William F. Deubel, 66, of Ripley, Ohio, died Monday.
He was an auto body foreman and a
Korean War Army veteran. The Cincinnati native also was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He leaves a son, Mark A. Deubel of Buena Vista, Colo.; sisters Rosemary Evans of Ewing, Ky., and Joyce Henderson of Cincinnati; and three grandchildren. Mr. Deubel's wife, Ida Mae, preceded him in death.

Alona Hager, of College Hill
Alona Hager, 55, was an avid gardener and golfer who loved to make her home beautiful.
The College Hill resident died Tuesday at Christ Hospital after a long illness.
"Gardening was a lifelong interest of hers," said her husband, Robert. "Day lilies were her favorite things to work with."
Mrs. Hager was a member of the Cincinnati Civic Garden Center, Mt. Healthy Garden Club and the Clovernook Country Club.
She also leaves her mother, Edith Jamison Hauer; daughters, Suttan Geiser and Challyn Hager; son, Matt Hager; sister, Patricia Hornbach; brothers, J. Randal Hauer and Ted Hauer; and seven grandchildren.

C. Merwin Grayson Sr., prominent banker
Northern Kentucky banker and community activist C. Merwin Grayson Sr. died Wednesday. He was 84.
Mr. Grayson was former chairman of the board of People's Liberty Bank in Covington.
"He was a successful and popular banker," said his son, Mer Grayson Jr., who is president and CEO of Huntington Bank in Covington. "My dad was always the guy in the bank who knew everybody."
Among civic endeavors, Mr. Grayson was on the founding board of Panorama Apartments, one of the first government-subsidized senior citizen apartment buildings in the state. He also worked with Hope Cottage and the Boy Scouts.
He also leaves daughter Jill Beckman; another son, Thomas P. Grayson; stepdaughter, Sally Schneider; stepson, Thomas E. Rettig; brother, Jack Grayson; and 11 grandchildren.

Capt. Anne Kirby, loved ministry
Capt. Anne Kirby was known as a tireless worker for the Salvation Army.
She was the first-ever lead administrator of the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center in Norwood. There she gained much respect for her one-on-one ministry, creative programming, teaching and counseling.
"She did very well, in fact so well they moved her up into an administrative job," said Alice Skirtz, director of social services for the Salvation Army in Cincinnati.
"She ultimately asked to be returned to where she would be with the people. She served the rest of her career in the rehabilitation center in Mount Vernon, N.Y.
"She wanted to be with the men and they loved her very much. She was really a people person," Ms. Skirtz said.
Capt. Kirby, 68, died Wednesday at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine.
"She was very sweet and loving person," said Bernice Moreland, who works at the Walnut Hills Salvation Army store. "She was dedicated to the Salvation Army. She also cared about the men out there being rehabilitated. I worked in the stores and she came around to all of them. I've been with the Salvation Army 27 years and knew her the whole time she was in Cincinnati."
Survivors include sons, Gordon Kirby of Montclair, N.J.; and Kenneth Kirby of Veron, Conn.; daughters, Mayor Christine Deitrick of Warwick, R.I.; Jeanne Howard of Middletown, Ohio; and Capt. Cathryn Young of West Hempstead, N.Y.; sisters, Irene Gilbert and Helen Edmonds, both of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; and Jessica Melville of Mays Landing, N.J.; brother William Melville of Hamilton, Ontario; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services were Friday at the Salvation Army Church in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. Burial: 1 p.m. today at the Salvation Army's Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, N.Y.
