Robert E. 'Bob' Meyer, a lover of antique cars, died Wednesday at his home in Mack.
Mr. Meyer, 72, operated Bob Meyer Auto Service for 25 years.
Mr. Meyer and his wife Dorothy traveled around the world in 1982 in a 1930 Model A Ford. In 1985, they went to the Arctic Circle in a Model A. And three years later they traveled the perimeter of the United States, completing their drive through all 50 states in a Model A car.
"He drove an old car every day, mostly his '65 Chevy truck," she said.
He was past director of the Model A Club, Ohio Valley Region, and the Northern Kentucky-Cincinnati Antique Auto Club.
A mechanics teacher at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, Mr. Meyer was a 40-year member and past president of the Cheviot-Westwood Kiwanis Club, where he had a perfect attendance record.
He also helped run the annual Harvest Home Parade, sponsored by the Cheviot-Westwood Kiwanis, in Cheviot for years.
"It was the first year without Bob and it was really tough. He was my right hand," said Dave Backer, parade chairman. "He took care of all the little details. He was a man you could depend on."
He was also a 40-year member of the Purcell Council No. 2798 Knights of Columbus and a veteran of the Army infantry in World War II.
Mr. and Mrs. Meyer had been married for 51 years.
"You might say his life was cars, family and his church," Mrs. Meyer said.
"I just feel like with his love of the car and the Model A and that, we were just able to travel the world, you might say, and meet many beautiful people."
The Model A Mr. and Mrs. Meyer drove around the world will be driven in the funeral procession.

Edward Horstman, loving grandfather
Edward Horstman loved to fish - in the Atlantic Ocean, the Great Lakes and especially, since they were readily available, at the pay lakes that once dotted Cincinnati.
Urged on by his grandsons, he would cast out his line so far that, after traveling 100 feet or more, his float and hook would often plop into the water only a short distance from the other side of the lake.
When that would happen, his grandsons would race to the other side of the lake, cast out their own lines slightly beyond his and yell: "Grandpa, we're in deeper water than you!"
"That's because I'm a lot older and you're a lot stronger!" he'd shout back.
Mr. Horstman, who died Saturday at 95, was a retired factory foreman who later worked at his son's business, Glenmore Bowl in Cheviot, until he was 90.
One of nine children of a Mohawk family, Mr. Horstman - who grew up across Stark Street from his wife of 65 years, Margaret - often regaled his family with tales of his boyhood life in turn-of-the-century Cincinnati.
To help support his family, Mr. Horstman left high school after his freshman year to work at Lockwood Manufacturing Co., for 24 cents an hour, earning $12 a week for five nine-hour days and five hours on Saturday.
After the company relocated, he became shop foreman until he retired after 50 years.
Despite limited schooling, he was a history buff and was exceptionally bright in math.
"If I didn't have to leave school, I think I might have been able to really do something," he often said.
He was a top bowler and a staunch Reds fan who watched nearly every game on TV.
A longtime member of St. Peter & St. Paul United Church of Christ in Westwood, Mr. Horstman is survived by his son, Lester, and daughter-in-law, Jean; four grandsons - Barry, Ron, Jeff and David, all of Cincinnati; three great-grandchildren - Christopher, Zachary and Emma; a sister, Laura Bradford, and two nieces, Lorraine Story of Cincinnati and Marian Trunk of Plantation, Fla.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Rebold Funeral Home, 3700 Glenmore Avenue, Cheviot. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
