1937 in Zanesville a son of the late Alfred E. Sr. & Mary E. Wright Agin. He was a self-employed laborer.

Surviving is a good friend Opal Schneider of Zanesville, Ohio.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2002 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2002 with Rev. Alexander McDougall officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery, near Sonora.

Robert " Bob" H. Spiker
Robert "Bob" Hayes Spiker, age 65, of Zanesville, Ohio, died at 2:40 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2002 at his residence.

He was born September 1, 1936, the son of the late Warren and Dora Lacy Spiker. Mr. Spiker owned and operated the Spiker Insurance Agency Inc. for 39 years and the Ann-Renees of Dresden, Ohio. He was a 1954 graduate of the  Jefferson High School in Dresden and a member of the Masonic Lodge of Amity # 5 F & AM.

Surviving is his wife Judith Ann Armbrust Spiker of the home, two sons; Robert Alan and wife Darla Spiker of Suffock VA., Robert Alan & wife Connie Nutter of Zanesville, two daughters,Teena and husband Mark Gainor of Lebanon, Ohio, Sharon and husband Dana Erichsen of Zanesville, one brother; Richard Spiker of Dresden, and nine grandchildren.

Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 13,2002 at the Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, and one hour prior to the service at 11:00 a.m.Wednesday, August 14, 2002 at the Market St. Baptist Church, 6th Street, Zanesville with the Rev. Scott Johnston officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.

Paul M. Meyer
Paul M. Myer, age 80, of Zanesville, Ohio died at 1:13 a.m. Saturday, August 10, 2002 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital.

He was born December 16, 1921 in Zanesville, the son of the late Henry E. & Nellie McKibben Meyer. Mr. Meyer was a self employed carpenter, a faithful member of the Cornerstone Full Gospel Church. He was very active in Missionary work in Argentina,Guatemala, Nicaragua, Mexico, and the western U. S. Mr. Meyer was an Army veteran of World War II..

Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Helen I. Rittberger Meyer of the home, one daughter; Irene M. Meyer of Columbus, one son; Bill Meyer of Zanesville, one brother; Donald G. Meyer of Marietta, three grandchildren; Kristee Kelly and husband Dave of CA.,Troy Meyer and wife Sandi of CA., Chad Meyer of Zanesville,two great grandchildren,Payden Kelly and Hailey Meyer, both of CA. and his true feline friend Tiger.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Elizabeth Meyer and his loyal black Lab Bo.

Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 12, 2002 at the Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday August 13, 2002 with Rev. J. Stephen Harrop and Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.

Ralph E. "Dreamer" Mills
Ralph E. "Dreamer" Mills, age 78, of Zanesville, Ohio, died at 11:45 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2002 at the Genesis Hospice Morrison House.

He was born March 25, 1924 at Zanesville, Ohio, the son of the late Albert and Clara Mills. Mr. Mills retired from the shipping department at Armco Steel in 1986.He was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Mills was a member of the Armco Veterans Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, and the Eagles.

Surviving are his step-daughter Brenda Stalnaker, of Zanesville, his sister Lucille Bowers of Zanesville, 2 grandchildren Lisa Nader of Dresden, and Troy Mills of Frazeysburg, a special nephew Billy Deal of South Zanesville, 2 nephews Jim Deal of Powell, and Chuck Deal of Zanesville, and several other nieces and nephews, a special friend Danny Rapol of Zanesville, 5 great-grandchildren, and several nieces.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Emma Jean (McConnell) Mills, his son Jeffrey Mills, 4 brothers and 1 sister.

Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday August 10, 2002 at the Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, where services will be held 10 AM Monday with William L. Meage officiating. Burial will follow at the Zanesville Memorial Park. VFW George Selsam Post 1058 will hold military services at the gravesite. The Fraternal Order of Eagles will hold services 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Wilber D. Smith

Wilber D. Smith, age 74, of Gratiot, Ohio, died at 12:26 p.m. Thursday August 8, 2002 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital.

He was born March 17, 1928, in Roseville, Ohio the son of the late Wilbur Harry and Thelma Besser Smith. Mr. Smith was a meat cutter at the old David Davies, Krogers, and retired 1990 at the Carl Rittberger Sr. Meats. He was a veteran of the Korean War.

Surviving is his wife, Rosemarie Kranz Smith,whom he married August 23, 1975, of the home, four daughters; Deborah (Larry) Williams of Arlene, AL., Karen (Richard) Gillogly of Gratiot, Joyce (John) Winkle of Zanesville, and Rebecca Gillogly of Zanesville, one son, Brian D. (Janice) Brown of Columbus, and four grandchildren

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son William Griffin, and his 1st wife Betty Perone.

Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Friday August 9,2002 at the Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2002 with Rev. Carol Tong officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Fork Cemetery, Gratiot, Ohio with VFW George Selsam Post 1058 holding military services at the gravesite.
