Eleanor Sievert, respected Realtor

Longtime Realtor Eleanor G. Sievert died Tuesday. She was 93.

Mrs. Sievert spent the bulk of her career at West Shell Inc. From 1962 until April this year, she worked at the Mariemont office of Coldwell Banker/West Shell, said branch manager Stephanie Busam, branch manager.

"In an industry that's changing rapidly, she remained on the cutting edge, current on all the technology, learning computers," said Ms. Busam. "She was the ultimate professional, funny, personable. Everyone that knew her truly loved her."

At a time when most women didn't work and the real estate industry was male-dominated, she not only was a pioneering agent, but was a member of West Shell's Distinguished Million Dollar Club for 12 years, said Ms. Busam.

Mrs. Sievert's all-business attitude amused co-workers celebrating both her 90th birthday and her 30 years with West Shell.

"She didn't want us to play up that she was 90 years old, though she didn't look it," recalled Ms. Busam, noting that the reluctance wasn't vanity.

"She thought that some people wouldn't want to do business with someone who was 90 years old."

Mrs. Sievert leaves sons, Arthur R. Sievert Jr. and Wayne R. Sievert; and five grandchildren, all of Greater Cincinnati.

Her husband, Arthur R. Sievert Sr., preceded her in death.
