Dannie R. Hill

MARION -- Dannie R. Hill, 53, 1639 Marion-Waldo Road, died at 5:50 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at Marion General Hospital.

Born Oct. 28, 1950, in Marion, he was the son of the late Dannie R. Hill Sr.

He was employed by Marion Catholic High School as custodian.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara (McCormick) Hill; three sons, Victor (Carla) Blazier, Vance (Shanon) Brammer and Vincent (Lisa) Brammer, all of Marion; and six grandchildren.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Marion Catholic Activities Center with the Rev. Father Michael Nimocks officiating. Burial is in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.

Frances E. Kunze

MOUNT GILEAD -- Frances E. Kunze, 91, of Co. Rd. 20, Mount Gilead, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003 in Morrow Manor in Chesterville.

She was born in Akron on May 18, 1912, the daughter of the late John and Catherine Bowie Yoakam. She helped operate a family dairy farm until retiring. Frances was a member of the Chesterville United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and was active in the United Methodist Women. She had also been a member of the Morrow Co. Farm Bureau, the Perry Twp. Farm Bureau Council, the PTA, and served as a 4-H Advisor and FHA mom.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald E. (Betty) Kunze of Sun City Center, Florida, and Charles E. (Saundra) Kunze of Chesterville, Ohio; two daughters, Donna M. Plotner of Mount Gilead, Ohio, and Judith A. Mayer of Pensacola, Florida; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Her husband, E. Paul Kunze, whom she married June 22, 1933, preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 2001. A daughter Evelyn P. Poister and twelve brothers and sisters also preceded her in death.

Friends may call at the Craven Funeral Home in Mount Gilead on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Rev. Joe Sopher and Rev. Mary Lou Gompf will conduct funeral services there Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Chesterville. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Chesterville United Methodist Church.

Betty J. Stanley

MARION -- Betty J. Stanley, 70, 458 Patterson St., died at 11:20 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, at Community Health Care Center.

Born on April 29, 1933, in Marion, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Celia (Barr) Eaches.

She worked in housekeeping at MedCenter Hospital.

She is survived by two daughters, Deanna Bruhnsen of West Mansfield and Jackie (Lynn) Caudill of Marion; a son, Roger Stanley of Delaware; and three sisters, Ruby (Ralph) Cook of Marion, Rose Neff of Marion and JoAnn Stanley of Marion; seven grandchildren, Shaun Stanley, Ken (Pam) Caudill, Shona (Jarod) Newsome, James Bruhnsen, Josh Stanley, Mary Stanley and Ashley Caudill; and 10 great-grandchildren. Her husband, George Stanley, preceded her in death in 2001. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Ray, Harry, Dale and Ernie Eaches.

Funeral services are 1 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 4, 2003, at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors with the Rev. Brett Cornelius officiating. Burial is in Grand Prairie Cemetery, 4964 Brush Ridge Road North. Friends may visit 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gethsemane Lutheran Church.

John T. Doner

MARION -- John T. Doner, age 91, passed away Friday Oct. 31, 2003, at Marion General Hospital. Arrangements are pending at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors.

Lela Rider

MARION -- Lela Rider, who lived on Marion-Marysville Road, died at her home Saturday Nov. 1, 2003. Funeral arrangements are pending at Boyd Funeral Home.

Mary E. McDaniel

MARION -- Mary E. McDaniel, age 80, of Marion, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at Marion General Hospital.

Mary was born Oct. 20, 1923, in Caledonia, to the late Theodore and Opal (Stackhouse) Stafford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence O. McDaniel, whom she married Oct. 13, 1941; two brothers, Joseph and Harold Stafford and a sister-in-law, Cleona Stafford.

Her survivors include her sons, Doug McDaniel of Lakeview, and Al (Liz) McDaniel of Marion; three granddaughters, Amy Jo McDaniel (Schuder) of Marion, Dorothy (Rob) Wallingford of Bucyrus and Mary (Jarrod) Crist of Marion; two great-granddaughters, Brianna and Savannah Crist and a sister-in-law, Alice Stafford of Concord, N.H.

Mary was a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church, 835 Bellefontaine Ave., Marion, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, with the Rev. David Cottrell officiating. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Caledonia Cemetery.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that memorial contributions be made to Oakland United Methodist Church or Quality of Life Hospice in Mary's memory.

Arrangements completed by Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home and Crematory, 515 High St., Worthington, 43085.

Sherrie R. Lane

MARION -- Sherrie R. Lane, age 62, of Marion, passed away early Sunday morning, Nov. 2, 2003, at Marion General Hospital.

Born in Lima, on March 3, 1941, to Robert and Carol (Heffelfinger) Moore, she married Gerald Lee Lane on March 21, 1964, and he survives at home.

Sherrie was a member of the VFW Post 3313 Auxiliary and Epworth United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Michael Moore.

Surviving besides her husband are her two sons, Gerald "Bo" (Annette) Lane II and Rickey (Suzi) Lane, both of Marion; her two daughters, Mrs. Doyal (Edna Louise) Houston of Crossville, Tenn., and Michelle Dunaway of Marion; six grandsons, Doyle, Tony and Travis Houston and Travis, Michael and Chris Lane, four granddaughters, Amanda, Monica and Ashley Lane and Jamie Houston; one great-grandson, Trevor Houston and one great-granddaughter, Morgan Houston.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home with Pastor Max L. Williams of Epworth United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Claridon Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Epworth United Methodist Church.

Vernon Wood Sizemore

MARION -- Vernon W. Sizemore, 71, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, at his home.

Born Oct. 27, 1932, in Lawrence County, Ohio. He was the son of the late Rev. Jessie C. and Hattie (Delawder) Sizemore.

He served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army Division.

He worked at various jobs in southern Ohio before moving to Marion in 1966. He then was employed by Dutt Implement, Marion Plant City Steel and the Marion Huber Company from 1966-71. From 1971-1985, he was employed by the Marion Power Shovel Dresser. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and talking on the CB. He was a member of the Korean War Veterans Association Chapter 136, Marion, Ohio. He was also a member of the White Oaks Road First Freewill Baptist Church in Marion.

He married Lillian Sparks July 6, 1956.

A dedicated and devoted husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his loving wife, Lillian; son Lloyd; four daughters, Brinda (Jim) Stover, Christine (Dean) Butler, Beverly (John) Doherty and Angela (Steve) Speakman. Five grandchildren he adored, Jamie Stover, James Stover, Cory Stover, Iain Doherty and Jessie Ann Marie Doherty, all of Marion, Ohio. Also surviving are his three sisters, Stella Jiles, Myrtle Sizemore, of Lawrence County, Ohio, Wanda (George) Blagg of Minster, Ohio, and one brother, Carl Roy Sizemore of Lawrence County, Ohio. He also leaves behind several nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his father, the Rev. Jessie C., mother, Hattie (Delawder) Sizemore, one daughter, Virginia Sue Sizemore, four brothers, James Elmer Sizemore, Franklin Sizemore, Andrew L. Sizemore and William C. Sizemore, and two sisters, Selma Perry and Mary Ethel Kidd.

Friends and family may call at the Boyd Funeral Home 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today. The body will then be transported to Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton, Ohio, for calling hours at Phillips 6-9 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be Friday at Puckett's Cemetery, Pedro, Ohio, Lawrence County, where military rites will be conducted. Funeral services at Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton is 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Jessie Sizemore officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to White Oaks Road First Freewill Baptist Church in Marion, Ohio.
