Gilbert O. "Bill" Lyons

Gilbert O. (Bill) Lyons, age 87, of Zanesville, Ohio, went to be with his Lord at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at his residence. He was born September 16, 1916, in Akron, Ohio, the son of the late Lynn B. and Josephine Stillons Lyons. Mr. Lyons was a retired machinist at Racine Hydraulics, attended the Washington Twp Baptist Church, and was a World War II Army Veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Betty M. Secrest Lyons, whom he married April 17, 1937, two daughters, Carolyn J. (Gerald) Prouty of Norwich, Nancy J. (Gary) Kearns of Naples Fla., two sons, Stanley H. (Phyllis) Lyons of Zanesville, G. D. (Debbie) Lyons of Zanesville, sister, Ruth Irene Vincent of Hopewell, fifteen grandchildren, Susan Geifer, Joyce Schneider, Gregory Prouty, Jane Prouty, Laurie Wisnefski, Lester Prouty, Timothy Prouty, Alan Prouty, Lynn Kearns, Steve Lyons, Micki Curry, Lisa Knox, Perry Daniels, Eric Daniels, Vikki Smith, David Lyons, and Matt Lyons and thirty great grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Richard Bruce Lyons, three sisters, Frances Campbell, Jeanette Gee, and Helen Lyons, three brothers, Wayne, Lynn, and Gene Lyons.

Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2003, at the Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave. Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2003, at the funeral home with Rev. Ralph Burwell officiating. Burial will follow at the Washington Twp Baptist Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care.

Clifford Glenn Corbin

Clifford Glenn Corbin, age 88, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away early Saturday
morning at his residence. He was born July 9, 1915, in Zanesville, the son of the late Clifford E. and Florence Corbin. Mr. Corbin was a retired mechanic and tow truck operator at Dutro Ford where he worked for over 30 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of the St Nicholas Catholic Church and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge # 302.

Surviving are a son and daughter in-law, Joe R. (Kristy) Corbin of Frazeysburg, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren, a special friend Wanda Brownfield and his faithful companion Buster.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Zigo Corbin, who died June 25, 1984, a son Steven Corbin, who died in 1968, four brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 3, 2003 at The Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2003 at The Bolin Funeral Home with the Rev. Mr. B. N. Peterson officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.

Otto E. Hampp

Otto E. Hampp, 91, of Zanesville, formerly of Old Coopermill Road, died at 7:35 a.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2003 at Genesis Bethesda Hospital. He was born November 1, 1911 at Bietigheim, Germany, a son of the late Frederick and Marie Mueller Hampp. Otto left Germany in 1922 at the age of eleven to come to the United States.He became a Watchman for Mosiac Tile and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a World War II Navy Veteran, and was a farmer for many years.

Surviving are his wife, Hilda L. Mason Hampp of Zanesville, son, Robert F. ( Keta ) Hampp of Duncan Falls, two daughters, Shirley M. Shipley of Roseville and Arlene Wortman of Adamsville, two sisters, Hedwig Bullerman of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Margaret F. Johnson.

Hiram Davidson

Hiram Robey Davidson, age 99, of Zanesville, was called Home to be with his Lord, February 4, 2004 at Genesis Extended Care.

Hiram was born January 16, 1905 in Belle Valley, Ohio. He retired as a self-employed TV Repairman, was a machinist at Mosaic Tile, owned and operated the Air Wood Motel. He was a member of Coburn Methodist Church and in 1967 transferred his membership to Maranatha Bible Church.

He is survived by one son, Don ( Pauline ) Davidson, of Evergreen, Colorado, three daughters, Beth ( John ) Norman, Marilyn ( Curt ) Soter, both of Zanesville and Sue ( Ron ) Geese of Reynoldsburg, Ohio. He has seven grandchildren, Tom ( Vanessa ) Ritchey, Theresa Ritchey, Tami ( Eric ) Elson, Scott Soter, Stacia ( Todd ) Mitchell, Claudia ( Rick ) Newman, and Cora Hartman; and eight great grandchildren.

Hiram was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Blanche Minerva Kinsey Davidson, on March 16, 2001, whom he married December 23, 1933, parents, Benjamin Franklin and Nina Davidson, a son Larry Alan Davidson ( age two ); two brothers, Kenneth and Robert Davidson, two sisters, Gayle Parker & Chloe Minnick.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday, February 8, 2004 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville and one hour prior to services on Monday. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 9, 2004 at Bolin Funeral Home with Pastor L. Dale McCallister officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park.

Ernest Tate

Ernest N. Tate, age 73, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away at 6:23 p.m. Monday, Feb 2, 2004 at his residence. He was born December 2, 1930, in Zanesville, Ohio the son of the late Rev. Ralph O. and Frances Norris Tate. Mr. Tate was a former employee at the Essex Wire Co. in Zanesville and a member of the Cornerstone Full Gospel Church.

