Services for accident victims
A combined funeral service is scheduled Saturday for a Ross High School student and her grandfather who were killed in a car accident Tuesday.

Services for Melissa Boling, 16, and her grandfather, Robert Sandlin, 70, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Hamilton Christian Center, 1940 Millville Ave. There will be visitation from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the center.

The Brown Dawson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Boling, a junior, was the third Ross High School student to be killed in a car crash in the past three weeks.

Adam Brinkman, a 17-year-old senior, and Scott King Jr., a 16-yer-old junior, were killed Aug. 20 as they drove home from football practice.

Milton Rodamer, Pearl Harbor survivor

Milton Eugene Rodamer was a Navy sailor stationed at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941. When the Japanese attacked, Mr. Rodamer was aboard a repair ship and suffered shell shock from the bombings.

Mr. Rodamer was sent to several veterans hospitals in the months following the attack that left him disabled for the rest of his life.

Mr. Rodamer, of Hebron, Ky., died Friday at age 82.

"He never talked about it (Pearl Harbor) much, but I knew he thought about it," a brother, Lawrence, said.

Mr. Rodamer liked to garden, his brother said. He also attended Sand Run Baptist Church in Boone County and belonged to a veterans' organization, Lawrence Rodamer said.

Other survivors include his wife, Juanita Holt Rodamer; a son, Samuel Rodamer of Hebron; a daughter, Joyce Ross of Crittenden, Ky.; a sister, Hilda F. Ficke of Cincinnati; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sand Run Baptist Church, Hebron. Visitation will begin there at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron, in charge of arrangements.

Raymond C. Rost Sr., avid fisherman

Raymond C. Rost Sr. was dedicated to his wife of 52 years and his children, and he also was an enthusiastic outdoorsman and fisherman.

"He always hoped there would be a great fishing hole in heaven," said his wife, Marion Rost. "He loved to fish since he was a child,"

Mr. Rost, a retired chemical engineer, died Sunday. He was 81.

"Every May for 20 years, he would go up to Canada with his buddies to fish," Mrs. Rost said.

Mr. Rost, who was raised in Cincinnati's West End and attended Woodward High School, was the first person in his family to get a college degree, graduating from the University of Cincinnati in 1940.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. "He always said that when he joined the service, the Nazis and Japanese surrendered," said Mrs. Rost, a retired registered nurse. "He had a wonderful sense of humor."

In addition to his wife, Mr. Rost leaves one son, Dr. Raymond Rost Jr.; three daughters: Paula Peake, Carolyn Rost and Suzanne McGuine, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Therese-Little Flower Catholic Church at Colerain and Kirby avenues. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Busse Borgman Funeral Home, Central Parkway.

John A. Kordenbrock, owner Air Flight Services

John A. Kordenbrock, 62, retired owner of Air Flight Services in Cincinnati, died Sunday when the small plane he was piloting crashed on a private airstrip near Falmouth, Ky.

Mr. Kordenbrock, who lived in Falmouth, was attempting to land the plane when it clipped some trees and crashed into a hill side.

Survivors include his wife, Pamela Kordenbrock; sons, John A. Kordenbrock II of Apple View, Calif.; Jeffrey A. Kordenbrock of Jacksonville, Fla.; Zachary A. Kordenbrock, at home; Russell Schilling of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; James Mason of Erlanger, Ky.; and Kenneth Mason of Villa Hills, Ky.; a daughter, Jenay A. Kisling of Milford, Ohio; his mother, Violet Kordenbrock of Cincinnati; sisters, Sharon Gaffney of Cincinnati; Glenda Mussman of Edgewood, Ky.; Karen Lattin of Oceanside, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Ronald B.  Jones Funeral Home, Ludlow, Ky. Visitation: 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial: Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erlanger. Memorials: Martha Circle of Dorthea Pentecostal Church, Corbin, Ky. 40707.
