Alberta M. Brady

Alberta M. Brady, age 79, of Zanesville, Ohio was called to her heavenly father at 3:00 a.m. Thursday October 24, 2002 at Genesis Morrison House. She was born December 12, 1922 at Blackville, New Brunswick, Canada to the late parents Ernest and Catherine Washburn Brennan.
Alberta was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her past interest included bowling, golf, square and line dancing and lovingly enhancing the lives of those around her. She was a member of the St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Fraternal Order of Elks Lodge # 114 Auxillary, and the Margaret Blue CCL.

Surviving are her husband, John E. (Jack) Brady whom she married October 1, 1947, two daughters, Kathy (Jeff )Shawger and Beth (Tom) Brandon; one son Jack (Holly) Brady all of Zanesville.She also will be watching over her ten grandchildren,Chad (Jane) Shawger, Kyle Shawger and Ashley Shawger, Erin (Shane) VanDusen, Josh Brandon, and Krista Brandon, Ryan Roush,and Matt, Sean,and Samantha Brady. Also survived by two great grandchildren,
Alyssa and Katie Mae Shawger; five sisters in-law, Mildred O'Hara, Gracie Argenio, Shirley Selberg, Rene Brennan, Dorothy Brennan and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents,she was preceded in death by seven brothers, Weldon, Ernest, Morrissey, Crumley, Hazen, Bernard and Barry Brennan.
Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday October 27,2002 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave, Zanesville, Ohio, with a Christian Vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Sunday by Rev. Mr. B. N. Peterson. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday October 28, 2002 at St Nicholas Catholic Church with Father Charles Klinger as celebrant. Burial will follow at
Zanesville Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice, Morrison House or to the American Diabetes. Association.

Marjorie Woodford

Marjorie A. Woodford, age 77, of St Mary's, WV., died at 10:00 a.m. Monday October 21, 2002 at her residence.

She was born October 30,1924 in Cambridge, Ohio the daughter of the late John & Jennie Slasor Black. Mrs. Woodford was a former employee of NCR at Cambridge Ohio and a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

Surviving is her daughter, Nancy (David) Smith of St Mary's,WV.; one granddaughter, Shelly Buzzard of St Mary's, WV.; two great granddaughters Brittnay and Kylee Buzzard of St Mary's, WV.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles R. Woodford, who died June of 1996.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday October 24, 2002 at Zanesville Memorial Park with Pastor Keith A. Lingsch officiating. Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville entrusted with arrangements.

Nellie I. Thompson
Nellie I. Thompson, 87 of Ft. Myers, Florida died at 12:05 a.m. Monday, October 21, 2002 at Hope Hospice, South, Ft. Myers Florida.

She was born May 14, 1915 at Somerset, Ohio a daughter of the late Nathaniel & Sara Saum Rinehart. She was a member of Washington Twp.Baptist Church.

Surviving is one daughter, Phyllis Fenwick of Ft. Myers, Florida; Two grandchildren; Jeffrey ( Kibbye) Fenwick & Douglas Fenwick both of Jackson, Ohio.Two great grandchildren, Danielle & Tara Fenwick, one brother, Donald Rinehart of Henderson, Texas ; one sister, Mabel Baughman of Zanesville.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents, by her husband, Charles Thompson, and two brothers.

No calling hours will be observed. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2002 at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Roy Keyser officiating. Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville entrusted with arrangements.

Harold O. Lowther
Harold O. Lowther, 81, of Zanesville passed away at 6:20 a.m. Monday, October 21, 2002. He was a loving and devoted husband and father.

He was born October 5, 1921 at Spencer, West Virginia to the late Clarence and Sarah Mendenhall Lowther.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Knaup Lowther of the home who he married April 23, 1945; two sons, Randy (Dottie) Lowther and Dan ( Judy) Lowther, both of Zanesville; four grandchildren, Brian ( Nicci) Lowther, Emily, Zackery and Stephanie; two sisters, Pauline Thomas of Dresden and Dorothy Smith of Zanesville; one brother Paul Lowther of Zanesville.

Mr. Lowther was a past master of Malta Lodge # 118 F&AM. He was a member of the Sonora United Methodist Church where he served many years as trustee. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite of Cambridge, Zanesville Royal Arch Masons # 9, Laura Chapter # 264 O.E.S., Amrou Grotto # 45, American Legion Post 29, VFW George Selsam Post 1058. He served in the
U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Lexington During World War Two. He retired from the Engineering-Maintenance Department of Good Samaritan Hospital.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2002 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 24, 2002 with Rev. Ray Yody officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery, Sonora. Masonic Services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and VFW George Selsam Post 1058 will military rites at the grave.

Linda S. Plummer Luca

Linda S. Plummer Luca, age 61, of Zanesville, Ohio, died at 12:35 p.m. Friday October 18, 2002 at the OSU Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.

She was born February 10, 1941 in Zanesville, the daughter of Alene Pickrell Plummer and the late Gaylon Plummer. Ms. Luca was the Director of the Adult Basic Literacy Education Program, a member of the Trinity United Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir,a Past Worthy Matron of OES # 79, a member of the Ohio Association for Adult & Continuing
Education, Member of the Commission on Adult Basic Education, member of the Muskingum Co. Literacy Council and served as a board member of the Goodwill Industries.

Surviving is her mother Alene Pickrell Plummer, of Zanesville; two daughters, Mindy (Tim) Patterson of Granville, Amanda Luca of Long Beach CA.; two sons, Ralph (Angela) Luca of San Antonio TX, and Samuel (Kimberly) Luca of Sugar Grove; one brother Timothy G. Plummer of Beavercreek, six grandchildren, Kaylan, Matthew and Jonathan Patterson, Sean & Erin Phelan & Zoe Luca.

Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Monday October 21, 2002 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave, Zanesville, and from 9:00 a.m. till service time at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday October 22 at the Trinity United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Alex McDougal officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.

Ronald Clement Morrison

Ronald Clement Morrison, age 70, of Zanesville, Ohio, died at 4:50 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2002 at the Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital.

He was born June 22, 1932 in Zanesville, the son of the late Ray & Lola Humphrey Morrison. Mr. Morrison was a Mould Inspector at the Anchor Glass Co. retiring June 8, 1993. He was a veteran of the Korean War,a member of the VFW George Selsam Post 1058, and a member of
the AFL-CIO Local 520.

Surviving is his wife Evelyn Jean Grosscup Morrison whom he married February 16, 1953, five daughters; Mindie (Grendel) Scott of Philo, Theresa (Jamie) Osborne of Zanesville, Amy (George) Mangle of Zanesville, Kacy (Jeffrey) Wilkins of Zanesville, and Rhonda (Bryan) Lowry of Norwich, three sons; Ronald (Karen) Morrison, Vincent (Kelly) Morrison, and Ray
(Edie) Morrison, all of Zanesville, two brothers; Clarence (Margie) Morrison of Zanesville, & Bryce Morrison of New Lexington, twenty eight grandchildren & ten great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Joseph Morrison.

Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday October 17, 2002 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday October 18, 2002 with Pastor Vernon Small officiating. Burial will follow at Veterans Memorial Gardens at Greenwood Cemetery with VFW George Selsam Post 1058 holding military services at the gravesite.

Constance J. Hughes
Constance J. Hughes, 75, went to be with the Lord at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2003 at Genesis Hospice- Morrison House. She was born April 3, 1927 a daughter of the late Thelma Carr Cherry. She was a member of Woodlawn Avenue Church of Christ. She had worked for Brockway Glass, Rittberger Bro's Meats, and was a clerk for Zanesville News.

Surviving are brother, Joe Shotts of Zanesville, sister, Dolores " Dee" ( Homer) Stiles of Zanesville; three nieces, Teresa Roberts, Tammy ( Randy ) Hambel both of Zanesville, & Julie ( Thomas) Clark of Lexington, KY; nephew, Joe ( Susan ) Shotts of Zanesville; five great nieces and one great nephew; two step-daughters; Carolyn Hughes of Zanesville and Carla Wilson of Florida.

Besides her mother she was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Hughes who died in 1964.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2003 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 7, 2003 with Mr. Rod Stockdale officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.

Rev. George Turner
The Rev. George H. Turner, age 80, of Zanesville, Ohio went to be with his Lord & Saviour surrounded by his family at 1:10 PM Monday February 3, 2003 at the Sunnyview Nursing Home. Rev. Turner was born August 27, 1922 at Chickamauga Ga. the son of the late George H. and Jessie Wheeler Turner Sr. He was a retired Pastor and School teacher having taught at the Lakeview High School at Rossville GA, the Adamsville High School,Roosevelt Jr. High and then Zanesville High School. Rev. Turner was ordained as a minister in 1947 and pastored several churchs in KY.,TN.,GA.,MS. OH. and served as former pastor at the Zanesville Baptist Church and the Southside Baptist Church as well as interim Pastor of the Fair Oaks Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Campbellsville University at Campbellsville KY and a graduate of Union University at  Jackson TN. He served as President of the Baptist Student Union at Union University and Campbellsville University,attended the New Orleans  Louisiana Baptist Theological Semenary.He served as principal of the Magoffin Baptist Institute at Mountain Valley KY. Rev. Turner was a member of the First Baptist Church in Zanesville and was the co-founder of the Muskingum Valley Baptist Association.

Surviving is his wife, Mary Evelyn Sisney Turner of the home, two daughters, Faythya Buchanan and Georgeann Swope, both of Zanesville, one son, Philip W. (Vickie) Turner of Hopewell, one sister Betty Hegwood of LaFayette GA., grandchildren and several nieces and nephews

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Thelma Ford and six brothers, J. D. Turner, Eugene Turner, Raymond Turner, Matthew Turner, Roy W, Turner and Charles H. Turner.

Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2003 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave. Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2003 at First Baptist Church, 105 South 6th St. Zanesville, with Rev. Peter S. Mathewson and Rev. Barry Knaub officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to funeral services at the church. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Gloria J. James

Gloria J. James, 66, of Zanesville died at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 3, 2003 at her home. She was born November 3, 1936 in Muskingum County, a daughter of the late Denzel & Margaret McCoid Roberts.

Surviving are her husband, Glen L. James, whom she married October 13, 1951, of the home; four daughters, Glenna ( Mark) Everett of Newcomerstown, Pamela McDole of Zanesville, Gloria ( Tim) Dalessandri of Pittsburgh, PA, & Lori ( Keith) Tilton of Zanesville; Five sons, Keith James & Fiancee' Pamela Swingle of Philo, Dan ( Tina) James of Duncan Falls, Russell James of Zanesville, Doug ( Bev) James of Wilmington, & John ( Jill ) James of Zanesville; Four sisters, Martha Sidwell of Thornville, Ruth ( John ) Minosky of Zanesville, Delores ( Ronnie ) Thompson of Zanesville, & Theresa Schiele of Lima; two brothers, William Roberts of Cumberland and Joe ( Loretta ) Roberts of Zanesville, twenty grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Also special family members, Dick James, Cindy Perry, Marlene Huffman, and
Ruth Wright.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Bonnie Stouder, one great grandson, mother& father-in-law, Gilbert & Elizabeth James, son-in-law, Gary McDole, three brothers-in- law, Robert Bland, John James & Theodore Sidwell.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2003 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 6, 2003 with Rev. John Sensabaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
