William Skeen, served as Anderson clerk
William "Bill" C. Skeen, 69, former Anderson Township Clerk, died Thursday.
He retired as township clerk three years ago, after serving 17 years.
The native Cincinnatian established Wm. C. Skeen Accounting Business in 1969, and operated the public accounting firm on Beechmont Avenue for 20 years before selling it. He worked at the Procter & Gamble Co. from 1946 until 1969.
Mr. Skeen was a longtime member of the Anderson Township Chamber of Commerce. He was a graduate of Western Hills High School and the University of Cincinnati.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Wheeler Skeen; sons Mike, Mark and Frank; daughter Lynda Lambert; sister, Shirley Combs; and 16 grandchildren.
Services were this morning at T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home, Mt. Washington .

Robert Coyle, UC alum and interior designer
Robert H. Coyle, 60, of Newark, Ohio, and formerly of Cincinnati, died July 5.
Mr. Coyle was a 1960 graduate of the University of Cincinnati's College of Design, Architecture and Art. He was a member of the UC Alumni Association and a member and former chapter president of the American Society of Interior Designers.
Survivors include his sister, Shirley J. Coyle Robertson.

Helen Detzel, news reporter and professor
Helen Detzel, a former reporter, editor and columnist for the old Cincinnati Times-Star, has died at age 93.
Ms. Detzel, who worked for the Times-Star in the 1940s and '50s, died June 19 at St. Clair Retirement Center in Wyoming.
She began honing her skills in high school. A Times-Star story in 1941 said she had written and sold fiction stories and poems while still attending St. Ursula Academy.
While at the Times-Star, Ms. Detzel wrote a column called "Bellhopping," which she gathered while covering the hotel beat.
She left the Times-Star in 1958 to become a journalism professor and publicity writer for Our Lady of Cincinnati College, later Edgecliff College. She also assisted in play productions.
Ms. Detzel's body was donated to University of Cincinnati Medical Center. She leaves by several cousins.
Service: 7 p.m. today at St. Monica-St. George Church, Clifton Heights.

Raymond C. Brunst, Cheviot pharmacist
Raymond C. Brunst, 68, a pharmacist and longtime Cheviot drug store owner, died Wednesday at Franciscan Hospital.
Mr. Brunst began his career as a pharmacist in the mid-1950s in Cheviot with George Rohe in his drug store at Glenmore and Harrison avenues.
In 1975, Mr. Brunst became a partner with Rohe and in 1979, he purchased Rohe's interests and moved the store to its present location on Harrison Avenue near Bridgetown Road. Mr. Brunst retired in 1992, and the store is now operated by a son, Richard Brunst. Many family members still work there.
In addition to his son, Mr. Brunst leaves his wife, Jean V. Maes Brunst; another son, David Brunst, of Bridgetown; daughters, Saundra Wiesman of Bridgetown, Diana Brunst and Karen Conrady, both of Western Hills; and 10 grandchildren.
