Thomas Dickinson, military attorney

Thomas Passmore Dickinson, 102, of Georgetown, a veteran of World War I, World War II and the Korean Conflict, died Friday.

Born in 1897, he served in World War I as an Army infantry private and was discharged in 1918.

He graduated from Detroit College of Law and began practicing law in 1928.

Mr. Dickinson re-enlisted in the Army as a private in the Michigan National Guard in 1941 and was promoted to first sergeant when the guard was federalized later that year.

He went on to officers training school and was commissioned a lieutenant.

He was assigned to the judge advocates department for U.S. foreign claims and went to Normandy, France, with Gen. George Patton's Army in 1944. He was overseas 37 months.

He remained in the Army and in 1951 was sent to Korea, serving as public information officer for the Eighth Army's civil assistance command.

Mr. Dickinson retired from the Army as a lieutenant colonel in 1955.

In 1961, he entered civilian service with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a real estate legal adviser. He retired in 1969.

Survivors include his wife, Eloise, and a son, Thomas Passmore Dickinson III.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. tonight at the Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

MARION L. SANDERS, 74, of Decatur, Ohio, died Saturday. Mr. Sanders was a retired heavy equipment operator and a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and the Korean War. Sister Agnes Patricia Faulkner, nurse

Sister Agnes Patricia Faulkner, a Sister of Charity of Cincinnati for just over 75 years, died Saturday at the Mother Margaret Hall nursing home, Delhi Township. She was 95.

Sister Agnes Patricia entered the Sisters of Charity in 1924 and received her nursing degree from Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati in 1929.

She served at numerous hospitals in Dayton, Ohio, and in New Mexico and Colorado. She helped establish the El Pomar Retreat Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., where she served in 1945-47 and 1953-69.

Sister Agnes Patricia retired in 1969, and returned to the Sisters of Charity Motherhouse in Delhi Township where she was active in various departments, including the kitchen and laundry.

"Sister Agnes Patricia's influence can be felt by those who lived with her and who knew her," said Sister of Charity Elizabeth Ann Byrne, a friend. "Since she moved into Mother Margaret Hall I had the good fortune to be with her every day and to witness her love of God, the community and her family."

Despite her advanced age, Sister Agnes Patricia always rose at 4 a.m. and always had her rosary and Lourdes water with her, Sister Elizabeth Ann said. She celebrated her 75th anniversary as a Sister of Charity last summer.

She leaves many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. today in the chapel auditorium at the Sisters of Charity Motherhouse, Delhi Township, followed by Mass at 3 p.m.

Memorials: Sisters of Charity Retirement Fund, 5900 Delhi Road, Mount St. Joseph, Ohio, 45051, or to the charity of choice.

Nancy J. Sickinger, dedicated caretaker

Serving those in need - especially the mentally retarded and disabled - was very special to Nancy J. Sickinger.

She began her career as a social worker with the Hamilton County Welfare Department and for the past 23 years was with the Hamilton County Board of Mental Retardation/Developmental Disabilities (MRDD). She served as an intake coordinator and in recent years was a case manager.

Mrs. Sickinger, 51, of Mount Lookout, died Sunday.

She is being remembered for the extra effort she put into her work - taking the time to comfort her clients, recognize their birthdays, help them set up independent living arrangements. For one, she arranged and paid the bill for a family portrait to be taken - the family's first ever.

"Her dedication to the clients was just phenomenal," said her husband, George Sickinger. "These often were people who were overlooked. She went out of her way to get some joy in their lives."

Mrs. Sickinger was a graduate of Mother of Mercy High School and the University of Cincinnati where she received a bachelor's degree in sociology. She graduated summa cum laude and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa honor society.

Mrs. Sickinger leaves her husband, George Sickinger; a daughter, Rachel Sickinger; stepsons Todd Sickinger and Greer Sickinger; her mother, Clotilda Roedersheimer; brothers Tom Roedersheimer and Mike Roedersheimer; sisters, Mary Lou Weseli, Sue Gump, Joyce Murray and Karen Mueller; and one grandson.

Services: Mass at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony Church, Madisonville. Visitation: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Elden A. Good Funeral Home, 2620 Erie Ave., Hyde Park. Memorials: Nancy J. Mary Ann Fite, taught home economics

Mary Ann Fite was a longtime home-economics teacher in the Western Brown School District in Brown County, Ohio.

Mrs. Fite died Wednesday at Villa Georgetown Nursing Home. She was 59.

Survivors include her husband, Tom W. Fite of Georgetown; a daughter, Lisa Ann (Wesley) Teegarden of Maysville, Ky.; a son, Michael T. (Missy) Fite of Dublin, Ohio; and three grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Thompson-Stevens Funeral Home in Mt. Orab, Ohio. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Georgetown Church of Christ.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Georgetown Church of Christ.
