Helen Wallace

Helen L. Wallace, 89, of Zanesville, Ohio, died at 6:15 p.m. Sunday, May 11, 2003 at the Helen Purcell Home. She was born December 18, 1913, in Lancaster Ohio, the daughter of the late William B. and Minnie M. Williamson Casner. Mrs. Wallace was a retired Claims Examiner of the Bureau of Workers Compensation, a member of the First United Methodist Church, Past Worthy Matron of OES Chapter # 485 and Rosa Shrine White Shrine of Jerusalem # 8.

Surviving are her two step sons, John W. and wife Joanne Wallace of Jacksonville FL.,and Bernard L. and wife Sharon Wallace of Columbus Oh., brother Paul F. Casner of Zanesville, a sister in-law, Betty Casner of Zanesville, three nieces and one nephew, seven step grandchildren and twelve step great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Wallace who died February 22, 1964, by her brother Earl W. Casner, by step grandchildren, Randy and Cyndy Wallace.

Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2003 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at the funeral home with Rev. Ruby Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park. OES Chapter # 485 will hold services at the funeral home at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care,713 Forest Ave.,Zanesville, Ohio, 43701-9963.

William Hal ( Pete ) Kincaid

William Hal (Pete) Kincaid, age 69, of Zanesville, Ohio, died at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2003 at his residence. He was born November 24, 1933 in Zanesville, the son of the late Glenn and Adalene L. Tanner Hardman. Mr. Kincaid was a former game warden for the State of Ohio and also served in the Game Management Section for the state. He was noted for his love and knowledge of nature and the outdoors. He was a prolific writer for the Times Recorder Letters to the Editor and Guest Editorials, and contributed many articles to the Marion Star, Chandlersville Courier and the REA Magazine. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Seabee's.

Surviving are two daughters, Kelly Lynn  Jackson of Zanesville and Terri Susan Annicchiarico of CA.; a son Donald Brook Kincaid of CA.; a half sister, Helen Jean Shaffner of Redding, CA., several grandchildren and many special friends including Ray and Chris Gurnick of Olmsted Ohio.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandfather William Hal Tanner, who was the Chief of the Zanesville Fire Department for 42 years.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday May 12, 2002 at the Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave. Zanesville, with Sister Nadine Overbeck officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 am till service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Williams Cemetery with V.F.W. George Selsam Post 1058 holding military services at the gravesite.

Harold Douglas Foster

Harold Douglas Foster, 47 of Basket, Kentucky died at 4:08 a.m. Monday May 5, 2003 at Methodist Hospital, Henderson, Kentucky. He was born May 13, 1955 at Zanesville, Ohio a son of Betty Mitchell Maxwell and the late Harold H. Foster. He was employed as a Molder for the Gibbs Co and had worked in plastics for many years.

Surviving are his mother & step-father, Betty & Billy W. Maxwell of Philo, Ohio, sister, Debra ( Gary ) Dingey of Blue Rock, two nephews, Jason ( Jennifer) Dingey & Matthew ( Heather) Dingey both of Blue Rock, great niece Hannah Dingey of Blue Rock, step-sister, Carol ( John ) Bates of Zanesville, two step-brothers, Billy W. Maxwell Jr. of Columbus and Thomas (Carole) Maxwell of Lancaster, special cousin, Valli ( Randy ) Kirkbride of South Zanesville, several aunts, uncles & cousins.

Besides his father he was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Logan & Sophia Mitchell and paternal grandparents, Presley & Amanda Foster.

No calling hours will be observed. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2003 at Duncan Falls Cemetery with Rev. Roy Keyser officiating. Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville entrusted with arrangements.

Harry T. ( Ted ) Denner

Harry T. (Ted) Denner, age 72, of Zanesville, Ohio,went to be with his Lord at 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2003 at the Sunnyview Nursing Home. He was born November 4, 1930 in Zanesville, the son of the late A. Fred and Marrianne L. Richardson Denner. He retired after 44 years as a manufacturing engineer with the Line Material,/McGraw Edison and Cooper Power Systems. Mr. Denner was a very active longtime devoted member of the Market St. Baptist Church, a member of the Masonic Lodge of Amity # 5 F & AM since 1962, a lifetime member of the Zanesville Charity Newsies and a member of the Central Ohio Woodturners.

