Virginia A. Adrean

Virginia A. Adrean, nee: Popp, age 89, of Elyria, Ohio, died Tuesday November 19, 2002, at the Elyria United Methodist Village where she had been a resident since 1989. She was born February 8, 1913 in Zanesville Ohio the daughter of the late Fred & Bessie Fouts Popp. Mrs. Adrean lived most of her life in the Malta and Mc Connelsville areas. She was employed as a cook at the Mark Rest Home in Mc Connelsville, retiring 1978.She enjoyed crocheting and
sewing and was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Elyria, Ohio.

Surviving are nieces, Glana Earnest of Dayton, Carolyn Guss, of Upper Arlington, nephew, Ray Adrean of Mabank TX.,great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard W. Adrean, (1976), by a sister Verna Hammer, a brother Carl Popp, and a niece Sarah France (8/23/2002).

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, November 22, 2002 at the Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville, with the Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery Zanesville.

Gladys L. Polanski

Gladys L. Polanski, age 90, of Zanesville, Ohio, died at 12:50 PM Tuesday November 19, 2002, at the Willow Haven Nursing Home. She was born May 22, 1912, in Zanesville, the daughter of the late Dewey & Kathryn McCourtney Hutchison.

Mrs. Polanski was a member of the St Thomas Catholic Church, member of the Daughters of Isabella and Knights of Columbus Auxillary.

Surviving are one daughter Camille (Howard) Hulen of Sapulpa OK., four step grandchildren and twelve step great grandchildren.

A mass of the Christian burial will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, November 21, 2002, at the St Thomas Catholic Church with Father Jordan McConway as celebrant. Burial will be at Mt Olive Cemetery. Friends may call 8:30 am till 10:00 am Thursday at the Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave. Zanesville.

Evelith A. Knight

Evelith A. Knight, 77 of Mt. Vernon, Ohio died at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at Adams Lane Care Center, Zanesville. She was born January 19, 1925 in Columbus, Ohio a daughter of the late Albert & Evelith Livingston Roehenbeck. She was a retired seamstress and
was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church. She was a volunteer at Knox Community Hospital.

She is survived by two sons, Robert ( Sandra) Knight of Zanesville & Mark Knight of Blue Rock, three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents, her first husband, Curtis K. Knight, her second husband, Lawrence Kessler and one brother, Albert Roehenbeck.

No calling hours will be observed, a caring cremation has taken place. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 22, 2002 at St. Vincent's Catholic Church, Mt. Vernon, Ohio with Father Ted Thomas as celebrant. Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville entrusted with arrangements.

Donald McPherson

Donald B. McPherson, age 74, of Zanesville, Ohio died at 10:10 AM Monday,
November18, 2002 at the Adams Lane Care Center. He was born May 14, 1928 in Zanesville Ohio the son of the late Burhl & Lillian May Hillard McPherson.

Mr. McPherson was a retired employee of the Racine Hydraulics Co., a Korean Army Veteran and a baptist by faith.

Surviving are two brothers, Paul McPherson and Raymond McPherson, both of
Zanesville, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death
by three brothers, Earl, Charlie, and Harold McPherson.

No calling hours will be observed. A caring cremation has taken place with burial at a later date at Washington Twp Baptist Cemetery.

The Bolin Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.

Ruth J. Osborne

Ruth J. Osborne, 68 of Zanesville, died at 7:00 a.m. Thursday, November 14, 2002 at her home. She was born June 17, 1934 in Marietta, Ohio a daughter of the late Jesse & Ruth Nellie Menke McAtee. She retired after 25 years of service as a supervisor for the Department of Jobs & Family Services. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Gary Osborne of the home, daughter, Jackie ( Mike) Malenda of Chandlersville, son, Greg ( Debbie) Osborne of Des Moines, Iowa, seven grandchildren, Jessica Stephenson, Malissa Stephenson, Scott Malenda, Lisa Morris & Erin Malenda; four great
grandchildren, Jacob Malenda, Haley Malenda, Kendall Morris & Jenna Morris.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Candy Osborne.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2002. A caring cremation will take place after visitation. Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville.

Thelma Gibbons Moorhead

Thelma R. Gibbons Moorhead age 79, of Zanesville, Ohio, died at 5:48 p.m. Thursday November 7, 2002 at the Celebration Health Florida Hospital at Orlando, FL. She was born September 12, 1923 in Zanesville, Ohio the daughter of the late W . Harley & Emma C. Lucas Gibbons. Mrs. Moorhead was the former Administrator at the Abbot Home for Men,a member of the Central Presbyterian Church, Past Worthy Matron of the Order of
Eastern Star Laura Chapter # 264, a Grand Representive of the Rosa Shrine # 8, White Shrine of Jerusalem, and a member of the Ladies Auxillary Fraternal Order of Elks Lodge # 114

Surviving are her adopted family, Ron & Jill Pratt and family of Zanesville.