Surviving are five daughters, Becki (Conrad) Krouskoupf of Zanesville, Judith (Larry) Work of Upper Arlington, Jennifer (Theodore) Gray of Canal Winchester, Rhonda Sue (Phillip) Norris of Zanesville, and Lori (Brian) Wickham of Pickerington, two sons, Jeffrey Tate of Columbus, and Johnny Tate of Fl., one sister Levina Smith of Zanesville, three brothers, James (Maxine) Tate of Columbus, Kenneth (Rowena) Tate of Columbus, and Glenwood (Irma) Tate of Nashport, thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Terry A. Tate, who passed away at birth.

Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at the Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2004 at the Bolin Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice and Palliative Care.

WILLIAM T. McPHERSON

William T. " Bill " McPherson, 49, of Patriot, Ohio died at 6:07 p.m.Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio. He was born March 27, 1954 at Zanesville a son of Patricia Moore McPherson Wyant of Deltona, Florida and the late William McPherson. He was the owner & operator of the McPherson Trucking.

Surviving in addition to his mother, is his wife, Mary K, Gard McPherson, whom he married July 30, 1977 of the home, two sons; Jason McPherson of Bidwell, Ohio and William C. " Billy " McPherson of the home, three brothers; Roger McPherson of Gallipolis, Chris McPherson of Zanesville and Alan Wyant of Deltona, Florida, three sisters; Sherry Heck of West Palm Beach, Florida, Jeannie Randell of Indiantowne, Florida and Mary Beth Husfeld of Deltona, Florida.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. till service time Monday, February 2, 2004 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Bolin Funeral Home with burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Roseville.

DOUGLAS B. SMITH

Douglas B. Smith, 61, of Zanesville died Thursday, January 29, 2004 at his home. He was born June 12, 1942 at Zanesville a son of Lura Ralph Smith of Zanesville and the late George Smith. He worked for the Times Recorder for 19 years as a mailroom foreman. He was a member of the Charity Newsies.

Surviving in addition to his mother, his wife, June Riffle Smith, whom he married September 9, 1980 of the home, four daughters; Debbie ( Rick Buck ) Sellars, Angie Smith, Heather ( Scott ) Hayes and Heidi ( Troy Murphy ) Smith all of Zanesville, two sons; Mike ( Brenda Chambers ) Smith and Jack ( Dawn ) Smith of Zanesville, step-son, John Searls of Utica, four sisters; Margaret ( Everett ) Guthrie, Linda Wheeler. Karen Clapper all of Zanesville, and Barbara Ann ( Robert) Norris of Zanesville, six brothers; Dave ( Nancy ) Smith of St. Mary?s, WV., Jack ( Irma ) Smith, Mike ( Myra ) Smith, Larry Smith, Roger Smith all of Zanesville and Robert ( Teri ) Smith of Newark, twelve grandchildren; Jesica Edgel, Gary Edgel, Twins David & Douglas Edgel, Chase Smith, Rylee Smith, Corey Smith, Nicholas Smith, Zoe Smith, Cody Murphy, Abby Murphy and Trent Murphy, several nieces & nephews and cousins.

Besides his father he was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Shanda Angelo.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2004 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 2004 with Rev.Tim Patton officiating. Entombment will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park

Janice J. Bednarczuk

Janice J. Bednarczuk, 76, of Zanesville, died at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2004 at Adams Lane Care Center. She was born October 26, 1927 at Zanesville a daughter of the late Harry E. & Elsie L. Spring McCloy. She was a homemaker and a beautician, a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, and enjoyed playing cards with her friends.

She is survived by son, Michael ( Helene ) Bednarczuk of Nashport, daughter, Rise ( John ) Bolen of Zanesville, grandchildren, Michael ( Mary jane ) Bednarczuk, Vincent Bednarczuk, Casey ( Jay ) Klies, Jann ( Jennifer ) Bolen, great grandchildren, Michael, Barbara, and Logan Bednarczuk, Bowen& Zacharia Bednarczuk, Zachary and Kaitlin Klies and Mitchell and Madison Bolen.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Boris Bednarczuk who died March 23, 2001, two brothers, Donald and Russell McCloy.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2004 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2004 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Fr. Leo Connolly as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Zanesville.

Helen M. Martin

Helen Margaret Martin, 88, of Gratiot, died at 7:50 a.m. Sunday, January 25, 2004 at Cedar Hill Care Center. She was born December 21, 1915 at Zanesville, a daughter of the late Wilmer & Ruth Irvin Holmes. Helen was a loving mother and a wonderful grandmother. She was a lifetime member of Gratiot United Methodist Church and a member of the Ladies Bridge Club in Gratiot.

Surviving are her are her two sons, Terry Martin of Las Vegas, NV and Mike ( Diane ) Martin of Zanesville, five special grandchildren, Michael ( Jo Ann ) Martin and Melissa ( David )McBride both of Hebron, Sarah ( Josh ) Micklos of Atlanta, Georgia, Christopher Martin and Stacy Martin both of Las Vegas, NV. Four great grandchildren, Jared, Tyler, & Jacob McBride and Charley Martin.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd R. Martin and a grandson, Robby Martin.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2004 at Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a..m. Thursday, January 29, 2004 with Rev. Carol Tong officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Fork Cemetery, Gratiot.