Surviving are two daughters ans sons in-law,Chris and Dave Delancey of Zanesville and Kim and Bill Plank of Columbus, one brother and sister in-law, Fred & Helen Denner of Edinburg TX., one sister and brother in-law, Mary and Pat Jenkens of Kissimmee FL., a brother in-law David Tubbs of Columbus, four grandchildren, Trisha and Chris Steel of Ashland KY., Brian Donnelly of Zanesville, and Jed & Adam Plank, both of Columbus, OH., three great grandchildren, Caleb Miller,Logan Steel, and Kennah Donnelly.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sue Tubbs Denner who died July 31, 1999, and one grandson Bret Donnelly who died in 1977.

Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday May 8, 2003 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave. Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2003 at Bolin Funeral Home with the Rev. D. Scott Johnston officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.

Margaret V. Sisson

Margaret V. Sisson, age 75, of Roseville, Ohio, died at 2:31 p.m. Wednesday April 30, 2003 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born February 15, 1928 in Licking County,the daughter of the late Trubert and Nancy Davis Flowers.

Surviving are her daughter, Debra (James) Hunkins of Roseville,two sons, Thomas L. Ridenour of Bali Indonesia, and William Sisson Jr. of Columbus, Ohio, one sister Nellie (Albert) Parrill of Nashport, Oh., and one brother Arthur (Dorothy) Flowers of Newark, Oh., nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Besides her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband William E. Sisson, who died January19, 2001, by three sisters, Dolly Romine, Ruth  Johnson and Bertha Flowers, and by two brothers George Flowers and Charles Flowers.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday May 3, 2003 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave. Zanesville, Ohio, with Chaplin Vernon Small officiating. Friends may call 11:00 a.m. till service time. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.

E. C. (Mac) McPherson

E. C.(Mac) McPherson, age 88, of Zanesville, Ohio, died at 5:30 AM Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at his residence. He was born July 24, 1914, in Black Water VA. the son of the late Ewing and Bower Robinette McPherson. Mr. McPherson owned and operated coal mines in Ky. and TN. before moving to Ohio and then owned and operated the Monroe Coal Company at Otsego Ohio. In 1997 he retired from the United Waste Systems as a Regional Representive. Mr. McPherson was a member of the Zanesville Kiwanis Club,the Grace United Methodist Church, a life member of the Coshocton Elks Club, a 62 year member of the Masonic Blue Lodge # 343 F& AM, Chapter Masonic Lodge of Pleasant City, Ohio,Scottish Rite of Roanake Va.,Aladdin Temple,Zavi Shrine and Amrou Grotto Lodge # 45.

Surviving are his wife, Rose Drake McPherson,(married 1970),two daughters, Anna Gene (Bill) Barnes of Lake Anna Va.,Susan Finger of Kingston TN.,one son, Fred (Debbie) McPherson of Kingston TN.,three step sons, Steve (Becky) Matchett of Pleasantville, Oh., John Matchett and Marvin (Candace) Matchett, both of Coshocton Oh.,two sisters,Della Kibler of Louisville Ky.,and Virginia Johnson, of Portland ORE.,two brothers, Ewing W. McPherson of Nashville, TN., and Ralph McPherson of Kingsport TN.,four grandsons, Bill Barnes and Scott Barnes, and Joey McPherson and Danny Guile,three step grandsons, Scott Matchett,J. D. Matchett and Cameron Matchett,one step grand daughter, Jamie Matchett, five great grandchildren and two
step great grandsons. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a step grandson Curtis Matchett, two sisters, Leola Young and Bertha Mae Eaton.

Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 Thursday, May 1st, 2003 at the Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave. Zanesville, Ohio. Masonic Lodge of Amity will hold services at 6:00 PM Thursday May 1st at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Friday May 2, 2003 at the Bolin Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Michael Donnally officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church.

