Jerry Stump, former Baptist pastor in Vevay
Former southeastern Indiana pastor and businessman Jerry Stump, 52, died Wednesday in Gainesville, Fla.
Mr. Stump was a former pastor at Vevay Baptist Church, Vevay, Ind., and had owned the Sylvania TV Sales & Repair Shop there. He was a graduate of the old Central High School in Cincinnati and held a degree in theology from the Cincinnati Bible Seminary.
He moved to Gainsville in 1984 and owned a heating and air-conditioning business there.
Mr. Stump leaves daughters Audra Ridener and Vonda Stump, both of Vevay, and three grandchildren.

Dr. Philip Wasserman, of Jewish Hospital
Dr. Philip B. Wasserman, the retired director of clinical laboratories for Jewish Hospital, died Sunday after a long illness. Dr. Wasserman, 90, was a Kenwood resident.
During his career, Dr. Wasserman was involved in cancer research at the May Institute and was a longtime faculty member at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He also served as an assistant coroner in Hamilton County during World War II.
While directing Jewish Hospital's labs, he was instrumental in the establishment of a pioneering intern and resident program that brought an impressive selection of foreign physicians to Cincinnati for training.
The hospital's training program for lab technicians became the first in Cincinnati to accept applicants solely on the basis of their qualifications, without regard to race or ethnic background.
He also served on the budget committee of the Jewish Welfare Federation and was a founding member of Maimonides Society.
Dr. Wasserman leaves his wife, Sylvia Solway Wasserman; daughters, Naomi Hordes, Carol Deanow, Sherry Wasserman, Tamara Kramer and Barbara Cohan; a son, Carl Solway; a sister, Hortense Farber; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services are at 1 p.m. today at Weil Funeral Home, North Avondale.

James A. Cianciolo, pharmaceuticals rep
James A. Cianciolo, 75, died of lung cancer Saturday at Bethesda North Hospital.
Mr. Cianciolo grew up in Norwood and was a longtime resident of College Hill. The Purcell High School graduate studied pharmacology for three years before receiving a commission in the Navy's V-12 program during World War II. He served in the Pacific Theater.
After the war, he earned his pharmacology degree and worked for Dow Drug Store before going into sales for the Upjohn Pharmaceutical Co.
Mr. Cianciolo was a charter member at the O'Bannon Creek Golf Club and active at the Powell Crosley YMCA, where he served on the Pioneer Club committee.
He also was past president of the Hamilton County Pharmaceutical Association, and was an active member of the St. John Baptist Church for the past eight years.
"He was very loving and gentle," said his younger brother, Frank of Madeira. "He had integrity beyond belief. People just loved Jim."
Mr. Cianciolo also leaves his wife of 50 years, Ruth; and daughter, Dr. Janine Cianciolo of Florida. Arrangements were through Hodapp Funeral Home.

Irine D. Cruden Leininger, respected florist
Prize-winning florist Irine D. Cruden Leininger, 55, of Anderson Township, died Monday.
The native of Surrey, England, owned Covent Garden Florist in Mount Washington for 22 years.
Mrs. Leininger was Midwest Designer of the Year finalist for the American Institute of Floral Designers in 1996 and 1997. She won Best of Show honors at the Cincinnati Flower Show in 1994, 1995 and 1996; the Frances Jones Poetker Award in 1995 and a Gold Medal.
She leaves her husband, Richard J. Leininger; son D. Pib (Jeff Hallmark) Conlon; stepchildren Kim Moore, Tracy Leininger and Kelly Switzer; and sisters and brothers, Chris, Maureen, Kevin and Robert Cruden.
