Roland Belanger, labor leader
Roland O. Belanger, 83, of Finneytown, died Monday. He was a retired treasurer for the International Molders and Allied Workers Union. He also was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 6th Armored Division in Europe and earning the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
A 40-year resident of Finneytown, Mr. Belanger was a member of St. Vivian Church, where he was a past president of the Free Spirits. He was the treasurer and fund-raiser for Boy Scout Troop 682 at St. Vivian; a founding member of the Cincinnati chapter of the Industrial Relations Research Association and the Springfield Township Senior Center, where he was president; and a member of the Cincinnati Catholic Kopling Society.
He leaves his wife, Angelina Belanger; sons, Roland J. Belanger of Orange Park, Fla., Paul J. Belanger of Fairfield and Michael Belanger of Cincinnati; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Shirley Althoff, of Delhi Township
Shirley A. Althoff, who worked diligently to preserve the history of Delhi Township, died Monday.
She was a founder of the Delhi Historical Society in 1976 and had served as curator since then. She co-authored a book on the history of the township and did the note cards, calligraphy and art work. She also was a member of St. Dominic Church.
Mrs. Althoff leaves her husband, George; and a sister, Patricia Waples.

Robert Conley rites Saturday
Mass for Robert T. Conley, president of the Union Institute, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at All Saints Church, Kenwood.
Mr. Conley died Tuesday of an apparent heart attack at his Blue Ash home. He was 67.
He was named president of the Union Institute in 1982, when the private university was struggling financially and seeing enrollment decline. Mr. Conley reorganized the university and, within a few years, the school was flourishing.
The Union Institute offers bachelors and doctoral degrees through its Cincinnati and other centers. While president, Mr. Conley expanded the school's academic learning centers in Miami, Los Angeles, Sacramento and San Diego, and oversaw the development of the pioneering Center for Distance Learning.
He leaves his wife, Doris; daughters, Debra Henderson Wand and Robin Barbiea; a son, Bryan; and five grandchildren.
Family members will greet friends at their home. Memorials: Robert T. Conley Scholarship Trust of the Union Institute in lieu of flowers.

Jackson Clagett III, P&G retiree
Jackson L. Clagett III, 70, a retired Procter & Gamble Co. advertising employee, died Saturday.
Mr. Clagett, who worked for P&G for 35 years, retired in 1987.
The
Korean War veteran graduated from Walnut Hills High School in 1946. He also graduated from Hanover College in Hanover, Ind.
Mr. Clagett III was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity, and Gamma Sigma Pi and Pi Gamma Mu honor societies. He was a former board member of public radio station WGUC-FM.
Mr. Clagett was the past governor of the Ohio Society of Colonial Wars and in December 1998, he was elected Governor General of the Ohio Society of Colonial Wars. He also was a member of St. Timothy Episcopal Church.
Mr. Clagett is survived by his wife, Nancy; a daughter, Susan Dufresne, of Anderson Township; a son, John Clagett of Overland Park, Kan.; a brother, Barry Clagett, of San Francisco; and three grandchildren.