Ronald L. Stoops

Ronald L. Stoops, 56 of Zanesville, died at 12:15 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2003 at his home. He was born January 3, 1947 at Zanesville, Ohio a son Lenora K. Ross Stoops and the late Charles I. Stoops. He was a Truck Driver for Alvan Motor Freight, member of Lafayette Lodge # 79 F& AM, Muskingum Co. Association of Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Masons, Amrou Grotto # 45, Zavi Shrine, Aladdin Shrine and Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, and was a former member of the Goldwing Road Riders Association.. Ronald enjoyed outside activities where he especially enjoyed camping, planting flowers and spending time with his granddaughter.

Surviving are his mother, Lenora K. Ross Stoops of Zanesville; his wife, Bonnie J. Stafford Stoops, whom he married August 25, 1986; two daughters, Abbi ( Scott Shaw ) Stoops and Patricia Stoops both of Zanesville; Two brothers, Rodney ( Doris ) Stoops of Newark and Richard ( Cyndie ) Stoops of Denver, Colorado; one granddaughter, Ava Shaw of Zanesville and numerous Aunts, Uncles, nieces & nephews and friends.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Clarence Dinnen officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery, Sonora. LaFayette Lodge # 79 will hold masonic services at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Audrey Jean Young Thorburn

Audrey Jean Young Thorburn, 76, of Zanesville, Ohio died at 3:38 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2003 at Genesis Bethesda Hospital, Zanesville. She was born April 21, 1927 a daughter of the late James L. & Leona M. Anthony Young. She graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.S. in Social Administration, then did post graduate work at Bowling Green State University and received a Masters Degree from The Ohio State University. She retired as an Assistant Professor at Muskingum Area Technical College, was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church, having served as a Deacon, member of the choir and the Rebekah Circle. She dearly loved her family who were the most important thing in her life.

Surviving are her husband, Paul Neff Thorburn whom she married September 11, 1949 of the home, three daughters, Jean ( Sam ) Lebold of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Susan ( Dave ) Foster of Zanesville, Ohio, and Janet ( Shigeru ) Mori of Oak Brook, Ill.; Seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Matthew, & Joshua Lebold, Chad & Clayton Foster, Kevin & Aimee Mori; one sister, Nancy ( William ) Murphy of Arcadia, California; one brother, James ( Marilyn ) Young of Dublin, Ohio.

A caring cremation has taken place.The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio and one hour prior to services at the church. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at the Trinity United Presbyterian Church, 830 military Road, Zanesville with Dr. Richard Boyer officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Scotch Ridge Cemetery, Martins Ferry, Ohio with Rev. William Webster officiating.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Trinity United Presbyterian Church, 830 military Road, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.

Edna M. Greenawalt

Edna Mae Craig Greenawalt, 79, of Zanesville died at 3:35 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2003 at her residence. She was born February 10, 1924 in Ada,  Oklahoma a daughter of the late James W. & Mary Forsythe Craig. She was the retired owner & operator of Dozer's Bar, was a past member of the American legion Ladies Auxillary.

She is survived by a sister, Dollie Bassett of Gahanna, many nieces & nephews, and numerous friends.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Greenawalt, who died in 1979, three brothers, Raymond, Harry & R.D. Craig, one sister, Lucille Craig Weaver.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 24 with Rev. John Earhart officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery in Caldwell.

George H. Kreager

George H. Kreager, 86, of Zanesville, died at 10:10 a.m., Friday, April 18, 2003, at his residence. 1916, in Falls Twp., the son of the late Ralph Tanner and Hallie Montgomery Kreager. He was a farmer and carpenter and a 65-year member of the Finley United Methodist Church where he served as a Sunday school superintendent for many years. He was a former member of the Timber Run Grange where he served as master and also a former member of the Muskingum County Farm Bureau.
Surviving are his wife, Wilma George Kreager, whom he married April 15, 1950, of the home; one daughter, Susan (Larry) Ballantine, of New Concord; two sons, Carl Keith (Gayle) Kreager and Kelvin (Patricia) Kreager, both of Zanesville; six grandchildren, Molly and Abby Kreager; Brittany and Jenna Kreager; and Kyle and Christopher Ballantine; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., where services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday with the Rev. Charles (Chuck) Norris and the Rev. Roger McElfresh officiating. Burial will follow at Timber Run Cemetery.
