William P. 'Bill' Moloney

MARION -- Funeral arrangements are pending with Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors for William P. "Bill" Moloney, 83, Marion.

He died at home Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003.

Henry V. 'Hank' Rugala

MARION -- Funeral arrangements are pending with Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors for Henry V. "Hank" Rugala, age 82, Marion.

He died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003, at Marion General Hospital.

Richard C. 'Rick' Pinchock

TECUMSEH, Mich. -- Richard C. "Rick" Pinchock, age 61, of Tecumseh died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003, at Herrick Memorial Hospital.

Rick was born July 10, 1942, in Port Allegany, Pa., the son of Andy and Lora (Carlson) Pinchock.

On Aug. 3, 1968, he married Sally A. Metzo in Bradford, Pa.

He graduated from Port Allegany High School in 1960. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1964-66 where he did an overseas tour in Giessen, Germany. He worked for the Tecumseh Products Company in Marion, Ohio from 1961-1982. He was then transferred to the Tecumseh Products headquarters in Tecumseh, Mich., in 1982, where he worked as an engineer until his retirement in 2001. He was currently the plant manager for ididit inc. in Tecumseh, Mich.

He owned and operated R.C. Pinchock Nursery and Florist, The Christmas Tree Farm in LaRue, Ohio, from 1978-1983.

He loved all racing, especially NASCAR, most recently participating in a Richard Petty Driving Experience at Michigan International Speedway, Brooklyn, Mich.

Rick was an avid gardener.

In addition to his wife, Sally, he is survived by his mother, Lora Pinchock of Port Allegany, Pa.; one daughter, Wendy (Mike) Hinz of Ypsilanti, Mich.; one son, Andrew Richard "Andy" (Polina) Pinchock of Rauenberg, Germany; his granddaughter, Serafine Hinz, who was the love of his life; one brother, Edward "Ted" Pinchock of Port Allegany, Pa.; a sister, Evalee Ostrom of Roulette, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Tecumseh, Mich. with the Rev. Father Daniel Wheeler officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday in the Purse Funeral Home in Tecumseh.

Funeral services will also be held 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, at Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, Pa. with the Rev. Roger Laktash officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany, Pa. with military honors. Visitation will be from noon until time of funeral services on Friday in Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, Pa.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Tecumseh Public Library or Tecumseh Band Boosters.

Darrell Lee Beery

MARION -- Darrell Lee Beery, 58, 2642 Mercer Drive, passed away at 10:35 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, at Riverside Hospital, Columbus.

Born Sept. 1, 1945, in Marion, he was the son of the late Amos Miller Beery and Lola Margaret Shirk Beery.

On Oct. 23, 1993, in Bucyrus, he married Ida Hensley Beery; she survives in Marion.

He worked 23 years as a corrections officer at Marion Correctional Institution. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict, serving 18 months in Vietnam. He was a member of American Legion Post 584 and an avid OSU and Cleveland Browns football fan.

He is also survived by two sons, Lynn (Amanda) Keckler of Marion, Sam (Sherri) Pitts, Marion; two daughters, Amanda Keckler, Marion, Sandy Gibson, Marion; two brothers, Dale (Jean) Beery of Tyrone, Pa., Roger (Jody) Beery of Marion; three sisters, Marilyn Van Dorn of Mansfield, Suzanne Postell of Marion, Jane (Don) Price of Sevierville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren, Jaccia, Martiqua, Kaleb Keckler, Chad, Jeff, Nichole Pitts, Carie "Rocky" Bale, a special granddaughter, Casey Marie "Papas Baby" Keckler, Brittney "Brit the Brat" Keckler; his dog Blue; and a close family friend, Dave Stockman. He was preceded in death by a brother, Norman Beery.

The funeral is 10 a.m. Thursday at Boyd Funeral Home. Burial is in Marion Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Marion Area United Veterans Council. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Darrell Lee Beery family.

Roger P. Obenour

LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Roger P. Obenour, 63, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at the Navy Veterans Hospital in Long Beach, Calif.

Roger was born July 14, 1940, in Marion, to Edwin G. and F. Esther (Miller) Obenour. His parents are deceased.

He was a 1958 graduate of Harding High School. He joined the Navy in 1958. He served during the Vietnam War and aboard the USS Enterprise as a nuclear engineer. He served 22 years, retiring in California.

He has one son, Mark; daughter, Cathy, who lives in Hawaii; one grandson; three brothers, Gerald, Paul (Bonnie) Kenneth (Shanann); three sisters, Lois (John) Stine, Iris (Richard) Lower of Marion, Sheryl (John) Sharp of  Jeffersonville, Ind.; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Rex, John, Don and Keith and one sister, June Betz.

Memorial and military services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens with the Rev. Reed Miller officiating.

Margarete Butz

CALEDONIA -- Margarete Butz, age 74, of 7727 Morrow County Road 28, Caledonia, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, in Marion General Hospital.

She was born In Munich, Germany, on Oct. 26, 1929, the daughter of Josef and Anna (Krieger) Willer.

In 1956, she accompanied Donald Butz to the United States and married him in Martel on Nov. 7 of that same year. Don survives her at home.

Margarete dedicated her life to raising her five sons, caring for her home and garden and her animals. She always put everyone else first.

She is survived by four of her sons, Mike and John of Caledonia, Chris of Marion and Gregory of Kentucky. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Therese Butz of Columbus, the wife of her late son, Donald; eight grandsons and two granddaughters. Margarete is survived by her brother Seigfried Willer and sisters Elizabeth Margherito and Lilly Ullrich of Germany and Charlotte Deans of Raleigh, N.C. She was preceded by one brother.

Funeral Services for Margarete will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday Oct. 31, 2003, in the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home at Caledonia with Father Michael Nimocks officiating. Burial will follow in Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday where the family will receive them from 7-9 p.m.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the First Consolidated Emergency Squad.

Bonnie L. Durfee

EDISON -- Bonnie L. Durfee, 56, of County Road 59, Edison, died Thursday evening, Oct. 30, 2003, in an accident near Marion.

She was born in Chelyan, W.Va., on Nov. 8, 1946, the daughter of the late Sammy and Rosie Simmons McCoy. She had worked as a press operator for Ohio Arundale in Mount Gilead. Bonnie was dedicated to her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Paul Cochran; two sons, Jimmy (Marilyn) Durfee of Perry and Ronald Durfee II of Mansfield; six daughters, Kathy (Matt Grimes) Hunt of Cardington, Pearl (Bobby) Kinney of Caledonia, Patty (Doug) Lawrence of York, Pa., Amber Durfee of Edison, Amanda (Dave) Eckard of Hammond, Ind., and Bonnie Durfee of Edison; a stepson Wade Cochran of Marion; a stepdaughter Heather Cochran of Marion; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Cecil (Ruby) McCoy of Kirbyville, Texas, and Robert (Tana) McCoy of Mount Gilead; seven sisters, Martha (Don) Craig, Genetta Harris and Loretta (Kevin) Williams, all of Mansfield; Doris J. Browning of Perrysville, Wanda (Jerry) Baker of Mount Gilead and Drema (Denny) Triacoff of Elyria.

A son, Billy Durfee, and brother, Earl Elswick, also preceded her in death.

Friends may call at the Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Gilead 2-5 p.m. Sunday. Pastor Bob Johncox will conduct funeral services there at 11 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Garden near Lexington.