Besides her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband Karl T. Moorhead, July 24, 2001.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Friday November 15, 2002 at Bolin Funeral Home,1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville with the Rev. William Briggs officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. Friday till service time.

Billy D. Merkle

Billy D. Merkle, 62 of Zanesville, died at 9:06 p.m. Friday, Novemebr 8, 2002 at ODC Nursing Home. He was born December 14, 1939 in Zanesville to Loretha Welker Merkle of Zanesville and the late William L. Merkle.

Surviving in addition to his mother, one sister, Shirley Luburgh; three nephews, Mark Luburgh, Matt Luburgh, and Curt ( Dee) Luburgh, all of Zanesville and several great nieces & nephews.

No calling hours will be observed. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2002 at Otsego Methodist Cemetery, Otsego, Ohio with Dr. Michael Donnally officiating. Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville entrusted with arrangements.

Mary A. Mangold

Mary A. Mangold, 56 of Roseville died at 9:02 p.m. Thursday, November 7, 2002 at Genesis Bethesda Hospital. She was born April 20, 1946 in Boyd Co. KY., a daughter of the late Oscar Rose & Elizabeth Hackworth Fuller. She was an assembler at United Technologies.

Surviving is her husband, George Mangold; two sons, Jason (Marie) Mangold of North Ft. Myers, Fla, Benjamin ( Celina) Mangold of Roseville, Ohio; three daughters, Danielle ( Jerry) Scurlock of Cambridge, Ohio, Lisa ( Tommy) Evans of Zanesville, Ohio, & Theresa ( Rick) Franklin of Las Vegas, Nev.; 22 grandchildren; three brothers, Steve ( Sandy) Rose of Ashland, KY, Jim ( Ann) Rose of North Carolina, & Charles ( Tracey) Fuller of Charleston, WV; one sister, Amy ( Gary) McCormick of Ashland, KY.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by one granddaughter, Tierra Mangold.

Friends may call from 12:00 noon Monday, November 11, 2002 till service time at 2:00 p.m. at Brighton Free Methodist Church, 607 Brighton Blvd with Pastor Steve Neville officiating. Graveside Services will be held at 1;00 p.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens, Ashland, KY. Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio entrusted with arrangements.

William C. Jewell

William C. Jewell, 79 of Zanesville died at 10:30 a.m. Sunday November 3, 2002 at Genesis Hospice, Morrison House. He was born November 8, 1922 at Martins Ferry, the son of the late Cleiton T. & Beulah Rowley Jewell. He was the administrator for several rehab services, member of Peace Lutheran Church in Sparta, Michigan, and a World War II Navy Veteran, He
belonged to several occupational organizations and was a former member of numerous Bulldog clubs.

Surviving is his loving companion, Eleanor Garrison of the home, two daughters, Donna Edwards of Kent City, Michigan, Kathy ( Dean) Stillion of Zanesville; five grandchildren, Dan Edwards of Atlanta, Georgia, Steve & Holly Edwards of Kent City, Michigan, Josh & Kaitlyn Stillion of Zanesville; one great grandson, Christopher Edwards of Kent City, Michigan; sister,
Dorothy Rice of St. Clairsville; several nieces & nephews, numerous Bulldog friends and his three loving Bulldogs, Tom, Sally & Dooley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Virginia Jewell who died July 22, 1977 and one sister, Lois Herman.

A caring cremation has taken place. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2002 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville till service time, where Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. John Edwards officiating.

Kenneth W. Hunt

Kenneth W. Hunt, 70, of Zanesville, Ohio died at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2002 at his residence. He was born August 9, 1932 in Muskingum County, a son of the late Wilfred W. & Florence Simpson Hunt. He was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, a member of the Toboso United Church of the Nazarene, and a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by three daughters, Gina ( Larry) Bobo of Zanesville, Lori ( Donald) Rapol of Roseville, & Angela Donohoe of Zanesville; one son, Jeffrey Hunt of New Lebanon, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Hope & Joshua Hunt, Tyler Bobo, Cody Rapol, Ashley, Tiffany, Duane Jr. & Joshua Eddy; two sisters, Bernadine Donaldson & Mildred Robinson both of Zanesville.

Friends may call from 2-4& 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 31, 2002 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 1, 2002 with Rev. Ray Amore & Rev. Chester Sidle officiating. Burial will follow at Hanover Cemetery.
